It's been a millennium since Elena's fateful first meeting with Archangel Raphael. She has survived war and loss, experienced beauty and cruelty. But no matter what, she has always held on to her mortal heart, as she and Raphael have held on to each other. Passionate and vibrant, they've built a life that has stood the test of time, growing ever stronger with each turn of the sun.
But change is coming—of a magnitude they could have never imagined—and it will forever alter the trajectory of their existence.
Even as they grapple with the cataclysmic shift in their personal lives, the Cadre of Ten, which has maintained a hard-won peace for centuries, begins to simmer with dangerous fault lines. The specter of madness looms in one archangel, the promise of war burns between two others, and in darkness far from mortal and immortal eyes stirs an ancient, slumbering power.
Suddenly, the future is terrifyingly uncertain . . . at the very moment that Elena and her archangel need to protect a treasure infinitely more precious than eternity.
I've been writing as long as I can remember and all of my stories always held a thread of romance (even when I was writing about a prince who could shoot lasers out of his eyes). I love creating unique characters, love giving them happy endings and I even love the voices in my head. There's no other job I would rather be doing. In September 2002, when I got the call that Silhouette Desire wanted to buy my first book, Desert Warrior, it was a dream come true. I hope to continue living the dream until I keel over of old age on my keyboard.
I was born in Fiji and raised in New Zealand. I also spent three years living and working in Japan, during which time I took the chance to travel around Asia. I’m back in New Zealand now, but I’m always plotting new trips. If you’d like to see some of my travel snapshots, have a look at the Travel Diary page (updated every month).
So far, I've worked as a lawyer, a librarian, a candy factory general hand, a bank temp and an English teacher and not necessarily in that order. Some might call that inconsistency but I call it grist for the writer's mill.
Here we are. The last book. I have felt it was time for the series to end for some time, it had come to its natural conclusion, book 12 closed the series main storyline and the books after till 16 tidied up the plot points left and the fallout, but now that the time has come, I’m heartbroken. In my head I know it’s time, but I would be happy to read about these characters interacting and Elena and Raphael living their everyday lives even for just a bit longer. A new Guild Hunter book every year has been a tradition for me for… 12 years I think; which meant every year there was a reread of my favorite scenes and books. These are my comfort characters. Elena and Raphael are my first big book ship, I watched them fall in love, learn how to make their relationship work, they fought and they compromised, intertwined their lives, became a perfectly balanced power couple who understand each other to the core and still challenge each other, I feel like I lived their growth as characters and as a couple with them. This is the end of an era.
I went into this knowing it was going to be very different from the others, with less plot, and yeah, the plot itself isn’t as full and exciting as the ones of the peak books, but that’s because this is something else, it’s a sweet goodbye story (a bit too sweet sometimes but in this instance I’ll take it) that shows how much love NS has for this series and characters and put in this goodbye, and because I love the series and characters too and am so happy for them and share their joy, and this is a beautiful conclusion to a wonderful journey, for the journey itself and for all this series means to me, 5 stars. Some things happen don’t get me wrong, there’s some Cadre politic which I always adore, but this is a quiet story about Elena and Raphael entering a new chapter of their lives, parenthood, with all the fears and joy it brings, but always facing it together; it feels like a book length epilogue, with time skips, lovely characters interactions, remembering the past and people who passed away, showing how the world keeps changing and how the characters we met throughout this journey are doing.
