Finally, a growth book that doesn't focus on the simple message "work harder".
How many times have our parents told us that if you want to get on in life, you have to work harder. How many teachers, books, gurus, influencers, echo this same message.
Well, this book turns this on its head.
It shows that the entrepreneurs who create the most value are not the ones that work hardest. Rather. It’s the ones that build the systems, or rather the platform and infrastructure that allow organizations to scale automatically.
The research in this book is well grounded and revealing. For example, “only 5.4% of entrepreneurs operate with exponential architecture” which I took to mean operating systems capable of expanding. That low number is both shocking and sobering, and a wake-up moment for more organizations to change their ways.
The main take-away in this book is to start building your ecosystem – and, boy, that is such an important message in these challenging times.
The publisher was kind enough to send me an advanced copy.

A recommended book for all business executives.
I picked up this advanced copy because I'm in business, yet I feel like I'm drowning in slow motion. Sullivan and Bowen name that feeling on page one. What I liked most is that they don't shame you for the hard hours you put into your work. Instead, they show you a different door – a new way forward. The section on "Greater Ambition" and the 25-year horizon made me cry a little (in a good way). It's not about hustling more. It's about building something that runs without you. A recommended book to read for all business owners.

I had the privilege of reading a pre-release copy of The Greater Game: Your 100x Blueprint for Exponential Growth, Freedom, and Legacy, and it’s one of the clearest strategic roadmaps I’ve encountered for entrepreneurs who want more than short-term wins. This book isn’t about hustle for hustle’s sake—it’s about designing a life, a business, and a legacy that compound over decades.

What resonated most with me is how The Greater Game aligns with the work we do at Igniting Souls and Instant IP: clarity first, long-term thinking, and building assets that outlast you. Dan Sullivan and John Bowen challenge entrepreneurs to stop playing small, stop optimizing for linear growth, and start architecting exponential outcomes using timeless principles and measurable frameworks.

The emphasis on freedom, impact, and legacy mirrors how I view intellectual property—not just as protection, but as a multiplier of purpose. This book gives language, structure, and confidence to think in 25-year horizons while executing decisively today.

If you’re serious about building something meaningful, scalable, and enduring—this isn’t just a book. It’s a blueprint for playing a greater game.

A solid blueprint for all in the world of business
I have read a number of "grow your business" books. Many give you sound advice but no clear actions to follow. The Greater Game gives you both, solid advice and actions to follow, as if it is more a handbook. For example, it includes:
• A 5-Stage Activation Framework
• A "100x Architecture Draft" exercise with three concrete steps
• A Scorecard to measure your ambition level (1-72 scale)
• A free dashboard to benchmark against the top 5.4%
• Specific tools like the "Security Stack" and "Absence Multiplier"
This isn't a book to read on the beach. It's a genuine workbook for building a business that can practically run without you. Impressive!

Recommended for entrepreneurs looking to optimize the way they run their business.
Based on the advanced copy of The Greater Game I received, this is a business strategy book for established entrepreneurs who feel trapped by their own success. The core take-away for me is that exponential growth (100x) requires abandoning optimization ("working harder") in favor of architecture (building platforms, IP, and self-managing systems).
The book includes detailed research, case studies, a 10-multiplier framework, and a companion dashboard. It's published by Hay House, and the tone is direct, data-driven, and occasionally provocative ("If you're looking for your first million, we'll frustrate you"). Recommended for entrepreneurs looking to optimize the way they run their business.

What surprised me most about The Greater Game was how future-focused it is. Most entrepreneurial books are obsessed with immediate wins, scaling fast, or maximizing hustle culture, but this one takes a very different approach. It’s centred on building something meaningful over +20 years, which made the ideas grounded and realistic to me.
I really liked the way the authors frame entrepreneurship as a compounding process. The concept of exponential growth is discussed financially, mentally and strategically - very complete. The book encourages readers to think like architects of a future legacy rather than simply operators of a business. That shift in perspective was probably my favorite part of the entire book.

As someone who recently started a small online business, I found this book very encouraging. A lot of entrepreneurship books make success sound stressful and exhausting, but The Greater Game focuses on strategy, balance, and creating long-term value. I liked that approach because it's sustainable.
One thing that called my attention was the idea of measuring success differently. The book explains that growth is not only about money but also about freedom, relationships, and impact. That perspective really stayed with me. The audiobook format also worked well because the conversations felt natural and easy to listen to during commutes or workouts. All in all, it felt motivating without being overwhelming.

