I just loved it. I wish it had been longer.

This book is largely autobiographical, so it tends to focus on the author's lessons learned. Her ideas are wide ranging and her suggestions, while often tongue-in-cheek, have a core of truth to them.

FYI, she talks about diet and gastric bypass surgery to help her lose weight. While she is not making any medical recommendations, she does have a good story about how she navigated these muddy waters. Unfortunately, I have a friend who died from gastric bypass surgery, so I am not a fan. On the other hand, all surgery is dangerous. They tell you that beforehand and many people get through it without dying. My experience when quizzing a different friend about it is that it is of limited value.

But it is not all about dieting and surgery. I am focusing on it because of my special issue with it.

I'd love to read this book again... real soon.

Couldn't get through it. I wanted some fun stories I could relate to as a gen x woman in middle age, but 1/4 of the way in I just found myself saying "huh?" over and over so I gave up.
