After stalking our FMC and she finding out her best friend is missing, our MMC kidnaps her and she just happens to be the daughter of a long time rival family of his. Now she thinks he’s behind her kidnapping too.

There is so much crazy, unhinged-ness in this and I ate it up 👏

I love a dark romance, and I love a cowboy romance - there really is no better combo. Kent’s writing is unique, and I always enjoy it.

If your looking for a morally grey MMC who is based and stalks his woman and can recount down to the minute since he laid eyes on her this then is your book! I enjoyed seeing Radisson’s character in Branded and was glad to see him get his own book despite not being an actual Grayson brother. This book does follow Branded and I do feel you get more out of the story having read the first book but I absolutely think you can read this as a stand alone. The first 30-40% of the book basically is told from the same timeline as branded so you don’t feel lost and you get Peyton Turner and Rads POV from those events. Peyton is the “Turner Princess” who they were actually after in book 1.
For those who didn’t read Branded I’ll make it simple. You get a Hatfield and McCoy-like family feud between The Graysons and The Turners. A tragic event occurred to Rads family and he’s out for revenge against Hank Turner- Peyton’s horrid excuse of a father. This man is vile. (Check TW before starting as this has dark content mention)

My thoughts: I enjoyed the captor x captive trope. It was almost a cat and mouse game as she knew she was being watched and did things just for him. Rad is so obsessed and protective of her despite her being the daughter of his mortal enemy. I did feel the plot was slow in certain parts and some of the dialogue repetitive. A few times their dialogue made me cringe and pulled me out of the plot. The over use of the words “big” and “large” used to describe Rad… I felt like I read it in every other page. This is a slowburn as they don’t get horizontal till around 73% but the filthy mouth that Rad has on him stokes the fire until their chemistry explodes. The spicy scenes were hot and I enjoyed those. I love primal and rope play and there were plenty of other spicy Microtropes to enjoy.

I love romantic suspense and I feel like the story line could have really leaned more into this but to me it fell a little flat. I had guessed correctly who was behind the trouble being caused. I was surprised by the truth a certain sister and hat added a lot to the overall story of leaving the past behind and starting fresh. I would have like to seen the villains get their due on page. This was the part that felt anticlimactic. This is just my hot take of how I felt in the moment reading. I did enjoy the reconciliation between Rad and Peyton after what had happened and how he had left things with her after she professed her love. He needs to grovel a little and I enjoyed that part. I enjoyed the found family aspect and the healing journey for not only Rad and Lennie but also Peyton and her brother. The epilogue circled back to what Rad had promised would happened and I enjoyed that. If you like morally grey men who will burn the world down for their woman while also keeping her tied to his bed then you’ll want to add Roped to your TBR.

3-3.25-3.5 ⭐️ (indecision!)

Roped is the book about Peyton and Radisson, the best friend and cousin, respectively, of the couple in the first book set in this world, Branded. I believe overall I enjoyed this book better than that one, though my memory for details is not great. I re-read my review of that book and could almost write the same exact thoughts about this one.

I liked this couple and their obsession with each other and his stalking of her. I liked that he was mostly quiet and his backstory (when it is finally fully revealed). As usual, I liked the steam and the dirty talk (though it kind of felt toned down for an SAK book, possibly?) and the nicknames (though those and the heroine repeating things back to the hero was lesser than in SAK books past - both good things in this case). This one also read less choppily than book one ended up feeling by the end.

However, similar to book one, the development and explanation for the family feud, the side characters and life on the ranch itself is not enough. Seeing/hearing about side characters just enough to glean what the tropes were or will be for their respective books is not enough to create emotional connections to those characters (between the main couple and them or the reader and them)- people who are supposed to be heavily impacting and motivating the main couple's lives. It does not realize them as characters over just cardboard cutouts told to us from the main couple's inner monologue, which is... prevalent.

Nearly everything that happens is told to us by their dual POV inner monologue, not shown as actual scenes. Because this author's voice/style is interesting and always something I've enjoyed, it doesn't read as badly as most telling vs. showing books, but the balance is still off. There are several ideas told in one or two sentences where I thought, "I would have liked to have seen this scene, heard what conversation they would have had and what the environment looked like".

