The term cliffhanger is considered to have originated with Thomas Hardy's serial novel A Pair of Blue Eyes in 1873. In the novel, Hardy chose to leave one of his protagonists, Knight, literally hanging off a cliff staring into the stony eyes of a trilobite embedded in the rock that has been dead for millions of years. This became the archetypal — and literal — cliff-hanger of Victorian prose.

linda historia fea traducción
Pensé en leer la novela para profundizar en el desarrollo de los personajes de la película que lleva el mismo nombre. No se si es por la mala traducción, pero lejos de encariñarme con los protagonistas en el libro, valoré más a los personajes de la película.
La historia es linda, sin mucho más. Ella no me pareció la mujer fuerte que refleja la película sino una persona más bien volátil, de convicciones débiles, caprichosa.
