This is a friends-to-lovers romance about Kaia, a sweet and caring person who seems happy with her life but is quietly holding back her feelings for her best friend, Daisy. Daisy is just as bright and bubbly, though she’s used to being judged because of her disability; something Kaia has always accepted without question. So when Kaia loses her father, Daisy immediately offers her a place to stay. Living together brings them closer than ever… and soon, they start wondering if what they feel goes beyond friendship.

This was my first real experience with this author. I had previously picked up Right There All Along but didn’t end up finishing it, so I wanted to give her books another chance. And honestly, this one sounded so promising, the friends-to-roommates-to-lovers trope is one I usually adore, and I was really excited to see the disability representation woven into a sapphic story. While I can see the potential, some elements didn’t fully land for me.

Both Kaia and Daisy have very lovable, bubbly personalities, which I appreciated, but I struggled to fully connect with them. I even found myself pausing to figure out why, since they have traits I usually enjoy in main characters. I kept hoping that connection would build as the story progressed, but for me, it stayed a bit distant. I also found myself wanting more depth in their character arcs. Kaia’s grief over her father’s death is introduced as something significant, and I was interested in seeing how she would process that, but it didn’t feel as explored as I expected.

I was also especially excited about the deaf representation, since it’s not something we see often in sapphic romances. While I appreciated its presence, I did wish it had been more actively explored. Moments addressing it felt brief, and I would’ve loved to see more of Daisy’s lived experience; like her journey with her service dog or the everyday challenges she navigates. Because of that, the character growth didn’t feel as impactful as I had hoped.

When it comes to the romance, I really wanted it to work for me. The foundation is there, but a few things made it harder for me to fully believe in their relationship. Their “best friends” dynamic, for example, felt a bit uneven... Daisy didn’t seem to know important parts of Kaia’s past or childhood, which made their bond feel less deep than I personally expect from that label.

I also love a good friends-to-lovers yearning, but here it didn’t fully hit the emotional intensity I was hoping for. At times, it felt a little unbalanced, with one character’s feelings being more developed than the other’s. Daisy’s realization, in particular, leaned more toward physical attraction without as much emotional depth behind it, which made their connection feel slightly uneven. I would’ve loved to see more emotional growth from her so their relationship felt more grounded on both sides.

The miscommunication trope also plays a big role here, and while I know many readers enjoy it, it’s not my personal favorite. There were moments where it felt like things could have been resolved more easily with honest communication, which made some of the tension feel more frustrating than emotional for me. Even when they finally got together, I didn’t feel that sense of excitement I usually look for; it felt a bit underwhelming, almost like their dynamic stayed the same rather than evolving into something that felt bigger or more emotionally satisfying.

That said, I really loved the found family aspect of the story. Kaia’s friendships felt warm and supportive, and the glimpses we got of Daisy’s circle were just as sweet. Those moments added a lot of charm and heart to the book.

Overall, this romance didn’t fully click for me, but I can absolutely see how it could work for other readers. The concept is lovely, and the tropes are there for a reason. If you enjoy slow-burn stories about best friends slowly realizing they might be something more, this might be right up your alley.

Thank you to the author for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to the author for the ARC!

I really enjoyed this and loved the disability rep! I haven’t ever read a book where the MC has been deaf. It was interesting to read and see what Daisy had to go through due to this. I also loved how the author depicted how the MCs communicated during their intimate moments since they couldn't always sign.

I liked Daisy and Kaia together. They were great as best friends and great as girlfriends. While I think their insecurities are realistic, it did get a tad bit annoying and repetitive seeing them always doubt the others’ love for each other.

There was a lot of good found family and this is the third book on the universe that Elee Rose created, so other characters in the first two books made appearances. You don’t have to read the first two, but there are definitely spoilers for the first two in this, so that’s something to keep in mind when choosing this, especially if you are planning on trading the other two in The Sapphic in Seattle series. But it did make me
want to read the others more!

Honestly the ending made up for a lot of the back and forth/repetitiveness of the middle. It was adorable and satisfying to read. I would give this a solid 3.5 stars!

