Relationship therapist Eva Fuller is over it all. Her boyfriend isn’t interested in getting married or starting a family, so she makes the tough decision to end their ten-year relationship after being engaged for seven years. She is happy with her decision, and when her ex announces his engagement to another woman and the upcoming arrival of their first child, she’s more pissed than she is hurt.
The news makes Eva question everything, including her career, and she wonders whether she should be guiding couples, since she can’t seem to handle her own relationship issues. Frustrated with the situation, her sister suggests she needs to get away and unplug from life for a couple of weeks and offers the perfect solution.
Football analyst Solomon ‘Solo’ Holmes can’t believe he wasted over ten years with his ex-wife. Before marriage, having a large family was something they both desired, but when the time came, she was no longer interested. He doesn’t know when her desires changed, but her no longer wanting children was a dealbreaker.
It’s been over a decade since he was single, and after only a few months, he’s already frustrated with the process of dating. He expresses his frustration to his longtime friend, who suggests he take a vacation to reset.
Eva and Solomon are determined to enjoy the next two weeks away from their reality, but neither expects to have company while doing so. Will they take advantage of their unexpected two weeks together, or will they let a perfectly curated love connection pass them by?
Welcome to Kay Shanee's Reading Korner Kay is forty something wife and mother, born and raised in the Midwest. During the day, she is a high school teacher. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite pastime is reading and writing romance novels about the dopeness of BLACK LOVE.
It’s not bad at all, but it’s quite unoriginal and gives me nothing to really hold onto. The whole “our exes were terrible and we accidentally turned out to be perfect for each other” thing just doesn’t move me anymore. So… DNF at 80%.
After her ex strung her along for ten years, Eva needs to getaway, decompress, and take her mind off her recent breakup. When her sister offers her vacation home in Barbados, she packs her bags and hops on the first thang smokin’ out of Chicago. Forty-eight hours later, sis is livin’ her best Bajan life. She has a cook on call, a driver to take anywhere she wants to go on the island, and an entire mansion all to herself. Or, so she thought.
Solo is recently divorced and he’s already over the dating scene. When his third date fails to live up to his expectations, he exits stage left and calls on his boy for a listening ear. When his best friend offers to let him stay at his vacation home in Barbados, Solo wastes no time bookin’ a first-class flight and packin’ his bags. Imagine his surprise when he arrives to what’s suppose to be an empty house and, literally, runs into his best friend’s naked sister-in-law. Was this a set up by their love ones or is it purely a coincidence? Two Weeks to Love was insta love done right. Although Eva and Solo fell in love uber fast, it felt organic from the very start. Their love journey was lighthearted with minimal drama. These two were the second chance at love both of them needed. This book gave me all the feel good vibes and I highly recommend adding it to your end of the year TBR.
Although the story was short, it was also fulfilling and just what I needed for a quick read. Both of the main characters had recently left a shifty marriage and needed a reset. They found that and more while they took a respite trip to Barbados. Yes, I recommend this story.
The sweet story I didn’t know I needed! Eva and Solo both had similar situations in the demise of their previous relationships and needed a reset. A quick trip to Barbados for relaxation would do the trick. However, when separate trips land them both in close quarters, will they let the chips fall or block their blessings?
They knew of the other, having interacted in passing, with not much fanfare. However, their chemistry and coupling blossomed quick as hell. Both knowing exactly what they wanted from life, why wait? Really cute! 👍🏾👍🏾
3.5⭐️and 2.5 🌶️ When you know, you know! I love a good insta-love story and this one did not disappoint. I just wish we could’ve gotten more personality from Solo.
This was short and sweet and packed so much. Eva and Solo both needed to relax and release after recently leaving 10 yr relationships. Solo was looking for a wife and kids and luckily for him someone decided to play match maker or was it a coincidence 🤔
These two ended up in the same place at the same time and a beautiful love bloomed. They were exactly what each other needed. Their chemistry was undeniable I loved the flirty banter between the two and I loved when they realized this was it for the both of them. Solo thee intentional king, we love to see it 👏🏾
This was sn amazing read and I’m so glad I scrolled across this, it was the cover that drew me in. This is only my second read from this author and the pen is impressive. I will definitely be checking her work out further.
If I ever get divorced and find myself in another relationship, I hope to just fall into one like Eva and Solo because I heard this dating pool got pee in it lol.