Random thoughts: I adored all the scenes of Elena and Raphael telling all the meaningful people about the baby and the reactions, and having the kid in the second half was the sweetest thing, reading about them being parents was heartwarming and the kid was adorable 🥹. Honorable mention for Illium meeting the baby, Caliane meeting the baby and the Legion meeting the baby! Illium is always the best, his bond with both Elena and Raphael is the one that hits me the most after the main romance. (yeah, still not over him and Aodhan not being in NY and I maintain my opinion from book 17, I know it’s life, time passes and things change, but reading about beloved characters who passed away or beloved characters moving away and the group I love not being together in the same place anymore hurts) Naasir always cracks me up, his “housecat” gift 😋 Elijah and Hannah also with a baby! Moments that got me emotional and I wasn’t expecting: Harrison grief, Caliane sanity and Bengal leaving. Event I was expecting but still hit so much: Elena and Raphael with their child and the Legion. THE LEGION. I love them and they always get to me. “We have come as called, sire.” 😭
A precise ranking of all the books would be impossible, a few of them are not particularly standout to me but I enjoyed them all, but I’m leaving my top 10 1. Archangel's Legion & Archangel's War (it's a tie) 2. Archangel's Prophecy 3. Archangel's Heart 4. Archangel's Consort 5. Angels' Blood 6. Archangel's Kiss 7. Archangel's Lineage 8. Archangel's Enigma 9. Archangel's Eternity (might go up a spot) 10. Archangel's Storm
I will miss them so much, Illium, Aodhan, Dmitri, Naasir, Jason, Galen, Venom, Jessamy, Caliane, Alexander, Elijah, Hannah, Titus, Michaela too, Astaad, Sara, Ransom, Eve, Sharine, Izzy, the Legion, Montgomery, Sivya, Nisia, and most of all Elena and Raphael. I can’t even express how much I’ll miss Elena and Raphael. If I keep going I’ll cry. Thank you series 💜
--- Pre-read I’ve been reading this series for more than a decade, it’s one of my favorites ever, it will always have a special place in my heart; Elena and Raphael are amongst my favorite book ships of all time, I love them, I followed their relationship for years, watched them find their balance as a couple, and now they are going to have a baby! And we’ll say goodbye to these characters that are such comfort characters for me. Story wise it’s time but I’m gonna cry all of my tears. A BABY!!! P.S. The cover with Elena and Raphael 🥹
Thanks to Netgalley and Berkley for the pre-release copy of Archangel's Eternity by Nalini Singh. Below is my honest review.
So I'm torn on this one. It was a great tie-up to a fantastic series. It gave us reunions, rebirths, new births, updates, new matchups, etc. But it didn't really have a plot. It literally felt like a giant epilogue to the series, rather than its own separate installment. Lots of loose ends tied up. Lots of happy moments. Lots of setting up a long-term joy for almost all the characters. But no plot, no story thread that made it its own novel.
This is definitely a good one if you're a fan of the series. In fact, it's mandatory. You must read this and enjoy reaping the benefits of 17 prior books of fight, struggle, danger, war, and overcoming obstacles. But just be prepared going in for the fact that it's an epilogue. Knowing this, you'll enjoy it much more.
Four stars - one star off for not really having a plot, but the other four for being a perfect epilogue to a grand series.
I KNOW THAT NALINI WILL GIVE US A FINAL BOOK WITH ELENA AND RAPHAEL 💕💕💕 I’M READY FOR CRYING ALL MY TEARS (Illium and Adohan book give me last one book vibes, but knowing Nalini she couldn’t finish this series without a last one with the main couple)
“Nobody told me immortality would be so full of goodbyes.”
I don’t have enough words to describe how much this series means to me.
I started reading it in my early teen years and for the last 14 years, it’s remained my favourite and one of my constants. I have so many memories of making an event of each new release that my memories of growing up are so intertwined with Elena and Raphael’s story which makes it so hard to say goodbye.
The decision to use quotes from the series as the quotes before each chapter was genius and really good to set up each chapter.
Don’t expect much action or battles in this book as it reads more as an extended epilogue but it’s a beautiful culmination of everything we’ve built in the series—all the relationships, all the development, all the emotions. 🥹 It truly is a love letter to the fans and to the characters and any fan of the series will for sure love the book (I mean, if you’ve stuck for this long, there’s no way you’re not a fan 😂). One of my biggest hopes before reading the book would be that Elena would be different enough given the 1000 year time gap, and I thought Nalini did a great job showing how much all the characters have changed whilst still remaining true to character. Just like in her Psy-Changeling world, she’s really good at bringing all the characters together to show the interconnection of her characters.
I don’t really have much more to say except that it’s been an amazing, wild ride. I’ll miss this world so much!

OMG, BLURB'S OUT! 1000 year time skip, and BABY. this has been my favourite book series for the last 14 years.
I don't know how many tears I'll cry when it's all over but it's sure been an amazing ride 😭🥹
Me reading the synopsis to this and then bursting into tears because it means Sara, Deacon and Zoe will have died and poor Elena... gahh!! I am not ready for this to be over!
I have so many feelings about this series 🥹 Both sad and excited to get to the end especially with Elena and Raphael who are my absolute favourite couple. I have been reading this series since 2012 🫨 and I have looked forward to reading each addition to the series every single year. It's going to be weird not having a new Guild Hunter novel waiting for me after 2026.