A slow burn that’ll have you screaming at the characters, The Best Part of You brings us Kaia and Daisy who are best friends that know they can count on each other. While they seem to be able to talk about anything under the sun, they collectively avoid the one thing they both want…which leads to a frustratingly slow burn. Even with their entire social circle are rooting for them, both Kaia and Daisy continue to dance around their situationship.

While there’s a disability rep, I felt that more could have been done to explore the dynamics of Kaia and Daisy’s communication. There were points where Daisy’s dialogue felt too long, too smooth for hand signs.

Though The Best Part of You is part of a series and we get to see snippets of characters from the previous books having the best time of their lives, I like that sufficient backstory was provided for new readers like myself.

Overall, this was an entertaining read between heavier books. If you like a best-friend-to-lovers slow burn, consider The Best Part of You!

“Don’t change who you are just because you want your circumstances to change.”

The Best Part of You” is the third installment of the Sapphic in Seattle series by Elee Rose, and this story was so wholesome!!! I want to thank Elee for allowing me to be a sensitivity reader toward the end of last year and for letting me read it before its release TODAY, March 24th!!!

One of the things that I really loved about this story was how Elee included important details from the previous two books in the series. If someone hadn’t read them, they would still get a bit of the history of all the characters and their relationships, which I think is a nice touch.

This story follows Kaia and Daisy’s budding relationship (yes, pun intended)! We previously met these two characters in the Sapphic in Seattle universe, and I love that we get to read their story; especially because Daisy is Deaf. As someone who is a part of the Deaf community, I’m always here to see more Deaf representation in books!

“I reached up and tenderly caressed her ear. “These. I love the fact that you’re deaf. That, Daisy, is the best part of you.”

I’ll be honest… while reading the story, I wanted to slap both Daisy and Kaia for not just talking to each other sooner! But I think the pining and the buildup of them finally being able to express themselves made it that much sweeter.

“Kaia, you don't know that. Nobody chooses me, okay? I can’t be loved. You deserve someone better. Someone who doesn’t have a disability. You should be with someone who isn’t broken.”

I absolutely loved that Elee constantly noted how they would both “tell” each other their feelings through their actions, even when the other didn’t quite know the depth of those feelings.

This was a fantastic continuation and addition to the Sapphic in Seattle series! Will there be more?! Will we maybe get Cara’s happily ever after?! I feel like it is hinted at a bit… I definitely can’t wait to find out!

If you’re a fan of forced proximity, slow-burn, best friends-to-lovers sapphic romances with Deaf representation, and you’re in the mood for something cozy yet emotional that has a HEA, “The Best Part of You” deserves a spot on your TBR!

Book three in the Sapphics in Seattle series! Wonderful, heartfelt story featuring our sweet Kaia and her now best friend, Daisy.

My wife is deaf and it was so lovely to read a story featuring a deaf MC. Some a Daisy’s struggles and discrimination feature in our lives and it’s always validating to have one’s experiences represented.

Kaia continues to be a sweetheart in this book. I loved the friendship and ease between her and Daisy. They had the foundation with friendship ‘chemistry’ that transitioned into deeper attraction when seeing each other in different ways. Forced proximity Is a glorious trope ;).

There’s a little teaser for the next book and I am so ready!

Recommend!!

The Best Part Of You is the third book in Rose's Sapphic In Seattle series. This slow burn, best friends to lovers, forced proximity, sapphic romance features Kaia Celeste Rhodes (aka Doodle) and Daisy Ann Fletcher (aka Sunny). It can be read as a standalone.

When Kaia's father unexpectedly dies from a heart attack, she knows she cannot return to the house she shared with him. Her best friend, Daisy, welcomes her into her home and supports her through her grief.

Kaia works at a bookstore which is where she met Daisy. She was instantly smitten and the two quickly became best friends. While Kaia's heart yearns for more, she would never risk the friendship she shares with Daisy. Everyone in Kaia's small circle of friends can see it; they see how she looks at Daisy when Daisy isn't looking. They also see how Daisy looks at Kaia, and continue to encourage her to say something. This is their story.

