I was so excited to be chosen as an ARC reader for this story. Jack and Elle had great banter throughout the entire book. Seeing Jack's heart literally grow like the grinch was so heartwarming. Also the slow burn and the tension between these enemies to lovers was SO WELL done! Grumpmas was the perfect holiday read and I loved every bit of it!

Pretty damn awful

I don’t think I would call this the worst waste of time I’ve spent this year but it definitely makes the top ten. Noelle and Jack spent way too much time hating each other for it to be believable that a romance could ever work. And what was up with thy weird AF first time with the ax handle? I really should have DNFd at that point but by then I was so emotionally invested despite my resentment of every typo (and there were quite a few).

So to summarize, a weak plot between main characters that hated one another, weird sexual dynamics, and bad editing. Yep, that definitely earns this author a spot on my “no fly” list.

Y’all… my first ever ARC and I’m absolutely obsessed. This was the perfect read to kick off the Christmas season—because who doesn’t love a little holiday magic mixed with smut?

This spicy novella delivered so many of my favorite tropes: enemies to lovers, age gap, and yes… dad’s best friend. The dynamic between Noelle, our Christmas-obsessed FMC, and Jack, the grumpy neighbor who loathes everything holly and jolly, was so much fun to read. Their banter? Perfect. Their chemistry? Even better.

And the axe scene? IYKYK.
Just trust me… it was so good.

Watching Noelle slowly chip away at Jack’s frozen heart had me turning the pages faster than I could sip my peppermint mocha. If you love short, spicy holiday romances that bring both heat and sweetness, this one needs to be on your December TBR.

Grab it December 16th and find out if she can melt the ice around his heart!

Rcvd an ARC from the author. What a cute story that involves a lumberjack looking grinch and his bffs daughter as his Christmas loving neighbour.

Jack hates Christmas and he enjoys his single grouchiness. what he doesn't like is his neighbour Ellie. shes too cheery for his liking. Noelle aka Ellie can't stand Jack, he's just so arrogant and sexy that it pisses her off. Her daughter Faith is the light of her life and when she needs help one day her dad suggest Jack to help...like she'd leave an 8 year old with him. Jack's not into kids but for his bff he'll hang out with the little ankle biter but what he didn't count on was her little sassiness to melt his old grumpy heart. Noelle sees a different side of Jack, the caring fun side but maybe his grouchiness is all an act. She shouldn't want him but damn it ahe does. Jack also wants Ellie but she is Gabes daughter and he wants to keep his head attached. Christmas tree hunting leads to a small tyrst both wanting more. What's thr worst thing that can happen? after all it is Christmas 🎄

I received an ARC from the author, and what a story it was!
Jack Timber hates Christmas, but his neighbor Noelle is full of Christmas Spirit.
Noelle hates Jack, loathes his entire existence.
Grumpmas has so many of my favorite tropes! Enemies to lovers, age gap… Mr. Timber is Noelle’s dad’s best friend.
The banter between Noelle and Jack? Amazing
The sexual chemistry between Noelle and Jack? Off the damn charts.

The Axe scene… wow. IYKYK.

I really enjoyed how Noelle and her daughter Faith really chipped away at Jacks grumpiness. The way Jack was with Faith was just truly heartwarming! We love a burly man who’s great with kids…

I can’t wait for book two in the Cozy Court series!

ARC review!
5/5 ⭐️
Huge thank you to Breanne for letting me dive into this holiday treat early! I adored every moment of this book. If you’re a fan of Lucy Score or Meghan Quinn, you’re truly getting the best of both worlds here, the writing is chef’s kiss 🤌🏼🤌🏼

We’ve got a grumpy lumberjack, enemies to lovers, an age gap, and a delicious dad’s best friend setup that hits every single spot with Jack and Noelle. Little Elle - Jack’s best friend’s daughter is a single mom who goes all out for Christmas, while Jack is basically a total Grinch 🤣

The banter, humor, heart, holiday magic, chemistry, and heat are perfectly balanced. Noelle’s daughter, Faith, forms such a sweet connection with Jack, and watching his lonely world slowly warm up because of those two is absolutely priceless. The slow burn tension is spot on…and that axe and tree scenes? Say less 😏

Grab your copy on the 7th(paperback) or 16th(kindle) to see whether Elle can melt Jack’s heart for good.

