All of my friends are mated to werewolves, but I've been there and done that, and refuse to go through it again. Especially with a giant, gorgeous man who calls every woman Cupcake.
I don't care that he's sexy and fun.
Or that we're becoming friends. Maybe even best friends.
I don't want a mate.
I just can't seem to make myself ask him to leave.
Honestly, I'll do everything it takes to avoid a mate bond…
Even if I feel myself falling in love with him a little more every day.
*This is a short, spicy romantic novella with a happily ever after
Hi, I’m Lola! I’m a book lover with a *slight* romance obsession. My books are all steamy romantic fantasy or paranormal romance, and there is always a happily ever after.

This is the sixth (and likely final) book in the series, and it’s exactly what it promises to be: cozy, romantic, a little spicy, and genuinely comforting.
This is not a high-stakes, world-ending story, and it doesn’t try to be. It’s a warm, character-driven novella with a touch of supernatural charm and a strong focus on emotional safety, healing, and chosen love.
Maya is a more guarded heroine, and her wariness makes complete sense. She carries the weight of a past abusive relationship, and that trauma informs every hesitation she has about mates, bonds, and giving up control again. Her resistance doesn’t feel annoying, it feels earned. She’s cautious because she had to learn to be.
And then there’s Ethan. A giant, sweet, utterly devoted werewolf who calls her "Muffin" and is fully prepared to move at her pace, protect her space, and love her without conditions. He’s the kind of MMC this genre does very well: patient, playful, emotionally available, and quietly powerful. A walking green flag in werewolf form.
Their dynamic is adorable, "Cupcake and Muffin" says it all. What starts as friendship slowly, gently turns into something deeper, with no pressure, no manipulation, just growing trust and affection. The romance feels safe, cozy, and sincere, which is exactly what this story aims for.
The plot is simple, the pacing quick, and the tone consistently light. It’s a short novella, but it delivers what it needs to: chemistry, emotional payoff, and a "true happily ever after". No unnecessary drama, no angst overload, just warmth and reassurance.
Overall, this book works beautifully as a comfort read and a satisfying conclusion to the series.
Sweet, cozy, romantic, and emotionally healing, sometimes that’s exactly the kind of story you want to curl up with.
Short but addictive so hang on you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned. Well now that all the friends have found their mates except for our girl Maya who has been getting along with wolf since she left her abusive relationship with her mate years ago, which he died as a result of it but it left her damage dead set against every being with another shifter or shifting herself, but as she watch each of her friends find their mates and happiness couple that with her wolf making her very uncomfortable. Ethan sexy as all get out last of his pack unmated but what most of his pack family don’t know is that he is dying because he his need to mate so he try to text Maya of course she blocks him but he isn’t giving up and when she finally agree to be friends in return a dutch pan she been having her eye on the moment they meet their wolves are calm giving them a break. The mate bond pull is there and the more time they spend together makes them realize they don’t want to be apart but Ethan is holding back on the truth because he can’t force her into a mate bond he knows he is going feral without her but he needs it to be her choice will she choose to have another mate, have he shown her that all mates aren’t like her first one controlling, abusive, have he shown her that she can trust him, and will it lead to happiness the second time around?
It would have been great if Maya wasn’t a c*unt. Everything was going so well but she had blinders on and could see and understand anything. She couldn’t interpret anything from her so call best friends and I got so frustrated with her. He was a gem! That’s all!
This entire series is slightly lacking in continuity. Specifically the fine details of mating get skewed deeper into the series. Maya is an ok FMC. Her past doesn't quite make sense, the pieces just don't quite match up, and her present is excessively aggressive in her misplaced anger. Ethan is ok for an MMC but again his puzzle pieces have some gaps, his history doesn't quite make sense to the lore. Lastly, the antagonist resolution is non-existent. He perpetuates as a problem for all of the female students, and both main characters accept that with barely a thought.
The editing quality is very high though.
It's a 120 pages of fast paced superfluous romance. Use it as a palate cleanse or a quick goal booster.
2.5 rounded up to 3. This was cute and I did like getting to know Ethan and Maya. I have been interested in Ethan's story for a long time. However this book suffered from the same problems as the previous installments that I read. The story is very surface level and feels incredibly low effort. There was also something about the writing in this one that felt off to me. Very choppy and emotionless. I don't really know how to pinpoint exactly what felt weird about it.
All in all I am fine with having read this book (only took me about an hour) but if it was not available with my KU subscription I would not have read it and I would not necessarily recommend it to someone else.
The Hungry Girls Guide to Mating with a Werewolf is a spicy book six of the Mate Hunted series that finds MMC Ethan at the moment in pursuit of MFC Maya for a date while she no way wants to end up as some ones bonded mate. How this works out for them both is told with humor, passion, engaging banter and plenty of shifter heat. Yup, Ethan has found his forever cupcake now all has to do is convince her. Enjoyed the story which was well written and loved Maya and Ethan’s characters! HEA.

