After 4 years a new volume
Typically when an author has time to polish the latest book in a series, you get a return to form, but sadly this story fell a bit flat.
The ending felt rushed, where the big bad of this volume only gets a few chapters before justice is served. The other problem I had was the style of this volume felt very different compared to the earlier books. Everything felt like filler or huge chunks of the story was edited and slimmed down, which really lets the book down.
Personally, I feel the series would do better if things focused on Briggs and Luna, as the first book in the series has to be one of the most touching MC stories I have read over the years.
You need to have read the previous 5 books to follow the story in this book, but frankly in the series you could skip this volume and not really miss that much.

Schon seit geraumer Zeit knistert es gewaltig zwischen ihm und der selbstbewussten Anwältin London Monroe, doch keiner von beiden wagt den entscheidenden Schritt. Bis eine gefährliche Situation alles verändert.
Dieser Band lebt von seiner intensiven Slow-Burn-Dynamik. Everest und London umkreisen sich lange, die Funken sprühen bei jeder Begegnung, während Stolz, Geheimnisse und Unsicherheiten sie voneinander fernhalten. Gerade dieses Spiel sorgt für eine spürbare Spannung, die sich durch den gesamten Roman zieht. London überzeugt dabei als starke, unabhängige Frau mit eigenem Kopf. Als erfolgreiche Familienanwältin steht sie fest im Leben und lässt sich nicht einfach vereinnahmen, auch nicht von einem dominanten Biker. Diese Konstellation sorgt für hitzige Wortgefechte und eine elektrisierende Chemie. Everest hingegen verkörpert den typischen MC Beschützer, ist loyal, beschützend und mit einer schwierigen Vergangenheit im Gepäck. Hinter seiner rauen Schale verbirgt sich jedoch ein Mann mit klaren Gefühlen und dem Wunsch nach mehr als nur Clubleben. Spannung erhält die Handlung zudem durch Londons Geheimnis und eine bedrohliche Zuspitzung, die schließlich in einer Entführung mündet. Action, Gefahr und das starke Band der Bruderschaft verleihen dem Roman dabei Tempo und Intensität. Gleichzeitig kommen Emotionen nicht zu kurz, denn besonders die familiären Momente und verletzlichen Seiten der Figuren geben der Geschichte Herz. „Kings of Retribution MC – Everest“ von Sandy Alvarez und Crystal Daniels ist der sechste Band des Spin offs der Kings of Retribution, der im Louisiana Chapter spielt.
Kallum Mercer oder Everest ist ein Mitglied des Kings of Retribution MC in New Orleans. Hier hat er ein Zuhause gefunden und wendet Gewalt nur noch zum Schutz seiner Brüder und Unschuldiger an. Während seine Brüder fast alle Familien gegründet haben und glücklich sind, träumt Everest heimlich von der einzigen Frau, die ihn aus der Ruhe bringen kann. London Monroe ist eine knallharte Familienanwältin, die für ihre Mandanten alles gibt. Doch sie verbirgt vor ihren Freunden ein Geheimnis, welches vor allem Everest zur Weißglut treibt. Als ein gefährlicher Vorfall alles ans Licht bringt, beansprucht Everest London für sich, um sie endlich zu beschützen und für sich allein zu haben. Leider lässt sich London nicht so leicht überzeugen und auch die Gefahr ist längst nicht gebannt.
So langsam werden im Louisiana Chapter die Singles knapp, aber der schweigsame Everest kann sein Interesse an London einfach nicht mehr verbergen. Er macht seinem Namen alle Ehre und wir dürfen gespannt sein, ob London ihre Bergsteigerausrüstung im Gepäck hat.
Das Autorinnenduo mixt die bewährten Zutaten wie jede Menge Spice, viel Gefühl, berührende Hintergrundgeschichten und eine riesige Portion Spannung. Dadurch bleibt es abwechslungsreich und wird definitiv nicht langweilig.
London ist eine starke und vor allem sture Frau, die ihren eigenen Kopf hat und ihre Unabhängigkeit liebt. Wie das mit dem Leben einer Old Lady zusammenpassen soll, werden wir noch sehen. Aber vielleicht hat der wortkarge Everest in ihr auch seine Endgegnerin gefunden.
Wie all seine Brüder hat Everest eine schwierige Vergangenheit, die seine Hoffnungen auf eine eigene Familie verdunkelt. Gut, dass London sehr direkt und selbstbewusst ist, so dass die Funken trotz Everests anfänglicher Zurückhaltung nur so sprühen.
Mein Fazit:
Mitreißend und unterhaltsam. Ich gebe sehr gern eine Leseempfehlung!

