After Bedwyr vanishes without a trace and Arthur’s nephew reveals himself as the dragon who deceived them all, Arthur must hold together his fractured alliance while his most trusted companions search desperately for the man he loves.
But no sooner has Bedwyr returned than their nephew’s unchecked ambition erupts in violence, threatening Arthur’s life and forcing Bedwyr to fight for the future they’ve barely begun to claim — if he can convince his stubborn cub that love is worth surviving for.

Epic romance, two heroes at a time! My story universe features warriors and blacksmiths, rescue swimmers and hockey players, treasure hunters and time travelers, and quite a few shifters. My favorite kind of hero: a grumpy f*cker who’ll do anything for the man he loves.
Looks like I get to post the first review for this book. No pressure!
I grew up on Arthurian legend and mythology and like every author's take, Mia West takes many many liberties while staying more or less true to the spirit of the legends. While I can definitely say I did not like everything the author did during this series *cough* Britte & Uthyr *cough*, and some things were really jarring at the time, like when the series suddenly turned into a shifter series, and then a little light time travel was thrown in sometime later. I overall enjoyed the stories though, both great and small. I'm sure I'll reread them at some point, except for book 7, which I'm still pretending doesn't exist.
Pierced by Hope is a little bit bittersweet. Here we are at the end. There was treachery, arrogance, teenagers that think they know better than everyone around them (we've all pretty much been there I think), scathingly bad decisions, lies of omission, and some having to live with the consequences of some very rash actions. Plus a bonus . And a revisiting of a certain villa/stronghold from Into the Fire, which is my favorite series by this author. But I digress.
Arthur and Bedwyr do get their HEA, but it seemed pretty touch and go a couple times, though thankfully not because they were in a bad spot with each other. Looking at this book by itself, it feels like not a whole lot really happened. I mean, the meat of the story all took place in a pretty short amount of time and only had a couple focal points. Pretty much everything important did get wrapped up, though I am left with a few questions, mainly about Medraut and Galahad. And a couple about Lura, too. There were still too many POV's for the story and that did clutter things up a bit unnecessarily.
All in all, I think I will rate the wrap up of Pierced by Hope at 3.5 stars.
This Arthurian epic continues with twists and turns that echo the legend and also manage to be unique. Without giving away any spoilers, having reached autonomy as a leader, Arthur is beset with difficulties, ranging from a plot against Bedwyr, the ever-present threat of the Saxons and the actions of an over-exuberant youngster that could lead to disaster. The narrative sweeps along through moments of private hope and despair which could have greater consequences. I've grown to love these characters and am fully invested in their wonderful story.
