Devastation, heartache, and unanswered questions; that’s what I’ve learned to associate with auburn hair and light blue eyes. I may be the major leagues ‘Golden Boy’ but there’s so much more than what I allow the world to see. Mainly, the destruction Regan Barlowe left when she walked out of my life without a backwards glance seven years ago. Now she’s back and working for the same team I play for. She acts like I’m the issue when she stole my heart all those years ago, before she left without a single word the day after I got drafted. We have a mountain of things to talk about, but it’s clear the feelings are still here for both of us, or maybe that’s just me being optimistic. Regan comes with her own secrets, and it’s pretty clear there’s more to her being in Temple Valley besides the new job opportunity. I’ve never been one to learn after the first time; so I hope you’re ready Liten Sol. I'm not looking for an expiration date, not when I believe we can be renewed.
This is my favorite book in the series so far!! Knox and Regan were in love when suddenly, everything ended. After seven years, Knox and Regan unexpectedly reunite. Know is the pitcher for the same baseball team Regan is hired to run the Marketing department. Will their love withstand the test of time? Can Knox be the man Regan needs in order to open up? And how will Regan tell Knox she chose to return to town for revenge...
This book brings all of the heat, drama, and emotion you are looking for in a romance book. It felt absolutely perfect to me. Nora Thomas writes loveable and diverse characters. I loved the sports, mafia, found family, and biker club vibes. And the books are always fast paced and unforgettable.
Have you ever bought a sweet treat and it was one of the best things you’ve eaten in a while? It just hits the spot and you’re torn between scarfing it down like it could cure Midas’ touch or savoring every bite as if it was your last? This book is that feeling.
I had to take moments to step away and do other things, to only come back and finish this book within 24hours. Absolutely DEVOURED IT!
I met Nora at a “book fair” who lured me to her booth with her sports tropes and kept me with the disability/medical representation in her books. I am happy to report she did not fall short in her PCOS/Endometriosis representation in this book - it’s raw, rough and does not sugar coat the true pain and inconvenience the symptoms bring.
I realized a bit into the book this was going to be a second chance romance and I can’t lie, I was a bit nervous how this would go as I am not a fan of that trope. That said, I was pleasantly surprise how Nora played out Knox and Reagan’s (FMC & MMC) past and present. I don’t want this review to spoil anything but know that what drove Knox and Reagan apart was believable, their reactions to reconnecting & clearing up the past was realistic and fit the storyline beautifully.
The end was freaking intense. I was once again pleasantly surprised by the outcome - not everything always needs a perfect “happy ending” and Nora delivered a authentic, realistic outcome to the challenge (sorry for the vagueness, trying not to spoil) presented and the various reactions people might have to experiencing very similar traumas.
One thing a bit difficult with this book, and I assume the series, is the world building. For how amazing the found family and large group of characters are for the development and complexity of Nora and Knox’s story, they do present a slight learning curve when first starting their book. That being said, I think that Nora does a great job of continuously introducing and adding to the character’s development throughout the entire book. You will fall for many characters and die for their stories - the more books you read in the series, I have no doubt this will no longer be an issue at all.

Huge congratulations and thank you to Nora Thomas for writing an amazing book & allowing me the opportunity as an ARC reader in exchange for my honest opinion. I will be stalking you closely for your next installment!
5⭐️ and a standing ovation for Nora Thomas’ 3rd installment of The Lucky Ones series. Thomas masterfully weaves in popular romance tropes to give you a one-of-a-kind dark sports romance!
My current soap box is that Nora Thomas deserves to be Elle Kennedy/Chelsea Curto/Liz Tomforde kind of romance author famous. My friend and I stumbled upon Nora at a community book fair - where we quite literally stopped dead in our tracks because I saw sports romance tropes. Being able to talk with Nora about her books (especially the dark romance subplots) and her intentionality behind incorporating chronic illness into her character depiction made me an immediate fan. And I’m happy to say her PCOS/Endometriosis representation in this book is beautifully written - there is no glazing over the pain and inconvenience this condition causes, and it truly challenges you to look beyond the “professional” opinion of the disease vs. illness dichotomy.
My friend read this book before I did and warned me that it was a second-chance romance. I think her exact words were “It’s a second-chance romance done right,” which is heavy praise considering neither of us is a huge fan of that trope. From the first page, I fell in love with Knox and Regan. I began thinking this was more of a “friends-to-strangers-to-lovers because of a miscommunication” storyline rather than just a second-chance romance.
