Country singer Savannah Webb enjoyed some success in Nashville before her career plateaued. Today, thanks to some decisions she’d like to do over, she’s single, pregnant, and alone. Yet she’s determined to survive the holidays and safely deliver her baby girl and then place her in a loving, secure home—something she never had.

Former Army Ranger Finn Campbell has signed on for a stint as a contract soldier while investing in a new tech startup that could be his future, but there are never guarantees for a soldier in the Middle East. Before he’s due to fly out on his mission, Finn decides to spend his leave at the Campbell family’s Montana ranch.

Finn is shocked to instead meet Savannah, housesitting for his family so late in her pregnancy. Their bond surprises them, and he promises to be her support until she no longer needs him. But their growing attraction complicates their short-term agreement to share the ranch for Christmas, and opposing commitments are tugging them apart. Can they find a compromise—and more?

Born in Visalia, California, I'm a small town girl at heart. I love central California's golden foothills, oak trees, and the miles of farmland. In my mind, there's nothing sweeter in the world than the heady fragrance of orange blossoms on a sultry summer night.

As a little girl I spent hours on my bed, staring out the window, dreaming of far off places, fearless knights, and happy-ever-after endings. In my imagination I was never the geeky bookworm with the thick coke-bottle glasses, but a princess, a magical fairy, a Joan-of-Arc crusader.

My parents fed my imagination by taking our family to Europe for a year when I was thirteen. The year away changed me (I wasn't a geek for once!) and overseas I discovered a huge and wonderful world with different cultures and customs. I loved everything about Europe, but felt especially passionate about Italy and those gorgeous Italian men (no wonder my first very Presents hero was Italian).

I confess, after that incredible year in Europe, the travel bug bit, and bit hard. I spent much of my high school and college years abroad, studying in South Africa, Japan and Ireland. South Africa remains a country of my heart, the people, the land and politics complex and heart-wrenching.

After my years of traveling and studying I had to settle down and earn a living. With my Bachelors degree from UCLA in American Studies, a program that combines American literature and American history, I've worked in sales and marketing, as well as a director of a non-profit foundation. Later I earned my Masters in Writing from the University of San Francisco and taught jr. high and high school English.

I now live in Seattle and Hawaii with my three sons. I never mind a rainy day, either, because that's when I sit at my desk and write stories about far-away places, fascinating people, and most importantly of all, love. I like a story with a happy ending. We all do.

A Soldier’s Promise is a beautiful and heartwarming story. It is the third book in Jane Porter’s fabulous series, The Calhouns & Campbells of Cold Canyon Ranch. The book is set in Marietta, Montana right before Christmas. Our heroine is Savannah Webb. She is 38 weeks pregnant and is dog sitting for her friends while they go to Texas to spend the holidays with her family. A huge snowstorm is set to hit. Savannah notices Mick the dog is not acting right and contacts the owners. She learns that her friend’s brother Finn Campbell is in Marietta to do some security installations and look after his uncle’s ranch while he’s in Texas. He will check on Mick. After he arrives, a large tree falls, causing damage. The two leave and go to his uncle’s ranch with Mick. The next morning they take him to the vet where it is determined he needs surgery.

Savannah plans to give her baby up for adoption to a couple she previously selected. The baby’s father died several months ago in a car accident. She had not told him about the pregnancy and she hadn’t decided what to do about it either when he died. Previously she had been pregnant and had an abortion when she learned the baby’s father might not survive and then ended up paralyzed. She didn’t tell Bear, the father that she was pregnant and then had an abortion. They broke up when she told him what she did. Savannah doesn’t believe she would be a good mother and she feels she’s made some bad decisions that she’s not happy about. She is a country singer and has put her career on hold while she goes through the pregnancy.

Finn was an army ranger but has finished his duty. Now he has a contract as a civilian soldier in the Middle East beginning in January. After meeting Savannah he feels a strange attraction to her. He feels protective and has compassion for all she has experienced and what is ahead for her. He starts by cooking for her and making sure she is safe and warm. He insists they decorate for Christmas to make it festive. They spend time talking about their pasts and she forces herself to be honest about her relationships and feelings. Finn initially promised to make sure Savannah stays okay and he worries that he won’t be keeping his promise when he leaves for his job. Savannah begins to second guess her plan to give her daughter up for adoption. She does a lot of soul searching and realizes she loves Finn and doesn’t want him to go.

