this felt so short, I wanted more! I like the series. Sett is my favorite.

This felt very short cause it was only three chapters. We did get a lot of movement for the plot, this didn’t feel like filler chapters. I did like the bonus story as well. Our prince and sol are developed further.

No review as I don’t have much to say other than I highly enjoyed this and can see that the series is on its last arc. I’m sad about it cause I love Nina the starry bride so much.

4/4.5 stars. This had some good development but felt a little loose with pacing. I did like that story has continued to build on aspects of the characters and see their decelopment, though this was more plot heavy. This continues to be a great fantasy manga.

Continuing the trend of shorter volumes...while it was nice to have another following so quickly after the last, the story's definitely starting to feel more condensed. I appreciated how hefty the storylines have been thus far and am annoyed with Rikachi's editors/publisher for trimming things down.
I am amused that she's still fitting in extra side characters - the new ones in this volume didn't feel all that necessary, but they're always fun and help to make the world feel as wide and vibrant as it should. After all, this is the core of the conflict: one star priestess is essentially trying to wipe out the world, whereas Nina sees the value in all of humanity, regardless of kingdoms and loyalties and opposing mindsets. She's not naive enough to believe it's possible to grant all wishes - the only way to achieve a peaceful world is for no humans to be left in it - but she's been doing her absolute best, far beyond the use of her powers, to unite everyone she can.
A fair amount of the action felt compressed here, too - there's even a timeline in the back that shows everyone rushing to converge so the main characters can be brought back together without too much dawdling. Except that's Rikachi's style - to show the depth of everyone's journeys even when they're apart.
There also wasn't nearly enough Sett for me in this volume; I won't bang on about my thoughts there, since I've made my thoughts on the matter clear enough for 16 volumes. I do still wonder how Azure is going to reach his promised "happy ending" - right now, there's of course the whole Beast God mess to clean up, but there's also a bigger question about his future. He's not "the rightful king" and is still meant to hand the throne over to his little brother, but his righthand man and Nina both think of him as a true, righteous king who would be good for the country.
Perhaps that's true. I have varying opinions on that, including the fact that he had other opportunities to take Alisha down without having to start up a war, killing people and destroying towns in the process. Sure, he had a bigger goal, and it makes for a more interesting narrative, but these are all actions I really don't think Nina would approve of.
My favorite part of this volume was the bonus story about Noa and Sol at the end. I adore Sol and wound up appreciating Noa a lot more, once we saw more of her backstory. Which is a trend for most of this series and a real strength in Rikachi's writing.

This volume wasn't as strong imo as some of its predecessors - I think mainly because the volume features 3 chapters (not counting the bonus chapter which honestly, was a surprise highlight and redeemed this volume).
I'm not sure if the author intends this vol to be a bit of a 'lull' before the oncoming storm but I didn't find myself as invested in this one.
I'm also still bitter that there isn't anywhere near enough Sett in this series (the last few volumes have been very Sett-light) :/ and I hope to goodness in volume 18 that he will have more page time.
Still...if there is more Holt and Noa, I shall be here for it :)

I’m a little disappointed but there’s some plot movement that’s keeping me going!
Recap: Az takes the demon and throws Alisha off a cliff (that was hilarious), Nina meets Az’s ex fiancée and she helps her see Az, side backstory of Sol and the King, Nina confronts Az and Az chokes her. End.
