The Daisy Chain Collapse

Rate this book
When one link breaks, the entire chain trembles.

Told through multiple, deeply emotional perspectives, The Daisy Chain Collapse continues the story of three inseparable friends—Rose, Violet, and Mei—whose bond was shattered by a tragic accident. Now, in the wake of unimaginable loss, the people they left behind must navigate the wreckage of their memories, their guilt, and the fragile possibility of healing.

As each voice enters the story—Violet, Mei, Rose, Thorne, Cam, Mr. and Mrs. Wong, and many more—strangers become family, grief becomes connection, and the simple act of surviving becomes something sacred. Every character carries a piece of the broken chain… and every choice they make creates ripples that shape the lives around them.

This is not a story of suspense—it is a story of hearts laid bare. A narrative about learning to breathe again when the air still tastes like sorrow. About loving again when the ghosts of the past feel too heavy to hold. About finding hope in the people who choose to stay.

I really liked this book. It’s not a fast or super dramatic book, but it stays with you. I didn’t cry, but I was definitely moved occasionally. There were moments where I paused and sit with what a character was feeling because it felt real, especially when it came to grief and trying to move forward when life doesn’t magically “fix itself.”

What I appreciated most was how character-focused it is. Getting multiple perspectives helped me understand how deeply the events from the first book affected everyone, not just the main characters. It made the story feel more human, like you’re seeing the ripple effects of one moment across many lives. Sometimes this also felt a bit repetitive, but I think that makes sense because the book leans heavily on introspection, which makes the pacing feel a bit slow, but the story does stay on track.

Overall though, it’s a thoughtful, emotional sequel that does what it sets out to do. It doesn’t try to shock you, that was more of the vibe for the first book. This book leans more to make you feel. I give it 4 stars. It's worth reading, especially if you cared about the characters in the first book.

I don't know where to begin, but for starters this book made me feel EVERYTHING, all the feelings. It was an emotional roller-coaster that I honestly did not want to get off of. This is and absolutely was the perfect sequel to The Daisy Chain Reaction. It gave a deep dive into every single character and their lives before during and after the climax of TDCR. It was well put together flowed beautifully with book 1 and left me wanting for nothing. The writing was flawless, the setting perfect, the emotion on point. I got lost in this book, both books, and I never wanted to come out. This was definitely the most emotion inducing read of 2025. Grab a box of tissues and prepare for The Daisy Chain Collapse.

Some books don’t just tell a story.. they sit with you, breathe with you, and quietly break you open. The Daisy Chain Collapse did exactly that!

As the second and final book in The Daisy Chain duology, this story doesn’t rush. Instead, it dives deep into the emotional aftermath of everything that began in The Daisy Chain Reaction. While book one keeps you on edge, book two stays with the people.. their pain, love, desires, frustrations, and the ripple effects of the event happed in TDCR..

What truly stood out to me was how beautifully the author captured every character’s emotional journey, even those we might not have realized were affected in book one. Nothing felt overlooked. Every feeling mattered. And you don’t just read those emotions, you feel them in your own chest…

This book was especially powerful for me because I read it while going through a similar situation, which made it deeply relatable and personal. There were moments where it felt like the pages were holding up a mirror.

Another aspect I deeply appreciated was the respectful and meaningful representation of the Deaf community and ASL. The care taken with this felt intentional and powerful, adding so much depth to the story.

This isn’t a fast read .. but it doesn’t need to be. It keeps you engaged, emotionally invested, and quietly unraveling the entire time. Please keep tissues and water nearby… you’ll need both!!!

The Daisy Chain Collapse is emotional, raw, and unforgettable.
I highly recommend this book, and the entire duology to everyone who loves stories that don’t shy away from real feelings!!

Book 2 is even better than Book 1 and I didn’t think that was possible!!

I really had to sit with this one for a bit. It shattered my heart into a thousand pieces, but also helped me heal in ways I didn’t even realize I could.

The sisterhood between the main character and her two best friends came through even stronger in this book.
The way the book addressed grief, mental health, and chosen family hit me so hard. It was done with feeling and depth, and you could tell the author felt passionate about these subjects and it was soo much more than just story telling, though the story telling was lovely as well.

I am normally not a fan of the same story being told in multiple perspectives but the way this was done, it wasn’t just a retelling. You were being given new and vital information, and characters you already thought you knew and loved were embedded deeper into your heart, while exposing you to some new players in the game who truly altered the the overall painting that was this story, into a masterpiece.

The over arching theme of the ripple effects one life can have, and how one person can change soo many lives, was so so beautiful and profound.
I’m a mess, and I’m crying, but this story will stick with me, and the author is so talented that I’d give her my heart to break again anytime.

~The following review is for both The Daisy Chain Reaction and The Daisy Chain Collapse~

I don't even know how to begin what I want to say. These two stories combined have me almost lost for words. I cried so much on my journey through the pages. I've never come out of a book feeling so SEEN, so understood, so...validated. I've experienced so many different sides that were shared. I've felt the guilt and anger of being a caretaker. I've experienced the autistic shutdown that leaves me paralyzed. I've felt trapped inside my own mind, though not in the same way as Rose. I will forever be grateful to the author for sharing these stories, and I am proud to say I am now another link in the growing Daisy Chain.

The way everyone's stories were written are so REAL. It really shows how the grieving process varies from person to person, and it validates all of it along the way. There's no wrong way to grieve. And then there's the trauma responses. Seth's chapter made me feel more seen than I've ever truly felt (and I have a GREAT therapist!) So, again, THANK YOU for putting these stories into the world, and thank you for SEEING me.

This book took me on an EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER! I have two things to say up front. First, you have to read book 1 if you haven't already. Second, make sure you have a box of tissues when you read this (bonus points if you don't already have a cold and aren't currently stuffed up like I am). I had anywhere from 1 tear to full on sobbing moments in this book and I wouldn't change a single thing. This is taking place at the same time as book 1 and we're seeing how the accident and aftermath is affecting the loved ones of Violet, Mei, and Rose. Absolutely beautifully written. We also see a community that comes together and embraces one another as a whole with characters representing the deaf and autistic and able bodied. We see care, compassion, and acceptance. I can't wait to see what the author does in the future!

This novel is not only an incredible sequel to The Daisy Chain Reaction, but it is one that will send you on an emotional rollercoaster like no other. It kept me on the edge of my seat, excited devouring every page to find out what happens next. The Daisy Chain Collapse will make you feel everything, and I can honestly say I have no regrets. This is truly one of those reads you will never forget.

This book really gave closure to the first daisy chain novel. A real look at the perspective of everyone involved while Rose was going through things. Don't read unless you want to laugh cry and love all at once.