What stood out to me most about The Greater Game was its focus on ownership, legacy, and intentional power-building. As a Black woman navigating academic and professional spaces that often undervalue our vision, I found the message deeply affirming. The framework encourages entrepreneurs to think beyond survival and toward generational impact, which resonates strongly in communities historically excluded from wealth-building conversations. While some sections feel geared toward elite business circles, the larger themes of strategic thinking and self-determination are powerful. It’s an ambitious, motivating read that challenges readers to imagine bigger futures for themselves and their communities.

Research-backed, not just inspirational fluff
In my opinion, what sets The Greater Game apart from typical business books is the Greater Multipliers Study of 1,016 entrepreneurs. The finding that over 90% of entrepreneurs remain trapped in optimization their business is near stunning. The authors then provide case studies with quantifiable results (650% revenue growth for Walker, 12x growth for VanDuyne), a 10-multiplier framework, and a free dashboard to benchmark your GMI score. All in all, an essential guide for any founder serious about growing their business.
I received an advanced copy.

It's a very good read with an ambitious but not aggressive tone. Some business books try so hard to sound intense and revolutionary that they become exhausting to read. Here, the authors sound more like experienced mentors calmly sharing lessons learned over decades of coaching high-level entrepreneurs.

I believe that the book is equally useful for established business owners and younger entrepreneurs trying to think bigger. It encourages readers to zoom out and build intentionally rather than react emotionally to every challenge or opportunity.

Overall, this is like a strong guide for anyone who wants to combine business success with long-term vision and personal fulfilment.

I’ve read a lot of entrepreneurship and self-development books, and one thing that often frustrates me is how repetitive they can feel. The Greater Game surprised me because it approaches growth from a broader and more strategic angle. Instead of focusing only on productivity or profit, the book asks bigger questions about the kind of future entrepreneurs actually want to create for themselves over the next few decades.
The emphasis on measurement is one of the things I found most interesting from this read. The idea that most people track the wrong things in business really made me stop and think.

From an analytical standpoint, The Greater Game succeeds because it approaches entrepreneurship like a scalable operating system rather than a collection of motivational anecdotes. The “10 Greater Measurements Framework™” functions almost like a strategic metrics dashboard, encouraging iterative evaluation and long-term optimization. I appreciated the focus on compounding growth over decades instead of short-term disruption. Some concepts are presented in broad, aspirational language, but the underlying systems thinking is solid. Readers who enjoy structured models and measurable approaches to business development will likely find this book intellectually satisfying.

Within the entrepreneurial self-development genre, The Greater Game stands apart because it avoids many of the clichés that dominate business books today. Instead of obsessing over hustle culture, the author emphasizes systems, measurable growth, and legacy-building over a 25-year horizon. The “10 Greater Measurements Framework™” gives the book a structured identity similar to strategic planning manuals, though with a more motivational tone. Fans of books like The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People or Thinking in Bets will appreciate the blend of vision and actionable methodology. While some concepts feel familiar, the scale and long-range thinking make it distinctive.

There’s a lot to admire in The Greater Game, especially the ambition behind its message. The long-term strategic focus is refreshing in a market crowded with shallow “get rich fast” advice. That said, the book occasionally overextends itself with corporate-style language and repeated claims about exponential success. Some sections could have been tighter and more concise. Still, the frameworks are genuinely useful, and the author clearly understands high-level entrepreneurial thinking. Readers willing to push through the heavier passages will find valuable insights about leadership, planning, and sustained growth.

What makes The Greater Game compelling is its attempt to redefine entrepreneurial success in cultural and generational terms rather than purely financial ones. The book argues that wealth, influence, and legacy should be intentionally engineered over time, which feels especially relevant in an era obsessed with instant visibility and short attention spans. While the tone occasionally leans toward elite executive culture, the larger message about strategic self-determination and sustainable impact remains powerful. It’s ambitious, polished, and deeply reflective of modern conversations around leadership, influence, and long-term relevance.

Okay, I admit it. I saw the title with the words "100x Blueprint" and wondered what it could refer to. The authors soon earned my respect by backing up its definition with real data (based on over 1000 entrepreneurs surveyed, and stories like that of Paul VanDuyne, who grew his engineering firm from 50Mto600M after the age of 65. There are several terms, perhaps even jargons, to get used too in the book but the "Optimization Trap vs. Exponential Architecture" distinction was very convincing. If you're stuck with a way forward for your business, read this before your competitor does.

