~*~ Monster Stepbrother ~*~

His dark obsession runs deep.

He's obsessed with her.
She's addicted to him.
Two damaged souls.
Will they heal or ruin one another?

How does a girl go from being Daddy's precious doll to a different kind of toy?
Easy really. When my father remarries it changes the course of my life and everything becomes . . . complicated.

My new stepbrother is a monster who hates me. Unapologetic, controlling, and brazen, he's intent on making my life a living hell.
Oliver King makes the rules. Whenever he wants. However he wants. Wherever he wants.
My head screams this is wrong, but I can't resist giving in to forbidden desires.
I want it as much as he does.

I'm his possession, his ultimate pleasure, his dark obsession.
My addiction to him grows to a dangerous level. I can't stop craving more from the man who has made me his and ruined me for anyone else.
Can what starts out as lust and vengeance end as love?
Can we take away one another's pain and ease one another's fears?

Nobody said life or love was easy.
My name is Maya Childs, and this is my story.

After being pleasantly surprised by Prick, I decided to try Monster Stepbrother in hopes that I might replicate my previous luck.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

If anyone asks what this book is about, let's see. Girl and boy are step-siblings but they are constantly hard and wet for each other. Girl hates boy because he's a meanie while boy hates girl because duh...reasons.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Boy calls girl slut and whore, practically rapes and assaults her and manipulates her into a purely sexual relationship. But that's okay, he's IN LURVE with her anyway and she LOVES it anyway, so no harm.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

In other words, this was one of the WORST BOOK I've read.

Why I read this?
Because it looks like stepbrother romance novels are a new trend. I was curious. How does that saying go? "Curiosity killed the cat"?
(P.S. Possible spoilers and only for those over 18.)

My reaction?

description

Let's start with the title! Monster Stepbrother. If that doesn't scream "trashy" and "porn" and "WTF", I don't know what does.

Frequent words. Slut, whore, fuck, stepsister, stepbrother, dark obsession, wrong, Bee, Oliver King... It's not that hard to imagine 90% of the plot thanks just to these words.

Plot. Wait, what plot? Jerking off, hard ons, wet panties, blow jobs, endless thinking about how hot stepbrother/stepsister is, slut shaming, quasi-dominant, Oliver fucking other girls, Maya watching how Oliver fucks other girls... Oh, we can not forget virgin/slut plot twist. And of course, there has to be a reason why they are acting that way. Ta-dam... Oliver's parents were stepsibilings - of course he has issues. Maya's mother killed her self after giving a birth at age 18 - and of course Maya is a cutter, and of course, she almost kill her self.
But Oliver is not a bad guy in the and, he actually loves her and all "blackmailing" (something both of them use as an excuse because it is "wrong" and "forbidden" and they are "family") her to have sex with him - he just wanted to give her a reason to live and think about something else. They are in love. The airport scene. Their parents support them. They live happily ever after. (After Oliver explains to Maya that he called her slut and whore becuase he was jealous.)

Only positive thing I can say about Monster Stepbrother? Great porn! ;)

NO RATING

Gone are the days where I waste my time reading a book when it's obviously not doing it for me. This won't be long just a few sentences.

I enjoy reading:
*non/dub con
*forced seduction

I basically love reading anything with dark elements. I complained about slut shaming in this book in a status update.
Well here's why:
Hey I've read books where the hero or heroine is called a slut or whore many times. But when it's repeatedly said throughout the book, practically on every page then we have a problem people. Because that shit started to annoy me!

Instead of an anti-hero who seems tortured and broody, or maybe dark and sinister (look he has to have some attractive qualities even if he is a villain). You've given me a sexual predator with mommy issues, hence the deep seeded hatred for woman. Because yes, Oliver Kings hates woman.

That is what I surmised while reading this book. Because any woman who is not a virgin when he takes her is used.

Poor execution people. Really I get what the author was trying to do here, but it did not work. The story was lost behind cheesy and trashy dialogue, which ultimately made the story flop.

Moving on.