This was well written as always. Ethan is funny and helped Maya laugh and heal. I love how patient he was and how he went at her pace. This was sweet and romantic. There were only a couple spicy scenes that you could skim if you don't enjoy that sort of thing.

I loved these novellas so much. They are all adorable and such an easy read; you really get to know the pack, and it is really challenging not to form a bond through the pages. I’ll miss them! I want more Lola…… thank you hehe
Loved this entire series!!!!! I was really waiting for Ethan and Mayas story and I was not disappointed! If you’re feeling like you need palette cleansers with a HEA- this whole series is for you!
Every book in the series has a different trope and I really appreciate that Glass keeps them from being super repetitive. I like that Maya and Ethan start out as friends, even if Ethan is clear he wants more. Ethan very much respects Maya's boundaries and, while he definitely tests them in a way that I would find problematic in a real world situation, I like how their relationship progresses. There's a lot of communication between the two of them which I love to see in a romance novel.
Since Maya & Ethan are the last of their respective groups, they are thus meant for each other. Maya starts off having nothing to do with Ethan. So, Ethan begins to campaign against her, by texting. She blocks him and he somehow gets around it, every time she blocks him. Boy, is he stubborn. He is also the only one of the Feral pack that hadn’t ever found a mate, nor had been repudiated. Maya doesn’t want to be mated again. After the first time, she wants no part of it. Finding out what happened made me livid and I cried. She doesn’t even like her job and she is being harassed by one of her co-workers that doesn’t understand the word ‘no.’ Ethan’s antics in the book are hilarious. Which is funny, because in the first two books, I wanted to smack him a lot for being a bit of a jerk. Maya loves snacks and she finds out that Ethan is the king of snacks and likes pretty much the same ones as she does. Ethan calls Maya, Cupcake, and a few other cutesy names that just makes you know she wants to hit him for, lol. After a while, she ends up calling him that. lol. I found that Ethan’s idea of them wearing something to prevent them from seeing each other’s eyes- which prevents the mate chase from beginning to be genius. We find so much out about the both of them. Also, we see more of the mated couples’ dynamics. The fact that they both love gummy stuff, freaked me out at first, I had a very traumatic experience in grammar school with sticky Swedish fish and hip length hair. Let’s just say, that my hair ended up being barely shoulder length, when everything was fixed.
Then as more time passed, Ethan and Maya spent more and more time together and they are so adorable. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed as hard as I did in this book in any of the author’s other books, and they are funny, which is saying something. My stomach hurt for a few days after reading, that’s how hard I laughed. When things progressed to the physical - they were steamy and romantic. I love how they negotiate almost everything at first. It’s like reading a sauna, it’s that steamy, lol. I’m sad that this is the last book in the series tho. But, it had an awesome ending, so I’m happy with it.