In some cases overall feud/mystery plot elements are glossed over because they happened in the first book, or I suspect will be gone over in future books, and those parts read with a weird "something is missing here" feeling I suspect will be worse for someone who never read book one. Together with the overall underdevelopment, predictability and "sudden solving" of the mystery elements that are unique to this couple, the series-arching feud/ranch story elements are the weak side of the book.

The key part of the book, the romance, is entertaining enough if you like this author's insta-love/obsession and complete focus on the main couple style. On my scale it's not really a dark romance but if you are more used to traditional contemporary romances there are some dark-ish elements that might make it one for you.

Despite their minimal mention, I am intrigued by the married couple in these books, so despite a review of what seems like mostly negatives (easier to call attention to!) I am looking forward to seeing what in the world is going on with them.

There was never any question whether I was going to read Roped. Branded was one of my favorite books of 2025, and I couldn’t wait to get back into Saffron Kent’s twisted cowboy world, especially for Rad and Peyton’s story.

If you haven’t read Branded, I’d recommend starting there. While Roped overlaps with some of the same timeline rather than simply taking place after it, I think you’ll have a much richer reading experience knowing the larger world of rival families, revenge, land claims, and the Grayson family dynamics first.

That said, this book is much less about expanding that world and much more about Rad’s obsession with Peyton.

And honestly? I was completely okay with that.

Rad quickly became one of my favorite Saffron Kent heroes. He’s quiet, scarred, emotionally tortured, and absolutely consumed by Peyton. His “touch her and die” energy practically radiates off every page, and I loved watching this man wrestle with his need to protect her even when every piece of their family history tells him he should stay away.

Because that's really the heart of their relationship.

Rad is carrying wounds from his past that have convinced him Peyton is the one woman he can never have, no matter how impossible it is to stay away from her. Peyton, meanwhile, can't understand why she's so drawn to the very man she's convinced she should fear. That constant push and pull between forbidden attraction, danger, and undeniable longing made this romance impossible for me to put down.

Their chemistry was incredible.

There’s an almost fated-mates quality to the way these two keep circling each other, even when both know how complicated and wrong it should be. Peyton’s fascination with Rad works because Saffron leans fully into the darker psychology of their relationship. She gets off on the fear, but somehow he’s also the person who makes her feel safest, and that contradiction made their dynamic so addictive.

Peyton was also exactly the kind of heroine I enjoy. She isn’t intimidated by Rad for long, stands up to him when it matters, and never loses her voice even when he’s trying to take control. When these two finally put their hearts on the line, I was highlighting entire pages.

Where I struggled a bit was with how this book fit into the larger series. Because parts of Roped overlap with the timeline of Branded, I expected a little more clarity around how the events connected and perhaps more page time with the other characters. Instead, this is very much Rad and Peyton’s book, with the broader family feud and revenge plot serving more as the backdrop for their forbidden romance.

Even so, I never found myself wanting less of them.

The rope play, primal play, and steam all enhanced their dynamic without overwhelming the central love story. This is dark, obsessive, and emotionally intense, but it never lost sight of the fact that these are two people who are trying very hard not to want each other because their history says they never should.

