All I wanted that day was to pay the Fiddle Creek invoice for the previous month’s purchase of straw and chicken feed. However, an open shoebox sitting near the cash register, a loud peeping coming from inside, was to change my life.
If ever an animal deserves their story told, Hazel does. The lesson’s she taught, the devotion she gave – the tears and laughter I shared with her – fill these pages. I wrote them to honor her. I wrote to have a written record of all that she was.
