Wow I've just finished breaking Velvet.
Ladies you're in for one hell of a treat....
R Roxy has out done herself.
That plot was to die for it just kept getting better and better. There was so much twists and turns and excitement can give you whiplash. In a good kinky way. In the beginning my heart broke for velvet and her adorable girls, when Her husband one-day up and walked out on them. Velvet desperately looking for work. Combs the streets goes into government help centers to no avail. Gets told you have to wait 6weeks, velvet says 6bladdy weeks how am I supposed to feel my girls. But like the strong woman she is doesn't give up. In the rain she goes to every place she can find hands her CV only to be rejected again and again. One day drenched she goes into a coffee shop where everyone looks at her cause she's like a drowned rat. She meets Whitney who offers her a job. But not just any job. Not saying more on that cause you need to read the novel to appreciate the storyline. Whitney becomes like a sister to her. Nora her old neighbor offers to look after the girls while she's at work. One night Dominic Comes into her orbit. And velvet is drawn to him but Whitney warns her how dangerous he is. But that makes him more appealing. That's the end of my review as far as storytelling goes I'm not go to spoil it for you.
If I could have given R Roxy a Thousand stars that would have been to little. This novel has so much passion, steam, spice. One has to read those triggers for sure. This novel not for the faint hearted. One still blushing as I think of some of the scenes.The spicy scenes are quite spicy, but there is a good balance between plot and spice. The spice accompanies the plot, instead of taking over ... But can't wait for book 2....

Breaking Velvet --- spicy, mystery, and thriller all in one. I fell in love with Velvet, the FMC, and quickly had opinions on Dominic, the MMC, that differed throughout the book, just as any book in this genre should. I was invested in the world the author created in this book, and I want to know more about the "side characters" in the series. The only thing I was missing in this book was a little more of the connection between Velvet and her children, and Dominic with the family side of things.
Will be looking forward to the next book in this series.

Book Review: Breaking Velvet (Book 1) by R Roxy (Zara Williams)
Breaking Velvet is simply wow! This novel is author Zara Williams' first foray into writing a spicy thriller, and it's a fantastic debut.
I don't typically read the spicy genre, but I was immediately captivated by Zara's writing style. When I asked the author if the book included elements of thriller or suspense, she promised they were there, and she delivered. The result is an engaging blend of spicy romance, mafia intrigue, and heart-pounding suspense.
The story centers on Valerie, whose husband abruptly abandons her and their two children, leaving them without support and facing a bleak situation. Desperate to feed her family and keep a roof over their heads, Valerie is truly cornered. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she meets Whitney, who introduces her to the world of LUX, where Valerie begins training as a mistress. This new path changes everything for Valerie, transforming her circumstances entirely.

This book had me on my toes! Velvet is a single mom with two daughters trying to make ends meat after her husband up and leaves her high and dry, with a bunch of bills no less. She's at a loss of what to do until she meets Whitney. Whitney gives her a job offer that will take care of all her worries. Velvet becomes a strong, independent woman that men end up kneeling to. Then she meets Dominic, a mafia heir. Whitney strongly warns her to stay away from him, that he's just bad news, but Velvet doesn't listen. Velvet falls for Dominic, and he falls for hard her. Dominic wants every piece of Velvet, no matter the cost. Their relationship is explosive, but it's one that they have to fight hard to keep, and it's an intense fight!

A totally delicious story, that covers the spice, blood, romance and twists that leave the reader wanting more. Where the world answers, rather than questions. A place that is set to destroy you, makes you rise from the ashes as intended. Can't wait for Book 2 as I am hooked

It’s swell ! It has the heat ,the fire and an awesome storyline. The fact that this downtrodden mother of two has not given up on her kids no matter how far she’s on the skids . ‘I am Valerie. I am strong. I am a mother. I will survive this.’
Sacrifices made in haste do not go to waste in shaping the butterfly from the chrysalis she does become this lowly mum by the name of Valerie who was so exhausted by failure after failure she was drifting on autopilot. Until one chance meet in the street has her transformed and as Madam Velvet….complete?
You’ll have to read this absolute splendour ,it really is the absolute business this is. Her life was in a blender and now ? She has people in her corner and wow! Nobody gonna mess with her no more.It has the heat aplenty and an atmosphere you could cut with a knife and it’s phwoar .
The gritty and certainly not pretty world she’s drawn into has it all going on .And the spice phew 😮💨 I’m telling you … To do this book justice you’ll have to read for yourself ,it really is the flavour of the month for me . It’s ecstasy at its best and with a human story of interest to those downtrodden women who say enough is enough and I’m getting tough and don’t give a stuff how I’m doing it. So go pay a visit and pick up some fine reading. You know you’ll be needing.