This read is very interesting and simple to follow. The authors' expertise can be grasp in every page. A strength of this read is the long-term vision behind the book. Most business books focus on the next quarter or year, while this one pushes readers to think 25 years ahead. That perspective made the content really meaningful and strategic.
Overall, this seems like a valuable read for ambitious entrepreneurs who want sustainable growth and a bigger sense of purpose behind their work. It's a must read which I recommend.

The language is simple, it's not full of difficult jargon. Also, I like that it doesn't talk about abstract concepts which are difficult to get. As a reader, I could see that the authors used all their years of experience to create this book. It really shows.
It's an encouraging read and helps us evaluate success from different perspectives. It is a must read.

"The Greater Game" provides us readers with an interesting perspective on entrepreneurship because it combines strategic growth with personal vision in a way that's genuinely motivating. It could simply tell readers to work harder or think bigger, but this book encourages a more intentional approach to building a business and a life over the long term, which I really appreciate. I liked that the focus wasn’t only on financial success, but also on freedom, leadership, and creating something meaningful.

A solid read that's simple to follow. The writing style is professional but totally approachable. Dan Sullivan and John Bowen explain complex ideas in a way that is organized and practical and not at all academic; this helps everyone to understand all the concepts. The framework-based structure also helps keep the content focused. I especially enjoyed the discussions around compounding growth and how small strategic decisions today can create massive opportunities years down the line.
It's an interesting book which taught me many things.

I'm glad I could read this beforehand. I really appreciated the balance between mindset and practical application I found in this book. It's clear that the authors have extensive experience coaching entrepreneurs, and that comes through in the way they explain concepts. I think everyone can understand this read with no problem. They used simple words and it's not full of jargon. The Entrepreneurial Dashboard and measurement tools seem designed to help readers actually implement the ideas instead of just feeling temporarily motivated after reading. It's a very good guide which I recommend.

This book honestly made me feel hopeful. I picked it up thinking it would be another dry business book, but it surprised me. The writing feels encouraging, like someone is genuinely trying to help you dream bigger instead of just throwing motivational buzzwords at you. I liked how it focused on long-term success and not just making quick money. Some parts were a little dense for me, but overall I walked away feeling energized and more confident about my future. It’s the kind of book you read when you need a reset.

This book is absolutely electric for anyone who’s serious about building something meaningful. The Greater Game doesn’t just tell you to dream bigger — it practically dares you to rethink your entire future. I loved the emphasis on multiplying impact and creating a legacy instead of chasing short-term wins. There were multiple moments where I had to stop and reread a passage because it hit so hard. The Entrepreneurial Dashboard™ alone is worth the read. If you’re ambitious, driven, or hungry for the next level, this book will light a fire under you.

What really impressed me about The Greater Game is how actionable it is. I've always thought that many business books are filled with big promises but offer little guidance. In this read, the authors provide frameworks and tools that help translate vision into practical steps.
The Entrepreneurial Dashboard concept was certainly interesting because it encourages readers to evaluate progress from multiple angles, not just financial results. That broader perspective makes the book more balanced and realistic.

I really enjoy books on leadership and personal growth and I found "The Greater Game" to be an inspiring read. The authors do an excellent job of helping readers expand their thinking beyond immediate goals and focus on what they truly want their future to look like.
I liked the idea of exponential growth. Rather than encouraging people to simply work harder, the book focuses on creating systems and making decisions that compound over time. That message really resonated with me and I think it's the most useful thing I got from this read.

This is a thought-provoking business book that encourages readers to think much bigger about their future. It has an interesting long-term perspective. This seems different from many books that focus only on short-term wins. The authors challenge you to look beyond immediate goals and consider the bigger impact you want to create. The writing is clear, motivating, and packed with ideas that sparked new ways of thinking about growth and success. Even when I didn't agree with every point, I found plenty of value in the overall message.

I chose reading "The Greater Game" and expected a typical business strategy book, but it turned out to be much more than that, which I'm glad. The authors combine entrepreneurial wisdom with a deeper discussion about purpose, impact, and legacy. They made me think and re think.
The read encouraged me to stop focusing so much on daily distractions and think about where I want to be years from now.
The idea of designing a future rather than simply reacting to circumstances was one of the strongest takeaways for me.

I'm recommending this to others who I work with. Sullivan (founder of Strategic Coach) and Bowen (CEG) have distilled decades of working with thousands of entrepreneurs into a tight, actionable framework. I really liked the QR code dashboard at the end of each chapter turning reading into doing. I encourage others to actually use the exercises included in this book It could make the world of difference.
