Two weeks. No promises. Just passion… until the Winter Games change everything.

Jack O’Leary, veteran defenseman and captain of the Railers, isn’t sure where his life’s headed. Fresh off a painful divorce and staring down the end of his career, he books a vacation to clear his head—romance not included. But when he meets a fiery young snowboarder who refuses to let him hide behind his walls, Jack finds himself falling hard for the first time in years. When their paths cross again at the Winter Games, Jack must decide if he’s brave enough to chase the future he never expected.

Tian-Lei Cai-Wilder’s living the dream—endorsements, medals, and the bright spotlight of snowboarding fame. His reward? Two weeks in the sun to finally breathe. Meeting Jack wasn’t part of the plan, but the gruff, gorgeous hockey legend is impossible to resist. Their vacation fling burns hot and ends clean… or so Tian thinks. When they’re both chosen for Team USA, sparks fly all over again—only this time, the whole world is watching.

Powder is a steamy age-gap, opposites-attract, second-chance sports romance featuring a brooding hockey veteran, a golden-boy snowboarder, and a fling that refuses to stay in the past.

Another sweet entry in this series which follows the next generation of players at the Harrisburg Railers.

This time we get Captain Jack, newly divorced and all in his feels about the breakdown of his marriage, even though he had the dirty done to him and the snowboarder he meets on a two week Caribbean getaway Tian.

I liked most of this, there's a bit of minor miscommunication where neither of them tells the other they've caught feelings during their two week holiday fling, plus a bit where it looked like it was going to descend into more unspoken revelations.

Fortunately the authors had that be very short lived, just enough of a small tension break until they could properly meet up and talk.

As with the others in this series, there's little on page steam, which is always a disappointment for me.

When we, as readers, don't get to see the intimacy of someone opening themselves up to be vulnerable with another person through a sexual encounter that's not just lust driven, I always feel like I'm missing out on relationship development.

That's my main niggle though, I liked the setting of the Winter Olympics, I liked Jack's sister and Tian's fantastic parents.

I'm also both interested and a bit not sure about that over who's going to be the main character in book four mind! It could go either way.

#ARC kindly received from the authors, I am voluntarily leaving a review

A Joyfully Jay review.

Powder is the third in the Railers Legacy series and, while it helps to have some knowledge of previous Railers’ books, it’s not critical. There are few recurring characters and passing references to past events, but nothing that would stymie a new reader. I’m not usually a fan of the vacation-fling-turned-romance trope, but the characters here are sweet and the book made for a nice, relaxing read.

While I wanted a bit more from Powder in terms of story development and overall depth, I was ultimately quite content with what I got. Simple and sweet, Powder is a great weekend read or a nice palate cleanser after reading something angsty or particularly heavy. I do have a soft spot for the Railers books, having followed the series for years, and I find myself still enjoying them after all this time.

I really liked it. Tian and Jack make for a good couple and I liked the change of setting, both the vacation resort and the Olympics, while still having the familiar characters and teams. It did have a mild vibe as the story of Ten and Mads in the Olympics, but it was also pretty different. I still liked having the nod there.

I really liked this book, Jack and Tian are a cute couple who had instant chemistry and were soulmates even though they swore it would just be holiday fling.

We follow on with the next generation of players at Harrisburg Railers, although Tennant Rowe, Jared, Stan and Erik will always have a place in my heart, but this is Captain Jack O’Leary and Tian-Lei-Cai-Wilder’s story.

Jack had a really bad year, his wife having an affair and a divorce, coming out of it with nothing but his truck and very low self esteem. When the Railers crashed out of the playoffs he blamed himself for losing focus. His sister Fiona decides to shake him out of his funk, and he knows better than to argue with her, and buys him a trip to the Belize island of Caye Caulker telling him not to come home until he gets laid.

