They warn you not to make a deal with the devil, but I clearly wasn’t listening. It’s just one date. One fake date. On Valentine’s Day. How difficult could being Satan’s Valentine really be?

Damian Edgerton has it all. His penthouse apartment in the city, his thriving business, the authority, respect, and fear of the people he works with and who works for him. Settling down isn’t his style. Relationships are nothing but a weakness, and Damian doesn’t tolerate weakness. But when a potential client assumes Damian is in a relationship and invites him and his girlfriend to a Valentine’s Day dinner to close the deal, Damian doesn’t correct him. Now he needs a date, and fast.

Brielle Collins has no interest in making friends at her new job. She’s been down that road before and all it did was cause drama and damage her reputation. When her new boss, who the office has dubbed Satan, demands her presence at a dinner on Valentine’s Day, her first reaction is to run. But she does need that extra vacation day to fly home for the weekend, and this could be exactly the leverage she needs. And really, what harm could one dinner cause? How difficult could being Satan’s Valentine really be?

rcvd an ARC from the author for giving my review voluntarily.

We meet Damian, CEO and all around Satan to his staff at his advertising company. he ia trying to land a large deal but when it goes south he takes it out on his incompetent staff. we meet newest accountant Brielle, who had heard all about Satan and decides to do a report on the outdoor companies in thr area. Damian is stunned by the new hire...she did more work on a report than the staff who work in the dept. he gets another chance at the client who tells him to bring his gf to dinner...except.he doesn't have one. insert Brielle..he asks her to be his date for the mtg in lieu of a day off of her choosing. what's thr worst thing that can happen? Fake dating, rumors, and outdoor fun make this a cute story.

@IslaStelmark

Thank you @greysprmo and Isla for the ARC.

🔥🔥This book is releasing on 3 February 2026.🔥🔥

Damien - Boss man of advertising company (Satan)
Brielle- Accountant

I love the way that Brielle challenges Damien and doesn’t let him walk all over her. She is sassy and smart and the tension and banter is so well done.

Isla’s writing style and the way she bought the characters to life was perfection. Will be reading more of her books now.

ARC

Thank you Grey's Promotions and Isla this early copy. All parts of this review are of my honest opinion 💚

This is perfect for the Valentines Day season! I wish I could go back and read it all over again for the first time because let me tell you, when I laughed, I really laughed. And not only was it hilarious, it was so cute and heartwarming.

I loved Brielle who just seems to understand who someone is without even trying. She's just one of those people that everyone is automatically drawn to and can’t help but love. Then there's Satan...I mean Damian 😂 who is such a grumpy boss who ensures his employees are on the top of their game or suffer with consequences (deserved honestly though the employees wouldn't agree 😅). He's honestly just a teddy bear with a tough exterior and I'm all for it.

Go grab your copy of Satan's Valentine by Isla Stelmark. Perfect for a little pick me up or after a dark read! Can't wait to add it to my top books of 2026 🥰

4.5 stars rounded up to 5 because anything less is an insult!
I had the BEST time with this book, I was in such a reading slump prior and when I got approved for this ARC I was so nervous because I didn't think i'd finish it in time for release day but once I started reading it I couldn't stop. This is one of those books you could binge read in one day!

I am not a person who likes grumpy x sunshine, a broody MMC typically doesn't do it for me but DAMIAN? Give me a slice of him on the side every time, he was delicious. The way he cared for Brielle in the most thoughtful ways made my heart ache.
Don't even get me started on Brielle, I LOVED her, she was so smart and relatable.
The author really brought these characters to life!

So many great tropes in this book. Highly recommend!

Now I want to read everything by this author, because if her other books are anything like this one? Sign me up every time.

Thank you to Grey's Promo's for this ARC and to the author!

What a beautiful read! I absolutely loved how Brielle didn't succumb to the office norm of fearing 'Satan' (Damien). Instead, she met his gruff exterior with snark, sarcasm and confidence. Isla was able to do this in a way that was still believable, still realistic. It wasn't one of those "if she said this in real life, she'd be fired" scenarios - Brielle was still respectful, and mindful that he was her boss, whilst still standing her ground and not being intimidated by his grumpy attitude.

Damien's POV gives you helpful insight into why he comes across so gruff and grumpy. He's a no-nonsense, 'head down, bum up' type boss, who's main goal is to further build on his company's success.

All the characters were real, relateable, and most were likeable (iykyk). This was such a smooth, easy read. It's a slow burn but so worth the wait. Loved the banter, loved that it was serious but also funny and sweet. My first read of Isla's and I was not disappointed.

