This is a fun winter monster romance! It’s part of Hallow’s Cove, the multi-author series of interconnected standalones.

Human FMC Daphne arrives in Hallow’s Cove to learn how to ski so she won’t embarrass her fiance and his fancy family. FYI, her fiance is the worst, which Daphne quickly realizes. Luckily, MMC Yeti Andri is there to literally catch her when she falls.

I enjoyed this story. It’s a cozy winter read, set loosely around Christmas, but mostly just fun and snowy. The MMC was so sweet and endearing, and I loved the FMC’s personal growth.

Overall, it’s another great addition to the Hallow’s Cove series. I can’t wait to read the next one, When Mermaids Fly, scheduled for early 2026.

This was such a good read! It tugged at my heartstrings, made me want to throw a dude into a snowbank, had me cheering for women learning their worth, and sent me giggling because hot monster lovin'. It was absolutely like a really good, cozy, makes your heart happy Hallmark movie but with yummy spice. It had it all.

Daphne is a human who aspires to be an historian.

Andri is a snowman who owns (!) a ski resort.

They meet when her absolute creep of a fiancee forces her to learn how to ski. He offers to teach he because she cute & he is not impressed with her fiancee. They spend time together. He treats her well and takes care of her. She doesn't know what to do with that treatment or being called "beautiful". They grow closer. Creep crosses a line and it is the last straw. So, they grow *closer*. Then a storm happens and they are stuck in a cabin together because they are the gods' favourites. Goals.

Daphne was raised raised in foster care and, although she doesn't think she deservesnit, she wants love and a family. I loved watching her blossom as her eyes were opened to what love was not (I would call it abuse) and what love us.

Andri has been alone his own life per the customs of snowpeople. He has a great found family but in meeting Daphne realizes how much he would like love & a partner. I love watching him fall for her and give her time to process things.

Each visit to Hallow's Cove is so much fun and I love getting to see or hear about characters from other books.

This was my first book by Petra and am excited to read more. My brain liked how the story flowed and how the characters were written.

This is a spicy, sweet monster Romcom that is the perfect winter read with all the snow and cuddles you could want.

I have loved all the hallow cove books but this one was special to me. It was my first story about a snowman (yeti). And he is just the cutest cinnamon roll ever. Andri takes care of all the people in his life and works hard. All he really wants is a family. Daphne also wants a family and she is so close to getting what she always has wanted, she and her fiance are taking a vacation so she can learn how to ski so she won't embarrass him in front of his family...
Everyone needs a snowman in their life is my conclusion.

no for real, i usually really love petra's books, they're always fun monster/alien books i know i can just sit back and enjoy. but this one just didn't do it for me AT ALL. i loved andri and daphane, andri was such a cute and caring character and daphane was loveable. but other than that i just was not vibing with them or the story at all. and usually when the plot isn't getting me, the spice will. and unfortunately the spice was worse😭 holding out hope for petra's next release as usually i love her books.

Everything they’ve said about this book is true. It is a Monster Hallmark book! Except it DOES have spice and a blue sparkly dong and fluids that taste of mint.

Oh, this is a monster romance, so if you’re unclear as to what that entails maybe find out first before reading this book

Hallow’s Cove is a monster town and this story specifically focuses on the ski resort of that town. There are other books about different characters and sections of the town.

I suggest you read them because the town is amazing and I can’t wait to live there *swoon*

Andri is a yet who also owns the skiing resort. He is the only one of his kind and we learn a little bit about yet lore in this story.

Here the yetis abandon their young and it seems to act as a sort of survive of the fittest which in turn means Andri doesn’t really know much about his species.

This means he’s left figuring out not only how they mate, but what it all entails for him to be in love or romantically linked with someone

Daphne is the human FMC who found herself in Hallow’s Cove because of her very toxic fiancé…well…ex-fiancé now because she dumps him. You gotta read to see why. They’re whole relationship is awful

Daphne, like Andri, has abandonment issues and is incredibly lonely. They both seem to be searching for family and thankfully they find it in each other.

Both characters grow though Daphne grows more because she’s learning to be a better version and more confident version of herself thanks to the support from Andri

It’s kind of a slow burn because the spice happens later in the book towards the end…like third act maybe is what it would be called

Oh! There’s a blizzard which really helps kickstart this minty affair *wink* so thank the heavens for that blizzard.

I like that Daphne is not only an ice skating queen, but that she’s from a poor working class family…well single parent family with addiction that it makes her character aware of how she has to work for what she needs. Like, there is some sense of “real” life in her that helps make it feel believable like a Hallmark movie.