The second Saffron announced this book, I already knew it was going to own me. Branded was one of my favorite reads of 2025, so getting back into this gritty, messy, morally questionable cowboy universe? Immediate yes.
That being said…don’t skip Branded. While Roped runs alongside parts of the first book instead of picking up after it, knowing the family rivalry, revenge, and Grayson drama beforehand makes everything hit so much harder.
Now let’s talk about Rad.
This man isn’t just down bad—he’s six feet underground. Quiet? Check. Emotionally damaged? Absolutely. Walking around carrying enough unresolved trauma to fuel an entire ranch? Also yes. Every scene screamed, “Look at her wrong and I’ll bury you where nobody will ever find you,” and I ate up every single second of it.
His obsession with Peyton is equal parts heartbreaking and unhinged. He believes she’s the one person he’ll never be allowed to have, yet he physically cannot stay away from her. Meanwhile, Peyton can’t decide if she wants to run from him…or straight into his arms. The tension between them is downright criminal.
Saffron A. Kent has such a talent for writing relationships that feel dangerous without ever losing the emotional core. Peyton is fascinated by the very man who terrifies her, yet somehow he’s also the place she feels safest. It’s twisted, addictive, and impossible to stop reading.
And Peyton? I loved her. She doesn’t shrink herself to make Rad comfortable, pushes back when he needs it, and refuses to let him steamroll her. She matched his intensity in all the best ways, which made their chemistry absolutely explosive. By the time these two started letting their walls crack, I was highlighting entire pages.
The only thing that kept this from being a perfect read for me was how it fit into the overall series. Since the timeline overlaps with Branded, I expected a few more puzzle pieces connecting the books and a little more time with the larger cast. Instead, the family feud mostly fades into the background while Rad and Peyton completely steal the spotlight.
Not that I’m complaining too much…because I honestly never wanted to leave their story.
The rope play, primal play, and scorching chemistry all served the romance instead of overshadowing it. Beneath all the obsession, angst, and forbidden longing is a love story about two people fighting feelings they never should’ve had in the first place—and that’s exactly what made it impossible to put down.
If toxic cowboy men with devotion issues are your favorite fictional red flag…welcome home. 🤠🖤

Give me a stalker romance with an utterly obsessed cowboy and a gorgeous college student with a spicy age gap, suspense and an absolute relentless yearning and angst and heat for days and I am there for it! Roped by Saffron Kent is book two in her dark cowboy romance and omg was it so good!

Radisson and Peyton. Couldn't be two more opposite people. Their families, The Turners and The Graysons have been rival ranches and enemies for decades. These two were brought up to hate each other’s families. Peyton Turner, the princess. Grew up wealthy yet totally alone. And went through so much hidden trauma. Yet she always put up a front. She genuinely always showed a kindness and happy personality, so selfless to those she loves. No one truly knew deep down the struggles she faced. Radisson King, this man. So many words to describe him. Broken, lonely, broody. A TRAGIC past, his parents died at age 15 and he suffered a TBI that forever changed him. So much trauma from that. His beautiful face scarred and has allowed it to define him, thought to be a “monster” by the world and he accepted that title. But he’s so much more! Sent to follow her, this man becomes absolutely obsessed with her. So protective, her silent guardian angel but she equally has become completely obsessed with him. And through circumstances, these two are thrown together. And omg. Their banter is perfect. The way she shows him such a pure and unconditional love even though he fights it so hard is beautiful. Add in my favorite hot age gap. Their angst and chemistry is pure fire. The push and pull until they finally give all in will have you dying for them to finally get together!! And when they do, my favorite, all the firsts and all for him. And this man’s mouth, so dirty and so delicious! Soooo worth the wait!

This book is deliciously DARK and a roller coaster of emotions. These two were inevitable. Between the danger, twisted secrets, and relentless tension, it becomes a story of healing, redemption, forgiveness and a love so consuming it becomes the only way to survive. I hope we get more of this series! I want the other brothers’ stories please!!

Saffron A. Kent really said God of Malice meets Yellowstone and then gave us a dark, dangerous, deliciously obsessive romance that had me completely hooked.

Roped is the kind of book that leans all the way into the shadows and somehow still finds light there.

Peyton knows someone is watching her. She can feel him outside her window. Sense him in the dark. Smell him when he gets too close. She does not have proof, but she knows her masked stalker is real.

And honestly? The fact that she is scared but also a little drawn to the danger?

Yeah. I was seated.

Rad, her dark Phantom cowboy, is broody, scarred, dangerous, possessive, and hiding so much more than Peyton realizes. Their dynamic is pure cat and mouse, except once Peyton finally calls her monster out of the shadows, the game becomes so much bigger than either of them.