This story is full of romance and hope and some angst. Finn and Savannah make a wonderful couple. I enjoyed seeing her growth as a character from the prior book. It is fun that the family members we’ve met in the first two books are in this story as well. Jane’s books are always so beautifully written with lots of heart and love. This book is a great example of that! I love seeing Savannah care for her new daughter. This is a book I am thrilled to recommend and give it 5 stars.

I was fortunate to receive this ARC from Tule Publishing Company in exchange for my honest review.

A Soldier’s Promise is a touching and uplifting novel, the third installment in The Calhouns & Campbells of Cold Canyon Ranch by Jane Porter. The story takes place in Marietta, Montana just before Christmas.

The main character, Savannah Webb, is 38 weeks pregnant and staying at a friend’s home, caring for their dog while they travel to Texas for the holidays. As a major snowstorm approaches, Savannah notices the dog, Mick, behaving strangely and contacts her friends. She learns that Finn Campbell, her friend’s brother, is in town handling security work and watching over his uncle’s ranch. He agrees to check on Mick. When Finn arrives, a falling tree causes damage, prompting them to relocate to his uncle’s ranch with the dog. The following day, they take Mick to the vet and discover he needs surgery.

Savannah has arranged to place her baby for adoption with a couple she previously chose. The baby’s father passed away in a car accident months earlier, before she had told him about the pregnancy or decided what to do. In the past, she faced another difficult pregnancy and chose abortion when she feared the father might not survive an accident that left him paralyzed. That relationship ended after she told him. Carrying guilt and doubt, Savannah believes she may not be suited for motherhood. A country singer, she has paused her career during her pregnancy.

Finn, a former Army Ranger, is preparing to begin a civilian contract overseas in the Middle East in January. After meeting Savannah, he feels an unexpected pull toward her, along with a strong sense of protectiveness and empathy. He supports her by cooking, making sure she’s comfortable, and encouraging a festive holiday atmosphere by decorating for Christmas. As they spend time together, Savannah opens up about her past and her emotions. Finn had promised to look after her, but he begins to worry about leaving her behind when he departs for his job.

As their bond deepens, Savannah starts to reconsider her decision about adoption. Through reflection and emotional growth, she realizes both her love for Finn and her uncertainty about letting her child go.

The novel blends romance, hope, and emotional tension beautifully. Finn and Savannah’s relationship is compelling, and Savannah’s personal growth—especially for readers familiar with earlier books in the series—is satisfying to watch. The return of familiar characters adds to the charm, and Jane Porter’s signature warmth and heartfelt storytelling shine throughout. Watching Savannah embrace her role as a mother is especially rewarding. Overall, it’s a deeply moving story and an easy five-star recommendation.

A SOLDIER’S PROMISE by Jane Porter
Release Date March 24, 2026
(The Calhouns & Campbells of Cold Canyon Ranch #3)

Wow! Jane you outdid yourself with this one. I see your heart in this story. Thank you 🩷

This is Savanah Webb country singer. This is her redemption story.! and who’s better than Former Army Ranger Finn Campbell to share the story with her.

Finn’s sister Ansley is out of town and she wants him to check on her dog. The dog/house sitter who just so happens to be Savanah said that the dog is not acting himself and she’s a little worried. Savanah‘s not just any woman dog sitting she happens to be very pregnant!

Neither Savanah or Finn had any plans for a relationship. Then plans to go back to the Middle East for 18 months. Not as a soldier this time but for a project that he’s working on, but that doesn’t make it any less dangerous. Savanah is pregnant and alone her babies daddy died in a tragic car accident and she just doesn’t feel she has it in her to be a good mother. And she wants the best for her baby girl so she plans to give her up for adoption.

