The Enforcers

Rate this book
Five years ago, I was found outside the Council District’s barrier with no memory of what came before. Now I’m trapped inside it, angry, confused, and drowning in half-truths.

I don’t know who I can trust, but I can’t ignore what I feel.

The bond between us is undeniable, an ache that never stops, but how can I trust them after what they hid? They knew what I was to them. They felt the same pull and said nothing, letting me believe my emotions were spiralling out of control, letting me think something was wrong with me.

I try to keep them out, to push them away, but they’re not willing to go down without a fight.

And when the enforcers start revealing their truths, their pasts, and the tragedies that shaped them, everything begins to shift. The more I learn, the more I understand their choices, their loyalty to each other, and the strange, impossible way I fit into their fractured unit.

We’re still hunting the Green Cloaks, still chasing down the pieces of my past as we try to mend the cracks between us.

But none of us is ready for the truths we uncover. Not when the truth hurts them more than it ever hurt me.

Absolutely nothing happens until the 60% mark. Mainly just relationship stuff. No plot other than that. She didn't care to learn why her rune is on her, why her memories are gone, where that little girl went, who those people were who attacked the club. She barely cared about any of it. All she was worried about was her bonded and making them grovel. It definitely could've been edited down to 300 pages and we would get everything we needed.

Don’t hate me !!!!

Book one had me hoooooked I mean I couldn’t put it down. I love a medium to fast pace book. Everything was just right and it flowed so well. The lead fmc was so awesome. This book was so different the fmc became a victim out of no where and stuff in book one she confessed to liking she threw back the guys faces like weapons, like she wasn’t enjoying it. The only character in book one she had a true issue with was Kane.
*SPOILER IN COMING*
This book was soooo slow and when she said let’s be “friends” I just stopped. First she blames them because she ran from the house they placed her in for safety and kept blaming her torture on them. Then she claims they were the reason for her confusion but never places blame on the “family” that actually lied to her. For them she made excuses. Lastly she caused them pain then felt bad but kept going because they deserved it smh.

This book felt like a reset and I had nor have any interest in that plot.
I’m sure I’ll revisit it and skim seeing as it takes a year and a half for the next book. I’m just so disappointed.

EASILY 5⭐️’s 😭❤️‍🔥 THIS WAS SO FREAKING GOOD. A new favorite! Wow wow wow. The growth from book 1 was really felt.

The emotional depth and growth we get from the characters in this book is PERFECTION. And these characters are EVERYTHING. I love that we get all of their POV’s! I fell in love with them so hard in this book 😭

I’m devastated that’s it’s over!!!! These books have consumed me for the passed 2 weeks. The ending truly made me feel like I was feeling how they were feeling. I CANNOT WAIT to read book 3 😭

🚨I also just have to applaud how well these books are written! I think this author is a new indi-author if I’m not mistaken? And there are truly ever any misspellings, etc. it’s so easy to follow and get into! It’s so well done!

Highly Entertained - Definitely give The Enforcers a chance, just don’t expect the same as The Inferno . . .

The Noteworthy Highlight: This is one why choose romance where I wouldn’t be able to choose between the MMCs. Kane, Ezekial, Julien, and Sai all had their moments. And I loved that about this series.

The Gist (minor spoilers for what to expect but no specific revelations): This mammoth of a book is quite different from The Inferno, but just as worthy of a 5 star rating, particularly if you like big books focused on the romantic elements, meaning the relationship dynamics in a polyamory romance. The Inferno was mostly told from the Jasmine’s POV and every chapter was filled with action that moved the overall plot forward, whereas this second book contains POVs from all five main characters - FMMMM and focuses on their relationship as well as the backstory of all four MMCs. There is a lot of dialog, but very little action or plot develops in the first half of the book. I wouldn’t call it a page turner, more of a rather large meal to digest and savor.

There are some delicious unexpected twists in the second half of the book and lots of spice. The ending didn’t have the major cliffhanger that I thought it was leading up to, so it both happily surprised and at the same time disappointed me in that regards. Still, I wanted to keep reading, and that is one of the best compliments I can give a book. There are still many unanswered questions, and I am wondering what type of book we will get in the third installment of Jasmine’s story. Whatever it is, I am definitely here for it.

The Speculation: The way this book is written it feels like Kacey might get her own book or book series, told in the same timeline as Jasmine’s story but from Kacey’s POV.

If I could make this review about ten pages long I would. 🥺

Book 2 of the series, The Enforcers was a five star read for me. With how book one ended, book two picks up right after.

Book two for me had more emotion, drive for our FMC, and also her four men. And can I just say having the multiple point of views was the cherry on top of the cake.