★★ 2.5 Stars ★★

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD

Unfortunately, when the main character spends the majority of the book fucking another woman, I can't honestly rate it 3 or above.

It was potentially a good story, Oliver King is a grumpy teenager when he first meets his little stepsister Maya and he can't stand her joyful manner when their parents have just married and become an insta-family.

Fast forward 4 years and they apparently have had a rocky relationship, even though Oliver is at boarding school and only visits on occasion. Maya is 16 at this point and he blackmails her into getting him off. This made me feel slightly uncomfortable and although no touching is involved, him being 4 years older was skeeving me out a bit.

Fast forward another 2 years, Oliver finds himself back home again and after slut shaming Maya, finds her in a bad way. Now, I know he is supposed to be a monster, hence the title, but what he continues to do is quite shocking. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE dark reads and I will jump at the chance to read and fall in love with a twisted headcase but It just didn't work for me in this instance.

_ _ _ _

The storyline seemed to be focused on pure sex, talking about sex, thinking about sex, doing sex - there really wasn't much depth to the story. I would have liked to have found out what turned Maya from a sweet girl into an insecure and lonely woman. Oliver too was one dimensional and we didn't see any other personality from him except BASTARD until the end.

If you are looking for pure SMUT, then you may enjoy this one. I am sorry to say that it didn't work for me.

ARC gratefully received from the author in exchange for an honest review

** 2,5-3 “my drug of choice” STARS **

“You, Oliver King, are a f*cking monster. I despise you.”

“And you, Maya Childs, are MY little sl*t. Deal with it.”

description

Okay...Now don't start stoning me yet, but I didn't exactly HATE this book, you guys.

I wasn't offended with most of the stuff everybody else did, like the constant sl*t-shaming and the never-ending hornyness. In fact, I think it was all pretty damn sexy... *covers face*

“Don’t delude yourself. The last thing I want is your c*ck.”

“One of these days you’ll know what my c*ck feels like. I’ll make you my sl*t, Maya, and you will f*cking beg for it. You’ll CRAVE what I can give you.

description

I mean let's not kid ourselves, we've all LOVED stuff like this in some other books. I admit that this one was a tiny bit too exaggerated, but still...the same damn thing. Let's not judge harshly.

So why only 2,5 stars?

Because of the way everything was tied up together. The climax point of the story and the BIIIIIIG secret at the end was just...to be frank...DUMB. Yes, dumb. It all annoyed the f*ck outta me.

description

Also this...

“That dream you had at the pool all those years ago I love you. Always have. Deep down you knew.”

Her eyes shone with tears. “Yes.”

description

OVERALL: You guys know I lurrrrrv gross, pervy, filthy stuff. I live for that kinda sh*t. The more ridiculous, the better. What this book couldn't get right, is the fact that the author wasn't TRYING to be goofy. I'm pretty sure she thinks she created a masterpiece. THAT's the problem. You see, authors like Alexa Riley can pull off nonsensical storylines like this because they are just trying to have fun. They know they are not writing literary classics, and they advertise their books exactly as what they are: JUST FOR FUN.

I advice you to do the same thing, Harlow Grace. You're actually REALLY good at this, so don't try to be something you're not.

First off the cover just pulls all of us cover hoes in, then the taboo subject matter within the blurb, which is why I jumped on this, and the hot teasers I've seen around..
So this is where I'm struggling (and please keep in mind that this is only my opinion) I'm about half way through and I'm not finding myself connecting with the characters, there's a lot of swear words graphic details on what the other wants to do to the other but I'm not really grasping that taboo feeling that they shouldn't really be having these thoughts/feelings about the other there's small comments here and there but nothing that so far has made me cringe and given me that sick feeling of it being so taboo which I should be feeling but I'm not..
I really really wanted to love this book but sadly it just wasn't for me..

In January I began reading Monster Stepbrother because I was curious and wanted to try something outside my comfort-zone and I got my wish. This step-sibling romance aka, trainwreck was weirdly compelling, disturbing and yet the hero and heroine's actions, thoughts, behaviour and attraction made no sense. There was no plot and the whole thing was absolutely batshit crazy. Monster Stepbrother is a study in abusive relationships and how characters who lack brain cells, common sense and emotional maturity can harm themselves and each other. This is one of those rare books that live up to its title.

