Spectral #3
Spectral Quest
Mike:
A long work trip was supposed to be my reset button — soak up a new culture, forget my ex, and absolutely not fall into another emotional mess. Simple, right?
Then I started talking to Dylan.
My little brother’s best friend. My new roommate. The guy whose voice somehow became the best part of my day.
Just as I’m starting to wonder when exactly “friendly chats” turned into can’t-stop-smiling feelings, I find a ring box… and unlock a family trait: apparently, I can see ghosts now.
Specifically, Erik — a very persistent ghost — who needs my help delivering that ring to his boyfriend, Marcus.
Now I’m juggling a secret ability I never asked for, ghost-training sessions, and feelings for Dylan that are definitely not part of the plan. Being a medium is harder than my family made it look, especially when I start leaning on Dylan a little too much… and after I faint at work, it’s impossible to ignore that whatever’s happening between us isn’t just friendship anymore.
Spectral Quest is an MM Paranormal Romance featuring a medium and his greatest temptation. Expect a bi-awakening, friends-to-lovers, accidental bonding, ghosts, low angst, and a sizzling romance. HEA guaranteed. Can be read as a standalone but best enjoyed after reading Spectral Meddling.

Dylan has been in love with Mike for years but it’s always been one sided…until now. Mike has been going through it, first with the break up, then finding out he’s a medium like his family. Thankfully he has his new bff Dylan to help him. However, when he moves in, he abruptly realizes he isn’t as straight as he thought. Dylan decides to go for it and brings out the big guns to seduce his man, and you guessed it it worked! Despite being new at being with a man, Mike waste no time learning all about the new and fun things he and Dylan can do. We get to see a whole new side to Mike as he and Dylan discover a lot of things about themselves, including some fun wearables and a paddle.
They both decide to join horses and learn the family trade. I love how supportive and caring Dylan is for Mike. He may be the younger one, but he is definitely the daddy in the duo. Despite some difficulties and mishaps, our guys stay strong and find their way together. These two are the greenest of flags. I loved their story and how in love they are. This has been a great series, it has true love, fun spicy scenes, and ghosts, what more can you ask for? I want to thank the author for letting me read this in advance and I hope to read more in the future.

