When Amara offered herself as the king’s bride in a bid to end his brutal reign, she never expected to survive the night—let alone fall for the man feared for slaughtering his queens. Yet, against all odds, she lived to see the dawn. And in the light, she saw not a monster, but a man—a ruler burdened with protecting a kingdom teetering on the edge of ruin.
But love is not enough in a world of blood and betrayal. In the second and final installment, Amara and Zayed must learn what true partnership means—how to fight, to rise, and to reclaim what is rightfully theirs.
She survived 1001 nights with the Lycan King. Now, with a team of unexpected allies, she must become the queen she was born to be. They stole her kingdom, shattered her world, and thought they had broken her. But Amara is still standing—stronger, fiercer, and with her king by her side. The crown is already hers. Now, she’s coming for the throne.
Wow! Ruby is a phenomenal story teller. This kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time and I loved how everything turned out. I love how she tells about women and power and men supporting strong women and not feeling emasculated by it. Gah! This needs to be made into a tv mini series
Now her sister needs a story! 😜

I thought the storyline and all that was involved with it in this series was unique. It is unlike any other storyline I’ve read before.
The plot and characters are well developed and likable. Although I was a little heartbroken by the character twist. There were parts of the story that seemed to be written with odd verbiage in comparison to other parts of the book so those parts were a little clunky but overall a really good and interesting read.

Summary: THIS IS THE CONTINUING STORY OF ZAYED AND AMARA. PLEASE READ BOOK ONE PRIOR TO READING THIS BOOK.
We continue on our journey with Zayed and Amara. The kingdom has been taken over by Kadin. Amara and Zayed must come together to save the kingdom. We meet up with many characters from the previous story as well as Asya and Idris (Amara's sister and father).
Amara has become a full Lycan. She and Zayed's Lycan have mated. Their love is stronger than ever before. HEA
Review: I loved it. This how the second book in a series should be done. There were so many twists and turns that kept me engaged. I loved that I got to meet Amara's father. His role in Zayed's childhood was a bit shocking. There was of course OW drama, but I liked how she in fact received her comeuppance.
There were so many moments when I thought OMG. I loved how her mother was also a part of this story. Not to mention how those who hurt her in the previous book were dealt with. In a world where sometimes the second book isn't worth it----you will be amazed by this one. The story was so worth the wait.
The author's writing style keeps you engaged. Her brand of storytelling is very much needed in this genre. I find myself looking forward to future books. Hopefully a book about Asya.
I RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS AN ARC HOWEVER MY REVIEW IS BASED ON MY OPINION OF THE BOOK ITSELF AND NOT INFLUENCED BY THE AUTHOR, ETC.
Book one, 1001 Nights with the Lycan King, was my very first 5 star read of 2025, and now this sequel is my last 5 star read of 2025!
The worldbuilding, character development, mystery, revelations, magic and curses were explored brilliantly, but the highlight of the book was its theme — women empowerment. At every step, the author showed the kind of treatment women go through almost everyday, the battles we have to fight, the struggles for basic rights, that abuse is not limited to physical or s*xual harm but also includes mental and emotional hurt inflicted by others which are invisible, hence dismissed easily. The book also explored the atrocities committed towards everyone in general when the wrong people come into power.
Although the book showed the negative side of certain kinds of people, it also conveyed that there are good people in the world. Whether it was Zayed's unwavering support towards Amara, or Idris' belief that his daughters could achieve anything they set their mind to, it gave a realistic view of things.
It was an emotional rollercoaster ride for me. I started with the book expecting the usual conflict, fight scenes, plotting and show of power, but I was surprised with the way the story progressed. Every major scene highlighted an issue, and I loved the way it was collectively solved by Zayed and Amara with help from the supporting characters.
I liked Amara and Asya's bond more than anything else. There was no jealousy or hard feelings when they argued or had disagreements. Both of them stood by each other, protecting and pushing the other to be their best. I also liked how Zayed warmed to Amara's family like they were his own.
There was one particular revelation regarding Asya's storyline that I had guessed early on, and since then I've been overly excited to read her story. Can't wait for the sequel!
Everything was wrapped up well at the end, and I was satisfied with the way things turned out for everyone. I recommend it to fantasy lovers who want to read a book inspired by the Arabian Nights stories with a good amount of romance and spice. It also has strong protagonists, lot of twists, unexpected revelations, topics like trauma, grief and betrayal. Don't miss out on this gem!