What I loved most was how Peyton and Rad became each other’s light. He lives in the darkness, but something about Peyton reaches him. And Peyton, even when everything gets more dangerous and sinister, refuses to be helpless. Her banter, her bravery, her fire, all of it made their relationship so addictive.

This book is dark, intense, and full of that obsessive “I will burn the world to keep you safe” energy. But underneath the stalking, danger, and secrets, there is also healing, loyalty, and a love that feels like survival.

The series world keeps getting deeper too, with the fight for freedom, the Grayson legacy, and all the tension surrounding what still needs to be won. I am so obsessed with these characters and this world.

I will never not love an obsessed man, and Rad took the cake and ate it.

I already had high expectations, not only because Branded was one of my top reads, but because the hints we got of Peyton and Rad in Branded had me salivating. And I wasn’t disappointed.

Peyton surprised me. From Reverie’s perspective we couldn’t have seen how much more than the typical rich college girl she was. But Peyton was brave, fearless, loyal and so loving. She had the crazy in her that only made her better. Her obsession with Rad’s green eyes from the moment she saw them gave me all the knowledge I needed to foresee her being as into him as he was her. She was selfless, would have laid down her life for not only Reverie, but Rad and his sister. She never once had anything but love and desire for Rad and his body, and her bleeding heart for his past only made me love her more.

And Raddison? My god how I love him, his pain, his scar and his dirty mouth, that when he utters words you know he means them. I truly couldn’t get over him counting down to the second how long he’s been observing Peyton. How he cared so much about her even after realizing who was her father. That even then, when he saw true fear in her eyes he’d move heaven and earth for her, but still gave her the fear she craved. His strong morals, how he didn’t let some people earn redemption because, it’s true, some don’t deserve it. How can I not love him?

Now now, I was a sucker for the age gap, the filth and the absolute dirty talk all throughout, but the fact that we, as the reader, had to earn that kiss? Oh I was the one yearning and pinning for it. I’m a sucker for the first kiss moment and Saffron killed it. I also adore that her MMCs seem to have an…oral fixation, that her taste is addictive, because who wouldn’t dream of an eater having you as breakfast for the rest of your life?

Okay, now that I’ve read it once, I’ll be screaming and crying for Mars and Ax books…even Brecken’s but guess what I’ll be doing while waiting? REREADING both Branded AND the absolute gem that is Roped.

I had to think about this one. Roped is definitely a lot heavier and more emotionally loaded than Branded. ( Saffron wrote this in a way where you’d be okay not having read Branded first, but if you haven’t yet… it completely worth reading it).

It deals with many issues, mental, emotional as well as physical. But also in a way that pulls you in, you feel what these characters are going through.

That being said… this is SAK we’re talking about. She knows how to keep you coming back . She’ll break your heart and you’ll beg her for more. Peyton and Rad will steal your heart. Mush it up just a bit, but hand it back better than before.

It’s a story about two slightly dented (not quite broken although they think they are) people, whose dark bits call to each other. The scary monster and damsel, the hunter and the prey, the stalker and his obsession, the phantom…and his Princess …

It’s a bit of a slow burn but in the sense, you still feel the heat from the embers although the fire doesn’t get going until you’ve put some time into it and stoked those flames. I honestly don’t know how to explain without giving spoilers 🤣. And I don’t want to do that. I’ll tell you this though. Rad is my new favourite bedroom potty mouth 🫦.

It’s a beautiful, crazy, smutty, wholesome mishmash of good people, broken bits, protective cowboys, plot twists, what family really is, healing, love… and ropes 😈.

A story about an unhinged masked cowboy who is utterly obsessed with his Princess, who he kidnaps and it just so happens to be that she’s apart of his families long time rivalry? Sign me up!

I adored Raddison, my dark, scarred and tortured cowboy. Learning about his past and seeing how everything unraveled just broke heart my heart. I love seeing his protectiveness of Peyton and how he always gave off “touch her and die” energy always. You know Rad was completely obsessed and consumed by Peyton as when their connection to one another was revealed he just couldn’t keep away from her.

