Alpha Billionaire, Part 2 is the second book in the USA Today Bestselling series Alpha Billionaire. This is a three part serial.
Just who are Grant Slate and Tyler?
Evie Johnson decided to be the bad girl when she went home with Grant Slate. After a sexy night, she's not prepared for the warnings Tyler gives her about his billionaire boss.
Evie isn't sure who to trust and she's not sure why she's so attracted to Tyler, with his alert and guarded blue eyes. When she finds a stack of letters that tell of a mystery Evie finds herself wanting to find out exactly what's going on. Only as she digs deeper, she finds herself more caught up with both Grant and Tyler.
What game are the two wolves playing with her and will Evie cross a line that will forever change her life?
Readers should be 18 and over due to mature language and situations.
15/5 - I read this two weeks ago, but just never got around to writing the review. Like the first book in the series, I got this for free and I'm really pleased by that fact because if I'd paid hard earned cash (even if it had only been $0.99) the rating would have been one star instead of two and this review would have been much more rant-filled. I don't think this book deserves its own review, so the next paragraph is copy pasted from my review and then the rest are notes I took as I read.
This is another of those 'serialised' romance books that have become trendy in the last few years. I'm not a fan of this kind of 'book', I don't care how good the story or writing is, I can never get over the feeling of being manipulated by the author, of being emotionally blackmailed into paying over $3AUS for 70 pages of writing. Nope, not falling for it. I got this and the 'sequel' for free and that's all I'll be 'buying', I'll work out the what happens in the third instalment through spoilery reviews.
Regarding the story, I made some notes while I was reading, see below for further information.
22% 'I know I was dumb to come back with Grant after knowing him for barely ten minutes - and even dumber for having sex with him. I know many people would find it hard to believe that I’m not a slut or someone that has casual sex a lot.'
For God's sake I don't care about the casual sex just that while you're having this little 1.5 page long conversation with yourself you could be escaping, as Tyler just suggested!
23% 'A part of me wanted to find out what had happened to Eugenie. I was an investigative reporter. At least that’s what I wanted to be. How could I leave now that there was a real mystery right in front of me?
Actually you're an idiot! Soon to be a dead idiot if you don't get the hell out of there!!
25% '“Oh God, Evie, get the fuck out of there.” “I think I should stay and try and figure out what’s going on.” “Are you out of your bloody mind?”'
You are the epitome of the dumb reporter who gets killed trying to get her first big scoop (please don't be blonde, that would just be too clichéd!).
26% '“Evie.” She groaned. “Just come home please.” “Grant doesn’t want me to leave.” I whispered.'
Who gives a shit what Grant wants?! He's definitely a psycho and might be homicidal to boot. Just escape before you die!
30% 'I stood there feeling scared and annoyed at myself. Why hadn’t I tried to find an escape when they had both left the room.'
Because you are the stupidest heroine I have ever had the misfortune of reading!! Thank God this is so short and it's free. I feel like I need to go read an encyclopaedia to replenish all the brain cells I lost while reading this.
42% '“I feel like I’m in the twilight zone.'
You and me both!
'I didn’t want Tyler to come back and handcuff me. Then I’d really start to panic. How had I not seen that Grant was a psycho?'
Because you are a first class idiot!!
43% 'I was so confused by everything. I just didn’t understand what was going on. Why oh why had I let Hailey talk me into this?'
She didn't talk you into going home with a strange man! In fact she insisted you leave but you refused because he was mysterious and compelling, this is all your own fault.
49% '“What if I said you could leave.” He tilted his head to the side. “I can go?” “Do you want to go?” His brows furrowed and he gazed at me with such a sad look that I felt my heart breaking for the unspoken hurt in his eyes.'
Argh!! Why the hell do you care if he has a hurt look?! You're going to look a lot more hurt when he chains you in the 'room' and starts beating you.
63% 'However, I just couldn’t seem to leave. Not yet. I wanted to see how everything was going to play out. I wanted to find out exactly what was going on here.'
I suppose that's why I keep reading despite how crazy this book is and how stupid Evie is.