Anyways, this is a HEA story and there is an epilogue surprise that I love! Mostly because the baby /pregnancy trope does not bother me

I loved the return to Hallow's Cove! This was my first book by Petra Palerno and it won't be the last. I had great fun reading it. Well not all the time, Gerald made me see red and I wanted to slap that man silly, but the sweet yeti kept me sane ;)
Daphne was a young woman, who had a relationship with her university professor, Gerald. They were caught and of course when there was a choice of him leaving his career behind or her dropping out and losing her scholarship, the ass persuaded her to abandon her education. The man was such a catch (bleh, he wasn't, at all) that she obeyed his every wish, whim and command. She was very unsure of herself and the man preyed on that. Thankfully she grew up a spine when they were in Hallow's Cove together and dumped him.
Andri was a yeti in his late 20s, he was the owner of Hallow's Hill Ski-lodge and a giant sweetheart. The guy was huge, muscular and furry, with horns and fangs, but he was the least threatening monster ever. He was kind, gentle and sweet. When he saw Gerald treating Daphne reprehensibly he wanted to strangle the man, and I envy Andri's restraint. He stepped in whenever Daphne needed help or reassurance and I loved how obsessed he became with her. He wasn't sure why he was falling so hard for her and it was adorable that he couldn't control himself.
Their relationship was so cute. They never had a family, both needing someone warm and caring to build one, and they stumbled on each other in a Hallmark movie fashion ;) Yeah they had some problems along the way, but all of them were resolved rather swiftly, so we could focus on the coziness and warmth of their love filled cabin. The setting was great, Hallow's Cove is always cute, but I enjoyed the snow, fireplaces and hot cocoa so much!

This was another sweet Hallow's Cover story. Petra Palerno is a favorite author whom I follow closely. What is fun is the different Hallow's cove stories are written by many of my favorite authors. So, on to Snowed in at Hallow's Cove, an Abominable Snowman story. The commissioned art portrays him so stinking adorable. Whether chicken or egg, Palerno's Yeti is, too.

The book begins with our heroine, Daphne, at the ski village above Monster's Hollow with her fiance. We immediately learn that she is a bit klutzy, and her fiance is completely intolerant and rude. He is putting her down, for not knowing how to downhill ski right on her first time on the skinny little rails attached to her feet. Andri happens to hear what is going on and upon catching her from falling, offers to teach her for free. Her fiance who is loaded, or at least comes from money could afford to pay Andri, but takes it as his due. Again and again the fiance is verbally abusive, from the slopes, to the cafe, to the bar she is waiting for him in. He is spoiled and not self aware enough to realize he might have flaws or be part of the problem.

So, this is the set up for a truly warm and cozy, pardon the puns, romance. Daphne is not experienced with Yetis, but neither is Andri. As they find their way to each other, there are numerous wintery obstacles. This is novella length, and not quite instalove. Time is taken to get to know one another, yet(i), when it gets spicy, it gets spicy. There's a reason Andri wears jorts in the dead of winter. I enjoyed this frothy love story.

Another Hallow’s Cove story! I was so excited to see Petra’s story in this series and immediately dove into it. It’s starts out with Daphne coming to hallow’s cove with her HORRIBLE fiancée Gerald, to learn to ski so she “doesn’t embarrass him at the family trip” in a month. She hates skiing, it seems like he hates her, and we ALL hate Gerald. Then Andri, sweet, sensitive, caring and smoking hot Andri comes and immediately feels a connection to her. The connection is immediate and once he saves her from a horrible situation, it’s all systems go. Their chemistry was so cute and hot, tore between taking it slow and not getting enough of each other. I liked that Daphne wanted to get her feet under her before she dived into something new.

However, I feel like they moved FAST. Like one moment Daphne wants to go to school and have a job and be independent and the next she’s all in, no questions. I’m not even sure how long they were together until all the stuff at the end happened. It kinda seemed like Daphne’s dreams got thrown aside, which bothered me a bit. But other than that, it’s such a good winter/holiday read. The vibes are amazing, the small town Christmas hallmark classic. Plus you couldn’t help but love Andri and Daphne together, it was nice seeing someone take care of her and support her. Overall, it was still good and a great addition to the series!

At the beginning, it was easy to see that MFC Daphne had made some poor life choices. The way her fiancé, Gerald, acted had me fuming in just the first chapter alone, and it only got worse. I felt for Daphne; she's had a hard life. She was awkward but sweet and didn’t deserve to be treated the way she was. The change in her from the beginning to the end of the book was astonishing. Daphne was brighter and more confident. Andri was a big part of why Daphne was able to open up. At first, he seemed like he liked to party, but deep down, he was lonely. The adorable yeti was goofy, patient, and incredibly sweet. Andri made me smile. I adored him.


