Juliette is the good girl librarian, still gun-shy from a past relationship disaster, but ready to bring the sexy back to her life. Shooter is the gorgeous biker whose eye she catches on her first flirty girls’ night. It's amazing what the universe will send you, once you open the door. On the surface nothing about this pairing should work, but their differences are actually puzzle pieces that really fit.

I normally have an aversion to any motorcycle club read with "biker" in the title. I'm happy this rare exception to my reading rule paid off. This doesn't bring the crazy mayhem usually preferred in my biker reads. It makes up for that with a sexy and slow building romance. Shooter is a surprisingly sweet alpha. He is very respectful, and chivalrous in his pursuit of Juliet. I'm so used to the cavemen that populate the biker theme; it was a nice change of pace. Though they did have instant attraction, wouldn't classify it as insta-love.

This also wins as an Interracial Romance too. It is so great to find another IR biker book that left a smile on my face. There are so many seemingly small things that are actually a big deal as a fan of this subgenre. The crazy ex trope wasn't racially motivated for once. A close to real life Black haircare moment made me giggle too. This might not be the most realistic biker lifestyle book out there, but you don't expect that so much in the sweet ones anyway.

If you are looking for a light read or just into biker IR, this might be up your alley.

OMG!

*** Spoilers***

What the hell kind of ending was that? OK... I digress and will begin by being completely honest about this book.

This had to be one of the dumbest heroines I have had the misfortune to read. By all accounts, she is being stalked by a sexually violent and deviant ex-boyfriend, however, she withholds this information from her mother, and often, from her friends. She goes as far as to refuse her friends staying with her after receiving a death message from ex boyfriend, while her badass boy is out of town. She doesn't even call him to tell him!! I was so angry I could have screamed!!!
She doles out pieces of important info on her stalker as opposed to freaking the hell out and using her supposed badass boyfriend to take care of this dipshit! However when said badass finally decides to confront the deviant, he does nothing but warn him off!!!
Here another great one... Juliette works as a librarian, her biker boyfriend set two prospect to stake out her workplace from across the street at a cafe. WHY? Its a damn library! Why aren't they staking out in there? Instead, she gets confronted AGAIN at her job and the badass bikers missed it! These have to be the most incompetent bikers on the planet!

Then back to my original comment... What the hell kind of ending is that?! After the ex goes as far as taking all her money, her car...her life... They decide to leave town for her safety. OK makes sense. Chapter ends, but when the story resumes, her and her biker are moving in together. Her ex is in jail... OK. HOW??? HOW??? What happened? How did they finally get him? Did she get her money and possessions back??? Well, ladies and gents... you will never know because they writer never divulges this key pieces of information. And that alone screams incompetence! All that buildup to get no fucking payback??? Hell to the NO! I was so mad!

It gets better, then they get a call to find out the the ex was killed in prison. How convenient!!! to just kill off the biggest tension builder of the story! However this was no convenient it was utter stupidity!! I could go on but the end twist is so lame I barely read through it... I am sorry, but this book was an epic FAIL for me.

The story was cute. I liked the characters. This book lost a star because there were too many editing errors. When you're this good of a writer, your work deserves to be edited. It needs to be edited. Bad editing ruins good books.

Would I read another book by this author? Yes. If it had the same editing problems as this one, that would be the last one, though.

We are starting off by saying that this is a new author for us and that we really enjoyed this first novel by her.I really loved it.Looking forward to future reads by her.

One of the things I liked about this story is when two complete opposites meet but have amazing chemistry together. A librarian and Biker who would have thought that they would have anything in common.Who would have thought that a librarian could be sexy too a Biker but, the sparks this couple had scorched the pages.

I always pick a favorite character in a story and mine is going to be Shooter.I choose him because he was just sexy as hell. When he spoke with that velvety voice it made a girls panties wet. When he spoke the only thing a girl would have on her mind would be jumping that bad boys bones.

Shooter had all those bad boy traits that makes a girl want to walk on the wild side.We saw a totally different side to him though.I found him to be patient, kind, possessive, love able, smoking hot, endearing but also had one big heart.
Shooter has closed off his heart but, after meeting Juliette his hearts starts to thaw and we see him opening up little by little.I loved Shooter's interactions with Juliette they were sweet, gentle, possessive, commanding all wrapped up into that one big scary and dangerous biker.I also loved how he could be patient and kind and understanding.Don't get me wrong we saw the dangerous parts of him enough but, he understood what Juliette's past was like so he toned himself down a bit in order for him not to scare her. This made him so sweet .How could a girl not fall for him right then and there. All his qualities just made him more love-able.We saw the most growth in his character throughout the entire story.