CW: MMC who messages after being blocked (FMC is not upset by this); FMC's previous mate was physically & emotionally abusive (put FMC in hospital); FMC's parents were addicts that neglected her; graphic sex; workplace sexual harassment by a professor to FMC. Minus the FMC blocking the MMC (and the sex), these moments happen off-page.
Notable Quote:
"You mock me. I love it. Continue,"
"Continue kissing or mocking?"
"Both."
The Plot: Maya is the last of her friend group to not be mated to someone from the Feral Pack. As someone who is already a werewolf (courtesy of her abusive ex), she has no interest into succumbing to a mate bond. Ethan, the last member of the Feral Pack to be unmated, desperately wants a mate. He proposes a compromise to Maya: they hang out as friends to settle their wolves but constantly wear mirrored glasses so they can't trigger a mate bond with each-other. Can Maya trust Ethan (and herself) to forge a relationship on their own terms, or will they just forever be the odd ones out?
My Thoughts: I am a sucker for this series & world. Although I've loved Maya since she was first introduced, I wasn't sure how I would feel about Ethan as a main character as he seemed a bit childish and irritating in previous books. However, he really won me over! Sometimes I find that shifter men lean a little too much towards possessive/domineering rather than protective/supportive, but Ethan really impressed me with how hard he worked to defy the stereotype. It was a genuine pleasure to watch the two of them communicate and support each other with compassion and humour (the mirrored glasses being an example of both!). Given the current political climate, I also appreciated the emphasis on it being absolutely fine to not want children.
Please keep in mind that while most of the story is cozy, there are discussions of domestic violence & sexual harassment in the workplace in addition to the usual fears about the consequences of a rejected mate bond. Protect your mental health!
The Hungry Girl’s Guide to Mating with a Werewolf by Lola Glass is the kind of cozy paranormal romance that feels like a soft blanket, a warm meal, and a deep exhale all wrapped into one. As the sixth—and likely final—book in the series, it delivers exactly what longtime readers hope for: comfort, sweetness, and a love story built on safety and choice.
Maya has already lived through the dark side of mate bonds, and she refuses to give up control of her life again. Her hesitation isn’t dramatic or frustrating—it’s earned. Past abuse has taught her caution, and her boundaries feel real, respected, and necessary. Watching her navigate friendship, attraction, and fear with honesty makes her deeply relatable.
Enter Ethan: a giant, gorgeous werewolf who calls her “Cupcake” (and later “Muffin”) and somehow manages to be both playful and profoundly gentle. He’s patient without being passive, protective without being controlling, and completely willing to move at Maya’s pace. No pressure. No ultimatums. Just steady affection and unwavering respect. He’s a walking green flag in werewolf form—and impossible not to adore.
What makes this story shine is its low-stakes, character-driven approach. There’s no looming apocalypse or forced drama. Instead, the focus stays where it belongs: healing, trust, and the slow realization that love doesn’t have to hurt to be real. The friends-to-lovers progression feels natural and safe, and the emotional payoff is quietly satisfying.
Short, sweet, and heartfelt, this novella delivers chemistry, warmth, and a true happily-ever-after without unnecessary angst. It’s a perfect comfort read and a lovely sendoff to a series built on chosen love and emotional security.
If you’re craving cozy paranormal romance, patient heroes, and a story that prioritizes healing over chaos, The Hungry Girl’s Guide to Mating with a Werewolf is a gentle, reassuring reminder that sometimes love waits until you’re ready—and then stays.

“If we ever wanted to be more than friends, this would be infinitely better than I ever could’ve imagined for myself, and so much more than enough.”

This one was honestly really sweet, and such a nice change of pace after the previous books. Maya and Ethan were both charming in completely different ways, and I loved how grounded their relationship felt compared to some of the more fate heavy romances in this series. Friends to lovers in a shifter book? Yes please. It felt softer, calmer, and more emotionally focused than usual.
Maya was great. I loved that she was hesitant for understandable reasons and not just being dramatic for plot purposes. She had already been through the mate bond thing and knew it was not automatically sunshine and rainbows, so her resistance made sense. Ethan was equally lovely. Him calling everyone food nicknames should have annoyed me, but somehow it just worked for him. He was sweet, patient, and genuinely cared about her as a person first, not just as a potential mate.
Letting them fall in love before everything clicked into place was easily the best part of this book. It made the romance feel earned instead of rushed, and when they finally got together, it was genuinely satisfying. The emotional payoff was stronger because of that, and the epilogue was ridiculously cute. I was smiling like an idiot by the end.
My only real complaint is… the blurb lied to me a little. Calling this a “short spicy novella” is generous. There was one spice scene. One. And it was fine, but nothing special. Definitely not what I would call spicy in the grand scheme of romance novels. If you are picking this up purely for smut, you might be disappointed.
Overall, this was a really solid, feel good read. Sweet romance, likeable characters, good emotional development, and a satisfying ending. Not perfect, but easily one of the stronger books in this series for me.
Another lovely wonderfully fun romantasy novella by Lola Glass following the last rejected wolf from the "Feral Pack", Ethan (it was so good to see him get his own HEA). Lola’s stories are always so well written with humour, banter, romance and human nature (worries, insecurities, etc causing problems) and this one is no different. It's full of lots of text messages, wonderful characters with brilliant chemistry, second chances at love, friendships, sexy wolf shifters, main characters who both have trauma in their pasts, heaps of humor, a nesting sweet stash, rainbow of pans, cheeky banter and spice💖. Again, I couldn't put down and would strongly recommend.
Ethan is the golden retriever of the Feral pack, calls everyone "Cupcake" and has finally got hold of Maya's phone number. Their relationship starts with her trying hard to not read his text messages and attempting to block his number; but as he's happy to point out: “Please, keep blocking me It tells me you’re reading the messages ;)”
Maya had a bad experience with her first mate and really doesn't want to have another. But with all of her friend group having mated with one of his pack, she knows fate's going to push them together. So when he suggests they could try just being friends with hugging benefits (as this seems to calm both their wolves), and they could wear mirror reflective glasses to avoid triggering the bond, she accepts.
I love the dedication: "To hot blond werewolf dudes who call everyone Cupcake".

