We watch, we keep balance, we do not interfere.Until we had no choice.

Across the dominions, every power has its counterpart. But the scales shattered when Count Drako Vladrovic defied divine design and bound his heart to Amina Umbrescu, a mage-born servant far beneath his station. Their forbidden love, consummated beneath the Blue Blood Moon, created what should never have existed; a Shadowborne, the first of his kind.
Tragedy answered their union. Amina’s dying breath unleashed the prophecy that would doom the Vladrovic bloodline for three centuries; a curse that ensured no Vladrovic would ever love without losing everything.
Until now.
Dacian Vladrovic, commander of the Legion and the last heir of a cursed throne, stands on the brink of that prophecy’s final reckoning. And beside him rises Zrelina Umbrescu; the descendant of the woman who doomed his line, and the only one powerful enough to awaken the gargoyle buried beneath his vampire skin. Together, they must defy fate itself as enemies become lovers, as smoldering passion turns to ruinous devotion, and as a war of blood, stone, and destiny ignites.
The angst is ruinous.
The passion is feral.
The smut is unapologetically unholy.
Some love stories demand sacrifice.
Some destinies demand defiance.
But theirs demands a… Bloodtithe.

I would like to thank Four Between The Sheets for supplying an advanced copy of Bloodtithe: A Watcher's Tale.

Bloodtithe has so much potential! The beginning of the story is a little confusing not only because of the world building and meeting characters but because the pacing feels very choppy. Chapters will start after something seemingly pretty important has happened with no knowledge to the readers of what went on in between or how we ended up where we are. This carries on throughout the book unfortunately. Some questions do get answered more toward the end of the book, but whereas I was scratching my head wondering what the heck was going on, the characters didn't even bat an eye at most of the completely bizarre things that were happening to and around them.

I would have liked to get to know the characters better. I didn't feel as though there was any real character development and so I didn't really care about them. The relationships also felt flat since there was almost no time spent building the relationships between most characters. Friend relationships got more time building and growing than the romantic relationships did.

The time lines are confusing and sometimes out of order, especially the visions, and there are some pretty big inconsistencies.

The descriptive writing, especially during action scenes, was incredibly well done. I don't often picture the stories in my head as I'm reading but during those scenes it was like I was watching a movie.

The ending was devastating and almost had me in tears and left a nice little cliffhanger for book two.

While there are definitely a lot of cons, there are also a lot of pros and I will probably read the second book and hopefully unanswered questions from book one will be answered then. I'm intrigued by where this story could go from here.

I will say that the ending broke me. I cried.

Overall, I enjoyed this book even if it frustrated and passed me off at times. I feel that there were a lot of issues. This story has so much potential, but I think the authors tried to pack in too much and failed at the initial relationship building. It felt abrupt and awkward. If done differently, I could see this world, this tale, getting a 5/5 stars and being epic.

DO NOT let my review keep you from reading and making your own opinion. If you get frustrated and tempted to DNF it, just push through. Most of my questions were answered, even if in unsatisfactory ways.

The dialog at times was jarring or even cringe.

There were parts that feel like they could have been struck completely. Most of the chapters by the Watchers, honestly.

This should have been more books and fleshed out more. More attention given to building up the interactions between the characters. Perhaps one day they will actually redo this as an extended duology or trilogy and really do it justice.

I think it's worth the read, but it would have best been restructured a bit. Some stories can jump around, others, like this, leave me frustrated with seemingly huge inconsistencies that are only resolved later. Not ones that seemed planned, though they were, but they feel like glaring mistakes that detract from the experience until you stumble on the bit that resolves that later on. This book did not do that part well.

Let me start by saying this: while you can devour this book in one sitting, and believe me, it’s that good, I highly recommend slowing down. Don’t just read Bloodtithe: A Watchers Tale; study it. Analyze it. Take notes,  lots of them. This isn’t a simple A-to-Z story. It’s the kind of book you’ll want to revisit, flipping back and forth through pages to catch every layer, every hint, every connection. We’re dealing with Vampires, Gargoyles, Mages, and Wolves (or werewolves… I think so!). The cast is vast,  twenty-five characters, and  bound together in an intricate, time-shifting narrative that spans lifetimes. It feels like a dark retelling of Romeo and Juliet blended with Dracula and just a hint of Twilight. Team Dacian or Team Kael? You’ll find yourself asking that more than once. You’ll love these characters… well, most of them. A few I could happily toss into a pit of starved tigers.Fair warning: this story isn’t shy about emotional triggers. I’m not easily shaken, but one particular scene made me stop, breathe, and walk away for a moment. If you love stories about anguish and loss, about loving deeply and hurting even more deeply,  this book will grip you hard and refuse to let go. And somehow, you’ll welcome that chokehold. The time shifts can be confusing, I’ll admit, but every reread felt rewarding. My only critique is the final battle; after centuries of buildup, I expected a longer, more dramatic showdown. It felt over too quickly. Still, this is, at its heart, a love story,  and an epic one at that. Kael stands out as the true hero, while Amina embodies fierce, unwavering strength. And yes, there’s some smut, but it’s written beautifully, tastefully, and memorably. This is a tale you won’t forget, one worth savoring with every dark, twisted, passionate page, and a tail you will never forget, a literal tail; you'll need to read it to understand.

I was honored to be chosen to receive an ARC copy of this book, and it did not disappoint!

