I absolutely loved "To the Sky" by Roxy Jewell. This was the first book I've read by this author, but it certainly won't be the last. Twenty-six year-old Lena studied music at Juilliard, but she must put aside her passion for piano when her husband, also a musician, is accepted at an expensive law school. To help finance law school, Lena becomes a flight attendant and travels around the world with her friend Meg. As her new career "takes off," Lena faces disapproval from her husband about her long absences and the fact that she and Meg drink and party in the cities they visit. Tempers flare, and Lena begins to question both her career choice and her most intimate relationships.
This steamy romance is full of intrigue and excitement. The characters are surprisingly well-developed for such a short story. I finished this book in one sitting, and will definitely be looking for more books by this author.

"To The Sky" is a contemporary romance about the glamours side of the life of an airline stewardess, sexy Lena Everett, who flies from London to Tokyo, from Brooklyn to Florida, from Paris to Rome. In her journeys she encounters love, lust, sex and betrayal.
Once a musical sensation, Lena travels the world with a world in the company of pilots. bartenders, and other stewardi, martini in hand.
But she can't outrun her yearning for her husband, Jason back home in New York City. Will his betrayals, or hers, pull their high-lying life apart?
Air travel the way it should be, complete with suspense and romance.

What an exciting read. A wonderful story that has it all: love, betrayal, lust…what more do need to know it’s gotta be great! Traveling to hot spots such as London, Tokyo, Paris and Rome will keep you turning those pages. Will Lena betray her husband? I couldn't wait to find out. I highly recommend this enthralling book by Roxy Jewell.

Easy to read but superficial
Very easy to read novellete. Requires little effort from the reader, and the simple plot unfolds quickly. Left me feeling a bit empty - but hey I may take life too seriously.

Lena fell in love with Jason long ago, she’s twenty-five having a midlife, or just love-life, crises. She’s not sure if their love is as strong as before; the only thing she knows is that she’s been everywhere and nowhere at the same time. She’s yet to find herself, feel like herself. And her plans for a three-year anniversary might go to hell and back. Maybe quite literally.
There were no happy ending… well, this is book 1, you never know what book 2 will bring for this character, but when things were starting to unveil for Lena her plane, flying from Rome to NYC, will have quite a fall into nothingness. Maybe she’ll be soaring then too… you never know.
Well, Roxy did a good job, but most of the book felt like a lazily intro to something bigger. Maybe it was, but it felt too short for my liking. And too slow, for that matter. I don’t know if I’ll pick up (soon) the next book in the series, “To the Sea”, but it will be on my to-read-list for sure. Lena is a complicated loving character in search of her true self, and she needs to figure out if living the life with the man she once fell in love with is enough, or if she needs a better airplane ticket to life. This is what I think it will be, no author in sane mind will kill off their main character on a trilogy, am I right?

I think this could have been a really interesting story, if the book had been longer and the characters and plot line had a chance to develop.
I don't really care for the author's style. The beginning of the book seemed pretentious with its choice of descriptive words, & I am someone who enjoys good vocabulary. Somehow, in this case, it just seemed out of place.
In addition, there were many spelling and grammatical errors; it was fairly obvious that a live person did not proofread this text. There was also an over abundance of sentence fragments. While I think these can be used to great effect if used sparingly (kind of like a good swear word), seeing them over and over again just got annoying.

"To The Sky: A Stewardess - A Contemporary Love Story" by Roxy Jewell caught my eye because I used to work for an airline. The author reveals a lot about the ins and outs of the job, on and off the aircraft, and choses that as the setting for her romance story.
The difficulties of having a steady relationship with the unsteady work life are shown well. Lena and Meg are likeable characters, the locations are adding spice to the story and the book shows the what life in the sky can be like.
A great story with a few intriguing surprises in store. Well recommended for fans of romance and travel advantures.

An exciting, romantic read!
This is a unique, contemporary, romance story, with plenty of travel adventure, about two stewardesses bouncing from city to city and finding romance at various stops. It’s well-written and the characters are believable.

Great. Read
I enjoyed the book. It is well written. An enjoyable insight into young, ambitious and creative couple that has reality hit them in the face. Life changes drastically. Some interesting twists and turns.

Great story of love and betrayal that takes the reader all over the world, from Tokyo to Paris, London and Rome. An exciting, romantic read!
