Yours for the Night

Rate this book
From the author of Yours for the Weekend comes a sharp and steamy sapphic romance novella that is perfect for fans of Mistakes Were Made and Saving Graces.

Lily Lewis isn’t looking for love.

Avoiding the small, rural town she grew up in at all costs, Lily reluctantly agrees to spend the holidays with her family in their nearby lake house. Old memories of people she’d rather forget resurface, leading her to seek out a stress relieving one-night-stand.

After their steamy night together, Lily is shocked to see Harlow—her mom’s newest mentee—walk through her family’s kitchen door. Neither woman is looking for a relationship. But they can’t deny their sizzling chemistry or the sexual tension crackling between them, and they agree to secretly hook up.

Lily assumes the heat between them will fizzle out when she leaves town, so she doesn’t anticipate them playing their favorite board game online together. Or watching movies over FaceTime. Or sharing parts of their past they don’t tell anyone.

As real feelings develop, Lily must decide if she’s willing to pursue a relationship or is she too haunted by the ghosts of her past to give love a chance.

This was a delightful, beautiful, and quick read. I had already read Briegh Parker's first book and couldn't wait to learn more about Lily.

Briegh has a great writing style and manages to make the chemistry between two characters explode with just a few words. I really like "no strings attached to a committed relationship" because it's just incredibly beautiful to watch two characters fall in love with each other through a casual relationship. That's exactly how I felt about Lily and Harley, two strong personalities who basically didn't want anything to do with love, but couldn't help but admit to themselves at some point that they were perfect for each other. Although it's a novella, there was great character depth with a lot of background information about the MCs. I also really liked Lily's family and how perfectly Harley fits in there.

The novella had many spicy scenes that were so well written that my ears blushed. Wow! Buckle up!

The banter between the two of them and the text messages were very entertaining and just plain fun. I want more from these two! But also from Casey and Dakota from the first part. A lovely group of friends who are there for each other and have such wonderful, honest communication.

Many thanks to author Briegh Parker for providing an ARC. It was a lot of fun and I can't wait to read more from her.

This was a good novella. Easy to read, perfectly paced, and with likeable characters that have chemistry. Once again, I am impressed by Parker's ability to make me so invested within a few pages. Chapter one immediately brings chemistry with a really spicy scene 🤯. After, comes the banter, the push and pull, then intimacy takes place. The long distance relationship was really sweet to read.
The book is simply well done. Lily's reason for not wanting to move back is certainly valid, but it could have been stronger, or I maybe I expected some confrontation. The single POV made me wish to know Harlow better because she was really interesting. But overall, I really enjoyed the book, and I am so ready to read a full length romance from Parker.

YUM-ME! very much enjoyed this short and spicy read. I read the other Novella a while back and totally forgot about this little gem but it came at the perfect time for my Christmas reads. These 2 can hardly get enough of each other and I really enjoyed their little text exchanges during the long distance. Wish there was more of that and wish we had dual POV but we still get to learn plenty of Harlow through Lily’s eyes. I think because Harlow later admits just how long she was holding back her feelings, it would’ve made for some good moments in the beginning especially.

If you like a no string attached that inevitably ends in a relationship and are looking for some Christmas atmosphere then it's the book for you - bonus poin is a novella so you can read it in just one afternoon.

I loved how the book shows how childhood traumas can affect an adult's life even years later and how the latter can be able to overcome them and start trusting again thanks to a healthy relationship.

Enough about the plot, I don't want to make torrpi spolier 🤐. Now to the TROPES!!!
In this book you'll find:

-One night stand to forever
-Strangers to FWB to Lovers
-Small Town
-Novella
-Forced Proximity
-Contemporary
-Holiday Romance
-Secret dating
-Long distance relationship
-Bratty femme × Masc
-Restraints & straps
-No strings attached
- All queer friend group
and the inevitable Found Family.

So if you see something you like I recommend you give this book a chance

Overall it's a 3.5⭐ and 3.75🔥

This book was absolutely phenomenal!! The chemistry between Lily and Harlowe was on fire!
I loved all the spicy scenes in this book because not only were the hot as hell, but they felt real!
The FMCs and the side characters all had great humor and such amazing relationships with one another it felt like being apart of one big family! ! loved how much Lily grew throughout the book and I loved how Harlowe never rushed her but gave her the time she needed! The way they looked at each other made me so giddy and happy for them and they're not even real people! I highly highly recommend this fantastic sapphic romance!! Thank you so much to Breigh Parker for this ARC and of course these are my honest opinions!

