Ekklesia Rising: The Authority of Christ in Communities of Contending Prayer

Rate this book
JESUS IS BUILDING SOMETHING FAR GREATER THAN A SUNDAY SERVICE Fill in the “Upon this rock I will build My ________?”

For generations, we have been taught that Jesus promised to build His “church“ in Matthew 16:18, so we've dutifully tried to build the church with Him. But there's a big that's not the word He used. Instead, He announced something far more

“I will build My ekklesia!”

A motherlode of identity and mission separate church and ekklesia. If Jesus gave His disciples authority and keys to bind and loose, it means we have been put on offense, so why are we stuck on defense? If we are built to soar in heavenly places with real authority in prayer, then why does our mission often feel grounded on the launch pad? In Ekklesia Rising, you'll learn to soar

The DNA of how revelation produces dominion The “keys” Christ gives, and how to receive and use them The divine design of mature masculine authority with fervent bridal love The role of the Divine Council in heaven and on earth The inner constitution of contending, covenantal communities The powerful symphony of agreement Make no mistake, Jesus will build His ekklesia. His Father's house will be a “House of Prayer for All Nations.” For hundreds of years, we have been the church. Finally, let us become His ruling ekklesia.

This was a great book. An invitation for us to rethink our understanding of Jesus’ declaration to Peter (and his disciples): on this Rock I will build my Church (Ekklesia) -
This book provides a ton of scriptural support for an understanding of the word that is translated quite differently than we have traditionally (and it’s implications). This book stirred me up to commit to more intentional prayer and caused me to think differently about the Church.

Wow! What revelation!

I highly recommend this book to clearly explain the reason we need to know what ekklesia is and why we need to know what it is. I'm going to read it again! So good!

Thought provoking and relevant to today

Still digesting. I liked accurate referencing.
Empowering questions and relevancy to today bought history and the now together. Thank you for writing this.

This book exposed me to the truth that the English translation of the bible substituted the word "church" for the work "ekklesia" in Matthew 16:18 when Jesus told his disciples that he would build his "ekklesia" on the rock and the gates of Hades would not overcome it ... all for political reasons. The implications of this change are huge ... and this will forever impact the way that I pray.
