This prequel anthology isn't just a collection of short tales; it's a gripping, cohesive journey that deepens the world of *Eternal Dominion* and provides critical context for the main *Eden Vault* saga.

The author, Dan Hardez, has structured this anthology well. Each of the seven stories feels distinct, varying in length, focus, and tone, yet they build upon one another logically. This approach makes reading feel like an adventure that continually adds layers of depth and scope to the world of Valkalor.

For fans who love action, prepare to be thrilled. The sequences here are vivid, dramatic, and purposeful, always driving the plot forward rather than merely serving spectacle. I cheered for the characters, found myself thoroughly invested in their struggles, and loved that the lines between "hero" and "villain" are often beautifully blurred. Watching Cinderr's arc unfold across these stories—from a victim of tragedy to the relentless warrior we meet in the main series—is highly rewarding and incredibly cathartic.

This anthology is in exceptional shape, and the varied action, drama, and continuity make it a must-read for anyone who loves creature-driven fantasy and complex character backstories.

Disclosure: I had the privilege of beta-reading the manuscript for *Cinderr* before its publication, and I am providing this honest, uncompensated review.
