Ivy Clark #11

Murder With a Crunch of Cookies

Rate this book
Ivy Clark has faced killers, kidnappers, and cranky customers, but nothing prepared her for substituting high school math.

When Ivy is sent to Wichita to quietly investigate a missing teacher, she goes undercover as the world’s most confused math sub. Armed with cookies and a prayer no one asks her to explain fractions, she tries to blend in. With Boyd posing as a janitor and Livy and Anton undercover as students, what could possibly go wrong?

Between evasive coworkers, jumpy students, and a trail of suspicious cookie crumbs, Ivy realizes this school is hiding more than bad test scores. Someone here knows what happened, and they will do anything to keep Ivy from solving it.

I called it! I swear every book I read I make a guess right in the beginning as to who the culprit is and about 75% of the time I’m right. In this book - however - I was convinced it was a certain person even though there wasn’t much evidence pointing toward them, but then I wondered if maybe it was someone else entirely! In fact, there were several people I e wondered about. Heck, could it be Sydney?!

I never really liked high school when I was in high school so this didn’t start as anything I thought I’d enjoy reading. I kind of glossed over several chapters until I decided it was time to pay better attention and get over my hate of HS. After all, this is about finding a missing teacher!

I like the little clues along the way like the flashlight in the drawer and the class ring. And who the heck slammed the crypt door?? And of course it’s always such a blast hanging out with Boyd because how could you not love being around him. ♥️♥️ Then there’s Jose who I always enjoy hanging out with. Ivy had her entire crime fighting crew standing by her side to help bring down the killer right from the get go.

Hey, I was just thinking, if you also like Boyd a lot you should read the Raised & Glazed series by Emma Ainsley because there’s a character in that story that reminds me a lot of Boyd. They could be the same person! Ainsley’s character is named Orson.

Always a blast with Ivy and Crew!

Stay tuned for the next book in this series that is to be released May 11, 2026 which is less than a month away! “Murder With a Mug of Hot Cocoa”.

See you in my next book thoughts review.

Wonderful!

Another great read! Same great characters, but a different setting. I love the diner, but having a different place and some new people was enjoyable. I stayed up way too late reading. Now I have to wait for the next book to come out! But while I'm waiting, I'm going to start the series about Brian and the library in Nebraska! But I think I'll try and sleep a bit first!

This one was a fun change of pace with Ivy's attempt at under cover with her posse in tow! I was glad Jose got a little involved, I've been missing him being more hands on in recent books since he became manager.
