Needing a place to call his own, Evan is thrilled when his mother points out that their crowded apartment has eight corners, one for each family member.
I really liked this book because the illustrations were beautiful. They looked like they were made with oil pastels which I personally really like. The story itself was really cute and discusses the idea that while you may need your own space, it can be nice to have people around so that you don't get too lonely. I think this book would great for all grades in elementary school because the story is timeless yet it may be hard for some kids to read on their own.
Evan is black and wants a place of his own. He is allowed a corner of a room, but nothing makes it feel right until he realizes you have to share to be happy.
