About the author

Julio Díaz Cohen is a recognized leader and reference in the international energy sector. With nearly three decades of experience, he has driven strategies for transformation, market development, and risk management across emerging economies.

He graduated Summa Cum Laude as an Electrical Engineer from INTEC and holds master’s degrees in Power Sector Management (Pontifical Comillas University), Industry 4.0 (Polytechnic University of Catalonia), and Photovoltaic Technology (MPV Solar Reference).

Throughout his career at The AES Corporation, a global energy company headquartered in the United States, he has led projects that have redefined how Latin America and other regions advance toward cleaner, more resilient, and competitive energy systems.

He has served as Chair and Treasurer of the Board of AmCham Panama, is an active member of APEDE, and an IEEE Senior Member. Most leadership books feel theoretical. This one doesn’t. You can tell Julio Díaz Cohen has lived through the crises he writes about. The stories from blackouts and high pressure negotiations make the lessons real and practical. What stood out to me most was the emphasis on character and communication under pressure. If you lead in any complex environment, this book will feel uncomfortably relevant, in a good way.