The attraction and chemistry was instantaneous and the spice hit hard from the beginning but there was also a lot of heart. Working through childhood trauma, letting go of past situations that no longer serve you, being able to recognize when you have something good right in front of you and finding a family where you fit right in with no expectations.

Yours for the Night is a quick read but that didn’t stop the author from giving the story depth. I haven’t yet read Yours for the Weekend but after the delight that was this book, it’s going on the TBR and I must read it soon.

Thank you to Briegh Parker for providing me with an eARC. I can’t wait for the next one!

If you want to read like a quick, holiday romance novella, this is perfect. It's a fun, short, spicy read for your holiday season, ideal for a night in.

One of the main appeals of novellas is that you get the whole arc of a romance within a shorter span. So if you don't have much time to read or aren't into slow burns, this is perfect. Any qualms I had with the book were around it feeling rushed, but since it's a novella, it's not worth noting. The price you pay with fewer pages is that the story might feel rushed, and though it did at times, since it was a novella, it wasn't a concern like it would be in a full-length novel. I appreciated that, within a shorter number of pages, we got to see an emotional arc for the main character. Like a full-length romance novel, there was an emotional barrier to overcome before the end, and there was a healing moment for the main character. This didn't feel like a short story; it felt like a fast-paced, character-driven novel, and that's what I really enjoy about this author's novellas. Also, I don't generally comment on spice, but the spice in the book was a lot of fun.

All in all, you need a quick, fun read? You need a spicy, sapphic holiday romance? This is the book for you!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(3.5 rounded up)
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ (2 full scenes, a few partial scenes)

Thank you to Briegh Parker for the advanced copy! I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.

ARC REVIEW
Yours for the Night x @brieghparkerauthor
Out: DECEMBER 2nd
Spice Level: 🔥🔥🔥

This is a fun holiday read that had some of my favorite things in it! Michigan + Werewolf GAYme nights + avoidant MCs + and this quote: “Wow, I hate her so much,” Harlow says. “I hope her sourdough starter grows mold.”

I think this book was so relatable, making it very easy to fall into Harlow and Lily’s steamy romance! Their chemistry was so believable I kept thinking “okay, good luck with thinking this is a one night stand — sure, Jan” 😉

If you want a quick read, that shows the nuances of how trauma impacts us all differently, while also seeing a bratty femme and a bossy masc pretending like they don’t want more than a FWB type relationship — this one is perfect for you!

📚 ARC Review 📚 Thanks to the author for this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This novella is the second in a series, but it reads perfectly as a stand-alone - and it’s a spicy, small-town holiday romance that’s ideal for the festive season ❄️📚

The story follows Lily as she heads to her family’s lake house for the holidays, where she meets Harlow after swiping right and having one hell of a one-night stand! It might just be the hottest first chapter ever 🔥

And Harlow is an absolute angel 😍 A commanding, confident top who also happens to run an ice-cream shop 🫠 Scoop her up, Lily! 🍨

Luckily, a sapphic twist of fate leads to some delightful forced proximity for Lily and Harlow, and as they keep crossing paths, the chemistry and sexual tension only get hotter!

For a novella, it’s brilliantly spicy - with a delicious game of control in the bedroom 🔥🌶 There’s steamy intimacy, secret dating, and even a touch of long-distance longing and yearning ❤️

It’s a fun, sexy story that still manages to pack in emotional depth and genuine character growth, all in a short, satisfying read 📚🏳️‍🌈🫶

this is technically a novella but whatever i’m rating it anyway.
i loved this, the spice was so good and their chemistry was just great right from the beginning. the pacing was done well, and i felt like i really got to know the characters even in the short time. i WISH, that we had gotten harlows POV, and there was a few more scenes i would’ve liked to see with the family, but i get why we didn’t. i liked how they kept texting after, and the way they nonchalantly started dating. and lilys quick freak out and then casey calling was done well and how she made it up to harlow. i loved the side characters, i love a fun friend group!💗