I enjoyed delving into Peyton’s character and seeing her more than the “typical rich college girl” persona she was giving in BRANDED. She was extremely loyal, loving, protective and brave despite the environment living she was in. I loved how her obsession with Rad rivalled his, I mean her dancing through the windows because she knew he was watching?! Girrllll🤭

Raddison and Peyton were fate. Their souls ached and burned for one another’s, nothing could keep them apart. The chemistry between them was off the charts and I loved how Rad had such a dirty mouth despite his muteness. As usual the spice was SAK style which means the heat was turned on too extremely high!

Saffron, will always be a favourite author of mine who I always highly recommend everyone to pick up and read. Her books are angsty, poetically written with obsessive characters who just call to my soul and ROPED just did not disappoint! It was dark, delicious, angsty, full of twists and turns. I loved the tropes explored in this and the obsession between Peyton and her Phathom, Raddison. I highly recommend ROPED and I am eagerly waiting for Marsden and Axton books!🤎

This was certainly a rollercoaster ride! I truly didn't know from one minute to the next what was going to happen in this book, and it certainly kept me on my toes. I don't know in the end if that was a good thing or a bad thing 🫣, but it certainly made me feel things 😅... let's get into it!

This book as a whole was just a weird mixed bag. I have never hated a book and wanted to dnf it so much, but also liked parts of a book so much at the same time. It was so odd! I would say the middle of the book, when Peyton and Rad were alone doing their own thing was where the book shined. The beginning and the ending however, were really not good. The first 10% I thought about dnf'ing because everything was just really giving me the ick. The way Rad would describe things churned my stomach at times, and it was really hard to connect to either of the characters. Once we got some backstory on them I actually (for a moment at least 😅), really liked both of them.

Rad's backstory is so heartbreaking, and it was truly what I needed to see to actually make me not hate him completely. Peyton had a similarly sad back story, but she still overall felt quite childish.... because she still sort of was one. I had to remind myself on a number of occasions she's only 19, and then I would give her some grace. I usually love age gaps, but this one was really noticable because of how childish Peyton acted. When I was reminded of it, that's again where I would start to disconnect.

The plot, should have worked. The suspense of trying to figure out who was behind the bounty on Peyton's head was intriguing. But in the end, the big "reveal" was fairly lackluster and it really didn't feel all thought out. I also absolutely hate when conflict happens and we don't actually get to see it. After all this build up I wanted to see some fighting but nope, off page 🤷🏼‍♀️

Overall, I just don't think this was for me. I've seen other people rave about the book so maybe it's just not my taste. This is dark, morals are being thrown out the window, and spicy scenes that toe the line of slightly interesting and just (in my opinion) sort of gross. If I see the words "hole", "juicy", or anything blood related any time soon I very well might 🤢. Again that might be a me thing, but just giving everyone a warning! Add in a plot that needed a little more development, and the book just didn't work for me. But that's just my opinon! I'm not completely opposed to reading from this author in the future, but I'm going to take a beat before giving them another chance 🫣

I just finished Roped by Saffron Kent and I loved every single minute of this book.

If you're obsessed with possessive, morally gray men who are completely gone for their woman, this book needs to be on your TBR immediately.

Peyton didn't just fall for a monster—she turned a possessive monster into a man. And Radisson? This man is next-level obsessed. Not only does he stalk her, but he literally analyzes every man who gets too close to her. Every glance, every interaction, every touch. The jealousy is unmatched.

But what made me fall in love with him wasn't just the obsession. It was the way he validates Peyton. He never allows her to speak poorly about herself. Every flaw she sees, he sees as beautiful. Every insecurity she carries, he treats with care. He's the ultimate protective shadow daddy—watching, guarding, and loving her even when she doesn't believe she's worthy of it.

What makes Radisson such an unforgettable MMC is that beneath all the possessiveness, rage, and darkness, he's painfully human. He carries so much trauma, anger, and heartbreak. Kidnapping with Saffron’s unique brand of sexy angst, sign me up!

I didn’t know how much I needed a cowboy until Saffron wrote Radisson.