The Hungry Girls Guide to Mating a Werewolf is the sixth and final novella in the Mate Hunted Series. This installment offers a refreshing change of pace in the series by focusing on a main female character who is already well acquainted with the werewolf world and fated mate bonds.
This read explores Lola Glass’s fated werewolf world with a twist where the main female character has already been done this road and let’s just say……she is a “cupcake” who is most definitely ready to stay away. But that does not make our “muffin” stray from what he wants! I loved the more mature take on the fated mate bond. It wasn’t just about instalust here. It was about taking what life has given you and making it into something you truly want. It was a journey of healing and learning to trust again.
But Just as the others in this series, the found family and pack vibes are what I thrive for! Lola Glass delivers every single time! Every installment of this series is a breath of fresh air into the world we already know and love! I find this to be one installment I have already read more than once, and every single time I find myself smiling and just loving every second!
The Hungry Girl’s Guide to Mating with a Werewolf is a perfect short read for readers who enjoy paranormal romance and Lola Glass’s world building but, want something less heavy than a standard psychological thriller. It’s sweet, spicy, and satisfying.
It’s a novella, so it’s a fast read, but the chemistry is fire like always! Final Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
The Hungry Girl’s Guide to Dating a Werewolf is the perfect end to the awesome Mate Hunted series. Ethan and Maya were both suffering, both making my heart hurt for them. Ethan was touch starved. Desperately so. Maya was badly abused by a previous almost-mate and is opposed to the mate bond they’re pretty sure they share. But, they are both incredibly lonely, so Ethan looks for ways for them to safely spend time together without triggering the mate bond—he not only comes up with a solution, he comes up with a genius solution … Things get even more interesting from here.
Lola Glass has a knack for writing characters that are so well fleshed I want to hang with ‘em, hug ‘em, or mate ‘em. This was a great book.

This was the perfect ending to the series, and I loved it so much!
I enjoyed watching Maya trust Ethan work out their issues, especially Maya's past with a highly abusive partner. Of the two, Ethan was my favorite and he wasn't territorial and possessive like some of the other guys. It was a nice change, and very cozy and sweet. They work really well together, and are so respectful of each other's needs. I feel like this book had more romance compared to the the other books because they were working so hard to fight their instincts. It look a lot more work to become a couple that way.
There are moments where it was hard to read when talking about the abuse, but it is also good to see it being discussed because it is such a big issue in the real world too.
I'm a little sad that we won't be hanging out with these characters anymore, but I'm looking forward to seeing what Lola has for us next!
3.8 Stars This was a long time coming and honestly, poor Ethan... Slowly I realized he would be the last pack member and knew that he had never had a mate before so he was probably going to be crushed by this point and I was way more right than I thought I would be. On that note, I wasn't sure what to expect with this final book. I knew next to nothing about Ethan, besides the aforementioned never been mated, and Maya felt a lot like Finn where I didn't really care for her too much but could also vibe with her anger more. I was pleasantly surprised how pure and honest Maya and Ethan were with each other. All baggage and thought were out there, both knew they were destined to bond but also respected that things take time, friends first can do wonders to build healthy relationships. Their love was one of my favorite by far and them as a couple in the series is probably my third favorite. I really enjoyed my journey with this college professor ladies and feral pack men and hope that many more readers will enjoy their stories in the future.
So sad to see the series end but so sweet too! I have mixed feelings about this one because on the one hand, I love their texting and getting to know each other and the pace of things, but on the other, it felt like they never actually fell in love with each other. They were comfortable and safe together, but I wished we got to see more of their personalities coming together instead of just learning that he could control himself and she can learn to trust again. Still a cute couple and I enjoyed every second!
Might I suggest another revise tho, because the text messages are not properly formatted at the end of the convo, and during spicy times Maya said something about the look on his eyes even tho they are both wearing sunglasses and can’t see each other’s eyes (kinda the whole point) and there was something else but ya — love how quickly these books come out, but maybe just one more revise!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Hungry Girl’s Guide to Mating with a Werewolf by Lola Glass Ebook | Kindle | 126 pages The author truly saved the best for last with this one! This story follows a heroine who’s previously been bitten and had an extremely abusive mate. She survived a horrific situation that even landed her in the hospital, and she’s understandably hesitant to trust or mate with anyone again. Enter the last single werewolf in the pack, who hasn’t yet found his mate. Their relationship starts off cautiously: he buys her gifts, including cookware for her love of cooking and even a whole pantry of gummy bears, to show care without activating the mating process. Their friendship grows slowly, with sleepovers, shared meals, and a strong emotional connection, and it’s just heartwarming to see them bond. The romance develops naturally, with tension, intimacy, and a sense of trust that had to be earned—especially given her past trauma. The way they rely on each other, support each other, and ultimately choose each other was beautifully done. I loved that this was a story where the male lead had to work for her love—it made the relationship feel earned and realistic within the paranormal context. This novella is sweet, funny, and emotional, and it was a perfect conclusion to the series. I just wish there were more stories of them, maybe with kids or just living their lives together! Out of all six stories, this one is definitely my favorite.