I had originally given 2 stars. With further review, I now feel it should hold a rating of 1.5 stars.

I was given an ARC of Monster Stepbrother in exchange for an honest review. I usually hate when people begin their reviews with that sentence. It’s unoriginal, and quite frankly, boring. In this case, it’s important. I pride myself on being honest, especially when it comes to my reviews. You put your trust in me, and I don’t take that lightly. So honest I shall be…

This is probably the most dysfunctional story I have ever read, and I've read a lot. Oliver’s mother marries Maya’s father when he’s 16 and she’s 12. Big whoop, right? Oliver is an angry teen boy. He’s disrespectful, rude, and crude.

Fast-forward four years…

Oliver is now 20, and Maya is a very sexy 16. Oliver knows he can’t touch her, but he can make her life a living hell. Apparently his entire goal in life is to fuck up Maya’s. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, spending your time trying to ruin someone else’s life is a waste of your own. He purposely uses another girl (sexually) to get to Maya. He wants her to hear him fucking (there’s no better word in this case) other women so she knows what she’s missing. Nice guy… He also has her do things which I find extremely inappropriate for a man to ask of an underage girl.

Fast-forward another two years…

Maya is now legal, and Oliver blackmails her into a sexual relationship. Let’s just say that the two of them being step-siblings is small potatoes next to other things that happen in this story… There are sexual encounters that boarder on rape. There are also some very serious, controversial topics that are breached at this point in the book. Oliver is manipulative and unkind. He wants to seek “revenge” (his word, not mine) for things that happened in his past. Basically, the man needs extensive therapy. He wants to inflict pain on Maya. More than once I felt physically sick while reading a scene intended to be “sexy”. Oh, and calling someone a slut repeatedly is never acceptable, especially when you have no idea what you’re talking about. Just like forcing someone into sex when they’re not 100% on board is inexcusable.

I was going to fuck her, make her scream with pain. The same pain I felt deep in the abysses of my fucking soul.

Was I heartless? Yes. Yes I fucking was.

There is a tremendous difference between pleasurable sex with a little pain and inflicting pain on someone during sex in order to cause physical agony. I really did not enjoying this book. I found myself close to tears various times and am pretty sure that my blood pressure spiked a time or two, as well. I don't do repeated borderline rape, or handle men treating women like shit very well. I just don't. Being a turd for a while in the beginning of a book is totally fine, but telling someone you're going to jam your cock up her ass while she essentially cries? NO. Oliver needed a come to Jesus moment. He never really got it… Being step-siblings with feelings for one another is very minimally taboo, and certainly does not give ANYONE the right to do what Oliver did to Maya.

Let me touch on Maya for a moment. She is EXTREMELY insecure. I am not a fan of weak-minded heroines, and Maya is the worst kind. When she begins her “relationship” with Oliver, she feels like she now belongs to someone; she’s accepted and wanted. Some of the comments she makes throughout the book made me cringe. The girl has severe abandonment issues and needs some sort of intervention.

The story was also very inconsistent. I think Harlow would have benefited greatly from some additional editing. With some input, Oliver could have become a more likable character, one that eventually redeemed himself. There is a difference between alpha and asshole. Oliver is an asshole until the very end. He never works through his issues and the explanation for his actions is flimsy at best.

Now that I’ve said all that…
Harlow Grace shows a lot of promise as an author. As much as I hate to admit it, I couldn’t put the book down. I wanted so desperately for Oliver to do a 180. The fact that she could pull me in even though I had such an issue with the subject matter speaks volumes about her writing.

Monster Stepbrother romanticizes abuse, and I can’t get behind that. For that reason, I can’t in good conscience recommend you read this book.

I finished this book last night and...

description

The blurb of the book is very misleading. Why you might ask? Well...