On the flight he locks eyes with a younger guy boarding the plane and the attraction is instant. When he sits next to Jack he introduces himself as Tian and Jack finds himself captivated by the sunshiny ball of energy that is Tian. There isn’t a silence that he can’t fill, the opposite of Jack who isn’t a big talker, in fact they seem like total opposites. Jack is aware he is 10 years older than Tian, but when they decide to spend their 2 weeks on the island together they fall hard and fast.

Their relationship is complicated by Jack being in the playoffs and Tian achieving his lifelong goal of being a top snowboarder, doing death defying stunts and they live in different states.

When they are both picked to represent the US in the Winter Olympics they bump into each again after months of no contact and the feelings are still there only deeper. When Jack is badly hurt it’s Tian that looks after him. Fiona intervenes again booking them a luxury couple of days in Milan when the games are over.

I enjoyed that the book took us out of the usual setting and into the Olympics. It had shades of Ten and Jared when they went to the Olympics and had s*x all over the village🤣

A good read and the next book sounds interesting, bringing in a character that has shaken the Railers to the core.

I received a free copy. This review is submitted voluntarily.

Jack O’Leary, the captain of the Harrisburg Railers, is depressed about his divorce and the team having been swept out of the first round of playoffs and his sister springs for a luxury vacation in Belize. Tian-Lei Cai-Wilder is a snowboarder working toward his first Olympics meets Jack in first class heading for the same place. They decide to hook up for the two weeks but develop feelings by the end. Despite having those feelings, they nonetheless agree to go their separate ways. Six months later both have earned spots on the US Olympic Team and meet up in Milan. During the opening game, Jack is seriously injured but is nursed back to health by Tian in time for him to make the final game.

The one quibble I had with the book is that Tian described his routines in technical terms that I did not understand. They were the only places that slowed down my reading. With that out of the way, I can happily say that I loved the book. Both MCs have some reticence in dealing with their sports and the relationship, but Jack lacks self-confidence because of the divorce. Tian does a lot to overcome the complex, as does his sister Fiona. As for the latter, the exchanges between the siblings are a lot of fun. The authors spend a lot of time on the things the couple did together rather than the steam that they handle in a tasteful fashion. This doesn’t mean they gloss over the physical love scenes, but they don’t dwell on them. The two MCs are clearly meant for each other, and I found myself invested in their relationship. The secondary characters make substantial contributions to plot development through the advice and support that they give the main characters. The storyline is straightforward with few diversions.

I found this book hard to put down and I highly recommend it.

4.25 stars - Jack is the Captain of the Railers who is in the last few years of what will likely be his final contract. That’s pretty much the extent of the Railers exposure for a good part of this story. He is in the off-season when his sister pushes him to take an expense-paid vacation where he meets super sweet Tian, pro snowboarder focused on his career and making the US Olympic team. From the time the cabin doors close, these two hit it off and quickly decide they will partake in a vacation-only fling filled with lots of hot sex. It is clear they have great chemistry and despite their age difference, have a lot in common starting with their dedication to their careers.

Fast forward to the guys being back on their own paths. They both can’t stop thinking about each other but are sticking by their pact of no contact post-vacation. That is, until they both arrive at the Olympic venue and are in each other’s world once again.

Despite their separate lives, they realize that there are things that become more important as time goes on and career stages change, etc. They find a way to make things work with little to no angst or drama. They are forced to be patient, but it pays off in the end.

Back to the Railers again where things are looking to head back to the ice in the next installment when the team picks up a player with a well-known bad reputation, or at least his father does. And the team is not happy about any of it. Sparks are surely to fly and I can’t wait to see how it all plays out.

Jack O’Leary, captain of the Harrisburg Railers NHL team, is recovering from a divorce when we meet him. He’s a big D-man, but may have internalized a few things his ex-wife said on repeat. Luckily, his sister Fiona is around to talk him down on the regular and pump him up. She also sends him on a vacation where he meets snowboarder Tian-Lei. Despite an age gap, the mutual attraction is instantaneous.

The two men enjoy a delightful holiday together and agree to keep it a vacation fling. However, returning to their real lives, neither can get the other out of his head.