This story is the epic tale of Radisson and Peyton and even though we get some hints in the first book (Branded) of this series, I wasn’t prepared for the wreckage this was. And I state this as the best possible outcome I look forward to when reading a story.

Radisson is a hardened cowboy with a dire past, loneliness and bitterness are his only companions, until someone unexpected comes into his life. Once his learns that his obsession bears a name that is most painful to him it’s already too late. I love his possessive nature, I could spin poetry about his obsession and how impossible it was to resist him! Even when he drove me mad with his stubborn nature I kept falling for his addictive aura.

Peyton has her own ghosts and secrets haunting her, despite her harsh surroundings she keeps a positive attitude, her smiles hides her true desires and pain, yet, she stops at nothing to protect those she loves. The sexy cowboy stalker won’t stand a chance… I love her nurturing and selfless persona, her energy and resilience make her such an amazing heroine.

The story is told in dual POV, the prose carries the typical lyrical traits Saffron accomplishes so well, strong emotions, angst and spice make this journey a memorable one, cowboy life and enticing landscape paints a beautiful setting. A plot twist I expected and one I didn’t see coming were both appreciated and well balanced into the narrative.

The narrative has a wonderful bite and the author executes it wonderfully, Saffron’s evolution into this genre is spectacular, her growth truly amazing and it reflects into the stories she’s bringing us.

𝐑𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐝 is an interconnected standalone, the story takes palace after 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 (book 1) and although it can be read alone, I strongly recommend to read book one, you won’t be disappointed!

This has been one of my anticipated read of 2026. Branded, book 1, of the series is so good, I couldn’t wait for Peyton’s story.

I did not anticipate how this storyline would go. I love it so much. Rad is so possessive, damaged, worthy of so much but a lot has been taken from him. Peyton has two sides to her. One that she keeps hidden and the other she shows the world. This unlikely pairing works so well together.

When we learned more about Rad’s past, it made me look at him in a different light. In the beginning, I just saw him as psychotic and out for revenge with no care for anyone in the world. As we progressed, I had so much sympathy for him. That man went through so much.

Honestly, I figured Rad is a psychopath and has no redeeming qualities. Then you get halfway into the book and the real Rad comes out and you learn more. People aren’t born villains, they are made to be it. I love the progression from Rad being this tough hard person to a man who says the sweetest things and puts his heart out to Peyton. As much as he is crazy he goes and says the most romantic things. Well in my opinion. I might be just as crazy as Peyton for falling into it haha.

When Rad and Peyton are together there’s electricity, passion, fire, and the ultimate sweetness.

Saffron’s writing! The way that she writes Rad is poetic. The words he says. The love the pours out of him towards Peyton. You feel the immense love and passion that he has for her. He’s a broken man and with Peyton he’s alive for the first time ever. I love reading about a broken man who meets the woman who makes his life worth living again.

I didn’t see the story progressing the way that I did and I’m so for it. I love how Branded and Roped were similar and how the characters in both books found an ending where they made peace in everything that’s happened.

I want to preface this by saying, I have been a saffron Kent fan since the beginning. Like we go way back and I love her books. And I completely adored Branded. Unfortunately, Roped just missed the mark a little for me, which sucks, but I still had great time and a wild ride back at Rawhide Ranch with my favourite Phantom and his princess.

Like every great saffron Kent book, Roped had no shortage of an older, hot, morally grey man obsessed, a wild and fun girl who loves to push his buttons and tension and chemistry so hot that you’ll be fanning yourself the entire read.

Radisson and Peyton were really great together. I really think they balanced each other out. Peyton found her safety in Rad and she breathe life back into him, allowing him to fully live and love again. I love how he was a little mean to her at the beginning, but once he was all in, you could tell how fully immersed in his obsession of her he was. And how he treated her like a princess always, from knowing her favourite breakfast to learning how to tie her hair (unwell). I loved how she loved every part of Radisson, even the dark and scary parts and in turn taught him how to love those parts too.