**edited to add thoughts on bonus chapter**

Y'alls!?! Ok, so after reading Yours For The Weekend, I couldn’t wait until December to read this one, so I applied for an ARC and got it! I absolutely loved Lily and Harlow's story! It's rare to find a novella that has such a well developed plot and complex characters, but Briegh Parker has now done it twice. I’m almost certain that I’ll reread this one before the end of the year!
Some things I loved:
- Their chemistry was instant
- The spice spiced 🫠🌶 and was made integral to the plot (strap & light restraints included)
- Their banter was wonderful
- Sweet & heated stolen moments
- Chaotic & loving friends + gayme nights
- Complicated family relationships/history
- One night to forever + forced proximity + secret dating
- And of course there was plenty of tension &
longing & love

The bonus spicy chapter from Harlow's POV!?!? ((fans self)) that was mmmm 🤌🏻🫠🥵 I was not prepared, but ohhh was it wonderful!

Babes, if you’re looking for a short and spicy holiday escape with enough steam to fog up your snow-dusted windows, Yours for the Night by Briegh Parker is the sapphic novella of your dreams. Seriously—this one had me kicking my feet, fanning myself, and grinning like an idiot all in under 200 pages. It's a gift, truly.

We’re back in Parker’s perfectly messy, emotionally rich world, and this time we’re following Lily—guarded, prickly, and very much not looking for love. She’s back in her hometown for the holidays (reluctantly), ghosts of the past in tow, and what better way to cope than a hot one-night stand? Enter Harlow, aka the perfect combo of confident and kind, with just enough edge to keep Lily on her toes. Their first encounter? Whew. I had to sit down. It’s giving “this will be a mistake but let’s make it twice,” and babes, we love that for them.

But then—plot twist—Harlow shows up in Lily’s family home, very much not a stranger to the people Lily was trying to avoid. It’s awkward. It’s hot. It’s everything sapphic holiday tension should be. What starts as a secret hookup quickly spirals into movie nights, late-night texts, board games, and emotional intimacy that neither of them saw coming. The whole "no strings" thing? Yeah, that ship sinks fast, and watching them fall for each other had me fully invested.

What I love about Parker’s writing is that she doesn’t just bring the spice (and babes, let’s be clear—there is spice, and yes, toys are involved), she brings the heart. Lily’s journey of reckoning with her past, learning to trust, and slowly letting herself be loved is just as compelling as the sizzling scenes. And Harlow? An absolute dream. The kind of sapphic love interest who sees past all the defenses and stays anyway. Ugh. I’m in love.

Yours for the Night is flirty, fun, and surprisingly full of healing. It’s about choosing joy after pain, connection after loss, and letting love in even when it feels safer to shut the door. It’s a holiday novella that gives you all the cozy vibes and makes you blush—what more could you ask for?

I devoured this in one sitting and immediately wanted more. Parker continues to build this universe of messy, lovable, queer women who are trying their best—and I’m absolutely here for every single installment. If you liked Yours for the Weekend, you’re going to eat this one up. And if you haven’t read either yet, babes... it’s time.

Now excuse me while I go re-read a certain steamy chapter with a toy that might just be the real star of the holidays.

Yours for the Night by @brieghparkerauthor

Briegh Parker brings us Lily’s story!

If you’ve read Yours for the Weekend, you’ll have some idea of who Lily is

And what an utterly perfect addition this is too!

Some authors just know who to write chemistry between two characters, I personally don’t think it’s that easy to do and I’ve read a fair few that lack it…

NOT Briegh!!

Lily and Harlow’s jump off the pages from the moment they start messaging each other on a dating app.

Lily who is working her way to become an airline captain, only visits home twice a year IF that…
As the book goes on, we find out why. And for once it’s nothing to do with her family, her parents are lovely, but not perfect, and her two siblings, Lucy and Landon, who are…well….siblings lol and offer some funny quips.

Harlow has inherited her late uncle’s ice cream shop, her safe place as a child. She’s no clue how to run a business but with the help of Lily’s mum, who’s “retired” but needs to keep herself busy, she finds the support she needs.

Chucked into the mix is the cute Daisy, the Golden retriever Harlow rescued on one of her many travels around America in her van….