Archangel’s Eternity was a beautiful, heartfelt finale to a series I’ve loved for years. From the moment Elena the Guild Hunter met Archangel Raphael, their sparks, clashes, and undeniable chemistry set the tone for an epic romance, and this last book honors every step of their journey.
Across the series they’ve battled monsters, faced devastating losses, and navigated the treacherous politics of the Cadre. Here, though, they step into the most meaningful chapter of their lives. The external drama is lighter, a few archangel conflicts and the fragile mental state of another, but the emotional depth is rich. Much of the story centers on Elena and Raphael embracing change, surrounded by the people who’ve become their family.
I especially loved how Elena’s memories of those she’s lost remain fresh. Her grief and love coexist, and she finds a way to let those memories shine in this new beginning.
I was genuinely sad to see this series end, but Nalini Singh closes it with such grace and warmth that I finished the final page with a full heart and a huge smile.
This is book 18 in the addictive Guild Hunter series and it’s one best read in order. I binged the Raphael and Elena books (the main couple) several years ago and read the side character installments separately. I voluntarily read a copy courtesy of the publisher. These are my thoughts and opinions.
I can’t believe it was 20 years ago that I read Angels’ Blood. Time has passed and this mortal reader has grown so much older while the immortal characters hadn’t physically aged . This is an ending I’d always hoped for Elena and Rafael.
Archangel’s Eternity has full-circle moments addressing and healing old wounds for many characters in the Guild Hunter world. The purple prose was present but I didn’t care. While I felt the series jumped off track for a while Archangel’s Eternity brings everything back to the main couple. A wonderful finale!
Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of the book!
I devoured the Guild Hunter series in the frame of two weeks (and I am currently re-reading for the hundredth time), and having the opportunity to read the final book months in advance was such a pleasure!
This was a perfect ending to such an amazing series. Although, it was not as action packed and suspenseful as the previous books, this story wrapped up an adventure that spanned 18 books and multiple lives - I enjoyed every word and emotion.
In the interest of not spoiling anything, I will not go into too much detail regarding the book. However, there are a few characters that I have written about below.
Semi-spoilers (nothing drastic)
This series is among my favorites and continued to keep me engaged until the bittersweet end. The final book took place 1000 years later. I most enjoyed seeing my two favorite characters, Elena and Raphael, develop throughout the series. Reading about their relationship in the final Guild Hunter book was wonderful, but the icing on the cake for me, was getting to read about all the side characters that I fell in love with throughout the series. The Seven are such important characters to me and reading about their relationships and seeing how close Illium remains close to all of them was such a gift.
Although Michaela is a character that took me by surprise in the later books (the jury is still out), she wound up being a character that I hoped to see again. This book did not disappoint. Her development was beautiful and her reunion with Gavriel was extremely emotional.
If you enjoyed the previous books in this series, then there is no doubt in my mind that you will enjoy this book as well!!
Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for the ARC! And thank you Nalini Singh for all the tears over the years.
This book might as well be called "Loose Ends? What Loose Ends?" There are very few questions I am left with at the end, the only one I can think of I'll include in the spoiler section. I'll keep this part as spoiler free as possible and leave the spoilers below for freaks like me who like reading them lol.
I cried like the whole way through on this one I won't lie. I don't know how y'all are coping who have been reading since 2009, I've only been here since 2019 and I'm a wreck.
There's a significant time jump from the last time we were in a Elena and Raphael book and a bit of a jump from Illium's and a good chunk of this book is exploring what that looks like; who's around, what the Cadre's up to, who is trying to kill who, all that good stuff. Elena and Raphael go on a "tour" of sorts that felt like a bunch of scenes from a movie catching up on what's going on for both the characters and us the readers.
There is very little drama in Eternity, it is a very light and almost cozy book in comparison to the mutilation caused by Uram and Lijuan's zombies. It can't be easy ending a series you've spent 20 years writing, but I think this was a great send off for the series.
NOW SPOILER TIME DON'T CLICK IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS
Anyway this will remain one of my favourite series ever, thank you Nalini for all the entertainment throughout the years, from Blood to Eternity.
I lost count of how many times this book made me cry. This final installment was fan service- in the best way. We got to say goodbye to so many beloved characters. I can't believe its over. These books got me through the pandemic. I hope Nalini Singh returns to this world even if Elena and Raphael aren't at the center of it <3
They were the beginning of it all when the Guild Hunter series began with Angel’s Blood and now, for the final series book, Nalini Singh closes it all out with Raphael and Elena.