Spectral Quest by Regitse Liljadorff is the 3rd book in her Spectral series. It is the story of a man who learns he is a medium in his later life and another man who has loved him for a long time and becomes his anchor and how they help ghosts move to the light. Mike comes from a family of mediums but he hasn’t shown any of their abilities. He has just gotten out of a bad relationship and as an anthropologist is happy to go to Africa for 2 years to study a small community. His younger brother Pete is a medium but just left his job to be with his boyfriend Jackson as they start a new endeavor. Pete’s best friend is Dylan who has always had a crush on Mike and when he leaves for his assignment they start texting. During this time they learn a lot about each other and Mike finds himself drawing closer to Dylan and really liking him. On a walk with his work partner Ivar, something calls to Mike and sends him off the trail where he discovers a small red box. When he opens it, a ghost jumps out and yells that he has to return the ring in it to Marcus. In this world mediums are well known and Mike suddenly realizes that he is one, which he isn’t happy about. But as Erik talks to him and tells him his story, how he died, and how much he loved Marcus he knows he has to help him, plus Erik has attached himself to Mike and will always be with him until he goes to the light. Mike returns home and stays with Dylan who is happy about that and starts his new job as a medium with his boss, Rino, and Dylan says he will help and care for him however he can. As he begins his training it doesn’t go well as the energy from the ghosts overwhelms him and they soon discover that Dylan can help him by touching him whenever he’s in the presence of ghosts. This means he is Mike’s anchor and that they are bonded and have to always be near each other. Dylan is worried that this will bother Mike, but Mike has realized how important he is to him and is happy about it and bonds are only made if there is already an emotional attachment and if it’s an anchor bond it can’t be broken. This leads them to kissing and a hot love scene as they declare their love for each other. They worked on several missions together and are successful so Rino said they were ready to go to Denmark to help Erik find Marcus. Erik has become a good friend to both of them, and even though Dylan can’t interact with him, Erik is able to write down answers to questions so he feels like he knows him, too. Mediums are scarce in some places so Rino asked them to work on 4 other cases while they are there. The first one goes well but the second one is in a castle with a nasty ghost who has hurt other mediums. It is also a surprise when Marcus is the medium that meets them there to help. He has an amazing reunion with Erik and the two of them want to be together until Marcus also becomes a ghost so he is able to get Erik attached to him instead of Mike. While Mike and Dylan are sad that Erik won’t be with them anymore, they are very happy for both of them. Then Mike learns that he is a special medium when he banishes the bad ghost and he and Dylan are able to take a vacation in a cabin at a snowy resort where they help another ghost. Rino decides that they have worked hard enough that they don’t have to do the other jobs in Denmark so they return home to start a happy life together, traveling the world on different missions, helping ghosts, and being very much in love. I really enjoyed this book. Ms. Liljadorff has a very unique take on mediums and ghosts and what they are able to do together that made it fascinating. Mike was happy with his life and glad he wasn’t a medium until he became one. It took some figuring out and some bad headaches until they decided that Dylan was his anchor and could steady him. Dylan had always liked Mike but was sure nothing could come of it, first because he was younger and second because Mike was into girls. But as they got to know each other through texts and then being together Mike knew that Dylan was the one for him and was glad when they bonded. There were many exciting scenes where they helped the ghosts and learned more about what having an anchor meant. Pete, Jackson, and Rino were also important in the story. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like stories that include a medium that just discovered what he was, the training he had to go through to figure out what he needed to help ghosts, the man who wanted him and becomes his everything as well as being there to be his anchor, and lots of ghosts who need help getting where they need to go.

REVIEW: Mikes mother and younger brother were born mediums with the ability to see and hear ghosts. Their job is to help the ghosts move into the light and pass on. Mike’s mum has always told Mike that one day he will come into his powers, but at this point, Mike believes that he just isn’t meant to be a medium. Instead he pursues his dream career in anthropology with the intention to travel the world. His girlfriend has other ideas, she hates his job and would rather he spends all of his time with her. When Mike and his girlfriend split up again, the one person he wants to talk to is Dylan, his younger brother‘s best friend. Dylan has had a crush on Mike for years. When Mike’s job takes him to Africa for 2 years they end up texting and calling multiple times a day and for some reason talking to Dylan settles Mike and makes him happy.
Mike finds a box and inside there’s a ring, he’s drawn to it for some reason and the moment he touches it he can he suddenly develops his medium powers and Erik the ghost attached to the ring needs help. As a new medium Mike needs immediate training so he flies home and moves in with Dylan. Training and goes terribly, with Mike coming into his mediumship later in life, his energy is drained most immediately when he comes into contact with more than one ghost. He faints, energy completely drained, and Dylan gets a frantic phone call from Mike’s new boss to say Mike is in a bad way and keeps asking for him. It turns out Mike is a rare type of medium who needs an anchor, somebody without the ability to see or hear spirits to share their energy with him when he starts to drain his own. Anchors are usually romantic partners because a bond has to have already formed before they can act as an aid for a medium. Dylan already knows that he’s in love with mine but Mike has to have feelings for Dylan also or this bond wouldn’t have developed. Mike, however is straight, and will need to be close to Dylan forever. So what now?
This was such a sweet story, really low angst and cozy. The ghost hunting was exciting and Dylan and Mike were a great team and Erik’s love story was bonus cuteness! For a book with such an insta love story line it was surprisingly spicy. Loved reading this on a chilly rainy afternoon.

