Crafting twists and chasing shadows is what I love to do. I started writing in the YA Fantasy realm mainly due to writing a book for my son, which is quite the story in itself. But I've always had a passion for thrillers and twists ever since seeing The Usual Suspects when I was a teenager.

I was fortunate to receive an ARC of The Architect and absolutely loved it. This is the second book I read by Adam Roach and he has become my new favorite author! I thoroughly enjoyed the Ritualist but The Architect truly blew me away. The description of the book is quite accurate but it was so much more.

This is a fast paced roller coaster of a book with so many twists and turns to keep you guessing you won’t want to put the book down. My Thanksgiving dinner was actually delayed an hour because I was so engrossed in the book I forgot to put the turkey in the oven…hey it happens.

As I was reading I kept thinking what a great series/movie this would be. Picturing Daniel Dae Kim or Will Yun Lee in the role of Vince Tanaka. Hello Hollywood are you listening?!?

The Architect hooked me right away — there’s something truly unsettling about watching “accidents” slowly turn into a calculated pattern, and I loved following Vince Tanaka as he tries to make sense of it all. He’s a refreshingly human protagonist, and his vulnerability makes the tension hit harder. The idea that everyday things can be weaponized gave the story a creeping paranoia that stayed with me long after I closed the book. It’s intense, fast, and at times genuinely chilling, but in a way that made it impossible to put down. If you like thrillers that get under your skin, this one delivers.

It’s been a month or so since I read The Ritualist and in typical me-fashion, I’ve forgotten pretty much all of it. So I struggled through part of this book because I couldn’t remember who some of the prior characters were, and there was little to no explanation provided.

The other thing that bothered me was the continued references to a “niggle at the back of my mind” (12 of them, according to kindle search).

Overall I did enjoy the storyline and am looking forward to the next instance in the series.

I just finished 'The Architect,' Adam Roach's second book in the series, and it's phenomenal!

The plotting is remarkably complex, with relentless suspense and twists you won't see coming. I was unable to put it down for long.

Beyond the thrilling plot, the characters are well developed. I felt the deep emotions alongside many of the characters.

It's an engaging read from start to finish. Highly recommend it!

First time ARC review. I received a pre-publish copy, and here's my honest opinion. Adam pulled me in right away, and then continued to keep me enjoying a great story. Plenty of surprise twists, but they flow nicely with the intracate plot. The characters are real, with their own feelings and failings. I missed lunch one day, couldn't put it down. Fun read, and a new special author. Nice flashbacks give you a reason to read his other stories (which I have already done).

Just finished The Architect by Adam Roach, OMG I had just a hard time putting the book down, I love his writing. The story continues from book one The Ritualist.
I find myself becoming "friends" with the characters ( Vince, Corbin, and Taryn are my faves )
It ended on such a cliff hanger, I cant wait until book 3 comes out.

Vince Tanaka’s life goes with his move to San Diego but the serial killers follow him and Tanaka has to go back to New York to help with things. And what things they are. I can not wait for book 3 but I also would like a book with no cliffhangers (they are a bit annoying). Still a great read and I recommend this book.

This was yet another interesting mystery thriller in the series. The main character, Detective Vince Tanaka is quite interesting and likeable. The story is fast-paced with interesting situations. I enjoyed reading this fast paced mystery.
