This if definitely an informative book if you are interested in Joachim Peiper and his time during the war. It’s a lot at times. It’s interesting hearing stories of soldiers who fought beside him and their perspective, because you don’t hear that a lot. I wished they had more information on the Malmedy case trial, especially since the author provided quite a bit of more obscure facts about others in the Leibstandarte division. The photos and quality of the book was the highlight.

Hands down this is the most detailed account of Jochen Peiper. Some complain of the author being biased to the Germans. Considering he is German, it makes it understandable. The real value in this book is the AMOUNT of information available to you. The author's sources are concrete and all I can say is, "read it and then make your decision on what you think about Peiper".