Damian and Brielle. A tough boss known to his employees as Satan. The bright new employee who isn't afraid of him.

Damian needs a fake girlfriend to win a new client. Brielle needs a day off.  Sounds simple, right? But feelings can be so inconvenient...

This was such an enjoyable read. It turned me to absolute mush. I actually did a dramatic jump up and down at one point (luckily my cat was the only witness).

Isla has created really well-rounded characters and a story that leaves you wanting for nothing. This was the first book of Isla's that I've read, and I can't wait to read more.

Read it if you love:
- Spicy, open door romance
- Slow burn
- Boss x employee
- Grumpy x sunshine
- Fake dating

Available 3 February, just in time for a sexy Valentine's read.

A big thank you to Isla Stelmark and Grey's Promotions for the complimentary copy of this book. The views and opinions expressed in this review are my own.

This was such a fun workplace romance, with not quite enemies but strong dislike to lovers trope. Brielle was the perfect counter to balance out Damian with her sunshine personality with a bit of snark and his no nonsense demanding aura. I was team Brielle from the first time we encountered her. Damian took longer to grow on me, but being able to read from his POV really helped me understand him better and then I was sold. The spice was good, the romance was really enjoyable. I love when the grumpy billionaire secretly has a good heart, and when Damian turns that single minded focus that makes him so good at what he does on our girl, well I was swept off my feet with hearts in my eyes. I can definitely see myself coming back to this as a comfort read in the future.

Damian - stubborn, moody & devilishly handsome

Brielle - opinionated, strong & stunning

This book was everything I wanted from a contemporary romance and then some. The chemistry crackles from the very first chapter, but what really sold me was how real the characters felt. The romance unfolds at a perfect pace, letting the emotional tension build naturally until you’re fully invested and rooting for them with your whole heart.

The writing is warm and immersive, with sharp dialogue, laugh-out-loud moments, and just enough angst to make the payoff incredibly satisfying.

By the end, I was smiling, a little emotional and already wishing I could reread it for the first time. If you’re a fan of heartfelt contemporary romance with depth, charm and serious spark, this one is an absolute must-read. 💖📖

This book. This is the 5th book of Isla's I've read yet I'm still surprised by how good they are. The was she writes is amazing and she makes me really feel how the characters feel while reading, this book really is a movie inside a person's head.
I liked almost all of the characters except THE guy (you'll know after you read it) and everyone seemed very nice and sometimes you just need niceness.
This book made me think of boss/worker relationships, about how they usually don't work out, but this somehow did, and it made the relationship much stronger. Reading this book i started thinking of book couples and which one's would survive and which one's wouldn't and I realised that this one definitely will.
Oh I really need me a Damian.

The plot was great…workplace romance and fake relationship with a grumpy boss ‘Satan’ (Damian) and a strong, confident and sassy employee ‘Brielle’ who isn’t afraid of ‘Satan’ like everyone else in the office.

It was a slow burn but plenty of yearning, banter, stolen glances and flirting which was written perfectly ❤️

I loved the development of Damian’s character from him being the grumpy boss to a gentleman who was also protective of Brielle AND the man can cook 👨‍🍳🤌

It was a sweet, cute, spicy, funny book and I thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn’t put it down!! If you want a fun, easy to read Valentine’s Day book…then this is the one!

Brielle, a very efficient worker with a past. One that ended her last job due to a relationship with her boss. Damian, a workaholic who does not want to fall into the failed relationship like his dad. His business is his life and there is a contract he has to get. There winds up small complications where he has asked Brielle a favor. To be his fake date, then fake girlfriend. Best laid plans and all crash to smithereens as the two discover an attraction neither of them can thwart. Will they succumb to the inevitable, or will they manage to keep all professional?

A cute read with sassy humor. Brielle has just started a new job and her boss does not have the best reputation. Damian is a successful businessman and he is definitely a bit demanding. What he was not expecting was his sassy new employee to change his life…in more ways than one. This slow burn was a fake dating, boss/employee and a bit of an enemies to lovers all rolled into one fun read. These two have sassy banter and perfect chemistry and told a fun story.

There’s always so much more when people look closer. I really liked this, the way she fell first for him and how she worked herself so hard just to prove that she earned everything she got. And omg the way he laid that claim in the board room! Absolutely perfect!!!
There wasn’t anything I did love about this book!

I received a free copy of this book via the author's ARC campaign before launch and am voluntarily leaving a review.
