This was beyond boring...there was no plot development, no tension or suspense, a lot of repetitive dialogue, and it felt like the author "told" what was happening instead of developing a good story using strong characters. The ending seemed rushed and anticlimactic.

I like the story but to many errors Dominic buys a house in Brooklyn close to Simone mother but mom lived in Philadelphia.her brother name is Marcus but at the end it’s Ron Dominic is an only child but he loves his nieces and they baby name is suppose to be Ruth but now it’s Grace.

I prefer more character development and engagement to buy in to the real couple status. Overall a nice quick read but I would love a rewrite with about 80 more pages of romance building.

It became real very soon!
Dominic and Simone found themselves in what some would consider an untenable situation, one began to meet their individual needs. For him stability, for her justice for her brother, and medical needs for her mother. One of the things that drew me in early on, was the genuine kindness of Dominic, not just toward Simone but everyone he interacted with. Simone captured me by being her best authentic self who loved her family, and the man she married, and came to love. Their journey to get to where they and their beloved family members find themselves now, was delightful to read and enjoy. Ms. Richardson, this is my first read of one of your novels, it will not be the last. I enjoyed the way you wove Dominic and Simone's story together not allowing their challenges to devastate or destroy them, but to forge a closer unbreakable relationship that also honored all of the people they loved. Thank you.

All In
Best quote: “Don't rob yourself of the wonderful because you're afraid of the terrifying."
I am writing this review only 45% of the way through because of this quote and how poignant the story is so far. I’ve read many books that feature the arranged marriage trope and for some reason this one really resonates. It makes me wistful. The characters seem like real people I would love to know. Also, this novel inspired my shift in thinking. I now wish prenups were required for every marriage to provide protection for both parties, especially with a power imbalance. That feels like peace and not presumption.

Beautiful story!
I love the whole premise of the story. The marriage of convenience that turned into a marriage of love and commitment. I especially like the fact that their arrangement was discovered early in the book, and not at the end like lots of others that I've read. That was refreshing. I gave it four stars, though, for two reasons. First, because of the repetitive rehashing of the first time they decided to marry. Secondly, because the conclusion of the story of the crime boss was never given. Other than that, it was a great, well-written book.

I enjoyed the read. It was a sweet romance. I kept waiting for something to happen. It was alot of repeat. Being a reader I do not like reading about the same thing throughout the book. Please edit the daughter name. You said her grandmother name was Ruth then he said Grace. Also how do he have nieces?

There's nothing objectively wrong with this book it just feels like it was lackadaisically written. When I was reading it felt very vague like it was missing components but not badly enough you couldn't keep up with the story. I kind of feel like i wasted my money...

amazing read
It was very well paced. I hate when a book takes so long to get the party started that you lose interest. It didn’t really have any spice but it was genuine and heart felt. It was a little repetitive but life can be that way. I would recommend to a friend.
