♥♥Contemporary Romance♥♥

Liam and Evie McAllister are happily married with their first baby on the way. But traveling back to their hometown for a wedding with their friends opens up a conversation about how the two started dating in the first place. Their story, though it has a happy ending, is more complicated than either of them would care to admit.

Fresh out of a three year relationship, Evie finds herself growing closer to her classmate, Liam, during their senior year of high school. But Evie, dead set on going off to college single, sticks him firmly in the friend zone. She can't let anyone get too close or else her secret, that she can't even admit to herself, is at risk of being exposed.

Liam only sees this as a challenge. After all, he knows they're perfect for each other, even if Evie can't see it yet. As she battles lingering feelings for her ex, Liam attempts to help her move on and heal. She leans into it at first, enjoying peeling back the shy guys, hockey player persona everyone knows and getting to know the artistic side of Liam she didn't know existed.

When the lines between friendship and relationship are blurred, things get messy. Will Evie's stubbornness and determination to escape her hometown get in the way of her accepting a good thing that's right in front of her? And will Liam, despite his best efforts, lose the first person who has made him feel seen since the passing of his father?

I binge-read all 3 books in this series in like 2 days! I love them all. I was so happy to read about Liam and Evie’s origin story in Please Wait for Me. I was curious about how they ended up together while reading the previous books. Evie made me a bit upset at some points because she was very stubborn in rejecting the bond she felt with Liam. But Liam was an absolute saint for sticking to his guns and moving at her pace. I was so sad when she didn’t see his last attempt at having her realize her feelings before they went their separate ways for college. But I was so happy when they finally got together (even though I knew it would happen!). I love a dual timeline book, so I liked how Emma Pathy approached their story. I hope we get another book in the series - hopefully about B???

I received an ARC of this book.

She did it again - I loved Liam and Evie's story! Liam is a very patient dude 🤣

I love how a set of characters from each book is unique but ties in with the overall series. This may have been my favorite so far.

Keep writing Emma! Looking forward to reading more.

This is an amazing book and I cant believe how fast I read it. Its a slow burn but keeps your toes curled at how cute and loving it is. The friendship that grows and grows into more, had me on my toes wanting to know what was happening next. Definitely one of my favorites of the month. Dont even get me started on the dedication page! It had me almost sobbing. The way this book has me laughing and crying at the same time is amazing. I really enjoyed reading this book and I cant wait to see what happens to the group next.

I enjoyed this book! I haven't read the books leading up to it, so I think that attributed to the initial difficulty really getting into the story. It was hard to be invested at first.

I did like the language/the way the characters spoke - it sounded realistic for their ages.

Overall? I enjoyed the story. Liked the ending and I'm going to read the first two books.

Just read it!

Please Wait For Me is the kind of book that grabs your heart from the very first line and never lets go. The simple question, “Do you want to start, or should I?” instantly catapults you into a past-time relationship brimming with young love, heartache, passion, and the messy, beautiful journey of finding oneself. From that moment on, you think you know where the story is headed—but you don’t, and that’s the magic of it.
The way the story unfolds is stunning. It lures you into a sense of certainty, only to slowly unravel everything you thought you understood, making the in-between moments just as powerful as the beginning and the end. The perfect amount of spice is dotted throughout—never overwhelming, always purposeful—and it only deepens a love story that will absolutely make you sob. This is the rare kind of romance that feels both intimate and universal.
It’s a quick read in terms of length, but pure infatuation won’t let you put it down until the very last page. Please Wait For Me is emotional, addictive, and unforgettable—a story that stays with you long after you finish, leaving you questioning everything you thought you knew about love, timing, and the stories we tell ourselves.

I received this book as an advanced reader copy and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

I gave this book 3.5 stars on Fable. This is the 3rd book in Emma Pathy’s Please Me series and my favorite of them so far. Liam and Evie’s story is realistic for a friends-to-lovers that started in high school and I enjoyed that this book started as them in present day telling their new friends about how their relationship started, then it went back to their high school years to really give readers in-depth knowledge into their story and how they got to where they are, then finished up back in present day. It was a great way to plot out their story.

I still struggled a little bit with writing style and sometimes mundane actions being over-explained, as I had with the first two books. There were also some grammar and spelling issues, but that is often expected in indie published books with fewer hands on the transcript prior to publication. It was not enough of any issue to deter me from reading the book. I think you can tell from book 1 to book 3 that there has been improvement in Emma Pathy’s writing and I’m looking forward to seeing what she does next. 🙂

The 3rd book in Emma Pathy’s “Please Me” Series is finally here! I was hooked from the very first book in the series -
And she delivers here yet again! After being introduced to Liam and Evie in the first two books in the series, I was eager to learn their backstory. Yet again, Emma’s characters are so real and relatable as they try to navigate their feelings for one another. Evie and Liam very clearly have chemistry (the nonstop flirting and bantering are DELICIOUS!) but Liam must try everything he can to try and convince her of this fact. I laughed, I cried and ultimately can’t wait to read it again!

This book was well written and an easy read. I did not read the first two books in the series but I felt that this book was pretty good as a stand alone. Not reading the first two books did not leave me questioning what was happening. This book portrayed a beautiful story. I love that the majority of the book was a retelling of the characters past and how they met. It definitely is different from other stories I have read.

Emma Pathy continues to deliver. In perhaps my favorite of her 3 books so far. I can’t get enough of her characters. They have complexity to them that is rare to find in romance novels. There’s something both comforting and exciting throughout this story that makes you feel at home, but also eager, and giddy at times, to hear what happens next. Looking forward to whatever comes next in Emma’s novels.

Please Wait For Me was an honest depiction of drama, romance, and all the stereotypes of a small town. I really felt the push and pull of the main characters as they navigated their relationship and all the stressors that affected them. I would have liked a little more written in the present tense and not all focused on them in the past.
