This book absolutely consumed me. The tension—the lingering looks, the restraint, the constant almost—had me hooked from the very beginning. Every interaction felt charged, like something was always on the verge of snapping.
While this isn’t a traditional slow burn (it is a novelette), the buildup still felt intentional and emotionally driven. The chemistry is intense in the most beautiful way, and the sensuality is woven naturally into the story, guided by emotion just as much as desire. The pacing made the payoff feel satisfying without overstaying its welcome.
That said, the jump from the MMC being a virgin to suddenly engaging in very explicit talk was a bit jarring. It caught me off guard and felt like a sharp tonal shift compared to how carefully everything else was built. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it was noticeable.
As someone new to this genre, I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction overall. The dynamics were easy to sink into, the emotional beats landed well, and the characters carried the story with vulnerability and heat in equal measure.
An easy 4.75 stars. This didn’t just make me enjoy the story—it made me excited to explore more of the genre and more from this author.

A sweet little novella. Whilst I enjoyed it there were a few things that let it down.
Considering Rowan being a virgin was the whole plot, I didn’t understand how they’d been together for a year but hadn’t had that conversation yet. Before reading this book I figured they had only been together for a few months and maybe this was Ariel’s first heat 🤷♀️
For him to be a virgin and then all of a sudden his dirty talk is amazing and he’s absolutely feral for her all the time. It just felt random, I think Rowan needed to be a little bit unsure and sweet at first not this dirty talking sex god all of a sudden 😂
I also didn’t really like Ariel, she felt whiny to me and I just didn’t connect with her.
Overall, it’s definitely an easy read if you’re looking for a palette cleanser.

this story isn't quite like anything i've read before,i mean i've read OV but it wasn't like THIS. idk what THIS is but i love it here,i absolutely love it here and i never ever want to leave this beautiful side of storytelling.
i don't know how to explain the story without spoiling it and of course i will never ever spoil but to have re-read this 4x tells you something,to work so closely with ava on this and the fact she chose me to help her bring this story to life will quite literally be a PINCH ME moment. a PINCH ME. but besides that,this has allowed me to diversify my tastes and to explore other elements of reading and dare i say it i've been missing out by being so closed off but of course when the opportunity presented it's self i couldn't pass up & im so glad i did,now to have gained ava's trust and a beautiful friendship,i can not wait to be a part of ava's world for years to come. truly. to work with her,to share her work,to help bring stories to life by her side, it is quite literally one of the biggest honours of my life. truly and honestly.

it's hard to explain the love i have grown for these characters, rowan and ariel are some of the most beautiful characters i have ever read. ariel is one of the most beautifully written fmc's that at the same time feels seen. it allows us to feel seen,they say we escape reality when we read whereas this gives you a little reality check with how beautiful women are,their bodies are & how there is a person for you. that will worship every little curve of your body,will love your eyes,your scent,each little imperfection. and for that,for ava to write rowan in the way she has,his character is something i fear is etched not only in my brain but on my heart,he is beautifully written and the epitome of a man most dream of,he is shy,he is powerful but get reserved,he is a testament that all mmc's don't have to be morally gray,they don't need to be villains,and honestly this story has opened my eyes,in the best way!! rowan's character development is so beautiful to read,to go from insecure and shy to be a strong & commanding alpha. it's incredible! they are written to perfection,the push and pull is something i've never encountered in a story ever.

the plot.. oh the plot. a story built on love. endless amounts of love for one and other. a plot from the beginning is so unbelievablely thought out,it's written with such detail that even a beginner with OV can understand and be a part of this beautiful world. that is how perfect it is. although a novelette (what ava does best wdym) it does not feel like that,it is so gripping and let me tell you it can make you sit and divulge the whole thing in one sitting,i have quite literally spent my whole morning being fully engaged and immersed in the story! you have a real feel from the very beginning about ariel and rowan and their dynamic,you get a look into it through a small lense in the beginning then as you go on the plot line opens up and you learn more,you get to experience journalism in the world of omega's,a look into the life of somebody who just wants to be a chef but his father won't let him.. but more than that from the beginning you get to look at a relationship between two people,an alpha and an omega. but more than that,a relationship when reading it feels like a fairytale,it feels like a story you dream of when you're younger,but with an adult twist. it honestly for me allows the feeling of reading fairytales when you were younger but feels like you can escape that and still have that dreamy feeling you had once. a story filled with love. lust & lots of knotting😏