After their first one night together, Lily doesn’t expect to see Harlow again…. AS IF!!

There’s lily enjoying her time with her family when suddenly Harlow appears to have been invited as well?!

The sexual tension is off the scale a fair few times!

These two love to mess with each other but not in a toxic way, there’s plenty of flirting, smirking, deliciously hot take charge moments, and plenty of spice!

They both decide to keep it a secret so that Lily’s mum doesn’t get any ideas about her moving back to Michigan from California! And Harlow has her own reasons.

The more time they spend together over text, Facetime and playing online board games while Lily is off working back in California, they start to open up more and more..

I have to say I love to see Text chat between 2 MC in a book
These ones are done so well.

By the end of a very funny, hot, well written story ..
We get the HEA they deserve

I’m so glad I found this author last month!
Thanks for letting me have a sneaky peek!

🌙 Yours for the Night by Briegh Parker
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

i already adored Yours for the Weekend and i was completely feral for casey & dakota... SOOOOO when they made an entrance in this one?? I. LOST. IT. 🤭🤭🤭 even tho it was a lil entrance 😭😭😭 BUUUUT harlow & lily oh my god. they’re the definition of a power couple. like the chemistry was explosive. the dom/sub dynamic was SO hot but also so tender and sooo so trusting. briegh really knows how to write that kind of spice that feels both sinful and safe at the same time smhhh????? 😭🔥
also... the long-distance theme absolutely shattered me in the best way. me & my fiancée were LDR for four years, and briegh just got it SMH???? those annoying “i miss you sm babe” feelings and the ache of missing someone so much it’s physical pain and the relief of finally being in their arms again AAAAGH she captured all of it perfectly. 🥹💚 and can we TALK about DAISY — harlow’s dog??? absolute main character energy. THE DOG WAS THE MC GUYS!!!!! that little princess had me giggling and kicking my feet. she deserves treats, cuddles, and maybe her own spin-off novella tbh. 🐾🤭 for a short book, the spice was SOOOO OVER THE FUCKIIING MOON GUYS!!!! i finished it and just sat there like “what did i just read.” also i was ovulating by the time i read it so i turned out to be such a pain in my fiancées ass 💀💀💀 BUT NVM!! the AAAAGHHHH moments were endless i laughed, blushed, and clutched my pillow like it owed me emotional support 😭 briegh's writing was already awesome sauce in her first short novella BUUUT yet i feel like she improved a loooot as an author?? which makes me SOOOO happy because her short stories are seriously amazing for a super comfy short read!!! ❤️‍🔥🌶✨️

Before I get into my review I want to say..
I think a lot of authors don’t take consent into proper consideration when writing a smut book, it’s often implied the characters have consent but it’s rarely mentioned. That’s why I love that this author made it a point for Harlow to check in with Lily to make sure everything she was doing was okay and that she kept checking too because consent can just as easy be taken away during. More authors need to write about that, I think it’s important to highlight that asking for consent isn’t a mood killer.

I was worried this book wouldn’t live up to the high expectations the first one set but it was even better, this author truly has a way with words.

The fact we got a little update on Casey and Dakota made me so happy, I love it when a non- sequel has little tidbits in about a previous book.

The actual plot whilst a smut book was still lovely, the struggling with past situations and being scared was so relatable. I loved Harlow and Lily’s story, they really make a great couple.. I also loved Mrs Lewis, how she knew they were together but kept it a secret until they were ready was so cute and the saying she’d always be like a daughter too her even if they broke up had me in the feels

Overall a great book, I genuinely can’t wait to see what this author writes next

I quite literally devoured this book! It truly is such a fun, steamy, holiday-feel read that you won't regret. The characters are so lovable, and their chemistry was next level. I really loved the way Lilly and Harlow interacted with one another.  I loved how much these two communicated. They were so adorable together, honestly. Not to mention the spice, GOD DAYUM. GREAT SCENES.

I loved the long-distance representation (but, God, did it hit home for me 😭, as I'm in a current LDR). I enjoyed watching them navigate the forced proximity they found themselves in. Their relationship also didn't feel rushed at all, as the timeline during the book spans many months. I was so giddy for them, and I swear I SQUEALED when they finally admitted they were perfect for each other. The additional characters were great; I loved the queer friend group and supportive family, especially the mom, and it was also awesome to get a little update on how Casey and Dakota were doing! The trauma representation was well done, and I loved that they both had things to work through; the hurt and comfort was really sweet. I highly recommend this one; it was great from start to finish.