Ruby K has given readers the amazing conclusion to her 1000 Nights Duology with Rise of the Lycan Queen. Book 1 gave us a wild ride that ended leaving us wanting more and excitement of what was to come. Book 2 did not disappoint and once again proves that Ruby K can write paranormal, shifter romance with ease and wonderment. As always, her writing style pulls you in and keeps you intrigued until the last page.
Amara and Zaye are fully, completely mated and their love has reached new levels. There are still things to overcome, but they are dedicated to overcoming everything together. Many moments have you catching your breath and thinking “oh my god”, but then Ruby masterfully ties it all together and lets your heart rate slow. She never fails to give her readers an emotional rollercoaster. The ups and downs are not always enjoyed, but when you finish the ride you are so glad you rode it.
The other thing that Ruby always brings in her stories is strong female characters. They may start out timid, but grow into a force to be reckoned with. They find their voice and use it. They find their strength and make it known. They find their place and fulfill their purpose. The development of all her characters is beautiful, but I always enjoy seeing her female characters grow into seeing themselves how Ruby knew they would be from the beginning.
This duology is an amazing read and must be read as a duology. Book 2 ties into book 1 and the journey isn’t complete without both.
As always, review any author notes before reading.
What to Expect: 💜Warrior FMC 🔥Curses 💜Throne Scene 🔥Touch Her/Him and 💀 💜Good Girl 🔥My Wife 💜Sister Love/Girl Power
Rise of the Lycan Queen is a brilliant sequel to 1001 Nights with Lycan King, making it essential to read both books for a full grasp of the story. Ruby K. has crafted a compelling, werewolf-themed reinterpretation of the classic Arabic fairy tale in this series.
The narrative immediately engages, opening with Amara on the brink of her first Lycan shift. After being saved by Asya, Amara must re-join Zayed to protect their kingdom. With her new Lycan strength and her husband's support, Amara is an unstoppable force. Their love's enduring beauty and power are the foundation that allows them to conquer the relentless challenges they face. It was a profoundly emotional experience to witness their relationship flourish despite constant conflict with various enemies. This beautifully written story successfully evoked laughter, frustration, and tears from the first page to the last.
This, in my view, is the blueprint for a perfect series sequel. The constant, engaging twists and turns kept me utterly gripped. I was particularly excited to finally meet Amara's father and genuinely shocked by the revelation of his connection to Zayed's past.
I was delighted that Amara's mother was also seamlessly woven into the plot, and I appreciated the justice served to those who wronged Amara in the preceding book.
Waiting for this story was completely worthwhile.
Ruby’s writing style is captivating, and her unique approach to storytelling is a refreshing and much-needed contribution to the genre. I eagerly await her next book.
I received an ARC of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Rise of the Lycan Queen is a direct sequel to 1001 Nights with the Lycan King, and it really does need to be read as part of the series to fully appreciate the story and character dynamics. I was lucky enough to also ARC read the 1001 Nights so this was a great continuation of work. Ruby K. continues her werewolf-inspired reimagining of classic Arabian folklore with confidence and ambition.
The story opens strongly, throwing us into Amara’s shift and the high stakes surrounding her role in protecting the kingdom. Her relationship with Zayed remains the emotional core of the book. Their bond, loyalty and hard-won trust carries much of the narrative. Their love and resilience shine, particularly during periods of external conflict.
The plot is fast-paced with plenty of twists, and I don’t want to give away any spoilers, so I will briefly mention I like the connection of a the characters past and how this added depth and helped tie together threads from the first book.
That said, while the story was engaging overall, some sections felt a little rushed or emotionally uneven for me, which made it harder to fully connect at times. The writing is vivid and expressive, but I occasionally wanted more space for certain moments to breathe.
Overall, this is a solid and enjoyable sequel that will appeal strongly to fans of the series. Ruby K.’s storytelling is immersive and imaginative, and I’m interested to see where she takes this world next.
The Rise of the Lycan Queen is the conclusion of 1001 Nights with the Lycan King. Ruby K. returns us right where we left off with Amara and Zayed. These two main characters battle themselves and others trying to fight for justice, but do they succeed? You must read to find out.
I highly recommend this duology. They both kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to read more. Both books were a great retelling of The Arabian Nights’ book. I loved how strong the lead female Amara was, as well as how supportive Zayed was of getting her revenge and following her own paths. Ruby K. is amazing at painting a scene and clothing so well you feel as if you are there. The emotional journey this story takes you on in the past and the present is truly astounding. I was guessing throughout the novel how I expected things to get tied together. I was so happy and satisfied with the conclusion of this tale. Characters and story arcs I was worried were left open ended from the first book were wrapped up nicely. I definitely will be reading this series again soon.