Solo and Eva were not strangers but because they were both in relationships, they never interacted much, but once they were both single and wanting to give up on finding that one true love, those closest to them said that wouldn’t work and set it up for their paths to cross. Eva and Solo may have had an instalove story, but it was clear to see that they probably should have been together all along based on their interests and desires.
The drama was very minimal in this story and it was appreciated. This was a feel good love story that had me smiling and swooning and wishing I could be Eva with the way that man loved and spoiled her and anticipated her needs. When you add in the spice, this was the perfect love story to me.
Having recently left relationships and set up by family/friends, Eva and Solo are in Barbados at the same vacation home. They both are looking for some time away to relax and reset but almost immediately realize that it's always more fun to relax with company.
Despite their last relationships, both Solo and Eva are open to new love and are honest about their wants and needs from a partner.
Very insta-lovey, very low angst, heavy on 'if he wanted to, he would'.
Yes, yes and yes. Loved all of this. Short instalove with an intentional mmc. Minimal drama. No miscommunication. They were perfect for eachother. I enjoyed this. I would recommend.
3.75 ⭐️💻 Solomon “Solo” football analyst & Eva, relationship therapist
Two weeks to fall in love and then two more weeks and we getting married is crazy but I was delulu right along with them because I love me a forced proximity romance on any day. Okay proposing at two weeks did have me side eyeing lol. Then when he picked a date for two weeks later I was eye rolling cuz why are we rushing? He locked her down without even knowing the woman’s home address, phone number, etc. But I digress…
Context: Eva breaks up with her long time fiancé (of 7 years! Relationship therapist?) when she finally realizes that her man is stringing her along and never intends to marry her. Once she gave him the door, she found out from a post online that he had a baby on the way and had proposed to the mom to be with her engagement ring.
Solo recently divorced his wife after she admits several years later that she changed her mind about having kids-she reveals she doesn’t want any AT ALL. Sis said Nuh-uh get somebody else to do it.
Eva’s sister is married to Solo’s best friend so both decide to play matchmaker and convince their counterparts to get away from all the drama and utilize their house in Barbados for two weeks to reset.
Unbeknownst to Eva and Solo who arrive at the Barbados house separately thinking they were on solo trips, both soon discover they were setup by their loved ones and forced to share space for the next two weeks.

Two Weeks to Love by Kay Shanee had me hooked from the very first page. The chemistry between the characters is intense, emotional, and so beautifully written that you can feel every glance, every hesitation, and every moment they fight what’s clearly meant to be. This story isn’t just about romance it’s about vulnerability, healing, and taking a leap even when time feels stacked against you.
I loved how real the characters felt. Their connection wasn’t rushed, even with the short timeline, and the emotional depth made it impossible not to root for them. Kay Shanee did an amazing job balancing passion with heart, and I found myself fully invested in their journey. This book gave grown, mature love energy with just the right amount of tension and spice.
If you love a romance that pulls you in, makes you feel something, and leaves you believing in love again, this is definitely one to read. I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys emotionally rich love stories that linger with you even after you’re done. 💛📖
Knowing what both needed was each other love blossoms very well chemistry between them before they were intimate... Now happily married baby girl and another on the way yes yes I would say Solo pull out game is week lol especially if you pregnant again lol 🤣🤣🤣 but here for it!!!!
Now his ex wife could've stayed were she was un forgotten ok start something because you see happy moved on ...
Then her ex he's funny too should have minded his business and shut up but now his fiance knows the ring on finger belongs to her lol so who was doing the cheating him because there's no way he was not cheating on her with his now fiance and mother of his child and she told her and deal with that do what you must with that !!!!
Now this was a good read! OMG - beautifully written. Fast paced, but not unrealistic. All the characters were perfect. The drama was just enough umph added. The spicy scenes, WHEW, spicy! I loved this book. Solo and Eva were truly meant to be. Their chemistry and banter was there. The support she had from her family and eventually loving on Solo. Solo's love for Eva was adorable. Truly swoon worthy. Them both coming from time wasted relationships helped them realize what real love was. This was just too cute! Mia and Tremaine truly had too much audacity!! Like, really? And for Tremaine to act all confused, asking that question, like he wasn't the one out here playing games is crazy to me. Mia pulling that stunt makes sense for a crazy person. LOL Beautiful story.