For start...how can you be left (and I quote)"feeling like a filthy whore" when you're

description

Oliver is made out to seem like a "monster" and the ultimate predator but actually in the beginning of the book he seems very ok to me...like you're average 16 and then 18 year old boy (man). Yeah he's attracted to her and wants her but that's about it. And bonus points for being extra cute :D

description

So the story starts out pretty well and I was really enjoying it but them BAM...the author goes and ruins it for me.

description

Oliver starts to seam more bipolar then monster and then he acts like some and keeps on saying shit like she his and acting all proprietary.

description

Meanwhile Maya goes from wanting to sleep with him to not wanting to sleep with him to wanting to sleep with him to not...you get my drift...it's starts to get really annoying.

description

In the end he keeps leaving without a good reason and the usual high point of the book. We get an explanation later and finally a HEA but by that time I was done for...I gave it 3 stars because I really enjoyed this book in the beginning but the last part and ending was...I don't even have a word to describe it...I just felt...

2.5 - 3ish Stars! and that is mainly because of the cover and the badass title!

I guess its an Ooooookay read.. typical step sibling love story- hot popular step brother meets the heroine.. etc.. etc.. pretty cliché plot that we probably read so many times by now.

The hero is down right mean.. hot/cold shit treatment to the heroine.. To be honest, nothing special to write off. It didn't blow my mind but I was curious and was itching for some taboo read.. so yeah, this book did the job.

I think I had read so many step brother books lately that I totally feel like throwing up now! LOL.

It's not a mind blowing book but I can say this one is decent if you want some tabooish read ... and believe me when I say this one is okay... because after reading gazillion of these step sibling shit- gotta say, there are really bad ones out there! lol.

It took 4 years to read this. I should have read it sooner. It wasn’t bad. Edgy, a bit dark, dub/non-con, complete with evil OW. Better than the rating it has (even with my 3) but the anti-OW vote seems to sway ;) This needed a bit more plot, depth, something. It could have been a 4 with just a bit more crafting.

I have to admit I avoid a lot of the step-bro books. They’re just not that taboo. I need something darker than just that connection to bother. Maybe because there was a step-sib couple in my high school. Nobody gave a shit. But that’s NOLA and we’re pretty dirty when you look high enough ;)

edit: ok 2 days later and the more i think on it, the more i didn't like it. so it's going from 2 stars to 1 star.

there was just so many things that just didn't work for me here.

the warning at the start is along the lines of your usual 'this won't be for everyone, read only if you can handle the subject matter and keep an open mind. if you want a perfect love story, this is not it - you will be disappointed.' well, i can handle pretty much anything in my books, i keep an open mind and imperfect love stories? sign me up! buuut i still disliked most of this book.

it didn't see this as a dark/erotica/taboo book. the hero was a wannabe alpha douche canoe. he comes off as an immature, mean spirited prick with no reasoning behind his actions from the start and even if he was supposed to be that way (hello, it's called monster stepbrother for a reason!) he stays throughout the whole book completely one dimentional with no character change or even the slightest bit of emotional development until obviously the very end and by then, i could care less.. it wasn't the least bit believable.

i couldn't understand why after all the shit he put the heroine through she would ever want him (and he does something there's no coming back from imo) not only all that but oliver spends a huge majority of the story screwing another woman.

maya, his stepsister is a girl with low self esteem and from what i could tell, severe abandonment issues but that doesn't excuse maya's poor choices or why she puts up being treated like she does by oliver. i know she gets off on it but there's times where i thought it just felt wrong, she needed emotional help. she just comes across as oliver does at times, silly and immature.

i guess if all you want is smuty sex sex sex sex then maybe you'll like this book. i wanted more from it though. the potential was there but it totally missed the mark for me.

Confession time…the blurb of this book scared me. I’m talking, run in the other direction scared me. So….why did I read this you ask? Well…uh…because I’m crazy!?