My full review will post at Caffeinated Reviewer TBA.
Güzel anılarım var diye 2 veriyorum. Yoksa hak etmiyor. Çok boş. Keşke şer yelloz öldüğünde adabıyla bitirseydi. Böyle güzel bir seri giderek düşmezdi. Ben ilk 3 kitabı kitaplığımda ve gönlümde taşırım, gerisi unutulsun.
May 6, 2026 This book was like a loooong epilogue and I loved every minute of it. I got to say goodbye to each and every character. Each got a moment, even the ones that had long since died. And Raphael and Elena totally deserved their HEA. Finally, there’s peace. I’m going to miss them, miss all of the characters that have been a part of my life for 10+ years. The way I sobbed at certain parts…
Thank you Nalini Sigh for your exceptional story telling.
May 5, 2026 Alright, here we goooooooo!
November 7, 2025 FINALLY RAPHAEL IS ON THE COVER 🙌 And they’re having a baby aren’t they? AREN’T THEY?!?
I don't even know how to begin this review. An epic series with a finale that was so good and honestly, everything a fan of this series could have wanted. We got glimpses of most of the couples in this series but really, this was all about Elena and her beloved Archangel, Raphael. I don't want to give too much away but this book essentially spans a 100 years and also reflects on times gone by. At the start of this book, Elena is a thousand years old. Yep, the badass Guild Hunter we've all come to know and adore over the course of 18 books has spent a millennium as the mortal turned angel turned consort to Raphael. And what a life she has lived. This book is about grief over what's gone before, reveling in the present, and joyful anticipation of what's to come.
Without giving too much away, I want to talk about a couple of things that were standouts for me. First of all, this incredibly vivid world that Nalini built with such specificity and attention to details. It's gorgeous and brilliant and the continuity really works.
Secondly, the sense of found family, especially with Raphael and his Seven, even Illium who is now an Archangel in his own right. Speaking of Illium, is it too much to ask that if Nalini does a spin off series like she did with Psy-Changeling, that she focus on Illium's court. I know several key members of his court get their HEA's in passing in this book but I'd love to read more about him as an Archangel. (If Nalini wants to take a break from this world altogether, I can't begrudge her that either, she has more than earned it). But that sense of found family and the reaction from everyone about Elena and Raphael's news is just, gah, PERFECT. I loved it.
Third, the book doesn't shy away from grief, from the losses Elena has endured, from her family to her best friend Sara, who chose to stay a mortal. This part especially resonated with me because I was introduced to this series by my very good friend Melinda, who passed away 2 years ago. She never got to read the last few books in this series and the fact that she, someone who absolutely adored this series, doesn't get to see how it ends, is absolutely heart wrenching to me.
With this book, Nalini gives her many Guild Hunter fans the perfect ending to an absolutely epic series. This book is thematically lighter - there's some dark moments and the mere threat of war but no real violence and it honestly just feels like a slice of life story about Elena and Raphael, if that slice of life happened to occur over the course of a century. It's soft and tender and romantic and I don't have one single note of complaint about it.
This was a fitting ending to the series! It has a completely different tone from it, but it's absolutely beautiful and fitting. On another note, this series has been blessed by beautiful covers, and this one is no different.
I was blown away by this book. A beautiful ending to this series. I only cried like 5 times. It was wonderful to watch this series unfold. 16 years of my life well spent
I really loved Elena and Raphael, and all the wonderful (side) characters. One of my favorite series, so I’m gutted to find that this is the last book, but also really looking forward to it.
Bizillion stars!!! This book was epic. I was a little apprehensive because this is THE conclusion to 20 years of archangel goodness. The stakes were high but boy did Nalini delivered.
I literally cried throughout the reading. Sad tears, happy tears, and just proud tears.
This book was everything. I would say this is like an extended epilogue book. No stakes just love, family, and farewells. We get so many happy moments, weddings, babies, friendships.
Perfect!
I am satisfied! The fact we get a whole book dedicated to the growth of Nixie was godblessing.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
So sad that this series is now finished but what a finish it was. I really enjoyed this last book and it had a wonderful happy ending. I did a complete reread before this book released so it was all fresh going into it. I may reread this one again before I return it to the library.
Absolutely EVERYTHING I wanted it to be. Perfect ending to the series, but I will always hope for a spin-off... Truly though if this is the last book in this world, I am completely satisfied and grateful I can always revisit this world and these truly beloved characters. *contented happy sigh*