That’s the basis of this story. But the thing I got the most from the story is LOVE. Not just between Savanah and Finn. But from all of the Campbell’s and Calhouns. Jane all I can say is wow! And this is why I say your heart really shows in this one. I don’t want to give any more away. But I do want to express that five stars doesn’t do this one justice. And it comes out tomorrow and I highly recommend you run to the store and you get this one. It is a part of a series, you won’t have the background, but Jane does a very good with not leaving things hang. Even though you haven’t read the rest of the series this one definitely can be read as a standalone and Jane will take you through their important parts so that you will not feel lost. Definitely could be read as a standalone. 🩷

Savannah’s singing career has always come first. She never wanted to be a mother, yet here she is, pregnant and alone. She has spent her time reviewing her life’s choices and it’s made her determined to provide the best possible life for her unborn child, and to do that, she has found an adoptive family for her. Finn Campbell has time before his next assignment, and heads to Montana to avoid the big family Christmas and another confrontation with his father. When his sister sends him to check on her house sitter and dog, he’s shocked to find Savannah: alone, only a few weeks from delivering, with a sick dog, and a blizzard bearing down. When the weather forces them to share a house, they find a friendship and understanding, and, ultimately, each realizes that the choices they made in the past don’t define who they are and can be changed, if they want to take a chance on a new path.
Savannah’s character was developed beautifully in this story. She had regrets and guilt, and we find out more about her past and what led her to be the person she projected, the person who put herself first, but still felt she wasn’t worthy or deserving of a different life. Finn gave her the confidence to choose a different path and expect more for herself. You will have to read and find out what that path is and whether Finn has the courage to follow suit.
A SOLDIER’S PROMISE is book three in Jane Porter’s THE CALHOUNS & CAMPBELLS OF COLD CANYON RANCH series, and, though it stands alone, you revisit characters from the first two stories. Don’t miss this one! I couldn’t put it down and flew through it.
Thanks to the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read an early copy of this novel. All opinions are my own and freely given.

A Soldier’s Promise
Book 3 in Calhoun & Campbells of Cold Canyon Ranch
By: Jane Porter

✨Savannah is staying at the Campbell family ranch until she delivers her baby. She is single and determined to have this baby and give it to a good two parent home. The baby’s daddy Noah is deceased and she is not confident that she would be a good mom on her own.

💫While at the ranch dog sitting sweet little Mick, Finn Campbell shows up at his sister Ansley’s house only to find Savannah very pregnant and alone. They “kind of” instantly hit it off. Jane Porter writes the best dialogue in her books. The banter between Savannah and Finn is just enough, but not too much, and it boosts their relationship to new levels with every chapter!

✨There was one poignant point in the story that was written beautifully. It was during the birth of Savannah’s baby. I won’t share it as I don’t want this to contain spoilers. The emotions and situations during the stay at the hospital are heartwarming yet complicated.

💫I love that characters from previous books come in and out. They are all such great additions to this particular story. You don’t have to read the other books in the series to fully understand and enjoy this one. This book will leave you wanting more of the Calhouns, Sheenans and Campbells. It will also have you wishing you could visit a real town like Marietta. In this town, every business including the little restaurant is a place of familiarity and family. Fabulous!

What happens when the music stops and you feel like life and success won't find you again. Then you find that your whole life is about to change a big life decisions have to be made. Country singer and song writer Savannah Webb finds that she is pregnant and alone, until she comes to this small Montana community and finds the home and friendships she has always craved is at her fingertips and will put the music back in her heart and soul.

Finn Campbell has left the Army as a former Army Ranger and has come to Montana to the Campbell ranch before he goes back as a civil contractor. He did not except to find a pregnant woman and a sick dog days before Christmas who is housesitting and dog sitting for his sister... And he sure didn't know he would be so attracted to Savannah and want to look after her.. Which she wants no part of, but when a near disaster happens, she has no choice but to let him help and she sure did not need to be feeling the things she has never felt before. Is it Love or just lust...Does he stay or does he go.

I really loved this book. Savannah was so strong and determined to make the right decisions for her child, but at the same time it was breaking her heart. It make me weep for and Finn OMG you want him in your corner for sure when the going gets rough. He can't help it he is just a take charge kind of guy. It's what he does. This book will make you lol and yet shed some tears, so have a tissue at the ready. Great feel good story.