the spice is SPICY! i'm so used to high angst but this.. this feels better than any angst story ever and i've read nearly 100 books. i can't quite explain how much of a joy it was to read a story that was lustful but yet loving. the spice is interlaced throughout but towards the end.. it was HOT AF. hotter than any romance i've ever read. i can't even explain how but OV spice just hits different.. from perfuming,to slick,too knotting.. ava has it covered and covered beautifully. it is a story with spice but boy does the spice make the story.. OH MY LAWD. i dare argue my favourite scene was probably hearing that they did IT in the airport bathroom🥵 but also think ON HIS KNEES. and that's all i will say because you NEED to read it for yourself even if it's just spice alone. it makes you SWEAT! & she is SPICY!
overall?? ♾️⭐️ DUH.
i can't begin too explain how else i could rate this other than infinity. it's perfect. in every way. i've never truly been so immersed and so incredibly eager to read a story more than this and it's a ROMANCE no less. also the fact this is the FIRST in a series,bro i can't even explain that it's so exciting to have MORE stories. but these two,they'll be etched into my heart forever,and if i could bring any characters to life too be a fly on the wall in their relationship it would be these two. truly. urgh... they're so perfect idk what else to tell you,this story i fear will god won in history as the best i've ever read,even better than all of the ones i've read! i fear ava will prove me wrong and somehow someday top this but for now.. i will be aspiring to make my relationship as beautiful as rowan & ariel🥹🩷
my overall thoughts in summary :
i have finished this book in its entirety and proofed it, but boy even though i was actively making notes,adding to pinterest boards ava somehow kept me as captivated as the first time i read it,i got the pleasure of reading from the beginning to this and it being one of my very new looks into omegaverse it's safe to say im so insanely happy i got to read this. truly a beautiful read,with the most beautiful characters in the whole world. i don't think i've ever felt as strongly about a romance, i don't usually do some fluffy stories but ava is and will always be an exception, i am honoured and equally so full that i got to experience such a beautiful story, it is written beautifully in just the style i love, in a speed that is my favourite,this isn't a fast paced novelette per say which i love,we have enough world building to truly set the scene,with this being book one it really gives you a taste of what to expect with the omega holidays series, no less an introduction to rowan and ariel,and although this may be the end of their story,hopefully not forever because i'd happily read a full length novel of these two! but i'll always love a novellete especially by ava. truly one of my favourite romance stories and a very special story to me,being on ava's team is a joy & to have created such a beautiful friendship with her is an honour, a close friend and a beautiful writer,what more could i love?🥹💌✨💗

This was a super fast paced and steamy omegaverse novella. The plot had promise, our two main characters had good chem, and the relationship they had felt very sweet.
What I did enjoy:
1 I love a plus size baddie and the fact that Ariel and Rowan were in a sweet and stable relationship from the get go felt nice.
2. I also enjoyed seeing a bit into Ariel’s job and her strong personality in the beginning.
3. The spice! It does take up the majority of this novella, which I have no qualms with, and it is written smoothly and I enjoyed it.
The things that’s felt off for me were:
1. the conflict during/after her heat. Without spoiling anything, it felt ill placed imo. It happens so fast and there’s very little context to that part of the plot especially with how important to the beginning it felt.
2. the odd communication between the MC’s… it comes out that the MMC is a virgin, but for them to be in a sweet and loving relationship for over a year and this not being made a point of communication before now? Where it was basically forced out in the open? It felt pretty weird for me.
2b. It also felt really odd that after this “secret” comes out, Rowan is suddenly the hottest dirty talker and so experienced during Ariel’s heat. And for him to come in saying he did research just before her heat started?? I’m sorry, but I couldn’t vibe with it.
3. It felt weird for Ariel to have so much consciousness during her heat and for it to interrupted was not ideal, but that’s more preferential…
Overall, this novella had so much promise, but unfortunately fell short in many aspects for me specifically. I would still be interested in seeing what a full novel by this author reads like because of the aspects I did enjoy, but this one was not for me.

After some time away and further thought on the contents of the book, I did unfortunately decide to decrease my rating from 3 stars to 2 stars. I did update my written review to further explain my thoughts and feelings.