I loved Juliette's character as well.Juliette could be sweet, kind, fun loving, and had a rare innocence about her.I loved her interactions with her friends. As a reader the interactions and playfulness give us more then a few smiles along with some laughs as well. Juliette had that wholesome feel about her but, she was a girl that came from a very complicated past full of verbal and physical abuse. This past if hers constantly intervened with her current situations. In doing so it made her current relationship with Shooter tense at times. She treated a judged Shooter for someone else's past deeds constantly which was so unfair to him when he was trying so hard to be supportive.Even though he understood the situation it made for tense encounters but he treated those episodes as he normally did with patience and kindness.I really felt bad for both of these character's and my heart went out to both of them for their past betrayals is just one more thing this couple had in common.

I always wondered what really attracted Juliette to Shooter. His good looks, that bad boy aura, that velvety voice, that danger he represented?I think it was more that she could find someone to trust and protect her and be open with.Him being dangerous and his protective instinct made her feel safe something that she hadn't felt in a really long time. You would think with a touch of this kind of man in her past she would stay clear of a man like him.Shooter's dangerous aura though worked in a positive light in this couples relationship creating that safe environment for her which she needed to feel.I think all in all these things and his protective nature and possessiveness along with their amazing chemistry won her heart in the end. But, in the end she felt safe with him something she hadn't felt in a really long time.Prop's to shooter for accomplishing that.

I love a story were opposites and attract and make a relationship work.Their different personalities helped them learn for one another to make them both whole again. They found themselves doing things that they would not normally do but, and tries to put the other first in most cases. All the character's were engaging and added just what the story needed to keep your interest. You have Juliette's friends the straitlaced good girls and then the dangerous bad boys mixing together making things quite interesting.I love when your able to connect with the character's you read about and I was able to do that with this cast of character's.I liked that it made you have a vested interest in their future.I would love to read more about the other brothers as well in the near future.

Danger, romance twist and turns, love, healing, betrayals and secrets coming to life graced the pages of this story making it quite the page turner. The sexual tension and sparks and the chemistry this couple had added that touch of erotica to the story that heated a girls lion's enough to make this one hell of a hot read as well.Loved it from beginning to end.

Not her best work

I have read numerous books by this author, some were really good, others were ok, and some fell short. This one fell short. I was able to finish the book but everything felt rushed. There was no development with regards to Shooters and Juls relationship. She went from being single to being an MC's "old lady". Both had a lot of issued they needed to deal with. While the relationship should have made sense, it didnt. Juliette was way too immature for Shooter. The 10 year age difference wasn't the issues, she was emotionally immature and very impulsive. At times I didn't know if I was reading about a 25 year old woman or an emotional, hormonal 15 year old. She picked the wrong times to try and show her independence. What was supposed to have been her being assertive and taking back her power, came across like a teenager throwing a tantrum bc she could not get her way. Shooter had a lot of issues too but he handled his better. I was just unable to get past Juliette's character. She was way too young, mentally, emotionally, and chronologically for what the author tried to do. There is no way, realistically a 25 year old was prepared for the type relationship the author wanted to portray and no way a 25 year old went through what Juls went through in her 20s and somehow managed to be "ok" with minimal therapy. Then there was the relationship dynamic with her mom. She was like a preteen with her mother. I didn't get it. I usually like this authors books but I cannot give this series a chance. It seems like every time I purchase a book from author the female leads are all under the age of 26, with three exception of a couple of her standalone novels. I gave this book 2 stars bc I was able to finish reading it but I won't be visiting this series again. I'm also tired of reading about 20 something women and pushing 40 men in committed relationship. I don't what aversion this author has to mature but it is a real turn off when your 30 something. I know there is suspended reality, and this is fictional, but it's still a bit much to swallow. Anyway, thats my honest review. I'm sure there are plenty who will love this novel, so please don't let my poor rating turn you off. Read the book for yourself and form your own opinion. As for me, this book fell way short and I won't be reading the others in the series. I just can't read anymore books about 20 something women, who are put in mature situations, way too mature for their age bracket, who respond to situations like teenagers; but in all honesty most people 25 and under are still mentally teenagers. Anyway, this book just fell short but it had the potential to be so much better.

I was very excited to pick up BIKER'S LIBRARIAN because it checks a lot of boxes for me. Somewhat nerdy girl who meets and enthralls a hot biker who's active in an MC. Said girl finds herself in a bit of danger and the bad ass biker will become her shield and protector. AND on top of all that it's an IR read? Yes, ma'am sign me up and please take my money!