Ok, reality is, I’ve been on a stepbrother kick lately. There have been quite a few coming out in the last few months and while some have been pretty decent, others have been…well…really bad. So I’ve been determined to find a GOOD one. But I don’t gravitate toward dark books. And this one sounded beyond dark. But my curiosity got the better of me and I signed up to review it. Again, cue the crazy scared. However, once I started this, I was unable to put it down. I literally read this straight through, in one sitting.

I can’t say that the relationship was pretty, because it wasn’t. It was dark and twisted and downright awful at time. I can’t even say that I loved the characters (particularly Oliver) but (and maybe this was wishful thinking) I felt like I was able to see past the awful things that were said to see that Oliver was in denial and fighting his feelings HARD. He had very good reason to early on since Maya was younger than him, and under 18.

Later, I felt like he continued to fight just because that’s what he’s always done. But there were a few instances where his walls fell and I could see his genuine feelings for Maya. I loved those moments. One was sweet and the other was a stressful situation where there was no pretending. It was a critical situation and there wasn’t any room for pretense. I was a little disappointed that that Oliver didn’t own up to his feelings at this point and reduced the situation to their typical fighting and insults.

Some moments were definitely over the top and had me rolling my eyes because Oliver and Maya were being idiots (mostly Oliver), but I just chalked it up to the dark style, something akin to Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan. It wasn’t pretty. I tried to look beneath the surface of Oliver’s insults and attitude to see his real feelings. Heck, maybe that was hopeful thinking on my part and there was nothing else there, but that’s what I saw and how it was for me. I saw the draw that the characters had, the fight to deny themselves what they wanted and the desperation both characters felt at a very desperate and emotional moment and later when they even admitted to themselves, how they really felt and things still went wrong, they weren’t honest with each other. They never actually communicated and expressed their feelings.

But even with all that, I still enjoyed the book. I enjoyed the writing and would definitely read more from the author.

Monster Stepbrother was a book that had so much potential to be a dark taboo sexy read but this book sadly fell flat for me. I wanted to like this book a lot but I found myself not connecting to any of the characters. I love a good forbidden romance and as a big avid fan of dark romance, this book was lacking in the dark element that would pull me in. The hero, Oliver King was more like a wishy washy character who couldn't make up his mind..one minute he hates her, one minute he lusts for her, and then the next he loves her but has sex with another woman and leaves her. His constant mood-swings would give me a whiplash because one minute hes turning on the charm and making you like him and then the next, you are wondering why the sudden mood change.

Overall, this book was a quick read that had some great sexy scenes but I think I would have love to see more of a development of the characters and their past. A part of me wanted the author to delve deeper as the reasons why Maya and Oliver were drawn to each other not just that they were physically attracted to one another.

I’m not going to rate this because I struggled with the writing style and skimmed large chucks (especially the past parts). The book follows Maya and Oliver, stepsiblings with loads of emotional baggage. I HATED the book’s format. It started with the shock teaser prologue followed by the backtrack flashback that slowly winds us to the present. I found the timeline SUPER choppy and confusing at times.

For example…
Chapter Eleven- BEFORE { Before Maya’s Eighteenth Birthday
Chapter Twelve - BEFORE: Three Days Ago
Chapter Thirteen — Maya BEFORE: One Day Ago
Chapter Fourteen — Maya Before: The Morning
Chapter Fifteen — Oliver BEFORE: Midday
Chapter Sixteen — Maya BEFORE: Early Evening
Chapter Seventeen — Maya BEFORE: Evening

On and on it went… so choppy and boring because it was moving so slow.

Bottom Line- This wasn’t a great fit for me because I disliked the flow, and I needed more drama… or romance. I picked it up for the OW drama, but other than a few sex scenes with the OW when they hated each other, the only real OW drama is at the end… at it’s over VERY quickly… like she’s bitchy for part of a chapter. It picks up around 70%, so I didn’t skim the end.

Couldn't get past reading phrases like "I would tell her father, my stepfather, about how she sucked this guy off if she didn't cave to my demands. Sorry sis." (Something along those lines. The accurate phrase word for word escapes me.)
Lead male wants to sleep with his stepsister, whom he's known since she was 12. He won't call his mother mom, but the author made damn sure to repeat "SISTER" every chance she got when referencing his love interest.