If you aren’t familiar with @regitseliljadorff and her Spectral series, consider this your PSA! I love these books and their cheeky humor, pnr vibes, and intriguing MCs.
Dylan. He’s been in love with his best friend Pete’s older brother Mike forever. After Mike breaks up with a girlfriend who did not get him at all, Dylan offers friendship and support. When Mike heads overseas for work they begin an adorable, flirty friendship via text, giving Dylan hope. Now that Mike is back from Africa, he’s determined to make him notice him - and has the leather pants to help jump start the process.
Mike is the outlier in a family of mediums, the one without powers. Unattached and alone in a foreign country, he looks forward to his almost daily chats with Dylan. So when a ghost attaches itself to Mike, awakening his powers, he heads back home for guidance. And he and Dylan (and Erik the ghost) become roommates while things get sorted out. Along the way Mike and Dylan discover an unexpected connection that changes everything.
Things I loved:
🌵Dylan telling Mike’s awful ex Vera her presence is not wanted - and exactly where things stand with him and Mike.
🌵Dylan and Erik bonding over Operation Win Mike Over
🌵Dylan and Mike’s ghostly adventures. I love the scenarios and each encounter they dealt with. Mike may have become a medium later than others, but his empathy and respect make him a king.
🌵The Norwegian adventure!
🌵Mike wearing his heart on his sleeve. I love a man who shows his emotions.
🌵Dylan’s hilarious job history.
🌵Dylan and Mike’s reaction whenever they’re with Pete and Jackson - and how hard they try to ignore what their best friend and little brother are up to. (IYKYK 😉)
🌵Erik and Marcus. I loved Erik and once I met Marcus I wanted, no needed, their story!
This is a sweet, low-angst book with two MCs who are lovely. They are passionate and so caring with each other. I loved how their shared sense of adventure led them to the life they both dreamed of.
Don’t miss this - and binge books 1&2 to get the full experience. Besides their ghostly encounters, there’s tenderness, travel, and a whip.

I had such a great time reading Spectral Quest. This book perfectly balances paranormal adventure, heartfelt romance, and character growth, creating a story that kept me engaged from beginning to end.
The story follows Mike, who unexpectedly discovers he has inherited his family's ability to communicate with spirits after a mysterious encounter during a work trip. Suddenly thrown into a world he never expected to be part of, Mike must learn how to navigate his new reality while also figuring out his feelings for Dylan, his longtime friend and biggest source of support.
One of my favorite parts of this book was the relationship between Mike and Dylan. Their connection develops naturally, and it was wonderful watching their friendship evolve into something deeper. Dylan's patience, loyalty, and unwavering support make him impossible not to love, while Mike's journey of self-discovery adds an emotional layer that makes their romance feel genuine and rewarding. They truly bring out the best in each other.
Beyond the romance, I loved the paranormal elements. The family history, medium abilities, and spirit interactions added an interesting twist that helped the story stand out. The supernatural plot never overshadowed the characters but instead enhanced their growth and provided meaningful challenges for them to overcome.
The cast of side characters also deserves recognition. They helped bring warmth, humor, and personality to the story, making the world feel lived-in and welcoming. Every interaction felt purposeful, and I found myself invested in more than just the main couple.
What stood out most to me was how comforting this book felt. Even when difficult situations arose, the story maintained a hopeful and uplifting atmosphere. It's the kind of book that leaves you smiling long after you've finished reading. Between the lovable characters, sweet romance, paranormal elements, and emotional depth, this was a highly enjoyable read that I would gladly recommend to anyone looking for a heartwarming MM romance with a touch of the supernatural.