Once again, Kay Shanee, you outdid yourself! ✨ Eva and Solo’s story was beautiful. 💕 Their journey was the perfect reading palette cleanser—light, sweet, and with very little drama. 😌📖 Eva and Solo came from similar backgrounds, having been with people who didn’t want the same things they did in a relationship. Their desires aligned perfectly, setting them up for an amazing connection. 💫
It was beautiful to see how Eva’s family embraced their relationship and encouraged their insta-love journey. 🤗❤️ I loved this story from beginning to end! It gave me all the feel-good vibes I needed. 🥰🌟
Solomon and Eva were just getting out of long-term relationships. Both of them decide that they need to get out of town to clear their heads, and they end up staying at the same house. I loved how neither of them played games or wasted any time about what they wanted. The love scenes were sexy as always just like any other Kay Shanee book that you have read. Both of them were fun-loving and just vibed well together. This is the kind of book that gives me all of the feels. There wasn't any drama just pure love and passion. Great book that I highly recommend!!
This book was spiiiicy but also super sweet. It was definitely an insta-love situation but told in a believable and realistic way. It was grown-ups being very GROWN in a variety of ways and true to Kay's story formula there was also some ex related drama but it was thankfully short lived and no miscommunication from the main characters. Eva and Solo were both very likeable main characters and their dialog was as funny as their chemistry was yummy. I really liked this one!
Solo and Eva…I was here for it All…Solo was a man who moved intentionally and handled his business accordingly..as grown man should…Thank you for sparing us the exhaustion of the unhinged ex storyline that has been beat to death..Love how Elaine gathered her in the restaurant when Eva discovered the visual reality check that Tremaine had played in her face…Solo handling of is bogus ex was swift and appropriate…There’s none of that meeting so we can talk…Cease and Desist or see my lawyer..Period!!!
The setup provided a come up for both Solo and Eva. Both are fresh of lengthy relationships where their significant other switched up on them. Eva's sister and brother in law colluded to get these two together for two weeks in paradise that turned into an unexpected surprise in so many ways. This is a fast paced insta-love story that gives everything you want with very little drama. Even with the drama, Eva handles it like a pro because Solo says, "I got you!" That man has her at every turn, in every way. Happy Reading Y'all!💋
Very few authors can pull off a novel.tgar is sweet but also sexy! Well, Shanee did. Sole was the real deal and although quick their relationship was realistic. My husband pooped after five months and it would have been 2 months if he wouldn't have waited original ring he had on layaway as a student which I ended up tell8ng him was too much at that time. The couple were beautiful together and represented the best of Black love. A page turner and highly recommend!
This my kind of carrying on! Solo and Eva didn’t go back and forth about that house and who belonged where, they decided to have a good time together and stay in the moment! And baby what a time ! Two people who knew what they wanted and wasn’t afraid to tap into those feeling and each other ! Kay knows how to write intentional, steady, and sexy Black Love!!
Who said you can’t have love after the pain!!!… This was such a cute insta love story!!!…I love how although Solo and Eva knew of each other, in those 14 days, the took the time to get to know each other!!!… Their connection was strong and Solo said she was going to be his wife, and he made it happen!!!…Solo wanted children and Eva allowed that to happen!!!…
Why beat around the bush when the opportunity is right there willing and able. The way Eva was not playing about her attraction with Solo and vice versa.. I loved the openness, sexiness, and spoiling.
True love and forever does not require a lot of time to be wasted. 14 days was more than enough time.
This was a very good story. The scenario was even better. It always be a person cheat they always feel cheated. Tremaine was a real bum who couldn't deal with his own discretion. He played the victim and got reward. Mia on the other hand was delusional and couldn't accept the reality. Solomon and Eva was destined to be together.
Simply amazing loved the characters chemistry was off the chain one of my favorite yesss the way this man Mr solo went out his way showered her with love and affection was amazing romantic awww🥰🥰🥰the scene were the photographer capture the moments he proposed to her loved it loved it😍😍
This was a very good, quick love story! I was engrossed from the moment the story started! I loved these two together. There was only one line in the book that had me side eyeing the implication of what it meant…but Imma keep it moving. Otherwise, amazing story and lovable characters!
This was sexxy & cute! And a time was had! And bought home the fact that a man knows!! Solo didn't waste no time claiming E and loved her down! This was a sexxy fun time and leaves you smiling.
Sometimes you just need a good insta-romance that’s 🌶️. This was just that! I just loved Solo and Eva’s story, it flowed so well. I would love a follow up on them in the near future just to see how they’re doing.