I think my main issue with this book was the plot. Most of the first half of the book was spent rehashing details from Branded, which ok granted, was needed to see Rad’s and Peyton’s story developed. But after that, we barely see Reverie, who is supposed to be her best friend and SISTER, and all of a sudden Radisson has his own sister??? And they need to save her?? It kind of threw me off. Then, I found the ending a little rushed and like the enemies were just….dealt with? I don’t know I just wish we got more details.

I will definitely keep reading the series because I really want to read Mars and Haven’s story so I hope their book is up next!!!

The Graysons and Turners have years of history, resentment, and pain between them, and you can feel the weight of it in every decision these characters make. The suspense kept me glued to the pages, and while I had theories about what was happening, I still couldn't stop reading because I needed to know how everything would unfold.

Roped was a solid 4-star read for me. Honestly, this book had all the ingredients to be a 5-star read, but the writing style just didn’t fully connect with me the way I had hoped. That being said, I was still completely invested in the story and flew through it.

If you’re a fan of forbidden love, a princess-and-phantom dynamic, stalker vibes, old family feuds, and plenty of angst, this book delivers on all fronts. The tropes were definitely troping, and I mean that in the best way possible. Every time I thought I knew where things were headed, I found myself pulled deeper into the emotional tension and drama between the characters.

The chemistry was intense, the obsession was obsession-ing, and the push-and-pull between the main characters kept me hooked from beginning to end. I especially enjoyed how the long-standing family conflict added another layer of complexity to the romance and raised the stakes for everyone involved.

What kept this from being a 5-star read for me was the execution. The premise was fantastic, and there were so many moments that had me completely invested, but I found myself wanting a little more depth and polish in the writing to really elevate the story. The potential was absolutely there.

Overall, this was an entertaining, trope-filled romance that gave me exactly the kind of drama, tension, and emotional chaos I was looking for. And let’s be honest—who doesn’t love a hard-earned HEA after all that turmoil? If you enjoy forbidden romance with plenty of angst, obsession, and family drama, this is definitely worth picking up.

This was such a huge step up from Branded for me! I enjoyed the first book well enough, but Roped completely pulled me in from the beginning and kept me hooked.

Radisson ughhh this man was absolutely everything I wanted in a dark cowboy MMC. Quiet, broody, protective, completely obsessed with Peyton, and carrying a past that slowly unravels throughout the story. Add in the mask, and I was SOLD. He was easily my favorite part of this book.

Peyton was also a much stronger FMC for me. She has been through so much, but she never stopped fighting, and I loved watching her relationship with Radisson develop. They just fit together so naturally, and the slow burn made every moment of tension worth it.

This book has dark romance, cowboys, age gap, revenge, found family, a stalker, mystery, suspense, rope play, and plenty of spice. The mystery kept me guessing for a good portion of the book, which made it even harder to put down. I was much more invested in both the romance and the overall plot this time around.

One thing I will say is that I definitely recommend reading Branded first. While I enjoyed Roped much more, the books are connected, and you'll appreciate the characters and relationships a lot more if you read them in order.

And can we please get Axton's book next? I need it immediately.

If you enjoy dark cowboy romances with a possessive, protective MMC, plenty of tension, and a romance that feels earned, I definitely recommend picking this one up!

this dark cowboy romance gave EVERYTHING it needed to give. I’ve been *very impatiently* waiting on Peyton and Rad’s book ever since book one where we get the briefest crumbs of their little stalker romance and ahhhh they were worth the wait.

I love Peyton Turner downnnnnn! ugh this girl was everything to me. After her best friend goes missing, she gets an inkling that that perhaps the masked man who’s been following her around, and whom she’s been secretly performing for in her room at night (yeah she’s an icon), she comes up with a plan to lure him out and demand answers. that plan obviously backfires and that’s how our queen ends up kidnapped and taken to Rawhide ranch hehe

“Think you know that one, given I ate it three times last night.”

were there times where I wanted to throat punch Raddison and feed him to his wolves? yeah. would I still immediately sign up to take Peyton’s place in his bed? also yeah. I fear it’s just part of the dark romance charm, which I am so here for.

this man was FINEEE. his backstory is so tragic my heart broke. I loved the romance, the buildup to their iconic first kiss, the way he called her darlin’ and the way he called her princess (the sweet way when he was done being a jerk about it lol) and the way these two truly felt like they were just meant to be. their relationship felt so developed and I loved their talks and how deep their conversations actually were.

