Shelbey Kendall writes heartwarming, hope-filled fiction for readers of all ages. As the author of The Sonshine Sister Club series, she blends faith, family, friendship, and a touch of humor to encourage young readers that no mess or mistake is too big for Jesus. In addition to middle grade fiction, Shelbey also writes clean, closed-door romance filled with real emotion, redemptive arcs, and characters you’ll root for. Whether she’s crafting stories for kids or grown-ups, her mission is the same: to offer light in the darkness and remind readers that grace is always within reach.
When she’s not writing, you’ll likely find her sipping coffee, listening to country music or Andy Grammer, or spending time with her family. She lives in small-town Kansas and is always dreaming up her next story.
Ok so I just finished reading this to my girls and all I can think is this quote from “The Sonshine Sister club: Just My Luck” where Andie says “She's crying, because my mom cries about everything good, bad, happy, or sad.” I struggled at times to read because I started getting choked up. I could not stop thinking of the seasons that we are currently in.
This book is a great resource when navigating and expressing changes with our kids. I have a feeling I will be pulling this off the shelf to reread again to my girls. Shelbey this book series has been so uplifting and it’s literature I love my girls to read. My daughters get so excited when we get a new book from this series. Thank you for writing about situations and have it well explained. Honestly I have to have things explained to me like I’m a child too for it to stick. Thank you. My oldest even wants to start a Sonshine Sister Club in our Co-Op.