When both make team USA’s Olympic team, their potential for a second chance at romance shines bright. And they waste little time in starting to sneak time together. Locey and Scott ensure that, once the main characters get out of their own way, their relationship blossoms. Which leaves the big question: how on earth are they going to manage this relationship after the Olympics? Of course, everything tidily falls in place because love has to win. But the voyage is fun and romantic and emotional. Four stars.

Oh My Goodness!
What to say and not say about this amazing book?
Jack and Tian meeting was the best thing to happen to them.
Their instant attraction, affection, sexy times, support of each other, need to be with each other and ultimate decision to part nearly broke my heart.
As I read I was mumbling, "No! This can work! Come on guys listen to meeeee!"
Alas they didn't.
Until.....
Ok not going to go there.
Just know readers that this book will, as it did me, make you laugh, fan yourself, tear up, get super excited for a few different reasons. So much going on.
Jack's sister is a hoot and I wish she were real so I could give her multiple high fives for the things she said and did in this book.
That's all I'm giving you.
You know from experience with Rj and Vicki that this will be a great book so just buy it as soon as you can, you won't regret it!

I love this installment in the Railers Legacy series. We have here an age gap (small-ish) and second chance romance which started as insta-lust but moved to love.

Tian and Jack are such a great couple, I love how Tian is star-struck when they meet. Jack is so heartbroken, his self-confidence is gone and he can't shake his feeling of being not useful and worth loving. His worries about Tian's feelings and not wanting to hurt him - OMG, that was so sweet and heartbreaking at the same time.

The scene when they meet again at the Olympics is just great, I love how both realise what they want and are misreading everything but they reconnect fast.

They are a hot couple and Tian's just the best thing for Jack to find his confidence and life back and giving Jack finally someone who takes care of him.

It's a very low angst story. I struggled a bit with the technical description of Tian's snowboarding as I have absolute no idea about it and found it difficult to visual it.

Third in series (Railers Legacy). Age gap. POC representation. Dual POV.

A vacation hookup between two pro athletes becomes something neither can forget. Snowboarder Tian is instantly attracted to older hockey player Jack, and they spend two wonderful weeks together. After the vacation is over, neither Jack nor Tian can let go of all the feelings, but they are both busy athletes that live hundreds of miles apart.

Given that this started just as a hookup and is short term, this was written so well that we get to see the time Jack and Tian spend together and not just in bed. Reunited with the Olympics as a backdrop, I really appreciated that both men were honest and communicated their feelings right away, not wanting to give up on their chance at a forever relationship. The pining felt equal on both sides, both characters were likable and fell just as deeply for the other, the relationship felt genuine and sweet. Another great addition to this series. 4.25

I loved everything about this book. It’s very sweet in places and super sexy in others. The age-gap isn’t huge (10 years) and I liked that. The chemistry between Jack and Tian felt very real to me. Jack deserved everything good after divorcing his horrible (now ex) wife.

Keeping a relationship going while each of them pursues their demanding careers isn’t easy but they made it work. I confess that I didn’t understand all of the snowboarding references but that didn’t matter, it was the love story that was important to me. I’m enjoying this series so much and I like that each book has one of the MCs with a different sport from hockey.

There isn’t a cliffhanger but the teaser for the next book in the series has me wanting to read the next book now! (No pressure RJ & VL. 🥰) Note: don’t miss the bonus scene that’s linked at the end of Powder.

An advanced copy of this book was provided to me at my request; my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

Captain Jack 😍 of the Harrisburg Railers and Tian a big shot in snowboarding meet on vacation. Deciding to spend two weeks having fun and hooking up gets these two out of their heads. After two weeks feelings are caught but they still go their separate ways. Meeting again six months later at the winter Olympics. This shows them that time didn't change their feelings and they get closer.

I liked this sweet romance. There's a little bit of miscommunication when they split at the two week mark but it gets cleared up easily. I did think their emotional connection wasn't as strong as it could've. Maybe if the book was a little longer it would've reached there for me. I liked seeing characters from previous Railers books. Good series and this book makes a nice addition.

