This was such a fun spicy/monster/romantic suspense ( or suspense adjacent) read.

Rose is a human waitress with a dark past. When she bumps into and gets coffee spilled all over her favorite shirt by a super hot Rhun Daanan (iykyk) look-a-like, life as she knows it gets shaken up.

A murder, an attack and a deal later, Rose is helping Bastian with his case. As they go along their attraction gets sharper and harder to resist. is it just lust or something more?

I loved the slight mystery of this one, how the couple teams up and works to solve the case. It was definitely a very different take on the monster romance I've read before, there was still the alpha, possessive hero that we all love. 4.5 stars! I'm taking that half star off because of the change from first person to third when we would go from Rose's POV to Bastian's it was kinda jarring and would take me out of the story for a minute.

I definitely recommend this one for monster/alien romance lovers. Lovers of spice and anyone looking for a fun read that's just a bit different.

This was sort of fun and I think fans of Crescent City and Bride would enjoy this as it draws heavily on the two series for inspiration. I enjoyed the lore but felt disappointed that it was only ever presented on a surface level, and I would liked to have seen more explanation of the magic system. I also felt the antagonist’s motivations were not clear or convincing. Overall, it is a book with promise but unfortunately it missed the mark for me.

I loved this book! Good amount of smut and suspense! I loved the main character’s relationship. His protectiveness makes me swoon! Can I have a man that cooks me groan worthy pancakes every morning!