A Soldier’s Promise (Book 3 of The Calhouns and Campbells of Cold Canyon Ranch) - Jane Porter
What a wonderful story about Savannah Webb and Finn Campbell. Savannah was a country singer who didn’t quite reach the level of success she would have liked to and now she is pregnant and alone just waiting for her child to born so she can give her to a family who will give her a perfect life. She is taking care of her friend’s house and dog during the Christmas holiday.
Finn is finished with his stint as an Army Ranger and will be taking care of his uncle’s house during the holidays while the family is away. Perfect for him since is leaving the end of January for the Middle East to work as a contract soldier.
He arrives in Montana during a huge snowstorm and heads right over to the house where Savannah is staying to check on the dog who is not feeling well. He certainly did not expect Savannah who is at the end of her pregnancy. When the power goes out due to the storm Savannah heads back to his ranch to wait out the storm.
After getting to know Savannah, Finn promises to support her through everything during their short term arrangement but as the attraction between them grows the situation becomes more complicated. Will their feelings continue to grow and will they be able to sort out all their issues?
A definite must read to find out where this relationship ends.

I would like to thank Jane Porter for the E ARC of her latest book, which is book 3 in the Calhouns and Campbells of Cold Canyon Ranch series.
I read this book in a day, it drew me in so much.
Savannah Is spending the holiday season alone, pregnant, house and dog sitting for her friend Ansley. She has never felt so lonely in all her life and is not looking forward to the coming weeks. When Ansley’s dog is not being his usual self she starts to worry but help is at hand.
Ansley had asked her brother Finn to check on Savannah when he gets to town. With the snow storm being so bad a tree falls on the house and Savannah has no option in accepting Finns offer of staying in the family ranch house with him.
The more time they spend together, getting to know each other’s story and enjoying the company, the more their bond grows. What will happen once the baby arrives? Will Finn take up his latest operation as a contract soldier?
I loved this book, the characters were so well written, I loved the faith aspect of as well. The plotline was great, I loved seeing Savannah come into herself and grow. She also learnt to trust herself and others again. Finn grew as well, realising what he wanted in life and what it would all mean to him.
I look forward to the next book in this series.

This is a very sweet love story between an honorable soldier and a down on her luck pregnant country singer. Savannah is dog sitting for Finn’s sister and brother in law when there is some damage to the house from a snowstorm. Finn takes Savannah to the family ranch. He’s taking a break before he starts a job overseas. The dog is sick. Finn is a protector and a helper. He helps Savannah and also feels obligated since she’s close to giving birth.

The attraction between Savannah and Finn is very organic. The pacing and conflict in this story were great! I was hooked from start to finish. I fell in love with both of the characters. They had internal conflict and strong character growth!! As usual, Jane Porter delivered an emotionally charged story that gave us all the feels. Savannah is in a very tough place at the start of the story. She has to make some very tough decisions in her life. This story was real and raw and tugged at all my heartstrings. I feel like Finn is exactly what Savannah needed in her life. I loved how Jane Porter delivered us a unique and wonderful story. This is my favorite book out of the series! I received this book from Tule Publishing. All opinions are my own.

Savannah is pregnant and alone for the holidays, pet and house sitting for friends, and contemplating life decisions that brought her to this place in life. She wants what is best for her baby, and has made choices, because she thinks she wouldn't be a good mother.
Finn is in town between assignments, former military-turned-contract soldier. He stops by and checks on Savannah and the dog, when a tree falls during the storm and forces them to leave.
They take shelter at the home of a friend, and spending time together during the holidays gives them different perspectives on things, and the close proximity brings out feelings. Finn helps her see her situation differently, and Savannah helps Finn see there's more than one way to live his life.
As their feelings deepen, and the baby is born, Finn makes promises to Savannah and encourages her to reach out to the baby's grandparents. He becomes her support system, something she's never had.
With deadlines looming, they must make decisions on their feelings and if they will form a forever family, complete with love.
A heartfelt romance with all the feels of love, friendship, and found family.

Savannah is pregnant and alone. She questions her past decisions. Her career is in limbo. She jumps at the chance to house/dog sit for a friend over the holiday. Finn decides to skip the family holiday trip and to spend the time working on the family ranch. With the storm rolling in his sister asks him to check in on the house sitter. The last thing he expects to find is a beautiful very pregnant woman. He stays with her until the storm forces them to head to his family ranch. Now they are spending time together and getting to know each other. Sometimes it is easier to be honest and real with someone you don't know. His attraction and protectiveness are the strongest he has ever felt. He promises himself that he will be there for her. He plans to go back to active duty to help save up for his start-up company. She wants to return to Nashville and revivie her career. She has decisions to make. He wants to change her mind. Can love make them see the future that is within their reach? I really enjoyed this book. In the previous book Bear's Heart Savannah is not a very lovable character. It was nice to see how she has grown and how she was able to redeem herself.