65% 'So I’d always been the good girl. I’d stuck to only sleeping with the guys I’d dated, even when they hadn’t been great in bed. Even when I’d been propositioned by men so hot, they’d melted my panties off with a look. I hadn’t slept with them because I wasn’t a one night girl.'
*sigh* You told us all this already! Stop trying to apologise for your past behaviour, no one's having a go at you (whether it's for having too much or not enough sexual experience I don't want to read shaming of any kind by anyone).
84% '“Where are you going?” I whimpered, not wanting to be left alone. “You trust me right?” He pulled me up towards him and kissed my lips. “I think so.” I kissed him back softly.'
Why on Earth would you do that?! You don't know him any better than you do Grant, and he isn't letting you leave either.
That was my last note (not as many as in the first part, probably because I felt like there was no point). I won't be reading the third part, especially as it would cost me around $4 and the three parts together aren't worth that much, let alone one measly part that's got less than 100 pages. I've heard the conclusion of the story from a very well-written , spoiler-filled review on Amazon and I'm glad I didn't bother because it just gets even crazier (I won't bother rehashing it here, just find the most popular review on Amazon and that'll tell you what happens).
So, this book picks up right after the first. Evie, the previous night went home with billionaire Grant, and slept with him. This story picks up with Evie's interaction with Tyler full of cryptic remarks and warnings. There is really no plotline. Just Evie wanting to find out what happened to Eugenie and poor decisions, including sleeping with Tyler. There is more to it, but it happens at the end, and it was a twist.
I have a lot of issues with this story. Why does Tyler have to be so cryptic? He keeps warning her about how stupid it was to sleep with Grant, but won't tell her why. I'm sorry but this situation is all f'ed up, and she thinks everything is fine, and that Taylor wouldn't hit her. She doesn't know him or Grant or what they are capable of. I mean, they are holding her captive, not that sher even TRIED to escape, which makes her one dumb h... Honestly she shouldn't trust her instincts or judgement because look where it got her. I would really like to punch her in the throat. And having sex with Tyler in Grants house? smh At least it wasn't unprotected sex like with Grant. And Tyler is offering her freedom, but she wants to know what happened to Eugenie. I hate to say to say it, but Evie deserves what happens to her. She is TSTL.
I dislike every character in this book. Evie was annoying, sticking her nose where it doesn't belong. Tyler was being too cryptic, and at the end I hated him more. I hate whatever game they are playing. And what a twist. This book is crazy!! This book pissed me off, but I will read the next one to see what happens.
I AM INLOVE WITH THIS SERIES!!! HELEN COOPER HAS OUT DONE HERSELF!!!! BETWEEN AND THE TWIST AND TURNS....THROW IN THE HOT SEX....YOU HAVE A WIN WIN....WILL KEEP YOU GUESSING AND TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHO IS THE BIG BAD WOLF AND WHO IS THE LAMB!!!
Normally I love Helen/JS Cooper 's books but I just can't get into this. I can't stand Evie. She's stupid and annoying. I'm only reading the last book to see what the hell is going on with all the nut jobs. Still love Helen Cooper though!
This is the best book yet. I can't wait for the next book. Did that really just happen. Grant/Tyler. Wow what a twist to the story. Hurry hurry hurry with #3. Please.!!
Book two is confusing. She wants to leave. She wants to stay. And she has no self control. I get tired of all the back and forth. I gave it a star due only for the cliffhanger. Yeah, it's that big, but with a price of $2.99 for a novella, I'm not that curious!
I was provided a copy of the book by the Author for an honest review.
O.M.G. I just finish reading this book, and I have to say that I love it, Love the characters, and love how the book turn out to be, this is the second part in the three part book of the Alpha Billionaire, and let me just say that this is one hot short story, I am gone keep this short.
The story picks right up where the first book end it, after Evie spend a one night stand with Grant, all she wanted to do was to go home, but he wouldn't let her, that's when Tyler ask her if she was ready to play with both wolves, Evie couldn't imagine how she got her self in that situation, now Tyler ask her what she wants and if she want to leave or stay.
In this book we get to find out who Tyler really is, and some secrets are discover, I couldn't put the book down when I started reading it, and now I cant wait for the third part of the series.