Roped was a dark, intense, and completely absorbing read. Saffron A. Kent once again proved why she’s one of my favorite authors when it comes to writing obsessive romances filled with tension and powerful emotions.

What I enjoyed most was the dynamic between Peyton and Rad. From the very beginning, there’s a dangerous attraction between them that makes it impossible to stop reading. Rad is mysterious, obsessive, and downright frightening at times, but he also has a vulnerability that slowly comes to the surface. Peyton, on the other hand, isn’t easily intimidated, and I loved how she constantly challenges Rad, even when she knows she’s playing with fire.

The setting was also one of my favorite aspects of the book. The entire time, I found myself imagining what it would be like to be in Yellowstone, surrounded by ranches, cowboys, mountains, and endless landscapes. The atmosphere adds a wild, isolated feeling that perfectly complements the story and makes the tension even more intense.

I also really enjoyed the mystery surrounding Rad. The story maintains a constant sense of danger, with secrets, unexpected twists, and an unsettling atmosphere that kept me glued to the pages. As Peyton uncovers more about him and the events unfolding around her, the plot becomes increasingly addictive.

But what truly made this story stand out for me was how Peyton and Rad ultimately become each other’s safe place. Beneath all the darkness, obsession, and chaos, there’s a deeply emotional connection that left me completely invested in them as a couple.

This left me wondering...what in the Yellowstone-meets-dark-romance fever dream did I just read?!

Book two picks up on the same timeline as when Branded started except this time, we're getting Peyton and Rad's story. These two are just as unhinged as Reverie and Arsen from Branded, so don't worry about any shortage of unhinge-ness.

One thing I did think is funny is that Rad is huge. And when I say huge, I mean the author reminds us approximately every three pages. I couldn't stop picturing Johnny Bravo in a Stetson, and honestly? Nothing will convince me otherwise.

The stalker romance vibes were vibing. The tension was tensioning. The obsession? Off the charts.
Did I devour it anyway? Yes.

This book is dark, twisted, spicy, and packed with enough trigger warnings to fill a small notebook.
Once again, in the middle of all the dark romance shenanigans, there is a whole web of a story unraveling that I didn't expect, and I wanted to keep reading to see how all of this was going to wrap up.

If you enjoy possessive, morally gray cowboys who desperately need therapy, and stories that make you repeatedly say, "Girl, no," while turning the page faster, this series continues to deliver.

Once again: read the trigger warnings.

There's not much else I can say. You'll know if you like this kind of read or not. It's not going to win awards, but it will probably shock you lol.

A masked, tortured, stalker cowboy MMC!? What’s not to love?! I absolutely ate this up and enjoyed it even more than Branded.

While this book overlaps with some parts of Branded’s timeline, it can still be read as a standalone. I would recommend reading Branded first though, for better context on the Grayson family and their feud with the Turner family.

It’s dual POVs of the main characters, Radisson and Peyton, and there are some great tropes like, a man obsessed, an age gap, captor x captive, forced proximity, and a stalker and dark romance.

The premise was dark, steamy, and unhinged. Kent truly knows how to write MMCs who are obsessed and would do anything for their girl. The western theme, rivalry, and revenge aspects were so intriguing and captivating. There were also so many steamy, intense, and passionate moments.

The romance was absolutely captivating. The passion, obsession, and devotion between these two was incredible. Their dynamic was pure cat and mouse, with so much tension. While their relationship was incredibly steamy, what I loved most was how they became each other’s light. There were moments that were so tender and heartfelt as well.

The main conflict and suspense behind who put out the bounty were interesting as well. There were so many layers of betrayal and secrets that kept me invested from beginning to end.

Overall, this was an enjoyable dark cowboy romance with a passionate and unhinged romance.