Jane Porter's: A Soldier's Promise is a delightful story that helps us remember that we all have room to grow, learn, and stretch ourselves towards our better selves. That although flawed, as we all are, second chances can come along and it is ok to accept them. That alone is an element of growing... learning to accept help/guidance/wisdom from others... the characters you will meet in this story can easily be considered flawed, depending on your own personal views/opinions/beliefs, but it is part of what makes them endearing and relatable. It is also why you will find yourself rooting for them as individuals and otherwise. There are sweet and tender moments that strike the heart and others that are a bit harder to look at, but are equally as important. Jane has done what she does best, yet again, delivered a tale that not only entertains, but makes you think, feel, consider, reconsider, and revisit things in your own life and self... one might say adding to moments of growth within ourselves by what she shares with us and how we navigate her stories and allow them to become a part of us.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book, given to me by Tule Publishing via BookFunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A tender love story between a woman seeking absolution and a dependable, grounded hero full of compassion, “A Soldier’s Promise”, by Jane Porter, is a very slow-burn romance with some cute dimensions.
I liked the building of affection and intimacy between a very lost heroine, Savannah, and the steady, reliable hero, Finn.
Savannah’s situation is difficult and unusual in romance novels and I liked how the author handled it. The sense of guilt, the grief and the need for redemption are central in the heroine’s character.
I loved Finn’s personality, how he’s such a solid, grounded, pragmatical character, emanating “calm and confidence” and therefore contributing for Savannah’s comfort and sense of peace.
I adored the combination of brawn and brains in Finn’s character and the fact he declares he’s not a cowboy, which is a refreshing detour from the stereotype.
I also enjoyed their interactions and watching them doing mundane things together and bonding.
The pregnancy and birth, the singing, the secondary characters and the fondness between them are also interesting dimensions.

A Soldier’s Promise brings together two strong, independent people, neither of whom wants a relationship. Of course their forced proximity over Christmas has a big hand in changing all that. Country singer Savannah is heavily pregnant with her dead boyfriend’s baby and has plans to adopt her out at birth. She’s strong but life hasn’t been easy for her and she’s not about to trust another man to leave her … which is exactly what former soldier turned military contractor Finn Campbell would do if she let him into her heart. Finn has plans for his future that involve doing several overseas contracts as a security specialist in order to garner enough funds to set up his own security company back home. Getting involved is not in his plans because involvement means emotional commitment, which means he can’t be 100 per cent focused on his work. Unfortunately for both Finn and Savannah, a chain of events means she ends up spending several nights in the guest room of the house Finn is minding for his brother, who is away for Christmas, Finn is gorgeous, even if he is complex. He’s a perfect gentleman, ensuring Savannah is safe, warm and well fed. Yes, this guy can cookm and do it well. Savannah is tangled up with emotions over her impending delivery and subsequent loss of the baby she’s tried hard not to bond with. I loved the fences she put up to keep Finn away and the effortless way he bulldozed them down. This book is a deeply emotional romance, but it is also strongly about famuly and faith and finding God when you think he’s not there. It’s perfect reading for the challenging times we find ourselves living in right now.

A Soldier's Promise~ The Calhouns & Campbells of Cold Canyon Ranch, # 3 by Jane Porter.

Jane Porter once again delivers an exceptional and engaging story in A Soldier’s Promise, the third installment in The Calhouns & Campbells of Cold Canyon Ranch series. Her writing is consistently compelling, with well-developed characters who feel authentic and fully realised, making it easy to become completely immersed in the story.

This instalment follows Finn Campbell and country singer Savannah Webb. Savannah finds herself house- and dog-sitting for Finn’s sister, a former Army Ranger, home during the holiday season. As the story unfolds, Jane weaves emotion, romance, and depth, creating a narrative that is both heartfelt and enjoyable.

The book is beautifully written, with a strong and engaging storyline that keeps the reader invested from beginning to end. It is a fantastic addition to an already outstanding series.