'His upper lip twitched, and I wanted him to lose control. To let the beast out that I knew he’d caged away inside. I wanted him to destroy me, leaving me no choice but to let him own me, claim me, and devour me whole.'

I received this as an ARC and leaving my honest review.

Grumpmas by Breanne Bergie is a wonderfully sweet and spicy Christmas romance that is topping my recommend list this year. I absolutely loved the grumpy sunshine of this book! The feelings that were unearthed while reading were extremely strong! I was laughing and giggling and sobbing at moments in this story. And the spice! Phew it was delicious to say the least! This is the first work of Breanne that I have read and already bought some more of her books because I enjoyed reading this so much. Highly recommend this Christmastime book!

I am in a bit of a slump, so it took me a ridiculous amout of time to actually finished this one.

However, I can definitely see it being a quick, cozy read, perfect for the Christmas season.

I really enjoyed the storyline, and the MC & FC chemistry and banter.
I have never had any problems with age gaps before, however the way the MC talked about his bestfriend's daughter when she was only 19 years old definitely give me the ick.

I LOVEEED his relationship with the FC daughter, the concert scene got me tearing up for sure.

While some scenes felt a little repetitive and slow when others felt a bit rushed.

Overall it was a cute read, and if you are a Grinch fan I am sure you will want to add it your TBR.

One of my first ARC reads and I'm in love! With a grouchy lumberjack Billionaire named Jack that is 😏 Loved the tension between Jack and Noelle, loved that Faith was able to make that grinch heart grow two sizes. I'm happy for them enjoying their spice but I will be steering clear of axes for a while 😅

I received an ARC for this book and I was so excited only to be utterly disappointed. I don’t even know what to say about it- I pushed on just to get it done. Age gap is not what bothers me- it’s the gross pet names the MMC called the MFC and where did all the hostility and hatred come from? He’s her dad’s best friend and it could’ve been done so much better.

Classic Christmas vibe story with a touch of the grinch.

Noelle is a single mom who loves her daughter more than anything. Christmas is Faith and Noelle’s favorite time of the year. She stands her ground when it comes to what’s best her and her daughter.

Jack is the grumpy older neighbor who hates Christmas and all the cheer that goes along with it. He is his neighbors dad’s best friend, and he can’t stand his neighbor.

Thanks to Noelle and Faith, Jack ends up loving Christmas and the Christmas spirit!

Their love was forbidden but love always prevails!

- back & forth banter
- Faiths sassy loving attitude
- Classic Christmas vibes
- single mom
- single dog dad
- neighbors

The author does a great job at making Jack a grumpy grumpy man 😂 out of all the holiday books I've read so far he by far wins the award for biggest grinch.

And Noelle! She is sassy, fierce, and stands her ground!

Jack the billionaire and Noelle (Jacks best friends daughter) are neighbors and they despise each other. The banter in this was freaking hilarious and the author does a fantastic job with their holiday feud! And Faith, Noelle's daughter 😍😍 what a cutie!!! Her character is so sweet and absolutely precious.
This was such a fun Christmas read. In the beginning they really really didn't get along. Then his heart grows a few sizes just like the Grinch 🥹 the tension, angst, push and pull, and the entire premise of this story is absolutely perfect for this holiday season. Highly reccomend.

Grumpmas, Book 1 of the Cozy Court series, was about 50-year-old Jack Timber, a successful architect, and 2-year-old Noelle "Elle" Evergreen, the owner of Evergreen Toys, the family-owned toy shop, and a single mother to an 8-year-old daughter named Faith.

Jack first met Noelle while saving her from drowning when she was 19 years old, and they took an instant dislike of each other. Years later, they ended up being neighbors when Noelle and her daughter Faith moved into the house next to his. When her nanny quit with only a few hours' notice, Noelle didn't know what to do. Normally, her parents would fill in and watch their granddaughter, but they had gone south for vacation, and she couldn't reach her former fiancé (Faith's father). When she called to tell her parents what happened, Noelle's father took the initiative and asked Jack (who happened to be his BFF) to watch her daughter while she went to work.