This was such a cute read to do as a pre-Valentine's Day treat to myself! Plus, it still fits for the winter season, which is definitely what I was looking for, but I loved this novella! Ariel and Rowan had a sweet dynamic for their love story, and the attention, the care, the love that Rowan had for Ariel, vice versa. The adoration that they had for one another had me giggling and wondering how their love story started. Rowan was such a sweetheart and a gentleman as he was taking care of Ariel during her heat, even if he was dealing with insecurities she wasn't aware of. In return, Ariel was able to offer him that comfort after she finds out, and it's these kinds of relationships that leave a special place in my heart and full of love.
The plot outside of the romance was intriguing and caught my attention from the moment that it was mentioned. I am glad that it followed throughout the story with their romance and had a resolution with almost an ominous "is it, is it not" feeling. If this ever becomes a full length book, I would love to explore that plot some more, because the readers didn't get the "why" reasoning, and I really think that it could be an interesting thriller plot to explore!
I enjoyed every second of this novella! <3

I hate the thought of DNF such a short novella especially with roughly thirty something pages left but unfortunately this just was not it for me. I feel like I was dropped in the middle of a story with zero background on these characters but I’m supposed to believe they’ve been in love for over a year and she doesn’t even know our MMC is a virgin. I didn’t connect whatsoever with either of these characters and I found it so crazy that this man was a virgin and yet he had the filthiest fucking mouth and knew wtf he was doing. I hate the thought of DNF such a short novella especially with roughly thirty something pages left but unfortunately this just was not it for me. I feel like I was dropped in the middle of a story with zero background on these characters but I’m supposed to believe they’ve been in love for over a year and she doesn’t even know our MMC is a virgin. I didn’t connect whatsoever with either of these characters and I found it so crazy that this man was a virgin and yet he had the filthiest fucking mouth and knew wtf he was doing. I almost wish this was longer just so we got more about Rowan. He was so sweet and with him being a virgin, I would have loved to see more of how they interacted with each other and how he kind of diverted Ariel's advances.
And I'm ngl I was invested in the Omega murder plot. But with this being so short and obviously not the main focus of the story, we don't see how high the stakes are of Ariel

Rowan and Ariel are hands-down one of the cutest couples ever, and this book was short but sweet, and beautifully written! Ariel is an adorable, chubby, and confident FMC and Rowan, the MMC is nerdy, quirkly, inexperienced and adorably swoonworthy! He is the absolute sweetest in Ariel's biggest time of need, even though he's inexperienced and worried about letting her down.
I can not wait to see what's next in Ava's Omegaverse, she absolutely nailed this one 😍

I cannot believe that this is this authors first omegaverse!
This was a novella, so the story is fast paced, which I didn’t mind.
Despite it being a short read, it still packed a punch!
I adored these characters!
The FMC is one sweet and sassy omega with curves to die for!
The MMC is one tall glass of Alpha, and knows how to spoil his omega rotten.
Despite their insecurities these two are the perfect match.
Their chemistry is undeniable, and when they finally let go together it’s HAWT!
There’s a bit of suspense to go with the spice!
I cannot wait to see what this author does with the rest of this little series!

What cute novella! It’s a perfect little toe dip into the omegaverse world, and Ava did an amazing job with her glossary at the beginning! She explained all the terms you would need to know in order to understand an omegaverse perfectly! I hope we get more Roman and Ariel in the future, my little cuties! Roman is the definition of a golden retriever! Ahhh so cute! I can’t wait for more people to read this <3

Overall a good quick read, the premise is mainly around Rowen being a virgin and not thinking he's good enough for his omega since they're usually in packs. I feel like they should have talked about this within the year they've been together. However once they're finally together during heat he goes from 0 to 100 real quick.

Touches a bit on how omegas are being treated and how there's people sadly targeting them, and Ariel's fear as an omega. Don't want to spoil it so won't say much.
Other than that though it's about Rowan and Ariel's fears about their relationship, their first heat together and just reassuring each other and being freaking cute!

Fast past Omega universe. This being my first! I highly enjoyed the read! Ava Jay did such a wonderful explaining the omega universe which helped me understand how everything is and worked!

A small smutty story that I actually enjoyed. I’m not very big with Omegaverse but I do read from time to time and this was a quick read. Ariel is a really lovable character and Rowan is a cutie they are adorable together.

This was such a cute and fun read! It's has all the spice, but manages to give a good plot line in so few pages. Rowan and Ariel are absolutely adorable together. This is Ava's first ever Omegaverse book, and I'm excited for the next one!