I read book one and it left me hanging, like all good books do. This 2nd book shows Amara as a headstrong, kick ass woman, leading the way for her people. The relationship between Amara and Zayed perseveres through so many struggles and together, they come out on top. We learn more about the familial relationship Amara has with her father and sister. She has strong bonds with those she considers family and friends. This story draws you in to the timeliness with amazing details and it ensnares you. You become mesmerized to wanting to read more, to find out what happens next. I truly hope Asya gets her own story because there is so much left open and unsaid in her story and she deserves the same type of relationship that Amara and Zayed have.
I was kindly provided with this book (censorship is BS and I hate it but here we are!)
Book 2 in the duology and as always, much darker and more triggering than book 1 so please check your triggers! Tropes for this one; badass FMC, MCs in hiding, royalty, revenge and plotting and scheming. Smut was 2/5 on the spice scale and its the best HEA I could have hoped for!
Amara really did come into her element in this book. She’s got power she didn’t realise she had buried, she’s got determination and drive.. Absolutely adored her beyond words.
Zayed is forever going in my book boyfriend hall of fame. This man literally tried destroying the world for his wife, and there isn’t anything hotter. His devotion and unwavering loyalty.. obsessed.
Rise of the Lycan Queen is the sequel to 1001 Nights with Lycan King. They must be read together in order to understand the story and this book picks up almost immediately after the cliff hanger from book one. The books are a werewolf twist on the Arabic fairy tale and Ruby K has created some great characters to fill in those stories.
I loved who Amara was growing to be in the first story. Her character growth into a strong female lead that believed in herself and spoke her mind even against powerful men was so fun. In book two she stumbles, her time with her sister is so frustrating for me. She makes such questionable decisions. Things do seem to improve through the book. I just was not a fan of Asya's.
Oh my god, this one was awesome. I really, really loved it. The story telling writing style is top notch, and elevates the story to the next level. The stories Amara told Zayed in the first book, still plays a big and central role in this one. I loved the characters, and especially how we dip into Zayeds head as well as Amaras, so double pov in thisuu one guys. But it just gives more perspective to the story. I would have loved his pov in the fist one. So many sides characters from the first book, gets more page time here, and that is just a plus. My favorite character really steps in and can’t wait for her story next - crossing fingers for more books in this universe. There are so many characters stories I want to dive into - so I hope Ruby K. hear my prayers.
The story line and plot were through laid out and well written.
Book one, the main focus was this curse placed upon King Zayed. How he has to kill his wife to keep the curse at bay. If not his Lycan goes into a rage and the land starts to be overcome by famine and drought. The only way to break the curse is to spend 1001 nights with Zayed as his Lycan. Zayed and his Uncle agreed to change her so she could better fight off his Lycan. But now that she has a Lycan his no longer feels the rage set on by the curse, or it is dulled and he can control it? The curse was definitely put on the back burner to follow the story line and that was the only plot hole that stood out.
Absolutely love Rise of the Lycan Queen! Can also be read as a standalone, given how much the main leads, Amara and Zayed grow in character and the evolution of their relationship. I live on a tropical island, yet I was transported into the world author Ruby has created in this book, I could literally feel myself surrounded by sand and sand dunes, with bedouins in their traditional attires depicted 🥰. There is a good sense of humour, which kept me smiling, but then i found myself feeling whatever the characters were feeling! One thing is for sure, Ruby's Rise of the Lycan Queen is full of plot twists and unexpected happenings. Totally recommend.
Amara and Zayed are back and we pick up with her on the verge of her first shift. Asya has saved her and now she must find Zayed so that they may save their kingdom. With her newfound lycan and her husband by her side she is stronger than ever. Unfortunately, things are not easy for them, but their love is beautiful and strong enough to conquer even the hardest battles. I loved watching their story go through all of the feelings while they continued to battle enemies from all over. This was such a beautifully written story that had me laughing, yelling and crying from start to finish.