directly from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Regitse Liljadorff delivers a wonderfully charming and entertaining addition to the Spectral series with Spectral Quest. This low-angst, high-heat MM paranormal romance is incredibly fast-paced, blending a sweet friends-to-lovers dynamic with an outrageous and delightful supernatural twist.
The story follows Mike, who takes a long work trip hoping to reset his life and escape an emotional mess. During his time away, he finds himself texting constantly with Dylan—his little brother’s best friend—whose voice and messages quickly become the best part of his day. Just as their chats turn into real feelings, Mike accidentally unlocks a dormant family trait: he can suddenly see ghosts. After leaving his job to handle this chaotic new reality, Mike moves in with Dylan. Juggling secret ghost-training sessions with a persistent spirit named Erik while navigating a massive roommate bi-awakening quickly turns Mike's world upside down.
The paranormal elements are a total blast and executed with a lot of humor. Watching Dylan's long-standing, secret crush on Mike finally come to fruition is easily the highlight of the story. While it works perfectly fine as a standalone, the narrative is best enjoyed if you have already read Spectral Meddling.
It is an adorable, lighthearted, and sizzling romance that makes a fantastic addition to any reader's Pride Month TBR list.

The Spectral series has always been one of my favorites when it comes to Regitse’s books, so I was beyond excited to get the chance to beta read this one 🩷
I already loved the previous books in the series: they’re fun, funny, and just the right amount of spicy… and this book was no exception.🤭🥵
When I first met Dylan in Spectral Meddling, he had me laughing so much. So when I heard he was getting his own book… YES, please!🤩
Mike’s life takes a dramatic turn when he accidentally unlocks his medium abilities during a work trip in Africa. Suddenly, everything changes. Along the way, he forms an unexpected connection with Dylan, his younger brother’s best friend. What starts as constant texting slowly grows into something deeper, and when Mike finally returns home after two years abroad, their relationship shifts in a big way.🥹
As Mike and Dylan begin to fall for each other, they’re also forced to navigate a mix of personal struggles, ghostly chaos, and work-related challenges. Thankfully, Dylan is there for Mike every step of the way.
This was such a fun, light read! Regitse’s writing flows effortlessly, and I loved that there was a plot twist
- Uhm Hello?!🤭🤯
We meet a new ghost, Erik, and omg, we need an Erik book. That guy is absolutely hilarious!🤣
If you’re looking for a fun, ghostly adventure filled with swoony moments, low angst, and plenty of heat, (i mean there is a leather pants involved, and a whip.🤭)
this book is definitely for you.

This was such a cute book! It starts off with Dylan and Mike knowing each other because Dylan is best friends with Mike’s younger brother, and Mike has absolutely no idea that Dylan has a crush on him. I adored the long-distance texts and phone calls and the two of them getting close this way whilst Mike was away for work, and suddenly things got a whole lot more complicated once Mike unlocks the medium ability that apparently runs in his family! Suddenly, Mike is back home and in need of a place to stay whilst undergoing training on his newfound abilities, and of course it’s Dylan once rescue! Their relationship evolves, and I liked how Dylan is such a rock for Mike throughout the story 💖
I nearly cried when we got some backstory on some of the ghosts Mike and Dylan come across—they had some truly awful experiences when they were alive 😭 but, for the most part, this is a low-angst story, the pacing is steady and the author lets us know when there have been time jumps in the story.
I also really liked the lace 😏 and the whip tehee 😇
I did wish I got a little more insight into Mike’s medium training—but I fully acknowledge that this might be my own fault as, full disclosure, I have not read the first two books in this series. This is a standalone, but if medium training has been covered in an earlier book, I fully understand the author not going into details of it in this book in order to avoid repetition, so I will go read those books and hopefully get answers to my curiosity there 😊
I received an ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

Spectral Quest by Regitse Liljadorff is the 3rd book in her Spectral series. This is a new to me author. I haven't read the earlier books in this series and I was able to enjoy this book with no problems. This is the story of Mike and Dylan. Mike is an anthropologist who happily went to Africa for two years to work because his relationship exploded. While away with his job, Mike has started an online friendship with his younger brother's best friend Dylan. Speaking with Dylan is the best part of Mike's day. Dylan has had a crush on his best friend's big brother for years. He looks forward to each interaction between them. But when Mike unexpectedly finds out that he has in fact inherited the family gift of being a medium, everything changes. His life is turned upside down and he has a very steep learning curve to endure. Luckily, he has Dylan by his side throughout. When they see that Dylan stabilizes Mike, they realize that he is Mike's anchor. This is their story. The book is well written and easy to read. I received a complementary advanced review copy of this book from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review. This is such a sweet story. I enjoyed watching Mike and Dylan fall in love and build a relationship together. There is a lot of paranormal adventure in this book but the romance does not get lost. The two complement each other beautifully. I enjoyed this book.