The relationship between Elle and Jack progressed slowly, with more barbed words exchanged between them than anything pleasant. They were enemies for far too long, and when their feelings finally started changing from hate was something so surreal that it felt manufactured.

The story had too much push/pull and not enough spiciness or relationship building between the two main characters. There was no explanation as to why they were hostile towards one another for years, and none again when they pulled a 180* turn to being in love.

While it seemed like they were both well-developed, there were too many juvenile reactions that ruled the emotions of the two main characters and not enough time for any true growth to take place. Sure, the book was 42 chapters long, but the animosity lasted for more than 85% of the story, while the development of their love took place in less than 15%, especially when the MMC did a second 180* turn and harshly broke the heart of not only the FMC, but that of her daughter as well. Then the author wrapped it up too quickly to be a pleasant ending for this particular reader.

There were too many unresolved issues for the book to have received anything higher than a three-star rating. I just couldn't justify giving it anything more. Was it a good book? Yes. However, it fell flat on its face too many times to be worthy of higher praise.

Grumpmas
by Breanne Bergie is an absolute delight for anyone who adores a grumpy-sunshine romance, especially when wrapped in the warm, sparkling glow of the Christmas season. Centered on Elle, a bright and spirited heroine, and Jack, the classic grumpy yet irresistibly charming hero, this story captures the magic of opposites attracting against the backdrop of festive cheer.

What makes Grumpmas so captivating is Bergie’s masterful blend of humor, heart, and holiday spirit. Elle’s sunny disposition perfectly offsets Jack’s gruff exterior, creating a dynamic that’s both engaging and heartwarming. Their interactions crackle with witty banter and emotional depth, making their journey from clash to connection utterly believable and thoroughly enjoyable.

Beyond the irresistible romance, the novel fills the pages with the essence of Christmas—from cozy decorations and festive traditions to that unmistakable feeling of hope and renewal the season brings. Bergie’s prose is accessible yet evocative, painting scenes that feel both intimate and immersive without ever slowing the story’s delightful pace.

The pacing and character development stand out as well-crafted. Elle’s optimism isn’t saccharine but genuine, and Jack’s layered personality reveals a vulnerability beneath the grumpiness that invites readers to root for him wholeheartedly. Their growth feels earned and satisfying, enhancing the emotional payoff of the story.

In a sea of holiday romances, Grumpmas shines brightly as a feel-good, fun, and tender read that anyone who enjoys heartfelt Christmas stories with a twist of sass and warmth will savor. It’s the ideal pick for curling up with a cup of cocoa and sinking into a story where love, laughter, and a bit of holiday magic triumph.

If you’re looking for a book that embodies the spirit of Christmas while delivering a truly charming grumpy-sunshine romance, Grumpmas by Breanne Bergie should be on your list. It leaves you with a smile long after the last page, reminding us all why this season is so special and why sometimes, love sneaks in when you least expect it.

Grumpmas is an addictive holiday romance filled with tension, chemistry, and the perfect mix of grumpy-meets-sunshine charm. I absolutely loved this book.

The story follows Noelle, a hardworking single mom and business owner who’s juggling far too much, especially after her nanny quits without warning. With her parents out of town and no childcare, she’s desperate. Enter Jack: her dad’s best friend, notorious bachelor, serial dater, and the man she absolutely cannot stand. He overhears her crisis call, and before Noelle can protest, her dad volunteers Jack to help watch her eight-year-old daughter, Faith.

What starts as forced proximity turns into something far deeper. Jack quickly becomes smitten with Faith, wanting to protect her in ways her own father never has. As he keeps showing up helping Faith rehearse for her play, spending time with them both, and turning the charm on full blast. Noelle begins seeing a completely different side of him. Their banter shifts into flirtation, their tension becomes impossible to ignore, and when they finally give in, let’s just say that axe handle scene alone is worth the read.

Feelings grow fast and real, but everything comes crashing down when Noelle’s ex confronts Jack. Shaken, Jack pulls away, ghosting both Noelle and Faith. When Noelle finally seeks him out, the truth erupts, followed by a kiss caught on her parents’ security cameras. Her confession of love to her dad is met with Jack’s heartbreaking denial, pushing Noelle away even further. He even stages a scene with another woman to convince her it’s truly over.

