These Illustrated Classics books were all written 40-45 years ago. So it’s easy for the stories to fall flat because of the possibility that they just don’t age well and the writing becomes…antiquated. Not so with this one! I have always wanted to read about Judah Ben-Hur, and it did not disappoint. Loaded with action, love, revenge, and even religious connotations, Lew Wallace wrote a great story about 150 years ago. I think there ought to be a more modern movie remake. On a side note, these little books for well in cargo shorts, so if I know I have to sit around for something this summer, I’ll pack along another one.

Abbastanza verboso, però piuttosto simile al film di Cecil B. DeMille (quell'orribile reboot del 2016 mai esistito per quanto mi riguarda). Si perde molto in digressioni sulla Galilea agli anni di Cristo, ma riesce a coinvolgere il lettore.

تتميز سلسلة موبي بوكس بلغتها المبسطة ورسوماتها المعبرة بين كل صفحة وأخرى..

قرأت هذا الكتاب قبل 15 سنة واستمتعت به, وها أنا اليوم أعيد قرائته واستعيد الذكريات..

على الرغم من اختلاف العقائد والخلفيات الدينية بين المسيحية والإسلام، إلا أن الكتاب ممتع
يحكي مغامرة وقصة انتقام لكن الإنتقام ليس من النوع المعهود.. إنه الإنتقام الإلهي
والإنتصار على العدو ليس بسحقه بل بتسليط قدرة الله عليه...

القصة تتحدث عن شخصية إسمها جودا إبن حر وصديق طفولته ميسالا,, وقصة لقائه بنبي الله عيسى عليه السلام...

لا أعلم إن كانت الأحداث في هذا الكتاب خيالية أم أنها مؤرخة.. ولكن إن قرأنا الكتاب بتجرد ـ كما يجدر بنا أن نفعل مع أي كتاب - سنجده يؤكد معظم ما هو معروف عن نبي الله عيسى عليه السلام من إحياءه الموتى وشفاءه للمرضى والبرص وإتيانه لمعجزات أخرى...

أما كونه إلاها أو ابن الله فهذا ليس مغزى القصة وليس مسوغاً لنبذ الكتاب .. أكرر: الأفكار في أي كتاب تعكس رؤية مؤلفها ولا تتسبب بالضرورة بتغيير أفكار ومعتقدات القارئ كما يظن معظم الناس ذوي العقلية المتحجرة والمغلقة

This was a good book about how Robin Hood became and outlaw. It is also about him and his band of men yomen, who go on adventures with him. Along the way he gets in trouble and has to escape being captured by a bishop, a king, a sheriff and more. He also gets more people to join hs band. He and his band also compete in a few archery competitions. That's what this book is about.

a sweeping story of friendship, glory, betrayal and redemption, Lew Wallace' epic novel Ben hur is an enlightening read about Jesus and the struggle of ben-hur to regain his lost honour. thoroughly enjoyed this epic tale.

Good read, there are a few historical events the author took liberty with, but it was only to put his characters in the middle of the action.