The first 20% of this book was written in the male's perspective, then out of nowhere the female takes over. Why do that when the reader is already comfortable reading from his POV?

I don't even remember the names of the leads. That's how memorable this book was for me.
FINAL VERDICT: Read at your own risk.

+++ 4 MIND ALTERING STARS!!! +++

His dark obsession runs deep.

He's obsessed with her.
She's addicted to him.
Fine pair they make.
Two damaged souls.
Will they heal or ruin one another?

*Sigh* I had a lot mixed feelings after reading this story but out of everything I felt, clearly it was mind fucked. Harlow Grace pointed out some real issues, like self worth, self doubt, self acceptance, and self respect. I loved being a part of these two character's journeys, witnessing their individual growth as well as their growth together. Sure their relationship was taboo, but it was so much more than that. There was pain, loss, anger, hurt, and eventually love...we just have to experience all the heartache first.

Oliver released his anger and his pain onto the only person who was more vulnerable than him; Maya. Oliver was 16, Maya 12, when they first met and from that moment on he did nothing but humiliate her and be a little prick. Fast forward 2 years, Oliver is now 20 and Maya, 16...and he SEES her for the first time.

Maya is no longer this sweet, gangly girl, but she’s this stunning, ballsy, sassy, young woman and he wants her, but he can’t have her. And from that moment on it becomes this forbidden game of attraction and lust for one another.

Their relationship was at moments deprived. It took me up and down on this twisted emotional roller coaster.

I didn't know if I should hate Oliver or love him. He was definitely one sexy man with a dirty mouth and an arrogant attitude but I saw so much more in him. Both of their inner struggles constantly clashed, coming to the point where they could no longer fight the attraction. Through it all your heart will weep and you’ll be in shock, BUT slowly as the story progresses more details come to light and everything begins to make sense.

Harlow Grace makes sure to keep you at the edge of your seat. She pulls you into this dangerous game of cat and mouse. Grace knew when to add that dark element to it and she knew when to make it sweet. I personally loved it and I recommend it. But why did I give it 4 stars? Well, because I'm greedy and I wanted more in certain scenes.

One thing I do want to say is that you must have an open mind when reading this story. Clear your mind and go into it completely open. Once you finish you can form your own opinion then. But I am telling you now, that if you pass this book up because of the topic you are truly missing out on a beautiful story with a meaningful concept.

This book....surprised the hell out of me. I took the title literally, Oliver, was....of course a fucking dick, I hated him, I hated how he treated her, he was truly a fucked up monster - during HER chapters, anyway. When Oliver's chapters came around though...you see this struggle he has to deal with....and as it progresses, you get a better a little more back story on some of the characters. It was really good, one of the better 'step sibling' books I've read.

I SHOULD knock it down to 3.5....there was a few things I didn't care for....things that could have been more explained...like where this great friend of hers went halfway through the book.....[I didn't care for her, by the way...trouble]. And there was almost zero conversation from the father who is pretty much in the picture, even if he is a little indifferent...there was a few other small things, but I'll leave it be for now :)

WARNING, this book contains self harm and talk of suicide...that's probably a spoiler, but I know that its an important trigger to mention.

A some what twist on taboo love. I had very mixed emotions about this book so my review might contain some spoilers every now and then. But I will block those spoilers for people who do not want to read them.

Alright.... Let's rip the bandaid off of this review. I liked it, I enjoyed it, Loved the alpha-dirty talking-male who is Oliver King. But come on the way he treated Maya in the beginning of the book was very nerve wracking, I love a male who degrades a woman for pleasure but degrading her to make her have self-doubt took a toll on me. I wanted to slap him, but also wanted to fuck him myself which made me feel completely insane. Ugh!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic Even if that meant I was his slut. His whore. It didn't matter what he called me as long as he gave me what I needed. Him

I thought that Maya could have been one of my favorite heroines if it wasn't the fact that when she was alone she had self doubt but when she was with other people she spitfire. I would have liked for her to be more fiery tempered at all times. And I totally hated the fact they were seeing other people as well it just got on my nerves, even when this has never been a problem for me before. And also I hated Oliver's mom maybe 80 percent of the book. Sothat be said I freaked hated the secondary characters with a passion.