Author Helen Cooper THANK YOU for this awesome characters and this amazing book love it.
This is one hot little crazy read and I don't know quite what to think or begin to think where it will go next..Things aren't as they seem and I'm quite curious to see how part three is going to play out? This is a three part story but the first two are short, but kinda hot. I only hope part 3 is longer and a complete read finishing off this story hopefully with a Hea..hopefully. 4 stars
Even more psyco than the first few chapters. Tyler is going to handcuff her if she's not quiet? Shouldn't that be gag? How is handcuffing going to shut her up? And telling her to wait on the ground for him when they are in a house? Duh that's the floor not the ground how old is this writer? 49 pages of what sounds like a teenager's wet dreams. At least the second guy in as many nights she decides to screw has for thought to put a condom on since she was about to screw him without one. And Tyler is the Billionaire after all and Grant is the employee and Eugenie is still alive and held hostage. And she was with Tyler. But Grant supplied her drugs.
Evie is persuaded to fill in for her friend as a stripper/dancer for a bachelor party. Hoping to make a quick 5 grand she agrees against her better judgment. She is delegated to jump out of the cake. After mis-reading the ‘bang’ and jumping out too early, Evie is saved by a handsome sexy man. Grant Slate is pretty hot. He has Evie bent over the couch before she can get away. Tyler is hotter. There is something about him that makes you want to keep reading. Hoping he will have a stronger presence in future books.
This is the story of Evie and Tyler, Grant's driver and is also a novella. Tyler has been trying to get Evie to leave, but because she wants to find out what's going on, she stays and her attraction to Tyler leads to them sleeping together. That doesn't sit well with Grant and they have a conversation that changes Evie's mind to leave. This is a thrilling suspense with a good storyline, characters, sexual tension, and sex scenes. This is a good reads.
3 confused star for part 1 2 curious-confused star for part 2 2 twisted-mind star for part 3
despite the review here in GR i'd like to give it a shot since usually i got different opinion.. usually i found one book still worth 4* or even 5* for me even tough many people give negative review but this one,, i totally lost it
part 1 honestly, i like the idea of the story when i read the synopsis but somehow along the way, i got lost in track and confused about the whole story right after Evie spend the night with Grant
many outcome plot plopped in my mind,, maybe Grant had multiple personality? maybe he got cheated with some gold-digger woman before? who the hell Tyler actually? he's a freaking driver but can walked around the house and even got a chance to have alone time with Evie (since there's no sense for an Alpha-Male allowed that to happened with all their usual 'MINE' gesture)
there's so much question pique my curiosity & made me continue to next part coz in my mind 'oh, maybe there's a nice stomach fluttering surprise at the end of the day'
part 2 there's too much mystery & too much stupidity on Evie part in here; made me want to scream right at her ear (or maybe to the author, since i can't catch her direction at all) too many dialogue between Grant & Tyler which i don't understand what they meant; to many words about 'game' uttered from Grant & Tyler the to Evie which i don't get overall i leave hanging & totally confused
but again, i was curious-frustrated to know the outcome. and in my mind 'maybe the answer will be all uncover in the last part', so i keep continue even with the dragging read
i actually like Tyler i caught here; the Alpha-Dominant male i like in this Erotica genre
part 3 ok, this is the last part & the pin-point from me 'this series really not the IT-book for me'
i really still totally confused till the last word of it even tough (i'm not sure tho), there's suppose a reveal about all of the confusing mystery and from their puzzled word somewhere in there,, but i can't catch it too many twist & i can't catch which was the right one and which was the plot twist
overall, i confused & really don't know what i read out from this one
There is no way these two men, Grant and Tyler, could get any creepier! Things are definitely NOT as they seem. What is it with them and keeping women to play their games with? And what exactly are these games?
This series by Helen Cooper is a warning to us women. NEVER, EVER, have a one night stand with a stranger! NEVER, EVER, ABSOLUTELY EVER, during that one night stand go with that stranger to his home. ARE YOU COMPLETELY OUT OF YOUR MIND?