Now, as much as I loved the spicy scenes (because I truly did and they felt more realistic than others I’ve read), I LIVED for the soft scenes. Knox is the epitome of a book boyfriend - protective, does his research and supports Regan’s diagnosis (like c’mon, he went to the doctors with her), and he is family-focused. And Regan is such a dynamic female character, balancing her kindness and feminine rage, her determination and her softness. I am obsessed with them as a couple, especially in how Knox is emotionally mature and is so caring towards Regan. His deep love for her, and his behavior after she had a facial scar touched my heart as someone who has recently suffered a dog bite (and scarring) to the face.
The overall cast of characters is incredibly diverse and written in a way that doesn’t feel like the author was just checking a box. The found family aspect, the sisterhood and brotherhood representation past blood connections, and the dark elements play out seamlessly. This is the kind of storyline I wanted from Lights Out by Navessa Allen!
The interconnectedness of the characters is the true toss-up. Personally, I liked being able to connect the side characters here to their own standalones and see how the crime organization's underground subplot added support. I volunteer, wholeheartedly, as tribute to make a “crime family tree” or merch if Nora ever needs it at no cost (ok… maybe in exchange for her books). However, this may initially complicate the plot for some readers. I do implore those who find this a difficult aspect of the book to continue reading because Nora seamlessly weaves these characters and motivations into her writing, and how they serve the current plot.
⚾ Second-Chance Romance ⚾ Endometriosis/PCOS representation ⚾ Crime Underworld ⚾ Found Family ⚾ Revenge Sub-Plot
Thank you so much, Nora, for the amazing ARC in exchange for my honest opinions and for the time you took to talk to me at your book fair table - you now have a forever fan (and merch designer if you need it 😉) Happy Release Day!
Nora absolutely nailed it with Knox and the rest of the Lucky Ones. Knox is the definition of a walking green flag, and it is so refreshing to see a male main character written with such genuine care and emotional awareness.
What stood out to me most was how Nora portrayed PCOS. She did not shy away from the reality of it. The infertility struggles, the quiet grief of feeling like your body is not meeting expectations, whether your own or someone else’s, and the physical and emotional toll that comes with it were all handled with care. As someone who has PCOS, this felt deeply personal and validating.
Even though this is a sports romance, the story never gets lost in the sport itself. Instead, it uses that backdrop to enhance the characters and their journey rather than overshadow it, which I really appreciated.
After reading Restored, I truly did not think I could love another MMC in this series more, but Knox proved me wrong. The gentleness he shows Regan from the very beginning is everything. It is soft, steady, and exactly what her character needed.
It is only March, but this is already my favorite book of the year.
Knox was devastated when Regan left him years ago without an explanation. Now she's back working in marketing for his baseball team. He's determined to win her back, even though his heart is still in pieces.
Regan is hesitant to reunite with Knox. She's in town seeking revenge after losing her best friend. But her and Knox's family ties to underground organizations may put them all in danger.
This is the third book in a series. I absolutely recommend the first two books, Revived and Restored, but you don't have to read those in order to enjoy this one.
Renewed is a fast-paced, high-stakes, trope-filled love story. I read the ARC in two days because I just wanted to know what would happen next.
@author_norathomas creates characters you care about. The found family element is strong and I just want to be friends with all of them ❤️
I loved this story and I'm really excited for the next book in the series!
Second chance Baseball Maf!a Brother's best friend PCOS & endometriosis rep
I love the way Nora writes her books. She captures you right from the start & makes it hard for you think about anything else.
Regan & Knox’s story was such a sad & beautiful tale of two souls destined for each other, ripped apart by one decision & then spending 7 years feeling the effects. They each resented the other, & when Regan came back to town it was a hard pill for both of them swallow. After weeks of active avoidance & only being near when absolutely necessary, Knox has had enough. He needs to tell her how he feels about her up & leaving without a word, & he understandably wants to know why. Regan is reluctant to tell him, & she’s angry at him. But after an extremely difficult & uncomfortable conversation, Knox & Regan can begin to move forward & rekindle their relationship - after all, they were meant to be.
This book features a FMC battling PCOS & Endo & is an emotional rollercoaster but it’s 100% worth it.