That is basically what is served up in BIKER'S LIBRARIAN, however there was just something missing for me. The writing is not bad and the story is pretty straight forward but there just wasn't the page turning all engrossing sense of tension that I would have enjoyed. I also have to mention that there are editing hiccups that when paying a higher eBook price I don't expect to see.

Juliette and Shooter are quickly attracted to one another and I don't mind that at all. The thing that may be the problem for me is that Shooter seemed a bit too in touch with his feelings and what he wants from Juliette. I know it's crazy but I like it when the big bad alpha is brought to his knees and it's not an easy fall. There was also the feeling that some part of the story was missing, that there could have been more action to fill in the spaces. I would have liked a little more background with Juliette's ex and I would have liked the MC element to have played a bigger role in the drama that was unfolding.

I didn't dislike BIKER'S LIBRARIAN, it just wasn't a home run for me. I'm not giving up on Shyla Colt's writing and there were some nice moments in this story. There are other titles that I would like to give a try and I'm hoping that I will have a better connection next time.

3.5 stars. This was a sweet biker story. BBBW/WM

Shooter was a sweetheart to Juliette. I just have zero to complain about. She was also a pretty good heroine. She had some issues (they both did) but they did not cause large amounts of angst just drama and action. I prefer outside the relationship drama. They communicated really well, even though he held back some stuff. It still was handled maturely. Overall it was a fairly short, easy biker book that was not really about bikers. The end wrapped up a bit too quickly.

I just finished Biker' Librarian and I liked it! It's a biker book so of course I am all over it. This story is about Juliette and Shooter. They both have been betrayed and are hesitant to move forward. Juliette wants to finally live so she heads out to a club with her friends. She doesn't expect to meet Shooter, Sergeant of Arms with the Lords of Mayhem. He wants her but realizes that she is not a one night stand kinda girl so he has to make a decision. Does he let her go or does he fight for her. She also has a past that won't let her go so this will put a hinder on their possible relationship. You'll just have to read and see what happens.

I enjoyed the story. It's quick and sexy and what you would expect from a biker story. You have obstacles that they will have to overcome when it comes to their past, their feelings and their future.

The only complaint I have was at times I didn't know who was talking. I don't know if it was the editing on my side but still was able to enjoy it.

I can't wait to see what's next!

I really enjoyed this one. It's the first for me from this author, and was a total impulse pick. There was a surprising amount of depth of both characters and plots for a book of this length. At the same time, that is my only complaint. There were plot points introduced that I though needed more time and explanation. All in all though - well written and engaging. Finished in one sitting. I really loved both Shooter and Juliette - and I'd love to see some of the secondary characters get their own stories.

Totally hot, interracial romance about an African American librarian and a rough around the edges alpha male biker. Absolutely love Shyla Colt's writing. My only complaint is the ending felt rushed and wrapped up too quickly. However, I have a feeling there will be a sequel, although other characters may take the lead which I am fine with. Very excited for Moose and Joey to get their story. :D

This is finally a good biker book again, after reading some disappointing shallow nondescript biker books. Good story with the right amount of steamy scenes, likeable H and h, adorable friends and MC brothers, I enjoyed this one very much. Point deduction to 4 stars due to the price, $6 for 177 pages is too much. I'm not sure I will continue this series if the following books are just as expensive.

This is the first book in the Lords Of Mayhem series and published by Hot Ink Press in March 2017. I’m not sure what has been updated from the Ellora’s Cave published issue from 2015.

A tale of opposites attract with the good girl librarian and the bad boy biker, Juliette and Shooter were a sweet but sexy pair to read about. They meet at a bar where Juliette is trying to have fun and forget about her hateful ex Peter. She can’t believe that the sexy biker is interested in her whereas Shooter can’t take his eyes of the classy sexy woman. The story then unfolds of their relationship build and steamy interludes.

I liked this book but there were quite a lot of gaps and things that I would have thought important to cover were overlooked. Then there was the issue of the ex showing up right near the end. The bit of drama that this brought to the backstory was quickly resolved which made it a bit of an unnecessary addition. His quick demise was also just a one liner.

When Juliette and Shooter leave town for a month so, this was a great chance for a two header to be brought forth and be able for the reader to connect deeply with the characters, this again was a quick couple of pages, so a bit flat for me. The conclusion to Shooter’s family drama which had been established at the beginning of the book was rushed to a redemption at the end. Again there was so much more that could have been included regarding this throughout the book.

Overall this was a quick sexy read, with little angst or drama and nothing much about the MC lifestyle. It had lots of potential but didn’t take up the challenge and therefore is a three star read for me.

