When a routine scan of the ocean reveals a Cold War era weapon, Jack Jr. and the other Campus operators are called in to investigate. What follows is a tense, page-turning adventure that lasts through the rest of the book. Did I mention the Chinese are also involved? This book would appeal to anyone keeping up with the Clancy series. A very worthy effort.

This was a fantastic thriller featuring Jack Ryan Jr. dealing with a weapon buried on the sea floor that could cause devastation to America and her allies. This is my first Jack Stewart book and he did a phenomenal job of attention to details as well as living up to the Clancy hype and I look forward to more of his work in this universe. Thanks to Putnam books and Jack Stewart for this early copy.

Another fantastic addition to the Clancyverse by a new author! Jack Stewart did a great job not only capturing the essence of the characters and the feel for these Jack Ryan/Jack Ryan Jr thrillers, but he gave us another fast paced thriller that keeps us on the edge of our seats. While the main focus here is under the sea and Stewart is a pilot, you can tell his background helped shape the storytelling and realism that we've come to love with these books.
If you're just coming into this series, you do get the required background on the character and past events to understand where the story goes, but of course for long-time fans, there is the hidden history that makes this even more enjoyable. And as always, whenever John Clark is involved, you know things are going to get kinetic. Hope to read more from Stewart in this series!

I’m going to politely disagree with the initial reviews. It’s like you can tell when someone has sat in your spot. It’s close, but something is slightly off.
A wonderful storyline. Refreshing take on a new concept of warfare. Close to the Clancy style but…. In my estimation the author missed. Points get touched but not addressed. The cover actually shows an image not relevant to the final story. So much intrigue that could have been added to the plot. It just seemed like all the characters we’ve grown to love showed up, hit their mark, delivered some lines and then moved on. I never felt the soul of many of the characters.
I guess I just felt it was a great story but not quite to the Clancy style. I feel bad picking on a good read, but if you are going to write for the Clancy universe- you need to bring your A-game. I think this one missed by just enough to be noticeable