Petra Palerno's Snowed In at Hallow's Cove is the perfect cozy winter read. The weather was cold and crisp, set at a little cozy ski resort with the town of Hallows Cove as a backdrop. The story was fantastic. Winter activities, friendly faces, both new and old, storms, and one horrible fiancé all make for great entertainment. The romance was ridiculously sweet. Both Andri and Daphne were craving connection and found each other when they needed each other the most. They were so awkwardly cute together. Everything was easy between them. The story went by so quickly, and I loved every minute.

This was exactly the kind of cozy winter monster romance I wanted. Snowed In at Hallow’s Cove drops you straight into a snowy ski town, gives you a truly awful fiancé you can hate on sight, and then immediately counters him with Andri, a yeti ski instructor who is patient, warm, and unapologetically into Daphne just as she is.

I loved how much of this story revolves around Daphne learning she’s allowed to take up space. Watching her go from anxious, constantly corrected, and shrinking herself to someone who laughs, relaxes, and actually enjoys where she is felt really satisfying. Andri is a golden retriever in yeti form. He’s supportive without being pushy, playful without being obnoxious, and genuinely kind in a way that makes the contrast with her fiancé impossible to ignore. And he looks great in a pair of jorts!

The setting is just lovely. Snowy slopes, cocoa breaks, small town monster charm, and a festive holiday atmosphere. If you’re looking for a cozy, funny, snowy monster romance with a sweet MMC, a klutzy FMC finding her footing, and satisfying "leave the trash man behind" energy, this one delivers.

Today we venture back out to the little town of Hallow's Cove. Did you know it has a cozy little ski resort? It's not big, it's just the right size and run by the town's very own Abominable Snowman. In this book we have a cute little Daphne. History lover, glasses wearer and engaged to man everyone wants to HATE. Seriously. I almost kept track of the number of times I responded to his dialogue with "The F*@k you said?!" but it would have been redundant, because it was ALMOST every line. Yes. Be prepared to HATE him.
In the juxtaposition we meet Andri who is sweet, fun, caring, and willing to lend a hand in a pinch. He too hates Daphne's fiance as much as I did, if not more. ...probably more.
He LITERALLY scoops her up on the worst day of her life while she's on a "vacation." (Worst vacation ever if you ask me.)
Andri helps her out a lot and helps and encourages her in way she hasn't been, maybe ever. You can probably guess where this is going. Because Andri has been drawn to our lady from the start. Almost like a visceral need to be near her.
I just really enjoyed these two and you know kudos to a guy who is manly enough to wear jorts in winter. (snerk)

Snowed In with a Soft-Hearted Yeti

Quickie review:

This is peak cozy winter monster romance goodness. The kind that feels like a Hallmark movie wandered into a snow globe and accidentally picked up a very hot yeti. Snowed In is fluffy, funny, and surprisingly tender, with crackling lodge fires, cocoa fueled banter, and a golden retriever yeti MMC who radiates warmth even when everything else is frozen solid. Andri is kind, patient, and quietly devoted in a way that makes every interaction feel safe and swoony, while Daphne’s journey toward recognizing her own worth is deeply satisfying without ever feeling heavy.

Sweet meets spicy in all the best ways here. The Hallow's Cove series is always a great choice if you want a quick, low stress HEA read and this book is no exception. Our FMC has settled for WAY too little with her current fiancee, sacrificing so much of her life for his desires. He's a jerkwad with virtually no redeeming qualities and just when you think he can't sink lower, he does. Thankfully, our FMC stands up for herself but that also leaves her on her own in a strange town.

Luckily, the MMC resident yeti (apparently snowman is more accurate) is a little alarmed at how drawn he is to her so he helps her out in every way possible. The reader is pretty aware what his draw to her is but since he has so little interaction with his fellow snowpeople, he doesn't realize she's his fated mate until pretty far along and only with the help of his non-human friends.

This book focuses so much on how much damage the piece of crap fiancee did to our FMC and how our MMC helps her realize who she is and what she's worth while trying to suppress his desperate need to be her mate so he won't scare her away. Super cute.