Liebe war nie Teil des Plans
Teil 19 der Reihe um die King's – hier mit dem Louisiana Chapter mit der Story um
Kallum „Everest“ Mercer. Mag diese Reihe sehr und habe alle Bände bereits gelesen.
Vorweg: Auch gut als Einzelband lesbar. Aber macht das Sinn? Muss jeder für sich entscheiden.
Kallum trägt den Straßennamen „Everest“ zurecht. Ein Schrank von einem Mann, der Respekt ist ihm sicher. Dass so ein Kerl einen weichen Kern hat, das dürfen wir hier erleben. Schon seit längerem geht ihm London Monroe nicht aus dem Kopf. Die taffe Anwältin hat es ihm angetan. Es knistert gewaltig zwischen den beiden und sie schleichen lange umeinander herum. Die Funken, die Dialoge der beiden, das hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Es ist ein ganz besonderer Tanz, welcher sehr heikel ist. Stehen doch Geheimnisse im Raum, die keiner preis geben möchte. Daraus resultiert eine Unsicherheit...
Die Handlung ist spannend aufgebaut und kann sich bis zum Ende halten.
Durch Vertrauen, Loyalität, Freundschaft nach dem Motto „Liebe war nie Teil des Planes“
bekommt die Story Tiefe.
Die Autorinnen begeistern auch hier wieder mit ihrem Schreibstil mit viel Kreativität und Kraft. Bin wieder abgetaucht und hab mich treiben lassen können.
Freue mich auf mehr….

I have wanted to know more about Everest since we (and by that I mean me 😏) met him in Riggs. I have loved seeing his character develop through the stories about his brothers and was so excited to read this.
I had wanted to go back and start re-reading the books because it had been awhile since we got to visit the Louisiana Kings. I will use any excuse because I love these characters.
I didn't get as far as I had hoped and it admittedly took me a little bit to place/ remember, some of the side characters. But I still loved seeing everyone and getting another glimpse at where these characters are.
Now Everest and London. These two very much had the, "I'm attracted but they don't want me" thing. I loved the fierce protection Everest displayed, not only with London but with other aspects too.
London is strong and determined but won't let her friends know exactly how she is. How she's drowning at times.
This was a slow burn, which is not a new writing style for this author duo. However I felt like it was a little longer for the characters to finally come together. But it was worth the wait.
I love the Kings and I will always be happy to catch up. They're "real" characters/people because they're written and developed so well. I definitely recommend.

Sandy Alvarez and Crystal Daniels came out of the gate swinging on this one. Everest had my attention from the first page. It was exciting going back to the Kings of Retribution world, more specifically, the New Orleans chapter. I missed the men of Louisiana and was so glad to see some of my favorite characters back in action.
London is fiercely loyal and protective of the only family she has left, and when her world starts to crumble slowly, she does the last thing she ever thought she’d have to do to make sure her family is taken care of.
After Everett’s life unraveled, he made his way to Louisiana looking for a purpose in life. He found that as a patched member of the Kings of Retribution MC, life was worth living. Everest and London have been dancing around each other for a while now, and when London’s life is in danger, Everest has had enough and takes his relationship with London to the next level despite her protests.
As they both deal with the threats facing the club and London, they determine whether their relationship is worth pursuing. This is an excellent 5-star read, and I highly recommend reading all of the Kings of Retribution MC books.