I liked the story. The connection Kaia and Daisy shared was realistic and believable. I also appreciated how Daisy, a deaf character, was portrayed. I found I had to keep reminding myself as their communication flowed seamlessly. Both Kaia and Daisy had relatable insecurities making them likable characters.

I also enjoyed the supporting cast. While I have not read the other books in the series, I suspect some of the couples who appear might have been the main characters in prior books. For those who read those books, there knowledge of those characters likely enhanced their reading and appreciation of this installment.

While reading, I noted a couple of contradictory elements which detracted from my overall enjoyment. I also felt like the book dragged on a little longer than necessary. Of course, those are just my thoughts.

I would rate this one 3 and a half stars. It was an enjoyable read with solid characters, but there were elements that felt repetitive, and aspects that felt unnecessary.

The Best Part of You is the third book in the Sapphic in Seattle series by Elee Rose. It is a standalone novel but contains spoilers for earlier books in the series. It is my first read by this author.
Best friends Kaia and Daisy spend most of their time together, and when Kaia's father passes away, Daisy immediately offers to let her stay in her home as long as she needs, while she sells her father's house and processes her grief. Unbeknownst to Daisy, Kaia has been in love with her for years, and she knows that moving in with someone she loves unrequitedly is probably a bad idea, but she can't say no.
Daisy is deaf, and she communicates using ASL. She also has an adorable puppy named Duke.
After Kaia moves in, something changes for Daisy, and suddenly, there is a mutual pining situation. Both of them were painfully oblivious and insecure. My feelings about them shifted from annoyance to endearment, then to frustration, and finally to relief. Sometimes I wanted to shake both of them. Both characters were likable and kind. They are very sweet and supportive of each other and are an adorable couple. There are many steamy scenes, and I liked how they communicate and care for each other during those times.
Trigger warning for the death of a parent described on page.
They both had strong found families and supportive parents.
The writing style was simple and sometimes repetitive.
It wasn't perfect, but this lighthearted, low-angst, syrupy sweet love story was entertaining.
I intend to read the other books in the series. I am giving this one 3.5 stars, rounded up.

ARC REVIEW
Duel 1st Person POV. 5🌟 3🌶️. 314 pages
6 Spicy Scenes

This book has definitely made its way into my favourites list when it comes to contemporary romance. I’m a sucker for a friends to lovers storyline as thats how my wife and I’s story began and this book warmed my heart!

The Best Part of You follows Kaia the co-owner of Drea’s bookstore and Daisy a freelance illustrator who have been best friends for years. When tragedy strikes and the two are forced into closer proximity by living together, will their secrets and feelings remain hidden or unrequited?

Everything about this book was perfect. Elee Rose knocked it out of the park for a third time. The friendship and relationship between Kaia and Daisy was adorable, sweet, fluffy and spicy in all the right ways. The way Elee wrote their first time together brought a tear to my eye and I don’t think I’ve ever cried while reading spice before, but I suppose there is a first time for everything. Kaia and Daisy have so much chemistry, that it almost jumps off the page and I would’ve gladly read another 100 pages of their story. I hope we get to see more of them and the rest of the characters in book 4, which I’m really looking forward to.

The Best Part of You will be released March 24th, do yourself a favour and add it to your TBR or be prepared for both sides of your pillow to always be warm!

I struggled a little at the start with this one. The writing, especially the dialogue, felt a bit flat to me in the beginning. That said, I was also reading it right after losing a friend, so I’m very aware that my headspace probably played a role there.

Once I settled into the story though, I really ended up enjoying it.

I absolutely loved the disability rep with Daisy. It felt thoughtful and genuine, and I really appreciated how Kaia and the rest of the characters made the effort to learn, adapt, and be inclusive. The signing, the communication, all of it just felt handled with care.

Daisy and Kaia are so cute together. I really liked that their relationship was rooted in an existing friendship. It made everything feel more grounded and meaningful, and I loved watching that shift from something familiar into something more. Their connection just worked for me.