Review (Spectral-3) Spectral Quest by Regitse Liljadorff
Tropes-
Talking of ghosts dying
Freezing to death
avalanche
murder
MC getting hurt while on a case
Fainting
A partner who was unsupportive
Trying to help ghost pass into the light
All Mike wanted was to take in the culture of the places on his trip. He is trying to get over and past his feelings for his ex. All he wants is to find himself again after losing himself for a while. Dylan is my brother's best friend, who, by the way, is his new roommate. Mike starts to feel his life changing just from being around Dylan. He sees light in his life, which he hasn't felt in a while. He makes me smile when I haven't had anything to smile about in a while. While his life has changed and is becoming better, he finds a ring box that is from his family. In doing so he finds out he can see ghosts. What is going on? He now sees ghosts, and the one he is around right now is so pushy. I loved stories like this. I love when one of the MCs can see ghosts and in seeing them helps them. I loved the way these two men grew into their relationship. I am such a paranormal reader, so this hit my wants quite well. I have to read more by this author since this was the first one I have read. I need to read the first two in this series for sure.

This was exactly the kind of paranormal romance I love, lighthearted, charming, and full of characters that are impossible not to root for. The ghostly mystery kept the story moving, but it was Mike’s personal journey that kept me invested.
I really enjoyed watching him stumble his way into the world of mediums. He’s completely out of his depth at first, and some of the situations he finds himself in because of it were both funny and surprisingly touching. The family gift felt less like a superpower and more like a responsibility he never asked for, which made his reactions feel believable.
The romance was my favourite part, though. Mike and Dylan already have an established connection, so there’s a comfort and familiarity between them from the start. I loved the little moments such as the concern, the quiet support, the way Dylan was always there when Mike needed someone. Their relationship develops naturally, and by the time things turned romantic, it felt like the obvious next step.
I was also pleasantly surprised by how emotional the ghost storyline became. What starts as a simple mission ends up carrying quite a bit of heart, and I found myself just as invested in that resolution as I was in the romance.
A nice warm, feel-good read with a lovely mix of humour, supernatural elements, and romance.

A nice warm, feel-good read with a lovely mix of humour, supernatural elements, and romance.

It is the third book in the Spectral series and follows Mike and Dylan — Pete's brother and best friend. While all books can be read as standalones, I'd recommend reading Spectral Meddling before this one for better context.
The story is sweet and unlike anything I've read before. Mike is soft-hearted, emotional, and someone who deeply values connection and affection, qualities that were dismissed in his past relationship, leaving him with insecurities he carries into this one. Dylan has his own fears too, and watching both of them navigate their feelings while clearly being perfect for each other was both frustrating and endearing in the best way.
What I loved most was how their dynamic was built — through care, comfort, and quiet moments rather than grand gestures. I also really enjoyed how the ghosts in this world are written. They're considerate and don't unnecessarily complicate the lives of the mediums, which made their presence feel warm rather than dramatic.
My only gripe is that some parts of the story felt like detours — scenes or subplots that didn't quite serve the main plot and could have been trimmed without losing anything meaningful.
Overall, Spectral Quest is a cute, heart warming read with a unique premise and a pairing that genuinely grows on you.