This was a very modern read. We have a fun college lifestyle snowman. Cause he doesn’t like being called an abdominal lol. Andri is the owner of a ski resort and also the life of the party. He smokes. He drinks. He does the tripod thing. He lives his life. Then he meet a curvy human female with a sh!tty man and all his warm and cozys bust forth.
Daphne has had a hard life. She lived in her car as a kid with her mom. She was in foster care. She was on scholarship at a university. Then her ethic professor took notice of her and they were outted. So plans for a marriage and her dropping out happens. D!ckhead or Gerald as his birth certificate says steps up and things gets so shinny in a back handed kind of way.
She gets a family of rich posh ppl that I would jump kick myself. He gives her backhanded compliments and insults her left and right. Then we get the 💣 that is dropped or I should say unveiled and she is back to unemployed homeless and with a twisted ankle. Thank heavens for a fluffy adorably hot 🥵 Andri. The snowman in furry armor comes to all of her rescues. And I mean all 😘

While this may have been my first Petra Palerno book, it certainly won't be my last. Palerno has a unique and heartwarming style of writing that transports you to the snowy slopes of Hallows Cove.
We meet a loveable set of characters (plus one that's so hateable) including Daphne, a "klutzy historian" who just wants someone to love her for who she is, Gerald, an uptight rich man who wants to make sure Daphne can impress his family, Andri, an awkward yet chill abominable snowman, and more.
The book was well written and the settings were just so well described that I felt like I was right in the book, struggling with skiing just as much as Daphne is😅
All in all, it's a cozy and delightful read, perfect for the holiday season. Best read while curled up in a blanket with a cup of hot cocoa :)
Note: make sure you know what a monster romance is before you read! I did know so i wasn't caught off guard, but it might happen to others. Happy reading!!

I was so exciting to get the ARC email for this book! It’s the next book in the Hallow’s Cove Series (highly recommend if you like cozy small town Monster Romance) Snowed in follows Daphne, a long suffering fiancé to an absolute arsehole and Andri, Hallow’s Coves nicest Jorts wearing frat boy. To start off Andri is the sweetest, he respectful and considerate and everything warm you want to read in a seasonal MMC. Daphne is also a sweetheart and we spend the first quarter of the book completely with Lerana & Andri and wanting her to run the opposite direction of her fiancé. I liked the Ski resort setting, it was honestly perfect to read during cold British wintertime and so cosy. I recommend enjoying this book with a hot chocolate or mocha latte in hand 100%. The ending was perfect too! No spoilers here but it was adorable.

Ugh I love this series so much that i can’t even stand it! I’ve been dying to read Petra’s book, I mean a snowy book always sounds like a good idea and let me tell you it didn’t disappoint!

Daphne comes to Hallows Cove engaged to the worst asshole, seeking to learn how to ski to impress his family and ended with the most amazing Yeti who literally worships the ground she walks… talk to me about an upgrade!!! Andri is just the best, he’s so attentive, funny and adorable, the way he’s just so smitten with her just makes me swoon!

And Daphne… she’s so precious and sweet, I loved seeing her grow up into her own persona and not this woman who puts up with an idiot just to not being alone, and it breaks my heart that that was the reason… she and Andri are so alike in that way and I love for them to found a family on each other❤️

I completely adore this story, the characters are amazing, it’s was funny, cute and emotional, a literary journey that makes you heart warming!

It was a such a treat to be able to venture back into Hallow's Cove during the winter. No matter who has written a Hallow's Cove book, I can be guaranteed a cozy, spicy time. ❤️

In Snowed In we get introduced to Andri, the local yeti, who is the owner of the local ski resort. He is immediately drawn to a guest, Daphne, but thinks nothing will ever happen because she's engaged, and even though her fiance Gerald is a Grade-A D-Bag, Daphne is a good person who would never cheat. (Seriously, Gerald is the literal WORST: conceited and belittling are just scratching the surface of his personality flaws).

When Daphne's relationship with Gerald (thankfully) implodes, Andri is there to literally catch Daphne. Despite how attracted to each other they are, their blossoming relationship moves ahead pretty slowly (for a novella). Andri is so sweet and the exact thing Daphne needs after the disaster of a relationship with Gerald.

This is the first book I've read in this series and it's a very sweet and hopefully story about finding love. Daphne is trying to please her fiance and his family so she goes with him to learn how to ski. But her fiance isn't helpful at all so she is left to her own devices. Luckily for her, there's Andri, the Yeti who owns the ski resort she's at. He offers to help her. The more time they spend with one another, the more each comes to realize that they both have rather lonely lives despite being connected to so many others.