I loved seeing in the minds of all four male characters. How they were all connected to each other and also their bonded Jasmine. It’s so hard to choose a favorite, which I can see why Jas can’t with these men. Haha.

The storyline had a very good flow that was very well and easily to follow along with. You do have to read book one to be able to understand what is going on, but trust me, you’ll wanna read both these books.

I love the paranormal aspect of it all, the world they lived in and the descriptions of things around them, I LOVE the detailing of the spicy scenes and how they draw you in.

I love how each character had their own personality, by the way they spoke, their stories, their past, and their traumas. I think that’s why it’s so hard to choose between the four men because each man has their own way of drawing you in.

I think I said I love this book enough to help you want to read this book. It is DEFINITELY my favorite book series and a re read that will happen over and over again.

“Just a little more”

The descent has never been so satisfying. Each page builds tension; the Queen of Yearning, M. K. Williams, has truly delivered something incredible with this instalment.

The characters are deeper, richer, more unhinged and more feral than ever. The plot development and exquisite world-building perfectly capture each character’s story arc, unlocking mysteries and forging deeper connections. All five characters deserve a place in your heart - and on your shelf.

Jasmine, caught between light and dark, now has 4 MMCs waiting on her every move…until the darkness pulls her, them and the readers into a spicy inferno that no one will want to leave. And in trademark fashion, M.K. excels at endings 😏 Until book 3…!

I love these characters so much!

I received an arc copy and this is my honest review, the book is chunky but oh soooo worth it I wish it was longer (sorry mk😘)

I love these guys so much the character development, the drama, the groveling, the spice!!! Sai is still my ride or die but Zeek stepped it up! I need way more feral moments and you KNOW what we all want in book 3 😏

I liked this a lot, but the main plot from the first book went on the back burner to focus on interpersonal relationships. Very little moved forward as far as the fantasy story goes, which was pretty disappointing since that was the main reason I enjoyed book 1 so much. However, if you read the first book and wanted things to move along with the harem, you will definitely get that with this book. It still makes the slow burn work, but we get a lot of growth, backstories, etc. By the end, I was really frustrated for something to move forward with the Green Cloaks and/or friends. Unfortunately, I found the ending a bit meh.

I'll probably edit this later. I'm super tired and writing is hard right now.

Even better than the 1st!

The moment I started reading this series I was hooked. My only disappointment was having to wait for the next installment. Jumping into this world was exhilarating and made me go through a wide range of emotions ending on a crazy cliffhanger.
I read alot and, to be honest, had moved on to other series awaiting the next book. Time passed until finally I stumbled upon book 2, and couldn't be more thrilled. Learning back stories, and having a taste of each of their perspectives was EVERYTHING. Not to mention the SPICE. Well worth the read, even knowing I must wait for the final book! Undoubtedly, one of my favorite series and one of the only ones I am sure to read again!

holy intense slow burn. but it kept you going? it is not for the faint of heart. i’m talking second book, not having sex til page 750.. i meant SLOW. but the banter was somehow so much yet not too much? everything was balanced. i did feel as though we had lost the plot of the first? but the chemistry was so good it didn’t matter? i think if you committed and read this it would be worth it, but i would never recommend.

plot wise nothing happens but I loved it anyways.
Some things that irritated me:

-sleepwalking. So random and so forcefully placed to fit the narrative. felt fake

-Sai could remove 2 marks by himself before but the third one, she needs to fuck it off (literally). how convenient

-bathtub scene. so dramatic. She only remembers 5 years of her life and she's only ever had showers. it's not that deep

-too often it was mentioned that they have shared women. why. I hope when she remembers her past it turns out she was freaky and will tell them all about it. I need them jealous

-too much spicy scenes at the end. it was so rushed that it lost its value. yearning>spice

-she let them off the hook too quickly. I wanted more of the tension and their grovelling

-also how do you buy a star?

Ok, so this book is a 3.5 ⭐️ for me could have easily been a four.
The only issue i have with this book is that it was unnecessarily long, I understand if there was more plot however it heavily focuses on the characters and their growth.
Don’t get me wrong i absolutely adore the main characters in this series, Sai is easily my favourite with his quirkyness and totally lovable fae. The two daemon boys aka daddy darkness and the lord highness himself are drool worthy. Mr smooth frenchman, lover of blood and all things french. Im just a little disappointed that more of the story regarding Red (Jasmine) wasn’t revealed and now its ended on a cliffhanger 😭😭😭