SPECTRAL QUEST is the third book in the Spectral series, and while it says you can read this without having read the others, I would recommend you DO read the others first, as it will (hopefully) give you more information on Mike and Dylan, as well as the rules for Mediums, and their training, in this world.
I found it to be a very light read, although some of the ghosts' backstories are not-so-nice. There is no angst between our two main characters. Their relationship goes from being sort of acquaintances/friends, to text buddies, to friends, to anchors, and finally to lovers. It does leapfrog with the timeline, so it isn't instantaneous, although it felt like it at times.
Erik was a sweetheart, and I loved every scene he was in. He has one wish in death, and that's to see Marcus again. But he's attached to Mike, so will he get his wish?
Overall, this was a fun read that I did enjoy, but I do wish I had read the others first. Still, I was invested in the story, so definitely recommended by me.

BEAUTIFULLY POIGNANT AND SWEET!💕 🏰🌵🍔⛷️
Oh how I adored this book and the characters although I missed the other two books it can be read as a stand-alone.
Two lonely souls who become friends after their best friends and brother are too loved up, find a deep connection through a long distance friendship which intensifies with the help of a lost ghost who deepens that connection when they return home by meddling with hilarious and sweet results!
I loved how they bonded and showed depictions of being more Demi than bisexual which intensified their relationship which made them the ideal pairing with Mike being a medium and Dylan anchoring him!
Their quest to Denmark was so interesting and exciting with their holiday destination afterwards that just was so sweet and poignant!
The toxic ex Vera was very frustrating and stubborn but Dylan rectified that situation very quickly lol!
I loved their mothers who just wanted them married lol and Erik who became very dear to Mike who was looking for his lost love Markus- I hope there’s a book about them in the future…
The Easter egg regarding the next couple in the sweet epilogue a year later is intriguing…
I voluntarily received an ARC from GRR for an honest non biased review of the authors work.

Let me just tell you I have become a huge fan of this author. They have some of the most diverse and amazing books you'll ever read. Spectral quest is book 3 and the spectral series. I advise you to read books one and two they're absolutely amazing as well.
In this book we get Mike and Dylan. What starts out as a long trip to forget for Mike, things start to heat up. Dylan who is Mike's younger brother's best friend is now his roommate. During all of this time Mike unlocks a key secret family trait which is he sees ghost. Now enters Erik a very persistent in a little bit of a smart aleck ghost who needs help from Mike delivering the ring to his boyfriend marcus.
The blurb said it best, when it gave its description. It says, Now I’m juggling a secret ability I never asked for, ghost-training sessions, and feelings for Dylan that are definitely not part of the plan. Being a medium is harder than my family made it look, especially when I start leaning on Dylan a little too much… and after I faint at work, it’s impossible to ignore that whatever’s happening between us isn’t just friendship anymore.
This book is absolutely phenomenal it takes some wild turns and I absolutely love it.

‼️SPOILERS‼️
I have only read one book in this series and that book alone was fun and exciting, so I knew this one was going to have so much fun with this one.
I loved Dylan and Mike so much in this one.
I really loved Mike so much. He just went through a breakup and to be honest, good riddance. Mike has also discovered he is a medium, so he can communicate with the ghosts that he sees.
They one ghost was a little crazy. I was so happy when Mike also fibbed with another ghost to give the ghost his happily ever after because the man definitely deserved it.
What I loved was the other characters we get to see. Also, the natural way that Dylan and Mike fall into each other’s grace was absolutely perfect.
I loved the mom because she was a hoot. And the leather pants… iykyk! And Erik and Marcus! Those two seriously had my heart.
I love a book that really kept me on toes by making me wanting more and more from the paranormal aspect along with the building relationship between the two MC’s. I also loved the way that when the ghosts need help moving on, they’re able to.

i received an ARC from the author via GRR & this review only contains my honest thoughts and feelings about this book.💐
i liked the premise, but the plot and the characters felt awkward?
there was no real plot, we just kept jumping from one plot point to another and there was no climax (plot wise, because sexwise they were climaxing a lot🥲).
the characters felt sallow, i still don't really know their personalities, usually when you read a book, you can tell if you like a character or not based on their personalities. dylan and mike were neutral? i didn't really hate them but i didn't really love them either.
i've said this before and i'll say it again, it might be a me problem, because the author is a hit or miss one for me. i've loved some of her work but i've also not... some of it.
i already have some of her other books, so i will continue reading her work for now, but at some point i should stop because it's not fair to her or me. but her ideas are so good!! it's the execution i have a problem with?