💜 Found Family 🖤Second Chance 💜PCOS & Endometriosis Representation
Just when I think Nora can’t outdo herself, she proves me so very wrong. I must admit I didn’t cry as much as I did with the others, but this was still very emotional and perfectly written. Knox and Reagan loved each other even before they understood what love was but due to miscommunication they lost 7 years together. The chemistry between then was crazy and knowing what really happened all those years ago is understandable but also frustrating. This book was so good I could out it down. I love the closeness of this friend’s group, and the fact the older Byrne boys are always there for all of them, not just Flynn and Sully is amazing. I don’t know what I will do with myself when this series is over but until then I will be patiently waiting for Xavier and Dom’s stories.
Thank you so much Nora Thomas for allowing me to read this ARC. These are my honest thoughts.
I love Knox!! He is such a loyal friend and partner. Regan wasn’t my favorite FMC in this series, but she is a good match for Knox. Really enjoyed this book, but I think I’m even more excited for X’s story with Gabe and Magnolia! I love that dynamic so much and was really happy the author threw in chapters from their perspective. It really just amped up my excitement to see the three of them!! The Lucky’s are a fantastic friend group and I’m so happy Knox talked a little more about Zach in this book. His loss affected Knox the most and you can see that when reading his story. All of Nora’s books are amazing and I would recommend them to anyone who loves Mafia and sports romance books!! Thank you to the author for this arc book!
4.5⭐3🌶️ Beta Read Dual POV First Person Standalone #3 interconnected series Nora Thomas is an auto read/buy for me, haven't not loved a book yet!
Knox and Regan I love childhood friends, so sweet 💞 Prologue starts with them young, and there are a few flashbacks from each that fit in nicely. The couple's story is a second chance/miscommunication with found family (him) and PCOS/Endo rep (her), which is done well. The FMC also has a side story that brings some danger and suspense, which I think will heavily impact the MCs in the next book.
"As long as you need me to, Liten Sol. For this life and the next."
"I don't need the sea star. I just need the boy willing to look with me."
Nora develops characters in a way that makes you feel like you’re part of the family. She’s real about “girl diseases” like endometriosis and PCOS in a way that needs to happen. The story itself felt like it moved a little quickly but overall a good read and makes you ready to find out what happens next in the Lucky Ones family. She writes found family so well and you’ll be happy you read it when you do!
I am broken!this book completely blew me away 🤯. The Lucky Ones series is quickly becoming a favourite of mine, and this instalment was no exception. It was a tough, emotional read from start to finish, and Magnolia’s story absolutely wrecked me 😭.
I loved getting more of Regan and Knox, their full story was so powerful and beautifully done. This book hit hard in all the best ways, and honestly, I already know I’m not ready for what the next one is going to put me through.
NORA! You did it again. The Byrne men have my heart, but I couldn’t wait to read Knox story, and Renewed DID 👏🏼 NOT 👏🏼 DISAPPOINT!!
One of my favorite things about Nora’s books is her ability to show diversity and representation and this book was no different. Regan’s struggles with PCOS was real and raw, but also portrayed delicately and deliberately.
Reagan and Knox chemistry was authentic, raw and believable. Renewed had tension, banter and just the right amount of spice for me. I cried, I laughed , and read into the early hours of morning - I found my self not able to put this one down.
This series keeps getting better & better - Renewed is my favorite (so far).
Knox and Regan’s story was devastating but beautiful. Their previous relationship ended over an overheard conversation and miscommunication, but their path back to each other was perfect. Knox is a complete green flag man, and even after everything Regan goes through in this book, with her medical problems, emotional trauma, and physical trauma, he is nothing but supportive and incredible. Loved this one, and am hoping Xavier’s book is next!!
I love Nora’s books. This one hits a lot of different topics like pcos/endometriosis, infertility, loss/grief. It also has a lot of overlapping characters with her other books. This is part of an interconnected standalone series, and all the others in this series have been so good. This book is out now on KU so go check it out and share your review of it!
Book 3 in the Lucky Ones series Renewed and is Knox and Reagan's emotional, beautiful, second chance journey. This story encompasses real life situations that real life people encounter and it's handled beautifully in every aspect. Definitely a must read story.
"We were never broken, baby. We just needed to be renewed.”
Nora is one of my favorite authors and The Lucky Ones series is becoming a favorite as well. Knox and Regan have found their way back to each other after a misunderstanding, but they will once again be tested.
Hot, Hot, Hot!!! Knox and Raegan are true love. I cried like a baby but am so happy with the ending. Lovers separated for years and brought back together.