Shooter is the type of man that he doesn't care who sees him give his woman some sugar, if the boy wants sugar he's gonna get some sugar, "I don't give a eff about your neighbors." A wicked grin spread across his lips." Shooter likes to take care of what's his, "you're mine now, Juliette. I take care of what's important to me. If you ever feel even the slightest bit uncomfortable, you call me and I'll take care of the issue." I don't think one conversation was meant to be amusing and/or funny between Shooter and Juliette but I found myself laughing:
"Careful, you might come home and find all my things moved in. Tampons under the sink and pink razors might cramp your style."
"I could give a eff less about what others think. I want you with me. If you moved all your s*** in, I'd be ecstatic."
I loved Shooter and Moose he was a hoot I'm hoping that boy gets a book too.

Honestly, I haven't even finished the book. I just can't pick it back up! The editing is horrible and I just can't seem to get into the storyline. I normally go through a biker book in 2-3 days, even less if it really catches me. But this? I read roughly 6 chapters in my first sitting and haven't been able to pick it back up. Considering this is my first book for this author, it doesn't leave a good impression of them, which is a sad thing because I love finding new authors to read from. Overall, this book was badly done and rushed.

I liked this ebook well enough. Unfortunately, other than the delicious cover it really didn't leave much of an impression either way. Could be why I forgot to rate it after I read it about a month ago. It was far from terrible at least. Full review to come...

All I can say is that it was okay. The Hero lacked authenticity, and so did the heroine.

Other than that, don't be surprised if you start to fast forward through the book.

Giving this one: 2.5 stars.

Juliette and her friends were bored with their status quo and went looking for something a little more exciting. Juliette knew she'd found that something the moment she laid eyes on the tall, dark, and brooding stranger across the room. She also knew he was probably more than she could handle, but she was looking for a change, right? After sharing one dance with the sexy stranger she's not sure she can handle the type of excitement he has to offer.
When Shooter looked up and locked eyes with the dark eyed beauty from across the room he was immediately hooked. He didn't know why or how, he just knew he had to have her. She's different from the type of women he's used too , but maybe change is what he needs to make him feel whole again.
Juliette and Shooter's story was a joy to read. These two never saw the other coming, but what they found was a love and connection that neither could have imagined. It was hilarious seeing how Juliette reacted when she was introduced to Shooters world, but not even her apparent discomfort would hold her back from giving this adventure a try. Who knew that a walk on the wild side could turn into forever. I give it 4 stars!

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

I started out really liking this book. It calls to all of us non stereotypical females: what would happen if we let loose and be the woman that's trapped inside for a few hours.

Juliette does this with her friends, go glam and go to a bar that they normally wouldn't dare step foot into. Once there, the hottest dude in the bar can't take his eyes off her. After he gets the thumbs up from her friends, Juliette lets her inner self enjoy him.

Romance is slow and easy, just what a girl needs when she's out of her depth, not in the he's a biker and I'm a librarian kind a way, but in the "I've been hurt before and I need time" way. Shooter understands her, wants her to be confortable with him and his lifestyle, which makes Juliette want him even more.

What threw me off track was the Juliette's ex showing up about 3/4ths through the book. Yes, I knew he was coming, but honestly, it didn't go with the rest of the book. Peter's presence in the book didn't further Shooter and Juliette's story, but it may have been a plot device to further the series. I guess we will see in book 2.

Will I read the next book in the Lords of Mayhem? Probably. I really want to see more of Moose, Tiny and Boston along with Shooter and Juliette.

Juliette and Shooter both have past betrayals that haunt them, despite that there is no denying their almost instant attraction.

Things I liked: Shooter is a sweetie! I'm a bit in love with him, your first interaction with him is him thinking about what his father said about the first time he met his mother. Shooter is a biker and loyal to his brothers but he doesn't let that get in the way of his budding relationship with Juliette. He is up front and honest and he also doesn't say he want's her only to turnaround and sleep with another girl.

Juliette went through hell in her first ever real relationship, but she's worked past that (mostly) and is making a real effort with Shooter. She's down to earth and hella classy! But while she is oblivious to the MC life she is willing to learn and accept that as a part of shooter with out trying to change him. Also rather interesting that the conflict in this story doesn't come from the MC but in the form of Juliette's ex.

What I didn't like: A much shorter list, as stated above Juliette doesn't know about MC life, but even though Shooter knows this he is a bit accusatory and defensive when she makes small mistakes. Another point is that yes getting flowers is nice but after the first bouquet that wasn't from Shooter, and not from her mother I would have freaked out and told someone when they ended up on my car and then on my steps.

All in all a pretty good read, I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

Thanks Wicked Reads for a free book to read and review.