"Spectral Quest" is Regitse Liljadorf's third book in the Spectral series. It's a paranormal brother's best friend story with secret crush, friends to lovers and bi-awakening tropes.
Mike comes from a family of mediums, but doesn't exhibit any magic of his on. Off on a two year anthropology assignment, he begins a correspondence with his brother, Pete's best friend, Dylan. They draw close through texting, becoming friends. Africa awakens his medium powers and when he returns home, he begins training.
Dylan has a longtime secret crush on the straight Mike. When Mike returns from assignment with a ghost familiar, Dylan offers to house him. Turns out Dylan is his bonded anchor. And that Mike is not as straight as he thought.
Trained, Dylan and Mike begin their careers as a medium team, encountering ghosts. Some good, some bad. Exciting ghost banishing, sizzling spice. Some very supportive secondaries.
This was a quick, enjoyable read. Best in the series as far as I'm concerned. Can't wait for more.

4.5* rounded up.
I really enjoyed the third Spectral book, I personally think it needs to be read in order to understand the character's background and the setting of the book.
Mike and Dylan are utterly adorable. As both are slightly sidelined when their respective best friends start dating, these two form a friendship. When Mike's abilities suddenly make themselves known, it's Dylan who is his first point of contact.
There is plenty of development and Mike has some unique ability added to being a medium.
It's a great book to read when you just want something angst and drama free, pack the whole series when you go on holiday or just curl up at home.
Slight star deduction as I found the whip play a bit too simplified.

Love this series and this one did not disappoint. The writing is great, the characters really stand out and the banter and character/ story crossover is just brilliant. Dylan and Mike really make me laugh, separately as well as together. Poor Mike has been suck in a bad relationship and whilst trying to get over it and moving on with his life and new job he finds a great friend in Dylan (his brother's best friend). When life goes a bit crazy and everything becomes too much Dylan is there for him with a gorgeous smile and the best burgers ever. Can this become more and could Dylan be his person.
Love this spectral universe and having all the past characters appear throughout, (literally) just adds to my love.

This story has great potential to get 5 stars. I think the premise of the book would make for a great series. I love books about mediums and ghosts, but I felt the storyline was rushed in the beginning. I did not get to know the characters and become invested in them before their lives changed. They just bounced from one event to another chasing ghosts but it lacked depth. No real connection to family or friends. Then the author had some BDSM content thrown in to the story. When dealing with BDSM I prefer to see a writer who really explores explaining the lifestyle. This just felt added as an afterthought and did not tie well to the story. Overall, it was fun to read but the writing style just did not have me engaged completely.

I loved it! I was also really hoping Dylan would be the solution to Mike's problem with the energy draining from him while being a medium and luckily that came true. I also loved how Mike didn't know he was in love with/attracted to Dylan, but still accepted it for 100%.
I also really loved Eric and I was beyond happy the author decided to.give him his own story, eventhough she doesn't know when that's going to be.
The story is very cute and kinda gave fated mates vibes and I was totally here for it.
Quotes:
"Had I known these pants were this irresistible, I would've worn them sooner, dammit!"
"No one, dead or alive, was allowed to see my man in his pretty lace panties. Only me."
Tropes:
👻Anchor × medium
⚓️Vers couple
👻Lace panties
P.S. I received an ARC, but this is my honest opinion. Thank you to GRR for the ARC.
P.P.S. I have one tiny thing though. To me it was a bit weird how Marcus couldn't touch Eric at first and then suddenly he could. There was no explanation for why this was suddenly possible in the book. Through context clues my explanation is because Marcus bonded Eric to himself, but I don't know for sure.