Things I loved:
- Lesbian Romance, Bratty femme and stoic masc dom
- Forced proximity
- Overcoming trauma
- Long distance relationship
- Green! The consent was amazing, as was the spice

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ 2 scenes and multiple mini scenes (open door)
Burn: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Once again, Briegh has written a short, steamy, fun read. I managed to eat this up in a single sitting.

Lily is a career focused young woman who has avoided going back to her home town since she graduated high school. She’s managed to avoid her mom’s hinting at her moving back to Michigan, until her brother announces that he and his fiancé are moving home.

Enter Harlow, a sexy one night stand that Lily never thinks she’ll see again. Lo and behold, she shows up to cookie baking day and Christmas. Come to find out, Lily’s mom has been helping Harlow at her ice cream shop.

The pair dance around one another, texting and calling on a regular basis after Lily leaves. They also find a way to play their favorite board game together online. Add in the multiple visits to Michigan, and the pair are falling for one another.

Everything about this story was amazing. The pacing didn’t feel rushed, the spice was well written and perfectly steamy, and the characters were all so fun.

I loved every page, and I’m so excited to see more from Briegh!

Like Yours for the Weekend, I really enjoyed this story featuring a side character from the first one, Lily. I love romances starting off with a one night stand - it's so fun! I enjoyed the story arc of both of these characters - especially Lily's. She didn't want to move/visit home because of something that happened from her past and without giving the details, there is this one scene that is so therapeutic and I really resonated with it and think others will too who have gone through a similar situation. I really enjoyed this story filled with steamy romance, good family times, gayme nights, and holiday fun! Definitely recommend picking up this novella when it comes out 12/2 - perfect timing for this Christmas romance :)

Read if you like:
- One night stand to lovers
- Small town & long distance romance
- Interested in vanlife and travel
- Baking cookies
- Holiday reads
- Short & steamy romances
- For fans of Meryl Wilsner, Ashley Herring Blake, & Alison Cochrun

Thank you so much to the lovely author, Briegh Parker for the early review copy 🫶🏻

Not that I’m surprised but I absolutely devoured this one much like I did with “Yours for the Weekend”.

I have said it before that I typically gravitate to dual POV books but I can’t get enough of this author. It’s written in a way that the inner monologuing is humorous and doesn’t drag like other single POV’s I’ve read. The chemistry is so good and evident between Lily and Harlow that I don’t feel like I’m pining for a look into Harlow’s head to understand where she’s at!

The pacing of is perfect and it doesn’t feel too long or too short. I was hooked from the beginning, which consists of a very bold one night stand and didn’t put it down until its completion!

The author has consistently written, cute, well-paced, spicy stories that I will repeatedly read.

I wouldn’t be mad if Lucy realizes her dreary life and meets a lovely lass for herself 👀.

I included the spicy chapters but honestly the whole book is filled with tension and teasing it’s best to just saddle up and read from cover to cover.

Lily is coming home for Christmas, and along the way has a one night stand with Harlow. They have a very hot night, then she leaves for home.

Lily (mostly) gets along with her family, though her Mom wants her to move closer to home. Lily likes her job in California, so is resistant.

As they start cooking Christmas treats, a guest arrives... Harlow Brooks, who apparently was invited over by Mom for matchmaking with Lily. Lily is left with mixed feelings. Harlow also has no family...

They fight, Lily apologizes but Harlow seems uninterested in carrying on. Later in the week Lily's friend Em invites her out to game night... and Harlow is there. Again.

We also find out that Lily has avoided home because of losing her childhood best friend to a toxic newcomer who outted her.

After Lily leaves she and Harlow text and call, as well as arrange meet ups where they can. Finally Harlow admits she's falling for Lily, who has to process her issues before saying yes.

3 out of 5 stars.