I loved this book, the conclusion of a duology, and you should immediately add it to your TBR! The book centers on completing the story of Amara and Zayed, fated shifter mates in a race to save their kingdom, which has been usurped by an evil pretender trying to steal a magic carpet of legendary power. Told in a dual point of view style, this is a story of outrage, anguish, awakening, growth and justice. It spotlights healthy vs unhealthy relationships, fierce and strong warrior women, men using their strength to uplift women, badass MCs, and the true partnership of equals. I cannot say enough good things about the messages in the book, and you will ADORE the ending! Looking forward to Asha’s story! #women as equals #rubykhan
This is book 2 in the series and it starts after the cliffhanger from book one, so the series should really be read in order. Amara now has a lycan and she is fully mated with Zayed. Their kingdom has been taken over and they must work together to save it. We get to explore more characters in depth, while also watching Amara’s and Zayed’s love continue to grow. The support they show each other through all the ups and downs is truly inspiring. This book was written with a great plot, well developed characters, and lots of twists and turns to keep everyone guessing.
I loved this book. This whole story was great. I loved that Amara and Zayed have their Happily ever after. I was saddened to read about the loss of Amara’s father “Baba”. He died fighting for his daughter with no fear. There are some losses. There are moments that surprise you. I am glad they were able to break the curse. I can’t wait to read more by this author.
Not sure if the author ever reads these, but I am so very sorry for your loss. I also lost my father a little over a year ago and he fought metastatic lung cancer for 4 years. Many condolences to you and your family.

I thought the first book was good, this second book in the series is even BETTER! The plot twists were so good and I loved seeing Amara & Zayed's love story blossomed, those 2 are inseparable. I enjoyed seeing Asya's character growth and she has become such a bad a$$ like her sister Amara, I cant wait to read more about her in this series. I hope in the next book we get to see some flashbacks or read more stories about their mom because what I read really intrigued me, or I hope the author writes a prequel that's about Amara and Asya's mom.
Amara is the type of woman all women should look up to. Her strength, her values and her love for her husband and her people is inspiring. Uplifting women in this fairytale was amazing to read. Bravo to the author. Asya, Amara's sister is my favorite character. Her bravery, courage and love for her sister hold no bound. Add to this an evil king, magic and a magic carpet and you get a true gem of a story. Hope there is an additional book in the future.
Book two in this duology. We continue on our journey with these two fab MCs, this story is written so well with plenty of great twists and turns that keep you on your toes and engaged. The return of characters as well as a few new ones really ups the ante and makes this story a must read. Ruby creates great worlds that draw you in and take over your mind. Highly recommend this read and can’t wait to see what drops next.
I can’t say enough good things about this book. Amara’s journey from sacrifice to queen is powerful, emotional, and incredibly satisfying. Her relationship with Zayed evolves into a true partnership, built on trust, strength, and survival in a brutal world of blood and betrayal.
Watching Amara step fully into her power—stronger, fiercer, and unbroken—was everything. The ending, though, left me hoping for more, especially with the hints surrounding her sister. I truly hope there’s another book ahead because this world and these characters don’t feel finished yet.
Dark, romantic, and empowering—an easy five stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I’m not sure how it’s possible, but I loved this book even more than the first. Amara is just like any of us. She is so strong, courageous, just and loving but even with all of those traits she starts to doubt herself and her worth. Those around her do not have hold her up but they do help her to see what a true leader she is with their endless love and loyalty. She is the true embodiment of not only a warrior but a true queen destined to rebuild a kingdom with her king by her side.

Another fantasy banger from Ruby K. I throughly enjoyed this one, there are twists that make you say 'WTH' and revenge like no other, but totally deserved. I loved seeing both Amara and Zayed grow as the story continued, not only did they become stronger as a couple but they both grew independently. Yes they are stronger together but also they are equally strong apart. I'm so glad that we leave them with a HEA.
This was just fantastic to say in the least, the words just kept me interested the whole time. Amara is a force to be reckoned with come from a lowly house hold to be queen to it all being ripped away. I love how her kindness doesn’t show weakness at all. We all need a bit of Amara in us.
I loved this story. It was not predictable. This story is told with two point of view. It is an open door Romance. It continues the story of 1001 Nights with the Lycan King so it is necessary to read the first story.
Spoiler alert!! I love that Amara grows in MORE to be a stronger woman than she already was!!! If you haven’t read book 1 then RUN to read it! It’s worth it if you’re looking to reading this fantastic story!! I live that it includes the story of Jasmin and the rug!! Can’t wait for the next book!

This was a perfekt ending to this series, it’s a easy read that start Right where book one ended, And I really have to say that that’s was an amazing way too end this.
This was an ARC I received a few months and it came out just a couple weeks ago. It's book 2 of the Duology. I loved how it ended and how the author took the Aladdin fairytale and made it completely her own and unique that it made wonder how it was an Aladdin retelling.