Former Army Ranger Finn Campbell is home on leave before he goes back to the Middle East as an 18 month contract soldier. Ansley asked her brother to stop at the house & check on Savannah & her sick dog Mick. There’s a snowstorm happening,a tree falls and takes out the power. Finn takes Savannah to the Uncles family ranch with him. There’s an instantaneous attraction between the two of them, even though she’s about to give birth. Many changes happen when baby Noel arrives…make sure you get a copy of this amazing book, release day is 3-25. I have enjoyed every book that I’ve read ,that’s been based in Marietta. Jane Porter has written an emotionally satisfying book with characters that I liked and could relate to. Savannah Webb is alone and pregnant. She's house sitting with Mick, her friend's dog. She unsettled and anxious. She made a difficult decision regarding her soon to born baby. Finn Campbell is planning to spend the Christmas holidays at his family's Montana ranch. When asked to help Savannah, he agrees and is there for her when the weather causes problems. The time they spend together lets them become close. It's a very natural developing relationship. I was drawn into their story. I found it touching. Finn is a reliable, honorable man. I know that Savannah could count on him. I wanted them to find happiness together and become a family. I couldn't put this book down. This is the 3rd book in The Calhouns and Campbells of Cold Canyon Ranch series. A Soldier's Promise is a great addition to this series.

What a perfectly wonderful story. Two very strong MC's who are thrown together almost by accident. A sick dog, a blizzard, and a black-out have Savannah and Finn co-habiting over the the Christmas season. As they get to know each other more, they still have very strong feelings about what they must do after the holidays as they move forward in two very different directions.

Savannah lost the father of her baby in an accident and has decided to give the baby up for adoption so she can try to get her music career back on track. Finn, after leaving the military, has decided to go back to the Middle East as a civilian to make some quick money. They are both having second thoughts about their choices.

A well told story about personal growth and sometimes what you think is right for you, may not be. The ending will warm your heart.

This is the 3rd story in the series.
It is the story of Savannah Webb and Finn Campbell. Savannah is a country singer. Finn is a former Army ranger.
Savannah's singing career has went its course. Now she’s single, pregnant, and alone. She house sits while she awaits the birth of the baby she plans to give up for adoption. FInn decides to spend time on his family's Montana ranch before heading out on a mission to the Middle East.
Finn is shocked to meet Savannah, so late in her pregnancy at the family's home. They quickly develop a bond and he promises to be her support until she no longer needs him. Their attraction grows and complicates their short-term agreement. Commitments are tugging at both of them. Can they find a compromise? Can there be more?
I loved the heart put into this story. It was wonderful to read and see how the couple grew and found love.

Savannah has had a hard time for which she blames herself but really it all happened accidentally and she shouldnt be blaming herself. Now she's very pregnant, dog sitting for her friend over the Christmas period. The dog becomes ill and her friend, Ansley, contacts her brother, Finn, to call in and check on her. He's left the Rangers and is about to go away for eighteen months to make money to set up his business.
He arrives and starts helping her, she's lost, convinced that shell be a bad mother as hers wasn't very loving or supportive.
Finn is great but a bit blinkered, he doesn't seem to realise that he's falling in love with her!
Savannah won't accept anything but love, she's had her ups and downs with it.
Can they reach an agreement?

I know this book is listed as Book 3 of 3, The Calhouns & Campbells of Cold Canyon Ranch, but don't let that fool you. It reads like a standalone as you meet and fall in love with the main characters in my favorite fictional town of Marietta, Montana.
How do you not melt over a former Army Ranger like Finn Campbell? Gorgeous, responsible and dedication to family and country. When his sister asks him to stop and check in on the house slash dog sitter as he comes into town during a blinding snowstorm, the dominoes of surprises and one woman's incredible journey as pregnant and single this Christmas start to topple.
If you want to know more of Savannah Finn's back story, pick up a copy of "Bear's Heart."