Home for the holidays Lily is looking to have a little fun so when she matches with a dark haired travel enthusiast named Harlow with the most adorable pup she figures why not. What she didn’t expect was that after an incredible one night stand Harlow would be standing in her family kitchen. They really threw some small town curve balls on this one! The banter between Lily and Harlow really was entertaining. You could see their walls crumbling throughout the story brick by brick as their interactions developed more and more as they got to know each other. Somehow what started off as one of the spicier stories I’ve read in a long time turned into a sweet romance. You really feel the shift from casual to more (even if the MCs don’t admit at first). As much as a love some good drama wrapped up into story lines I also appreciate when it’s not there (unless you tease it). This was a fun weekend read and I would recommend practicing your poker face if you plan to read it anywhere in public.

I couldn’t put this book down! I loved Briegh’s first book and was so into the character development in a short novella. I was so excited for her newest release and loved that the characters were from the same world. I loved getting to know the neighbor next door, Lily and the hot new girl in town, Harlow. Lily, unsure about relationships and ready for hookups was thrown off course by Harlow in this perfect one nightstand-to-hookup-to-forever story. This book starts out strong with a HOT open-door scene and continues through with hookups you can’t forget. I appreciated the half-hearted third act breakup. I hate a true third act breakup so I liked how it wasn’t too real lol! The long distance relationship between Lily and Harlow had me wanting more and more. Definitely a must read when it publishes December 2nd! Just in time for a cozy, at home, holiday read (with some wlw spice 😉)

I absolutely loved the dynamic between the protagonists, and ultimately, that's what it comes down to: We never truly decide when the perfect moment arrives. No matter how many excuses we tell ourselves, when the right person comes along, they simply appear—and then it's up to us to take the leap or not. Of course, like the protagonists in this story, some of us might deceive ourselves for a while, hesitating and holding back. However, in the end, we must heal our wounds before we can fully commit to a relationship that nurtures both people equally.

If you're looking for a beautiful sapphic love story that explores emotional growth, vulnerability, and the courage it takes to open your heart again, this book is absolutely worth your time. It's a gentle reminder that love finds us when we're ready—or sometimes even before we think we are.

*Thank you to the author for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.*

Briegh Parker is 2/2 for short and spicy stories! I think I like this one even better than her debut. Yours for the Night is an interconnected standalone, but can be read by itself. (You meet Lily in Yours for the Weekend.) In this story, Briegh gives us a one night to forever story that is so good! Lily and Harlow hookup up on Lily's first night back in town without knowing they're connected through Lily's mother. This was spicy right up front, but the emotions really built throughout the story. If you love one night stands that really aren't one night, secret hookups, sapphic romance, and an emotional backstory, this one is going to be for you!

Painfully hot characters developing a stunningly steamy bond. I read the first book and loved it… this one does NOT disappoint. From the get go you just want the two main characters to get together and are rooting for them. The side characters are enriching and natural. The links to the previous book are nostalgic but not vital to understanding this one. A beautiful story about overcoming trauma. The author does a great job of showing how different levels of trauma affect people differently, and how support and seeking help can influence how you manage your own issues. No problem is made to seem “less than” and I could relate strongly to Lily and her childhood experiences. Highly recommend this quick read to anyone. It has heart, heat and humility.

SPICY and sweet sapphic short story for the snowy season! I was a little shocked by the immediate dive into spice, and then you get to follow the tidbits of them falling for each other. It has a dom/brat dynamic and "good girl" was said a few times, for those looking for those specific key points. It was done very respectfully with safety being used between the characters, so I don't believe any trigger warnings go with that content.
I received an eARC in exchange for an honest review, and I thought it was well done for a short story. Especially considering that I don't typically read shorts, nor do I favor this particular type of smut. I still enjoyed it and I believe many others are going to love it.

I’m usually wary when things start from an app, because the setup usually feels too serendipitous. But the execution here made sense; it’s not easy for a sapphic to find a fling in a small town.

Lily is back in town for the holidays. Harlow just moved in to take over her uncle’s shop. Neither’s looking for anything serious. Except they keep bumping into each other and it's all 👀👀🥵🥵

For a spicy novella, YFTN did not scrimp on character development. We got to understand both MCs’ pasts and current struggles. Plus, it was nice that Lily wasn’t administering her own therapy.

Yours for the Night was the perfect break between sci-fi reads for me. It was a heartwarming, one-night-to-forever romance filled with Christmas bakes and spice - door? What door?!