The spicy scenes were also a highlight. I loved how they navigated consent in a way that didn’t interrupt the moment but still made it very clear and intentional. Consent is hot, always.

And honestly, the mutual pining? Elite. They were both so gone for each other and still somehow convinced themselves it wasn’t reciprocated. It was frustrating in the best way.

Overall, this is a really sweet book with lovable main characters. It balances heavier themes with softness and warmth, and by the end it genuinely left me smiling.

The Best Part of You left me conflicted. The premise looked promising, and the teaser I read in Right There All Along got me excited to read Kaia and Daisy’s story.

One thing I enjoyed the most was the deaf representation. It was great to see how Daisy navigated her day-to-day life and her dating life. The way Kaia and her communicated, especially during scenes of intimacy, was also a nice element.
Their relationship is sweet. They are always supportive of each other, so they truly feel like they are each other’s person.

The story in itself was good, but there is something about it that left me unsatisfied, something about how the relationship between the characters is brought up and developed. I had the same feeling reading Right There All Along.
For such close best friends, Daisy is missing important information on Kaia’s family and her past, which is a bit odd.

I still ended up enjoying The Best Part of You more than the previous installment of the Sapphic in Seattle series.

ARC Review — The Best Part of You by Elee Rose
(3.75 stars)

This was my first book by Elee Rose, and there was a lot that I did like and some little parts that I didn’t.

The disability representation felt thoughtful and respectful. I genuinely appreciated how they were woven into the story.

Both main characters were easy to like, and their journey had a sweetness to it that I enjoyed. I’m always drawn to low‑angst characters, and I loved the way they supported each other and created a safe space to be vulnerable. There was the odd disconnect for me though.

The romance leans heavily into slow burn/friends to lovers, and while the forbidden element of ‘we can’t risk the friendship’ tension can be charming, it did start to feel a touch repetitive throughout the book in a frustrating way.

I didn’t realise this was the third book in a series, which is on me. Even so, I was able to follow along well without too much trouble, though I would recommend reading the first two books as it would help fill in some context (and avoid a few spoilers). This didn’t affect my rating.

Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read this ARC. I’m leaving this review voluntarily.

Probably my favorite of the Sapphic in Seattle series! These two were ADORABLE!
I fell in love with them. I'm a sucker for a friends-to-lovers story anyway, but this was a beautiful twist on that.
I also loved how much we got to visit with the characters from the previous two books. It's the best sapphic found family, I just love all of them so much. Them and all their horny drama..!
Speaking of, the spicy scenes in this one were drool worthy. Very well done and such a great pairing. Aside from them both having a bit of cheesy self pity type of thoughts all the time.. But that's just something else they have in common.

Thank you so much for the eARC of this one. 🤟

This is the 3rd book of the series and wow do they just keep getting cuter! I’d say it can be read as a stand alone but having read the other two books it helps as there are spoilers. Especially with the reoccurring characters.
I absolutely loved the disability rep in this book. Having to read about the struggles Daisy has to face with being deaf and the way people treat her was awful, but knowing Kaia was there to support was so heart warming.
I love the found family the series has created and how everyone can’t seem to keep their hands from each other! Horny buggers… the lot of them!
Cute, heart warming read. Solid 5 stars

Thank you so much for the eARC, it was truly wonderful 🥰

I had the chance to beta and ARC read this one, and it was a sweet, heartfelt addition to the Sapphic in Seattle world. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for an emotional, character-driven romance that’s filled with soft moments, a friends-to-lovers dynamic, and ALL the feels.

Kaia and Daisy’s relationship builds in a really tender way, and it leaned into a quiet, intimate kind of romance rather than big, dramatic gestures. I especially loved getting to revisit familiar faces from previous books and see how everyone’s stories continued to grow and intertwine. Overall this was an enjoyable sweet read!

