The twelfth and final part of the serial novel, APOSTLES
After nearly forty years as a school teacher, Harry Galbraith has retired. He’s looking forward to some peace and quiet, and believes that when he finally leaves St Matthew’s it will be for the very last time: nothing could call him back.
But then a shocking death occurs, and Harry finds himself inexorably connected, and – try as he might – he cannot extricate himself from the horrors that build, and build, as the year progresses.
Each month brings a new horror, and the notion of a tranquil retirement is a distant memory, as Harry faces a race against time to prevent further tragedy. Tragedy that might just be of his own making.
Presented in twelve parts, released sequentially through 2025, APOSTLES is Stephen Barnard’s first serial novel.
Stephen Barnard has been writing fiction (and non-fiction cricket exploits) for a number of years. The success of his short story collection 'A Very Bad Year' encouraged him to push further. He now has over 20 published works, mainly in the horror/suspense genre. When he's not writing he teaches, reads, snoozes and binge-watches horror films.
awww no didn't expect it to end like that, made me a bit emotional!
This overall series has been a wild ride, 12 chaptes over 12 months was sometimes a challenge because just as i really got into the story it ended and I hate to wait (that's a me problem I know😂) but it's been a fun journey!
Part 12 brings the monumental series to an end in a tense and emotional culmination. I've absolutely loved this series, and found the characters interesting and fascinating- both the protagonists and the antagonists. Stephen has a way of really bringing the heart of all his characters to life, and having them the forefront of all his stories, and this series has been no different. Its been a fun storyline, and I've really enjoyed all the twists and turns that took us to this dramatic conclusion
Harry has spent months being haunted by visions. Now he thinks he can stop the deaths. What is the cost? Pulse pounding conclusion to a spine chilling read.
That was heartbreaking. A great conclusion to a harrowing story of supernatural horror, full of regrets and bad choices. Never expected that a tale about a teacher on his retirement would grow into such a mesmerizing account of supernatural attacks and cult horror!
