James Quinn writes an insightful book for the occasional week-end horseplayer and the more serious horseplayer /handicapper intent on studying all the angles of the horse-racing sport . I would have liked to see Mr. Quinn spend more time on gauging a horse's conditioning and closing speed potential for overcoming the leader in the stretch. Nice exposition nonetheless.