Kaia and Daisy are sweet and lovely. The third book in the Sapphic in Seattle, it feels a bit like the third book in a series, these are characters we've been introduced too in other books that finally get their turn at love in this friends to lovers tale. The yearning is real, the uncertainty and fear wrapped around being in love with your best friend is sooo relatable, am I right sapphics? This addition to the series felt a little like the second season of a TV show that hasn't quite hit its stride, the characters you love from the first season are there, the writing is there, but not quite what it was in the first season. I'm looking forward to the 4th and final installment.

Thank you Elee Rose and Flying Pig Pr for the eARC!

I loved everything about Kaia and Daisy’s story! Them not wanting to “ruin” their friendship was something relatable. All their friends could see they each had feelings for each other, but they couldn’t see that themselves since they were more concerned about keeping their feelings inside and keeping the other in their life even if that was just as friends. Their nicknames and getting to know the meaning behind them was one of my favorite parts of the book.

Now time to check out the first two books in Sapphic in Seattle!

Oh my goodness. I absolutely fell in love with the characters in this book. This has been hands down one of my favorite series and every time a new book comes out it even better than the one before. I freaking adored the relationship between Daisy and Kaia. I loved how inclusive and mindful Kaia was without even thinking about it. Friends to lovers can be hit or miss for me but this was a home run! I got all the feelings from this and then some. And when the spice hit, oh my. Absolutely a must read!

Firstly, I am very grateful to have been granted an ARC; however, that will not affect my honest review.

As someone with a disability, I am so tired of the “my disability makes me unlovable” trope. Here, I thought it was also disingenuous to the characters. I’m just disappointed that this is the way that the book went. Overall, I liked the storyline but it was a bit of a slow read for me as well.

It’s the 3rd book in the series, Sapphics in Seattle. Pssst, read the first two.

I enjoyed this book and really didn’t want to put it down. I love the disability rep! Seeing the struggles of Daisy, but also the support from Kaia. They both fiercely protect each other. The way they communicate with each other, not just as friends but lovers as well, is amazing.

Both Daisy and Kaia are adorable together. The way they don’t want to ruin their friendship and the back and forth on feelings, brings the even more to life.

The found family is strong in this book. I love how it weaves all of the characters from the first two into it. Elee Rose has created another wonderful book. And it can’t wait for the fourth book.

Thank you for the ARC!

Ooooooh, this is the first book I read from this author. And I’m in love. Kaia and Daisy were so wonderful. Both of them say sweet and caring. I loved their friendship. I loved the incorporation of the disability. This was just so beautifully written. The depth and emotion. Once I started I couldn’t put it down. This was so good. Loved it so much.

I'm not deaf, but I am disabled, and I must say that I really, really love it when authors do a good job of showing people with disabilities.

And this book is a great example of just that.

I really need to go back and read Elee's other two books to find out about Drea & Blair and Fallen & McKenzie.

Now, without any prior knowledge of the universe, I still felt like I understood enough of the character's back stories to enjoy the book.

Kaia is our suddenly alone MC, who is immediately taken in by Daisy, our deaf yet still supportive MC. Their friendship is so pure and genuine. Daisy was just what Kaia needed.

Their journey was sometimes a little frustrating, but knowing that they both had bad relationships in the past, I don't blame them. Knowing that they each loved one another but couldn't say anything was a lot, but it was handled with a lot of care.

That Christmas party, though. Changed everything for both women. And boy, was it steamy. Their beautiful friendship just turned into more, which was great.

The story was an emotional one, but every page was handled with care and well thought out. I can't wait to read more by Elee.

Elee had me sobbing and pining along with her characters. I feel like this was the most cozy of the three books so far, while the first two were quite dramatic. I worried at first that Daisy and Kaia's romance would be too easy, but there was plenty of tension because both characters felt like their loves could never be requited, and would get in their own ways. I love Daisy and Kaia together so much, they are my new favorite book girlfriends of 2026, just so adorable and sweet. <3 Thank you Elee Rose!!! <3

What an adorable story! Loved Kaia’s and Daisy's relationship and how they were each other’s safe space before anything romantic happened. I loved that Daisy’s disability made their bond stronger and Duke was simply the cutest.
