sweet, spicy, well rounded alien romance novella

Open door romance
This Novella has an intriguing premise wherein the alien society essentially needs to pay people to cuddle them to maintain their body temperature, or they’ll die. It was a fun, quick read, but I’d love to see this premise in a longer format, more fleshed out, ie: can the warmth keepers only come from earth, is this situation affecting both genders? Why not relocate? Maybe my answers will get answered as I read on.
Our Main characters are Cold, Grumpy Male alien Karveth meets the 7th woman contracted to keep him alive, I wouldn’t necessarily qualify her as “sunshiny”, more of a “I’m calling you on your bull” kind of woman combined with a healthy amount of empathy. I wouldn’t mind this in a longer format to go a little deeper on the connection and relationships, but it was a great novella. I highly recommend this quick, spicy, sweet, engaging, exciting novella and will definitely be looking forward to reading more.

This Book Should Get Better Ratings
Thankfully I had already read another series by this author and knew her to be a solidly good writer so I was puzzled by the low ratings that were given to this book. I supposed that maybe it was due to editing or continuity errors but went ahead and decided to take a chance on the book anyway. Turns out nothing was wrong outside one or two issues on that score. I also found the book to be, frankly, charming as well as interesting. The basic premise of Cassie (human) meeting up with Karveth (Varthoki alien) was new and different as far as space romantasies go only serving for me to delve deeper into the structure behind the Varthoki need for humans. Anyway, I found little to no reason for the low ratings on this book and was very glad I read it. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series!

This was a fast little bullet of a story. At first I was confused bc the leading guy said his mother died when he was young. And then later it was told she had 5 sons and he was in his 20s when she passed. The nite is 60 hours....mind blown! I loved the tight knit fierceness of the whole family and how each son had a different personality well written. I loved that we got an epilogue and a conclusion of the happy couple. Do I wanna keep.reading? Maybe not...unsure.

3.75 stars rounded up. This was a fast paced kind of sweet little story. Not a whole lot of character development, more communication than development. This is a really interesting alien romance story. The reason why humans are needed is really unique and I wish we had been told what it was they did before humans stumbled across the stars. As an introduction to a universe, this was cool and I will definitely be continuing with these stories!

It started with an interesting premise and died by the 40th page with a repetitive narration. I could easily skip 5-10 pages and woulnd't miss anything of interest.