A short, hilarious, and heartwarming paranormal romance that feels like a warm hug (with a side of heat).
Maya has seen all her friends fall for the Feral Pack werewolves, but her past trauma with werewolf mate bonds leaves her with no desire to follow in the pawprints. Ethan is a giant, gorgeous, and surprisingly fun werewolf who is determined to win her over.
Ethan's charming playfulness and desire to let her choose for herself without guilt or pressure is endearing, and watching Maya's walls slowly crumble as she realizes he isn't like the others was satisfying and heartwarming.
There’s enough spice to keep things interesting, but the overall vibe is very cozy and sweet. It’s the perfect book—and series—to get you out of a reading slump or to cleanse your reading palette.

I loved this series of novellas- absolutely loved them. This one is my favorite, and that’s a hard pick, believe me. The FMC, Maya, was abused by a previous mate, so she’s still dealing with traumatic reactions and doesn’t want to bond with anyone, so at first she avoids the MMC, Ethan. But Ethan has been battling his wolf’s urge to go feral, and Maya’s the only thing that calms it, so they agree to try friendship. I love fated mates, but I *adore* friends to lovers, and this is an especially good one. Despite the history of abuse, this story has a very fun feel to it as these two werewolves just straight up enjoy each other’s company. The bow-chicka-wow-wow is delightfully hot. There’s nothing that I don’t love about this book.

Ethan and Maya’s story is book 6 in the Mate Hunted series and that wraps up the circle of 6 male werewolves and 6 female friends mating them. This one was fun in that Maya was already a werewolf so didn’t have to be bitten or go through the “hunt”, but her fist mating had been hellish and she wouldn’t trust that Ethan and his pack weren’t like her 1st mate’s pack. We get to see the fun side of Ethan and Maya as they wear their mirrored sunglasses everywhere, but we also see how Ethan’s wolf and life go off track the longer he’s without the bond. This is one of my favorite Lola Glass books as she fills it with so much heart, almost as if we are going to lose Ethan, but she saves him at the last second ! 5✨’s.

Maya/Ethan I love the story that is ending this series. It is deep and heart breaking on the inside but cute and funny on the outside, which rounds it out perfectly. Ethan is bone deep good and you just want to smack fate upside the head for putting him through his suffering. Maya can only see trauma when she thinks mate bond no matter who is in front of her. This story is one that just keeps giving. It makes you smile, swoon, melt, cry, and get mad but what good book doesn’t! As with all the books the author writes, I highly recommend this series. It is perfect for a quick, get you through your week snack. "This is my honest review of an advanced reader copy, and I am leaving this review voluntarily."
Adult content, reader discretion advised. These are cute, quick reads. I finished each book in two hours or less. This is a series about young professional women hired by a college. Ethan and Maya are the last to fall and the most complicated. Maya is a debt drowning chef who can’t work in a restaurant and Ethan is a werewolf dying of loneliness. Maya almost dyed after going through a mating hunt over a decade ago and wants nothing to do with werewolves. Even though she is one. Ethan just doesn’t want to give up and die. So he hunts Maya the only way she will allow. With zero eye contact. It works, until it doesn’t and Maya has to face her past and decide what future she wants. After a little biting, a pair of sunglasses and some sexy time, the rest, as they say is history.
I know we all were waiting for Ethan and Maya’s book. After learning about them through the previous 5 books, there was no one I wanted to find happiness more than these two.
We get an opportunity to learn about the complexity of Maya’s past that’s been previously hinted at. We also learn about Ethan’s own struggles with his wolf as they navigate their complex relationship.
Ethan is such a green flag, and the lengths he’s willing to go for Maya are heart-wrenching. This book brought me to tears. The depth these two care for each other is so evident.
The spice is off the charts but doesn’t consume the story. Absolutely LOVED this one.