Jack and Tian’s story is the third book in the Railers Legacy series, and is a fabulous addition to it. I loved how they met and were instantly attracted to each other, and it felt sad yet real when the demands of their sporting lives disrupted their relationship. Thankfully they met again at the Olympics and they got to be together once more.
This is an age-gap story that has emotion, heat and so many feelings coming off the pages that I couldn’t put it down. Both men are lovely and had undeniable feelings for each other so it was easy to be invested in their relationship. Highly recommended.

Totally loving this age-gap, opposites attract story from two of my favourite co-authors! It totally matches their Railers Legacy vibe and gives us a deep dive into how two men at the peak of their very intense careers can make a relationship work if they really want it to... what starts as a hook-up leads to so much more and I was there to devour their entire story. I also love that neither MC is white... it adds a layer of depth to the story and makes me want to see more from them as their relationship continues - VL & RJ are great about integrating past couples in their books and I definitely want to see more of these two in the future.

With his divorce in his rearview mirror and the hockey season having a disappointing ending, Jack finds himself forced by his sister to get away and relax. The last thing he thought he would find was Tian, a snowboarder that catches his eye. But Tian and Jack decide their time together will end when they go back to their regular lives - but sometimes connections are made that cannot be broken. Reuniting brings love to the surface and watching them fall was a joy to read. A great addition to the series.

I enjoyed the latest book in the Railers Legacy series. It’s a small‑age‑gap, second-chance romance that begins with insta‑lust but beautifully grows into love. Tian and Jack make such a great couple—Tian’s star‑struck reaction when they first meet is adorable, while Jack’s heartbreak and loss of self‑confidence are deeply moving. His worries about Tian’s feelings and his fear of hurting him were both sweet and heartbreaking to read. It’s a low‑angst, heartfelt story with plenty of heat and a touching conclusion.

I enjoyed this book, I loved the main characters,Tian a sweet snowboarder and Jack a hockey player and captain of the Railers. I was kind of peed off at the beginning( Jack’s ex wife) not right! When Jack met Tian on the plane I was smiling and laughing, so good, I really liked the story. I teared up at times( sad and happy), there some steam in there too and feelings and how to make a relationship work at long distance, sigh… The end is happy, thank you very much! Loved the bonus, I was in happy tears.

I'm not a sports reader but Powder (no clue about where the title came from), but I enjoyed Powder and finished it in one sitting. That tells something.
From an insta lust to summer fling then forever? Count me in!
Jack and Tian made it work with their busy schedules as Olympic athletes. And they're adorable and sweet.
Very low to no angst at all except the time and a bit of jealousy, that I think is cute.

PS
Don't forget to read the extra!

I am loving this series about the next generation of players with the Railers! I have been waiting for Jack’s book. His ex really did a number on his confidence and he deserves someone who appreciates him for who he is. Tian is absolutely perfect for him. He is young and sure of what he wants. And what he wants is Jack. Once they realize that what they have is more than just a vacation fling, there is no hiding how they feel. Fabulous read!

These ladies never fail to make me love what they write. This second chance lust to love story is another great read that grabs you and pulls you along for the ride

Tian and Jack make a great couple, and I enjoyed reading them come together again and face what's between them with honesty.

Bonus as always seeing characters I loved in the Railers series make cameos.

This was a wonderful story about a man whose whole perspective of love was rocked when he got a divorce, but also denied his feelings when he meets Tian during a holiday away and spends two weeks with the man. I enjoyed how their relationship developed, and the secondary characters were wonderfully supportive. A good read!

Jack (hockey player) met Tian (very hot younger snowboarder) on the plane to Belize for a much needed holiday following his divorce and just feeling down. Really felt for him. Wow the chapters in Belize were on smexy fire. I loved how it was a holiday fling that turned into something real. I was very happy when they met up again after both making it to the olympics in their respective sports. This was such a joyous book with lots of happiness. HEA. Highly recommend.