For Mike there were a few things he was not expecting. He was trying not to follow in his family's footsteps and be a medium but when he is away and meets his first ghost, a rather persistent one who was humorous, needy, and Erik the ghost did not mind sticking his nose in and meddling. And then there was Dylan. Mike had just gotten out of a relationship with a woman that left him feeling low before he went to Africa to do research. But he struck up a correspondence with his brother's friend Dylan that was engaging and came to find out that his connection to Dylan grew past friendship. It was so cool that their connection grew at a distance and through texts and chats. So romantic.

This author is one of my favourites to read! Her stories are always swoon worthy yet have a good, attention grabbing storyline. The romance between Mike and Dylan is very sweet and kind of fast burn (they do talk for 2 years before becoming a thing but dont see eachother) and spicy. No third act breakup just a very well written love story that becomes more and more! The story itself if very interesting too. Mike becomes a medium, helping ghosts cross to the other side with Dylan as his anchor. They go through a few adventures togheter while we can also see and meet the charathers from previous and future books. Cant wait foe Seth!

I had the biggest smile on my face as I read this book. It was so freaking cute and fun. This MM paranormal romance was such a low angst and fast-paced feel-good book. I really enjoyed the quirky characters. The flirty texts and chatting between Mike and Dylan made me giggle. And Erik, the ghost and his medling and comments, were hilarious. The way Dylan was so possessive and took care of Mike was so adorable. A sweet/spicy entertaining book.
Tropes:

Bi-awakening
Friends to lovers
Brother's best friend
Roommates
Forced proximity
Dual POV
Thank you, GRR and Regitse Liljadorff, for the opportunity to read this book.

Mike has really been through it. First a break up with his ex, then he becomes roommates with his best friend's little brother Dylan (who he doesn't know has been in love with him) and then he starts to have feelings for Dylan far beyond friend's or roommates, and theeeeeen he finds out he can see ghosts and gets involved being a medium for his family buiness while now taking lessons on all things ghosts. This was a sweet interesting book with some spice, paranormal activity, a determined ghost and lots of feels. I really enjoyed this one. I read the first book in the series but not the second yet so it's my mission to do just that.
June 15, 2026
I actually jumped into this book before reading any other books in the series, but I wasn't lost at all. Some of the characters (both human and ghost) could have used a little more explanation, so we learn who each person is from this POV, rather than just saying "this is Richard the ghost, moving on." But we did get to know the main characters of the story.
Overall I loved the book, it was fun seeing the pining over distance turn to trust and then love. And it's always fun to have a spooky twist, especially with a parallel love story that needs a chapter closed from the ghost that started this psychic medium plot off. I plan to explore more from this author!

I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.
I wonder if I would have enjoyed this book better if I had read the series in order. it almost felt like this was two different books. The first part feels like it is setting up friends to lovers (with a history of one sided pining thrown in. Once there is a development where they end up having a bond, it is a pretty immediate switch to committed romantic and sexual relationship. The rest of the book mainly is focused on ghosts that need assistance.
Don’t get me wrong, often enjoy low angst, but this felt like the angst or stakes were too low to keep me engaged.

Well, this was fun! This story is about one surprise after another. Mike goes on a trip hoping to take his mind off of his breakup. He finds a box which displays he has a special gift as medium, which is a family trait. He meets a spirit, Erik who gives him a mission. He starts talking to his brother's friend Dylan with whom he develops an affinity. Turns out, Dylan has always had a crush on him. New doors are open for Mike and Dylan and their lives evolvesand change. Dylan and Mike are amazing characters. Great flow, nice supporting characters, fun adventure, nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Loved this entry in the series! It was wonderful that Mike took a trip to try to reset his life after a messy breakup and other general life stressors only to find his entire world changed. He discovers that he possesses the family mediumship ability and as his understanding and skill develops there there are some interesting problems for him to solve for the spirits he encounters plus his relationship with Dylan, his brother's best friend, changes from friendship to something deep, sweet and hot. Great premise and great characters.