But Jack’s grumpy heart doesn’t stay foolish for long. Once he realizes what he’s thrown away, he does everything in his power to earn back Noelle’s trust and fight for the family he never knew he wanted.

This story serves up age gap tension, forbidden romance, heart-squeezing moments, and scorching chemistry from beginning to end. It’s cozy, messy, emotional, and undeniably spicy. A perfect holiday romance with characters you can’t help but root for.

I was very fortunate to be selected to read an ARC of an upcoming novel being released by Breanne Bergie!

Grumpmas, a Christmas enemies to lovers romance story, follows an older man, Jack, aka Mr. Timber, the grouchy lumberjack personality (and man does he sound yummy) and Noelle, the best friends daughter/ the kind loves everything Christmas spirit personality and her 8 year old daughter! The two main characters of the adventure, have known each other for years! The two characters are written with banter in their personalities and you can sense the “sparkle” between them in the way they interact!

The author, Breanne Bergie, does a great job at introducing the characters, creating an engaging plot, with love, laughter, tears and she also left a few wtf moments! Oh, and we can’t forget she did a great job adding just enough spice to make the book a little “extra”! This allows the reader to continue to “want” to read more to know what will happen next!
The author does an amazing job creating that cozy “Christmas” feel in the writing, warmth, decorations, holiday events and she makes you feel like you are there, during those moments!

I did find at times the story seemed a slight repetitive at moments and unfortunately, left me with predictive thoughts to what would come next, which did not ruin the story.
The story is in dual point of views, with alternating chapters between the two main characters. Despite the story being a great romantic story, I felt the ending was a little rushed and could of been a chapter or two more to add some potential details but it was still super good as it is!

Would I recommend this to other readers? Yes
Is it worth being re-read? Yes
Will I continue to read, discover and learn more about the authors writing and books? Definitely!

So if you love Christmas, enemies to lovers, age gap, single mom romance stories then take a moment and check out Grumpmas when it releases December 16th!

Review of advance copy received from Author
December 13, 2025
I was so excited to receive an advanced copy from the author! It is a very cute story about a grinch-like lumberjack and his cheery Christmas loving neighbor who also happens to be his best friend's daughter.

Jack Timber is a billionaire architect who is perfectly content being a grinch. He hates everything about the holidays, but what he hates most is seeing the cheesy decorations and festivity next door. Noelle Evergreen loves Christmas and celebrating with her 8 year old daughter, but she is tired of the grump next door. When Noelle runs into a situation where she needs help with her daughter, Faith, her dad suggests that she ask Jack. Jack overhears Gabe and agrees to help, but he didn't count on the sassy kiddo making her way under his skin and melting his heart. The love-hate relationship between Noelle and Jack sparks and they both have to decide if the age gap and her father will keep them apart.

I really liked Noelle's character. I felt so bad for her and Faith having to deal with her co-parent who barely seemed to show up for his parenting time. The banter between Jack and Elle was so much fun and I loved Faith's sassiness especially with Jack. The interactions between Jack and Faith were completely adorable. I loved the way that he stepped up to help her and wasn't afraid to stand up to her father. I did get a little bit frustrated with Jack at times because I got more of a "being mean to Noelle" vibe than a general grumpiness or grinch-like attitude sometimes. It felt a little bit like he was mad at himself for being attracted to her and is mean to her to try to distance himself. Once it got past the initial grumpiness, I really enjoyed their banter and their interactions, but it did make it a bit difficult for me to get into it. Overall, this is a cute quick read that is perfect for the holiday season with plenty of spice!

I received a free advance copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Grumpmas is the kind of cozy, small-town holiday romance that wraps you up like a warm blanket and refuses to let go. Breanne Bergie delivers a sweet, lightly spicy, heartfelt story built on neighborly tension, unexpected caretaking, and the slow, delicious softening of one very grumpy lumberjack.

Noelle and Jack start out as the sort of neighbors who don’t exactly exchange Christmas cookies—or even pleasantries. Their connection runs only through Noelle’s dad, who happens to be Jack’s best friend. So when Noelle suddenly needs a last-minute babysitter for her daughter, Faith, it feels almost absurd that her dad suggests Jack of all people. But in true holiday-romance fashion, the grump agrees.