I didn't know how much I missed the Kings of Retribution until I sat down with this story. I knew it was going to be enjoyable because these authors prove it every time.
I missed the found family and helping the community that you get with the Kings, the other couples there and supportive, Pop's wisdom and sayings.
Everest and London are stubborn meets stubborn.
I feel for London and the responsibilities she has and when it all gets too much for her, that's when Everest steps in with no hesitation.
I swear only Everest could make calling her - a pain in his backside (not the actual words he uses) - sound like an endearment!!
All-in-one conversation, Everest putting his foot down, making her aware he sees her for her, is willing to learn all of her AND gives her what she is asking for - goes on the list of what you want in a man.
I have a horrible memory and was concerned that I wouldn't remember anything from past books, but the authors do a perfect job of giving you enough detail to refresh your memory and I thank them for that. Because of that, I do think you could read this as a standalone, even though I think every book should be read.

They've done it again these two dynamic authors and sisters know how to draw you into the lives of their characters. This incredible storyline is the latest release in the Kings of Retribution MC Louisiana Chapter and follows Everest and London.
Everest and London have a back and forth teasing/flirty banter that has an undeniable sexual undertone. While there's an undeniable attraction pulling them closer neither one acts. They act as if it's one sided until everything changes and his protective alpha side takes charge.
I loved that she's this well-known, intelligent, powerful, successful, fierce, take no prisoners lawyer. She'll do whatever it takes to care for her mother and protect her friends.
Everest has grown from prospect to a loyal patched member who is willing to do whatever it takes to protect those he considers family. While he's been watching London from afar he hasn't acted on his feelings until her life is threatened and his alpha protective side comes roaring to the surface.

Oh my word, this book is amazing! The Kings of Retribution, Montana series was my introduction to Ms. Daniels and Ms. Alvarez’s writing and they quickly became definite “go to” authors. The Montana guys became favorites and I didn’t know if these ladies would be able to top them. Luckily for me and their other readers, they created a whole new world with exciting characters, full of different and intriguing personalities. We didn’t have to choose Montana or New Orleans they just worked seamlessly together. That being said, Everest is a bigger than life, brooding man who falls for the toughest, sassiest little woman and they push each other’s buttons and it’s hilarious. I just love this story and this couple. I also love that we get to catch up with other members of the New Orleans clan and added some new and interesting side characters. Loved the story and I’m going to try and wait patiently for what comes next…I make no promises though. Thank you, ladies, for the fabulous read, you never fail to entertain!

After a hiatus, the Kings of Retribution MC Series Louisianna Chapter is back with book six, Everest. It could be read as standalone but for maximum enjoyment it's best to start at the beginning of the series. This journey focuses on Everest and London.
Everest I think may be the most serious of all the brothers. He was often broody and when it came to London his alpha side really flared. He never backed down from a challenge, in fact I think he thrived on them.
London is hard working, caring, loving, and an all around bada$$ at her job. She extremely independent and proud which also causes her to stubborn and sassy. She's a good person to have on your side with her loyalty and with how hard she loves her people.
This was a quick and easy read. It was entertaining, unpredictable, and had a good mix of drama, angst, action, spice, and emotional moments. There was also a set of good supporting characters. One character in particular may lead to another book in the series.

Everest and London have been making eyes at each other since they met. They flirt a bit, London is sassy and smart and doesn't hesitate to show it. Everest keeps his interest locked down, or so he thinks, not realizing that the whole club is practically ready to knock some sense into them both. When London's secret night activities result in a close call, the club is called to come handle things. These two are so independent, hesitant to take that step towards each other. Once Everest is done with that, he goes full throttle and London, well, lets just say she isn't quiet about her opinion. So beautifully written, especially the parts with London's mom, brought a tear to my eye. This author duo always brings the fun, the suspense, the heat and heart!