Now I was a young woman during the era of the sexual revolution... yes, I am that old. I have prided myself with being very open minded and going with the flow. I have immense tolerance and appreciation of letting everyone have their freedom. As long as they don't endanger others, it is consensual, and they don't break the laws, eh, who am I to judge? Go for it! But one night stands scare the "bee-joovies" out of me! In my time, there was a movie called "Looking for Mr. Goodbar". Once I saw it, I was cured. Never did I let anyone I did not know take me home. Ahem!
Evie is either a total innocent/naive chick, or she is "scared stupid". She needs to wise up! These two men talk in riddles and give away nothing. She already has found letters from Eugenie and they should serve as a warning. Please, girl, just try and run away from this place! Mystery or not... did you not know curiosity killed the cat?!!!
For those of you who have not read this series yet, be warned. This is DARK and the dark will lure you in, just like it happened to me. I am biting my nails waiting for Part III so I can make sure Evie gets away!
WTF!! As I read this book I thought I had already figured out what my review was going to be and then BAM, a huge WTF moment happened and I was thrown for a loop. The last chapter blew my mind and the cliffhanger was AWESOME!! I was torn in this book because Evie came off as such a weak and needy character. She was acting like a *itch in heat and couldn't decide if she should stay or go. I really didn't like Tyler or Grant, they both came off as psychos. I didn't like this book at first, because I was wondering how someone could be so dumb and weak willed (Evie) but I couldn't put it down because I wanted to know want was going to happen and boy am I glad I did finish!! I ended up loving this book! I can't wait for part three to find out what is going on. Grant and Tyler both have a lot of explaining to do and there is a surprise character that we will play a major part in book 3. Who will Evie choose Grant or Tyler? I was given an ARC, but since I liked it so much I bought a copy also.
This is part two of a three part novella. They are short, sharp and pack a punch. It twists and turns one way then the other. This one is no different.
In part one i was a little critical of Evie for going to a strangers house. Yet i think i forgot her age, not that its an excuse. No its a reason to understand. Evie knows she was stupid, no that is a little harsh, she was foolish, to go with a stranger. There is more, much more going on than Evie knows and she is becoming a little concerned for her safety. She is unsure of who to trust.
Who is Grant?
Who is Tyler?
Who was Eugenie?
Yep as pre normal i have many many more questions than answers. There is one point i did guess and i did not expect to be right, but i was, which is not usual for me.
Yes there is a huge huge, mega big cliff hanger and part III isn't out until 3rd October. Until then i will be in a dark corner muttering to myself while i eat chocolate.
The anticipation for this book was out of this world.... after the way the last book ended.... pure torture! (good torture though)
I don't want to give much away but this story just took a twist I wasn't expecting! I was totally blindsided by the twist and turns that book has taken... Just wow!
You are left wandering who Tyler and Grant really are.... what are their stories???? Is Evie who we really think she is??? What is the story with Eugenie??? I am just so confused... maybe I should go back and read again.....
Do I choose Tyler??? Do I choose Grant???? There is just something about them both... maybe its the mysterious side of them of the sexual side. It could also be that I am just so confused where the story is going that I want them both and neither all at the same time!
There has been a theme with this review... confusion but a good confusion.... there is still one more story left and I can't wait to see what is in store for these characters!
I don't really consider myself a harsh critic of books, but this whole series does not make sense. It's a big riddle with no real plot and no depth. I can't even describe how messed up this series is. I don't think I like any of the characters at all. Does it make you want to read all 3? Yes, just to figure out how this rushed, hot mess of a story will end. I read the reviews for all 3 books in this series and noticed a lot of the 4 and 5 star reviews from each reviewer are almost exactly the same word for word for each book. How much are people getting paid to give 4 or 5 star reviews for each book in this series? Cooper needs to hire me. I would at least re-word my review for each book instead of copying and pasting. However, since she didn't pay me, here's 2 stars... the extra star because she actually created something so messed up that I am intrigued enough to read the final book. It's a train wreck I can't look away from.