Absolutely delicious

Book two of this series was such a gift. Given how big book one was, I wasn't expecting book two any time soon but it didn't stop me from searching the author every few weeks just in case. To my pleasant surprise she was able to produce book two quickly and it was another girthy treasure (800+ pages!!!). Book two picks right up where we left off, with Jasmine separated from the guys and deciding if she has the capacity to entertain their apologies. We don't stay forever trapped in that state. I appreciate the level of effort each guy takes to explain themselves and genuinely seek to repair the relationship, both individually and as a whole. We learn so much about each of the guys back stories and it goes a long ways in explaining some behavior from book one. I love how much care each person takes with all members of the group to be aware of triggers or insecurity and soothe those quickly. The romance and heat come life deliciously in book two. In short, this is such a great series, great characters that stay with you long after finishing the book. The cliffhanger was gentle (which I sincerely appreciate!). I'm so eager to learn more about who Jasmine was before the rune was placed upon her. I have a feeling book three is going to be action packed! I highly recommend this series.

Can't wait for the next one!!!

I thought the Inferno one was so good and honestly this one was even better. I love how long these books are. There is so much detail and I also love how much emphasis their is on their relationships with Jasmine and with each other. A lot of fantasy/romance is fast burn, no plot, and insta lust/love. No build up. This isnt like that at all. This is all slow burn build up. So satisfying. I hope I don't have to wait to long for the next installment.

This series so far has absolutely blown me away, the MMC’s in this book have quickly become some of my absolute favourites 😍 Their character development and personalities have me absolutely hooked…and the grovelling 🤤 Jasmine keeps them on their toes and brings the best out in them…as much as you can woth some seriously feral MMC’s!

Another ending that had me desperately looking for the next page, the plot keeps me hooked and i can’t wait to see what happens next, what other secrets are yet to be revealed and how everything is going to tie together!

I cannot wait for book 3!

After devouring The Inferno months ago I've done nothing but yearn for The Enforcers to come out. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC for this book, but that in no way changes my opinion.

The Enforcers is a chunky book, but I still hunkered through it in 2.5 days - and I loved every second.

The guys have a ton of making up to do after the previous book, so reading how they each tried to make up for everything was so sweet and heartbreaking. I learnt a lot about each of the characters throughout, and it gave me such a deep connection to them all.

The writing is so addictive, and left me wanting/needing more. The character development is written brilliantly, and made me love them all so much more.

The Enforcers is more character/relationship focused and driven than the first book, but I think it was definitely necessary to build a foundation on who they are as a unit.

This was a great second book which made me laugh, cry and yearn for more. It's romantic, action packed and wholesome in a way I didn't expect. The world building is very clever, and I loved every second.

It's easy to say I'm very much looking forward to the next!

Read this Book Now!!!

I have a love-hate relationship with a groveling trope. Sometimes the graveling is overdone. Sometimes the FMC is playing miscommunication game tropes, but the groveling in this book was heartrending. It was more than just groveling. It was our MMC’s learning how to love themselves , our FMC learning let herself be herself be loved, this groveling was about wholeness and completeness, and it left my heart aching, and my ears are blurry the entire time it was happening.
MK Michelle has managed to write a book where the plot moves with pace with the feelings, but it doesn’t feel too slow, but incredibly meaningful each page adding more depth and when the spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️ happened, it felt rewarding. It felt gratifying. These are some of my favorite book boyfriends. They were genuinely all different from each other, but I love when a reverse harem has a brotherhood. That’s just a strong as their relationship with their FMC. I’m still looking forward to the next book.

I was very lucky to receive an arc of this book. We got so many questions answered but just as many new questions to keep us guessing. I loved getting more of the back story on all of our guys and how they ended up as a family group. Sai is still my favorite though lol. It was really interesting to see more of the world open up as you go through everybody’s past. I really hope the next book finally takes us out of the city since the lockdown is over at the end of this book. This was a great book to end my year on!

what a cliffy

Are you kidding?! Ending an 800 page book with more questions!! It takes skill as an author to keep a reader entertained for 800+ pages, let alone in the second book of the series… I am impressed with M.K. Michelle and the world she has built within the series, I’m so excited to learn more about Jasmines past in book 3!

So good!

So I read the first book one in a day. I was mad I had to wait 24 hours for the second book and I finished the second in 2 days. I would have finished at 1 but I had to go to work. The slow burn the character building the plot twist holy moly, just ensnaring. And the spice between the main characters. Just chef's kiss.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The trauma bonding in this book and the back stories from the guys. It gives all of the feels.

The tension and angst leading up to the steamy bits was my favorite thing.

The love between the guys and their relationships was incredible to read.

I loved the groveling and the relationship being forged and fixed. Simply wonderful.

A beautiful follow up from The Inferno, and I already can’t wait for book 3. I. Need. More. From these characters.