I really enjoyed this one. I enjoyed seeing both Daphne and Andri's character growth and their realization that the both deserve more than what they've settled for in their own lives. The author really made me feel connected to the characters so they were more relatable. Definitely recommended for monster romance lovers. Now I have to go check out the rest of the series.

I just want to shout from the rooftop that ANDRI AND DAPHNE DESERVE THE WORLD! These two have never truly had a partner in their lives that completed that missing piece. The way these two are utterly in awe of each other at every turn - they are truly a perfect match. While the way they met was not the ideal scenario, it was fate that brought Daphne to Andri’s mountain!

Watching these two navigate their journey together was so much fun, and their size difference was quite adorable as well. This story was a spot on example of the “found family” trope in my opinion.

This vacation-turned-fated romance is no exception to the wonderful trend of coziness and spice we’ve seen through the Hallow’s Cove series. While each book is a standalone, it’s always fun to get a glimpse back at the other characters we’ve come to know and love. “Snowed In” is the perfect winter read to keep you warm this season!

Adorable. Short and sweet.

This was the perfect winter holiday warm up. Let’s face it the holidays are HARD this year for all of this. Now settle down, grab a blanket and a cup of hot cocoa and get to reading this book.

Daphne is our human FMC here— arriving at Hallow’s Cove to learn to ski since in her fiancé’s eyes she will embarrass them at their family ski trip coming up. Her fiance is probably the worst man I’ve read and Petra here made him SO UNLIKABLE from the very start. Daphne is lucky though; Andri, the sweet and caring yeti (… or abominable snowman) is there to catch her when she falls.

There’s lot of pining, second thoughts and all the hesitation as this book progresses. The ending was perfect to me and with everything Daphne had to do and put up with concerning her ex-fiance by the end, the ending was very well deserved.

It was okay

The bright side, I love a yeti romance and the size difference trope is always fun

The not so bright side, I think the characters didn’t really have very much development and there was really nothing about the MC’s relationship that developed. It honestly just felt a little flat. Also I’m a little disappointed in the yeti peen situation, there was such a great chance to do something super creative but it’s just big and sparkles a little… all in all the entire book just felt a little underwhelming unfortunately.

This is such a cute and cosy addition to the Hallow’s Cove series. The setting on the mountain was absolutely stunning, and so festive; perfect for this time of year. It was so much fun to read, well maybe with the exception of Gerald, he can go kick rocks; the odious little reptile!

Daphne & Andri are just the sweetest; they both just want a found family, with neither of them having one of their own. Andri is so wholesomely protective of Daphne (even more so around Gerald), and wraps her up in his warm, furry embrace any opportunity he gets. It makes me want an abominable snowman of my own, especially when the spicy spice hits 🥵 I loved seeing the little cameos of the residents from previous books, it makes Hallow’s Cove come alive and feel infinitely more real.

Daphne and her fiancé are on a trip to improve her skiing skills so as to not embarrass him in front of his family, in the next month. Yes, he's that kind of fiancé :( When Yeti, Andri, saves her from a situation, he can't help feeling a connection to her. Soon enough, she is a single woman but she feels the connection to Andri, as well. This was a perfect blend of cozy, cute, funny and steamy - with a little hate-on for her ex ;P It was definitely heartwarming to see Andri support and care for her as she deserved. I really enjoyed this one, and while it's my first read by this author, it definitely won't be my last. Good fun!

A burst of fresh cool air in time for the winter season, brought to you by the multi-author collection of Hallow's Cove! Daphne gets a harsh cold dose of reality seeing her creep of a fiancé and his ulterior motives for staying in the idyllic town of Hallow's Cove, when she thought she was going to learn how to ski to impress his family to find out that he has been cheating on her the whole time!

Luckily, Andri is there to mend Daphne's heart and turn up the heat for her love story! He is a sweet bundle of fur, falling for her hard and fast, while still giving her the chance to be her own guiding light.

A heartwarming tale to read when the snow is piling outside and all you need is a fuzzy yeti boyfriend and some hot cocoa!

Welcome back to Hallow's Cove, and didn't this come out just at the right time with it turning so wintery in lil ol' Leeds!

I loved this story from the get go, fuelled by my HATE of men and love for big monsters and lovely women. Andri was such a brilliant MMC and I love that Daphne really found out where she belonged - and it wasnt with that evil damn Gerald (I have never wanted to punch a kindle so so badly)

I loved the setting of the ski lodge and had been waiting to end up here and it paid off. This was a Hallmark Movie in a book that had me kicking my feet (and wanting a little cry at times).

I can't wait to do a re-read of this whole series, it is so magically and I cannot reccomend it enough!