And that’s where everything changes.

Jack’s rough-around-the-edges exterior doesn’t stand a chance against Faith’s sweetness. Watching him melt for her, little by little, is one of the most endearing parts of the book. Bergie captures the magic of found family and unexpected bonds so well—you can practically feel Jack’s heart growing three sizes with each scene.

As for Noelle, she quickly discovers there’s far more to her neighbor than his curt nods and lumberjack scowl. Jack shows up for Faith again and again, putting her needs—and Noelle’s—before anything else. Whether he’s babysitting, lending support, or helping them hunt down the perfect Christmas tree, Jack proves that the grumpy exterior hides a steady, gentle, quietly devoted man. And the “tree-cutting expertise” he brings? Let’s just say he’s experienced in more than holiday traditions.

Their chemistry simmers as they move from begrudging acquaintances to partners who can’t help falling for each other. The romance is tender, warm, and full of that swoony Christmas magic that makes you root for them from start to finish.

If you love grumpy/sunshine energy, single-parent sweetness, and holiday romances where the hero falls hard for both mother and child, Grumpmas will be your new favorite festive read. It's charming, heartfelt, and full of the kind of moments that make you believe in love showing up exactly when you least expect it.

I was very lucky to be selected an ARC reader of this book. I've never done anything like this so it's all new to me. As my first ARC read it was amazing!

Grumpmas is absolutely a wonderful love/hate RomCom. This book has it all! First I was absolutely thrilled that Jack's inner Christmas spirit is the Grinch. I love the Grinch so having Jack be the "Grinch" in this book was absolutely wonderful and he had his own Max too, named Chip. Then Elle being the total opposite and over the top traditional Christmas spirit is great!

They had an incredible banter throughout the entire book. They each wanted to keep despising each other. But, they started falling hard and kinda fast.

I live in the south so we don't see much snow. When we do we sure as heck don't know how to do most anything. When they went out in the woods searching for the perfect Christmas tree for Faith, I never knew it would end up with a snow bed sexual encounter. Being a Southerner all I could think was how cold and uncomfortable that had to be. Then a few days later she took "lessons" on his axe.... Oh dear Lord! I will never see an axe the same way again. And is it wrong it kinda made me a little envious. However, again my southern blood isn't sure about all this outside skin exposure. But, I was there for it and enjoyed it all.

I love the age doesn't matter outlook. My husband is older than me and it definitely has it's advantages in more way than one 😉.

Also, Faith's biological dad was a total jerk and totally like so many fathers out there he was your typical no count Dad.

Overall, this book was great. I wonder if Sage is the main character in book 2. Guess we will wait and see.

Oh and I love how everyone lives on the same street. Seems so Cozy and Charming.

OMG!!! I was fortunate to be able to read Grumpmas early and I fell in love immediately with the fun Christmas vibe and the oh so intriguing tension between Jack and Noelle (aka Jack's little Elle).

Jack's grumpiness is quite the match for the upbeat, Christmas loving, cheerful Elle but that doesn't stop her. Elle and her daughter Faith are determined to deck the halls and neighborhood with all things Christmas cheer but Jack has other plans. With his all green grumpiness and his hatred for his way too cheerful neighbor Elle he's determined to knock that cheer down a notch or two but Elle's daughter, little Faith, has different plans. She worms her sweet little self right into the Jack's cold heart and becomes the kiddo he can't help but love. The tension with the love-hate relationship between Jack and Elle can't survive Faith's determination. Faith and her sidekick, Jack's dog Chip, are totally the top cheerleaders for Team Elle.

But when the heat is on between Jack and Elle it is blazing. Torn between their age gap and the fact that Elle is his best friend's daughter the undeniable attraction for Elle puts Jack in a position to decide what his next steps will be. Can he walk away and break Elle and Faith's hearts or embrace it with all the Christmas cheer that comes along with it?

This is my first Christmas read and I absolutely fell in love with it! (And now I will never look at an Axe the same again).

I totally recommend this book but be prepared that when you pick it up you won't want to put it down. If you want a Christmas feel good, make you literally laugh out loud and say "Oh My" when the smut hits read. Grumpmas is for you!!!