Wow I'm still so freakin lost. Are they really wolves or is that just a figure of speech?! Ugh these two books are driving me crazy. The more I read them the more lost and frustrated I get. Evie ends up sleeping with Tyler. She doesn't know who to trust. She starts trusting Tyler. But then she tries to escape but ends up in a closet and over hearing the conversation between Tyler and grant. Supposedly Tyler is the billionaire and is the one keeping evie there. But what she was told was that grant was the billionaire one. It's so confusing. She doesn't know what's true anymore. Then she feels someone breathing next her. And in the flesh is eugenie. She isn't dead like they told her. And supposedly eugenie is tylers ex not grants. Eugenie said to be quiet and if they find out she knows this information she will be stuck there forever just like she is. Like wtf is going on. Ahhhhh
First of all, I was given an advanced copy for my honest review, however I still purchased the book. If I was Evie I would be so confused, I mean Tyler is warning her about Grant, but then he is hitting on her as well. Evie over hears Grant and Tyler having a conversation, and she is so confused that she hides in the closet. While Evie is in the closet, she realizes there is another person in there as well, that somebody will be a major character in part 3, I'm assuming. I don't which man I would choose because it doesn't seem like either one of them is telling the truth, and they both seem crazy. So, Helen please hurry and give us part 3. I loved Alpha Billionaire, and Alpha Billionaire 2, and I'm dying to find out more about the person in the closet with Evie. Thanks Helen for giving us such great cliffhanger's, that gives us something more to look forward to.
Holy Cliffhangers Batman! This is Book 2 in a 3 part series By the Talented Mrs. Helen Cooper. We Get too see more of Tyler in this book and Holy Hotness enter Swoon Here. Tyler and Grant are obviously Playing some kind of game with Evie and her emotions and she should run Far away from them both, However her Curiosity (or maybe its her hormones face it these guys are Sex on a stick lol) Get the better of her and she sticks around. This Book went in so many different Directions that as soon as I was sure about something Bam I was Wrong. There are multiple times I was Like WTF just happened. This Book is rather short Being the second book in the Three book Series but That did not keep Mrs. Cooper from Jam packing it with Twist, Turns and Bam A Huge Cliffhanger. I cant Not wait for Book Three to be released!!
Just when I thought this little series couldn't get any more confusing, I'm proven wrong.
The character had started out good and likable. She was swept away by a handsome mysterious man and I enjoyed her journey. This book completely changed my mind.
Evie has become more stubborn, nosy, confusing, and completely irritating. I'm not even sure what she wants anymore and found myself wanting to throw my phone more than once while reading about how she wants to leave, but then seems to turn down every chance she has to leave. What in gods name do you want, Evie???
I'm going to finish the series for my own sake. Even though I'm irritated and confused I want to see how it ends. Ugh, I guess that's something I have in common with Evie. I feel like this is going nowhere good, but I'm too stubborn to quit.
WTF Seriously my head is spinning and if I was Evie I would probably just stop thinking , give up and be at both Tyler and Grant's mercy because HOT DAMN !! There is going to be a big twist to this story but when ?? I just don't know. It is not what it seems and answers don't seem to want to come to us. Evie is stuck in this house and Grant seems to be the one she needs to watch out for. Yet here is Tyler with all his cryptic messages and claims of desire. What is a girl to do. Again this is a story and being that it is not reality why not make some more bad decisions and let Tyler lead you astray !! I am all for Evie and her bad decisions !! TEAM THREESOME !! Come on Evie get with the program !! After hearing Grant and Tyler's convo and coming into contact with a certain someone I am thinking part 3 is going to start off with a BANG !!
**I was given a complimentary ARC COPY by the author in return for an honest review**
Helen Cooper can captivate a reader and have you begging for more.
I hope your ready because between these two wolves they have huffed and puffed and BLEW my mind. Just when you think you have it all figured out Helen Cooper turns everything and leaves you like "Holy Craziness... What just happened?" I can't wait to see the conclusion of this story in part 3. Will Evie find what she truly desires or will everything she is be consumed by the Big Bad Wolf? Who's the real alpha Grant or Tyler, and what do they want with Evie, to dominate her or consume her? And you won't believe the ending... Hold on to your mind cause it's about to be blown.