Where to start? London and Everest are absolutely phenomenal as separate characters- together, they might be one of my favorites.
Their hearts are so incredibly precious, kind and loving. But when they need to be fierce, they can take down the world.
So much mystery, intrigue, a big unexpected twist, spicy good stuff! And we get to visit with our very dear friends from previous books. The peek into their lives is just everything.
There is nothing about this book that I didn’t love. My heart stopped at one point but I learned to breathe a little while later.
I need the next book to be the broody silent type hero and I think I might know his love might be.

Everest is book 6 in the series and it brings you back into the Kings of Retribution Louisiana family. Daniels & Alvarez have delivered another story you can't put down.
Everest and London have been dancing around each other and when Everest steps in to protect London, the spark finally ignites and he isn't letting her go at any cost.
I personally really enjoyed this story, we got to be back in the Kings world and it was great to hear from other characters and get an update on their lives.

Great story!!
This is the sixth book in this phenomenal series and this is Everett and London's story.
This is a well written action packed story, with family, friendships, emotions, loyalty, challenges, heartbreak, humour, witty banter, danger, suspense, intrigue, twists and turns, undeniable chemistry, and unconditional love, which all leads to an entertaining, and unpredictable addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Emotional damage !!
There isn’t a single one of the kings mc books I haven’t devoured and this was no different . Holy Jesus the chaos that unfolded wasn’t what I thought was coming . I laughed, I sobbed and gasped , the emotional damage !! Thank God for a happy ending ! Londons a sassy spit fire and Everest is a broody macho persona and they complimented each other so well. I absolutely loved the kings mc and I am so sad the series is over . 10/10 recommend to all

I'm not sure why, but it took me a long time to really get into this book. I liked London from the start, was indifferent on Everest. He did win me over eventually. I loved his first visit with London's mom, loved the frank talk the two of them had.
The drama they had within the club got old fast, mostly because I hated how the club tried to protect the community and there was this threat. Nice to see it taken care of and in a way it won't come back.

I was so excited to read this next book in this series. It didn't disappoint for a second. The heat between London and Everest could melt the sun. She is seriously the most stubborn individual...well, next to Everest. Old enemies come back to haunt the club in new ways and it is edge of your seat crazy. I loved every second and I can't wait for the next one. This author never disappoints. Read the series, you won't be sorry.

This book has me hooked from the first page . The push and pull between Everest and London was phenomenal. I loved the chemistry they had from the beginning.

Everest has been crazy about London since he met her. They both want each other, but don't know how to voice it. London is sassy, fiercely independent, and has no issue taking on the dangers of the world.
Their relationship takes a while to get to as they fight their pull toward each other, but when they do finally take the plunge, it's hot, intense, and worth fighting for.

What a joy it is to be back in Louisiana with the Kings of Retribution. Catching up with the gang is always entertaining! Everest and London have denied their feelings for way to long. When things go awry, and London is in danger, Everest and the Kings come to the rescue. Loved the storyline, the witty humor, the comradery, and the brotherhood. Looking forward to more from the Kings!

This is an absolute rollercoaster! But through it all the Kings stand tall and strong, with sass thrown in from the lovely ladies.
London is a force of nature! She is a badass, strong, independent woman but when the chips are down, the Kings and their woman step up to help.
A real emotional read. It was fantastic to be back with this MC! What a read!!

A terrific story
It's been awhile since I read the previous books, but this is still a terrific series. What seemed to be separate threats, against London as well as the club, turns out to be a mysterious blast from the Kings past. It's a story that will keep you guessing until the end.
I would recommend this book, series, and authors.

She's A Pain He Wants
Everest & London's story was fabulous! Finished it in one day because it was so darn good. London is independent and sassy. She definitely keeps him on his toes and he is right that she is a pain in his rear. The plot of their tale is good and it keeps you flipping pages. I am looking forward to Catcher's story next.