While reading this book I could spot similar things that I've read in another story that I've read last year which I rated five stars and I was totally in love with it, and that story is Stepbrother Dearest by Penelope Ward. I'm not saying that the author took anything from that book but I couldn't help but notice while reading.

Below are the similar things I picked up on, remind this is spoilers so you might not want to read this if you haven't the book. With that said:

I just felt that the story wasn't unique.

The blurb of this book pulled me in right away. Step-brother? Taboo? Dark obsession? I could not WAIT to read this.

Things I liked about the book:
~ Alternating POV between Maya and Oliver - this is my favorite way to read a book.
~ Awesome premise!
~ Super hot sex scenes. Oliver and Maya have insane chemistry and the taboo/forbidden aspect always gets the blood pumping.

Things I did not like about this book:
~ The writing did not pull me in. Monster Stepbrother is Harlow Grace's debut novel and I could tell. The plot was a bit choppy. The dialogue wasn't natural and there were words like "daren't" in it. The timeline bounces back and forth between past, present, 2 years later, etc.
~ Oliver was hell bent on shaming Maya any chance he could. I know the title is "Monster Stepbrother" but I needed more appealing qualities to him other than he was good looking.
~ I had a really hard time connecting to the characters.

Bottom line: if you are looking for a smutty read, one click now.

I look forward to this author's future work.

3.5 Just Misunderstood Stars...

~ Not what I was expecting but thoroughly enjoyed nonetheless!!~

This was definitely a super Hot read.. The beginning threw me for a loop since I couldn't figure out why Oliver was so cranky and mean all the time.. Then when we meet Maya later on she was just plain bold and came off as a total tease..

But once the story started cranking and you saw the whys on both Oliver and Maya's ends.. it all flowed wonderfully and I was able to get into the story line and enjoy all of its naughtiness which there was plenty of!! These two had a lot to overcome both with major childhood trauma's and not coping with them very well I might add. But we do get that HEA so it was all good!
***Now I am so ready for Quin's tale!***

More erotica than romance. No plot, just sex. Amateur writing.
DNF at 60%.

SPOILER
- Numerous detailed sex scenes with OW (BJ, intercourse, and anal) and OM (h give BJ to OM) before h/H are intimate, which doesn't happen until 50% into the book. They seem to enjoy having sex with other people in front of each other- some sort of kink.

I didnt find it offensive because I wasnt invested in the characters.

It was pretty hollow. Just bunch of time jumps with no real plot/feeling development.

Превода е потресаващ, но това далеч не е най-ужасното нещо в тази “книга”.

5 Stars...Hot, Sexy, Raw, and Very Emotional Stars

I read this book today and LOVED it:) Oliver, oh my, he was a first class douchebag and yet he was Hotter than Hades! Not kidding, this guy had me squirming in my seat with my girly parts tingling and in the same breath I wanted to kick him in the you know what! This guy had the filthiest mouth and gosh did I LOVE every bit of his dirty talking and his sexcapades:) Maya, I loved her. She could be frustrating in one moment, not a lot though and yet she had this genuine sweet side that she always kept hidden by a mask of not caring even though deep down she had a huge ass heart and boy, did my heart break her for at times! Together these two had my Kindle burning up, they were SUPER HOT:)

The story was tough at times to read and my heart broke for both at times. The last 10-20%, I sat holding my breath and speed reading until the end because I was so afraid of what was going to happen or rather wasn't going to happen. Then I went back to slowly read it again, lol! Thank goodness by that Epilogue my heart had been mended and I had the biggest smile on my face.... GREAT Epilogue.... I am such an Epilogue person and this one made my heart soar with happiness beyond words:)

Congrats Harlow Grace on a hell of a ride, as tough as it was at times, I loved every moment of it too!
