Exciting sci-fi version of Peter Pan, great for middle graders who love a good adventure story! Great characters and interesting dystopian world. Loved the easter egg moments that point back to the original story and the beautiful cover art.

Castellum, a unique spin on the classic tale Peter Pan, is a fun, fast paced, futuristic adventure. This is a book that gets better and better as the story unfolds.

Initially I was skeptical, mostly because it's primarily for a younger audience (kids 10 and up), and thus normally wouldn't have been on my radar. However, after chancing upon it on social media and loving the cover art, I was inspired to look into it further. Well, the description I found sounded pretty cool, folks! I was officially intrigued.

This is a book that surprised me. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. The world building was interesting; from the floating city of Castellum itself to Earth's ominous surface below. It's an extremely fast paced read with alternating points of view between main character Peter and the sinister Captain James.

Did I mention there are twists? There are! (Ones I didn't see coming either, by the way.)

Castellum is one of the books I plan on reading with my son when he gets older, so a reread will be a definite for me in the future. Should the story progress further with any additional books, I'll be checking those out as well.

In a nutshell, this was a surprisingly fun, fast paced, creative read and I'm so glad I stumbled upon it!

I love this story because it's a great read! The plot moves along fast and the characters stay in your mind and make you want to keep reading. Perfect for middle school kids that want a great adventure story! Adults would love it to for a cozy read.
I LOVED the ending. There were things I didn't expect for sure!
Can't wait to read the next one! A fun book for all!