Shooter undeniably hit all my hot buttons. I'm quite stumped on how to exactly rate this because I felt the story shifted twice. The first part of this book sounded similar to another book I read.....so while I read it, I had the feeling of déjà vu. It happens sometimes because I have read so many books and themes sometimes make me feel like I have already read every POV there is. Victoria Dahl had written one about a biker and librarian. This book however captured me and I really thought it was going great until the ex named Peter, showed up. First I felt like the author went a little too far out of the way to introduce this character only to not really follow through. Juliette and Shooter get out of town to avoid the ex and then next thing we know Peter is in jail. There was a lot of hype building him up, why not end it with him? Just wasn't how I expected it to go. Then the book ends with Shooter reconnecting with his brother. I know the synopsis included the ex but it took so long to really introduce him that it really felt like the book shifted instead of a continuation of the plot.

The Biker's Librarian was the first of Shyla Colt's books that I have read.

The story centers around Biker Bad Boy Alpha- Shooter you know the type. Shooter is looking the kind of guy that could have any and all women when and where he wants them. What Shooter doesn't expect to fall his way is librarian Juliette.

The one night that Juliette goes out to a bar with her friends and of all the bars like in the movie Casablanca "of all the bars in all the places" she meets Shooter and here we go...One night of the hottest sex she has ever had makes Juliette wanting more.

Juliette is everything that Shooter has never had with a woman. She definately wasn't running in the same circles that he does but as fate has it...Well it could be the most unexpected thing either one thought it would be. Yes there is a past that comes back to haunt her the question is can Juliette and Shooter move forward with their relationship.

What happens when a sweet librarian and a hot biker meet? Lots of hotness! This wasn’t a really long book but it was packed with action, hot sex and a little drama. Juliette thought she would just have one night of fun with Shooter but Shooter had other plans. Bikers, crazy ex’s and good friends, this book has it all, get on and enjoy the ride! I loved the chemistry between Juliette and Shooter and the story was good too.
Characters: The characters were well written and believable.
Sex: yes
Religious: no
Would I recommend to others: yes
More than one book in the series: yes

I really enjoyed this book. I love Juliette and Shooter's relationship.

Both of these two people are hesitant to get involved, but Juliette decides that she finally needs to live her life.
So she goes out to a club with her friends, not expecting to meet anyone. And not someone who's in a motorcycle 'gang'!
Shooter is instantly attracted to Juliette, but realizes that she isn't like one of his one night stand girls, so he has to decide if this is what he wants.

But Juliette has a past that she can't seem to get away from. So how will Shooter react to her past?

I loved this book. It was quick and easy and so good!

Definitely a favorite, the first time I read it and the second time

Making her way through recovery after being with an abusive man, Juliette goes out with her friends for dancing and drinks. They make a pact to live life more than they have been. She doesn't wait to live scared anymore. Then she spots scorching hot biker man Shooter there and decides to leave with him. Shooter is quite smitten with her too. From the beginning I couldn't help but hope these two broken people could find healing and love together. Shooter is just delicious. He's definitely all alpha bossy man ready to protect and love on his lady. Thank goodness because Juliette's ex is a creepy stalker man who has begun to leave threatening messages via flowers. Shooter's got this.

I loved Juliette's group of best friends and would love to read more about them. Same goes for Shooter's MC brother. Especially Moose.

I give The Biker's Librarian 4 hearts!

"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."

This is a good introduction to MC world terminology, as we view it from Juliette's viewpoint. She is certainly a newbie to that environment and culture, having hidden herself away from men after a terrible relationship with an abusive, deviant boyfriend. Fortunately, though her foray into dating presents her with a sexy, bad*ss biker called Shooter, he has a soft side for her. This is a sweet (for an MC story) romance, with some drama thrown in and a slight twist in the plot at the end.

2.25 Stars. I've read and enjoyed several of the Kings of Chaos M. C. books by this author; but the storyline for this book and the failed romantic and sexual chemistry of this book's protagonists is a downer. Daniel A. Nash, Shooter, is an edgy alfa male who is loyal, attentive, protective and everything you'd desire in a boyfriend and Juliette Moore, the 25-year-old Black librarian, is a nice, how-be-it insecure and needy; but as a couple, they did not meld...their relationship seemed forced and without any chemistry. The madness with her ex and the problem regarding her work; just added insult to injury. As a couple, Shooter and Juliette is a bust; hopefully, other couplings in this series will be better and their storylines and romances will not seen forced.

The author has outdone herself once again. It's amazing and wonderful all at the same time. Each chapter and page turn leaves you craving more and more of this story that by the end your hoping for more to come in the future!! MUST READ!!! This MC romance story is like nothing before it's softer with a small bad sexier harder side to it. enough to make you love it!!