This is my favorite book in the series. While it is not necessary to read the other two books before this one, I did have an opinion about Savannah Webb before reading this book. It was not a good opinion. But life causes people to take actions that they may later regret and are not necessarily indicative of them. This book changed my mind about Savannah. Finn Campbell is exactly what he seems to be – an upstanding, stubborn individual who served his country as a soldier. This story has so many heart-warming, tear-inducing scenes. Finn and Savannah meet before Christmas when Savannah is eight months pregnant and dog-sitting Mick at Mick’s place, and Finn arrives at the house to check on it and unexpectedly meets Savannah and a sick Mick. What follows is a story of redemption, faith, and love. I voluntarily read an advance copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A Soldier’s Promise by Jane Porter (The Calhouns & Campbells of Cold Canyon Ranch Book 3) is a serious yet enjoyable story that looks at unexpected challenges in life. The last book where Savannah is introduced was along the same lines but this time it is an unexpected addition to one’s life. Former Army Ranger Finn Campbell only expects to be home for a short visit . Meeting country singer Savannah Webb was never on his radar, especially not to want to find a solution to her major decision. Likeable characters in an authentic situation will keep you reading as it did me. Jane Porter take real life and puts in in a well-plotted story so that you love the characters and are invested in their lives’ outcomes.

Book 3 of The Calhouns & Campbells of Cold Canyon Ranch seems. Can be read as a standalone.

'But their growing attraction complicates their short-term agreement to share the ranch for Christmas, and opposing commitments are tugging them apart. Can they find a compromise—and more?'

The characters were so very appealing and likeable and complicated and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building was solidly drawn and impressive. All in all a great addition to the series. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

A must-read for romance fans.

This is a beautifully written story about fate bringing two people together, who probably never would have crossed paths.

Savannah and Finn were total opposites, but brought out the best in each other. Savannah was set in her ways and refused to love another military man, but Finn proved he was different and could be counted on to be around forever. I couldn’t wait to see how this book turned out. I went through quite a few emotions while reading it too. This is a book that I highly recommend to anyone who loves a good romance and a great storyline and memorable characters that feel real.

A Soldier’s Promise is book 3 in Jane Porter’s Calhouns & Campbells of Cold Canyon Ranch series. While this book can be read as a stand-alone, I much prefer to read it in series order. When Savannah is introduced in book 2, Bear’s Heart, I was not a fan of her; however, within the first couple of chapters, my opinion of her completely changed. Savanah’s self-doubts, as well as the losses she has endured, made her so relatable. Finn was the perfect match for her with his caring, take-care-of-others attitude. He quickly became one of my favorite characters. This book was an emotional journey I wasn’t expecting, and I loved reading it. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

I have goosebumps or horripillition from reading this book. It is so good and poignant. Finn and Savannah found what they both didn’t think they wanted or needed. This is one of the best love stories I’ve ever read. It is honest and powerful. Savannah was making decisions because she felt like she had no choice but Finn helped Savannah realize that she was ready and worthy of love and to be loved. I am not giving spoilers because you really need to read how 2 people can find their true selves and destiny together. I highly recommend this book!.

Savannah and Finn meet when he drops in at the house where she is dog sitting. When a huge tree falls on the house she and the dog go to stay with Finn where he is house sitting for his sister. Snow and events happen from there as they get to know each other and deal with issues in their heads.
This is a wonderful story about self expectations, grieving, life choices and opening yourself up to letting love in. I really enjoyed the characters, both main and secondary, as well as the setting of the town. A fabulous book!.

his was a fun story about a pregnant country singer and a gentleman soldier. I didn’t want it to end.
I really enjoyed the characters. Savannah’s character was one of my favorites. She is tough and certainly doesn’t give up easily even though her life hasn’t always been a picnic. Finn was a good character too. He wasn’t looking for romance, just trying to help Savannah deal with a sick dog. He has big plans for his future, and being tied down wasn’t on that list. But mother nature’s unpredictability threw these two together and chemistry and attraction don’t necessarily care about your life plans.
This was a sweet romance and a wonderful addition to the Calhouns & Campbells series.

Oh my goodness!! This book was emotional and absolutely wonderful. Finn and Savannah's first meeting was a little prickly, to say the least! He was at the house to check on his sister's dog, who wasn't feeling well, and she was there dog sitting and VERY pregnant! Due to a snowstorm and a falling tree, she ends up going with Finn to where he is staying. What follows is so emotional. She has a lot of self doubt and feels like she would make a terrible mom, her's wasn't great! Finn sees beneath that to her strength underneath. I laughed, I definitely cried a bunch, and fell in love with this sweet couple. It made me appreciate the love I have around me that lifts me and is just steady.