This story is rich with shadow, tension, and mythology, blending haunting imagery with a steadily building sense of unease. The writing is immersive and vivid, making every scene feel heavy with purpose and consequence. I loved how the lore unfolded naturally—never overwhelming, but always leaving me wanting more. The Watchers themselves are fascinating, layered, and morally complex, and the themes of sacrifice, loyalty, and power are woven beautifully throughout the narrative.

The pacing is mostly strong, especially in the middle where the story truly finds its stride. There were a few moments where I wished certain scenes lingered just a bit longer or went deeper emotionally, which is the only reason this wasn’t a full five stars for me. That said, the overall impact of the story absolutely landed.

This is a dark fantasy that rewards patient readers and fans of richly built worlds with a slightly eerie edge. I’m incredibly grateful to have been selected as an ARC reader for this book, and I can confidently say I’ll be keeping an eye out for the next one!

Highly recommend for readers who love atmospheric fantasy with depth, darkness, and heart. 🖤

I enjoyed this story. I found it compelling, and poetically descriptive. I loved the intensity of the characters, and found their witty banter, and sarcasm amusing. I found myself giggling several times. There were moments of genuine loss and heartache that had me all in my feels. Yes, I even cried a few times 😬 I think you guys did a great job of creating a world that combined the essence of Dracula's star-crossed lovers; while putting a unique twist on the story of two souls bound in life and death-finally reuniting after lifetimes of being separated by fate and a 300 year old curse wrapped in secrecy and betrayal. I also loved the little unexpected twists. It was easy to adore the characters and get sucked into the adventure while anxiously devouring each page laced with longing, and chaos. The visuals you painted in such a distinctively expressive way....*chef's kiss*

This is a dark gothic fantasy romance. It’s set in a world divided into dominions, each sealed behind a Veil. The Watchers, or guardians of balance, oversee these realms, ensuring that no bloodlines merge. However, a forbidden union threatens this balance as the FMC and MMC, Zrelina and Dacian, find themselves intertwined by fate and magic.

The story has themes of power, choice, and prophecy, exploring how the characters navigate their fates in a world governed by ancient laws.

There are some dark themes in this book, and the spice is spicing so check your triggers!

Have you ever just been immediately pulled I to a world of wonder? This book does that from the very beginning. The prose just sucks you right in. The world building is amazing and you can easily visualize what is being described.

I immediately fell in love with the characters with Zrelina, the FMC, being my favorite. Her witty personality and innate strength made me love her.

I cannot wait for the physical copy of this book to be available because there is a place just waiting to be filled with it on my bookshelf.

I loved the story a lot it had a lot of twists and turns as well. The characters were amazing I love Kael he was my favorite and I feel he was done so dirty. Dacian was my second favorite character. There is a lot that happens in this book so you want to kinda slow it down and you may even need to go back and reread some chapters.

This book is an awesome mix of Romeo and Juliet meets old world Dracula. it is written beautifully, and the flow of the book is awesome. The characters were created perfectly, and the world building was spot on. You will be transported to the characters' time and place with ease and feel yourself living the book as youbread. I hope there are more books to come from the authors in the future.

BloodTithe: A Watcher’s Tale by Heather Christine Lynch, Jaclyn Parks, Jessica Wright, and Steph Henderson (Four Between The Sheets) is unlike anything I have ever read before.

From the very beginning, this story draws you into a layered world filled with vampires, gargoyles, werewolves, and mythology that feels both ancient and completely original. The world-building and character development are woven in beautifully without slowing the pacing, but this is absolutely a book that asks for your full attention. The plot is complex, the characters are deeply layered, and every chapter adds another piece to a much larger, haunting puzzle.

There is fated mates, anguish, loss, longing, and emotional weight that settles into your chest and refuses to leave. This story does not shy away from darker themes, so checking the trigger warnings is important, but every painful moment serves a purpose in shaping these amazing characters and the beautiful story. The mythology alone deserves applause because it feels fresh, intentional, and unlike anything I’ve encountered in this genre.

This is not a casual skim read. It is an immersive experience. One that demands you feel, think, and fully surrender to the story. And once I started, I could not put it down.

BloodTithe stands in a category of its own, and I already know it will be one of those books that stays with me long after the final page.

First and foremost I'd like to thank 4 Between The Sheets for selecting me as one of the lucky few ARC/Alpha readers for Bloodtithe: A Watcher's Tale.

"Across fire, across time, across death itself. We are the darkness and the dawn. Do not fear what is written, for even the stars curtsey to love such as ours."

Vampires, Gargoyles, Wolves, Mages, curses, unique magic system, love and tragedy spanning centuries, what's not to love?!

Check the trigger/content warnings before reading as this story has an abundance.

I absolutely am in love with this story. From the battle scenes, to the witty banter, to the goregous imagery of the land, to the super spicey scenes that'll make you blush as red as Mars, to the love reincarnated throughout centuries, and all the twisty twists. I devoured every last bit of it. This story is one that is going to stick with me for a long while.

I found myself unable to put this story down. I just had to know what was going to happen next. My emotions were all over the place-blushing, crying, rage, giggling, gasping. I was rooting so much for our MC and FMC.

I can not wait for book 2 if there will be one!

This book completely captivated and destroyed me. The writing is dark, lyrical, and beautifully haunting, perfect for anyone who loves gothic, horror, and/or paranormal reads. There’s an almost Shakespearean quality to the storytelling, with the narrative shifting between characters in a way that feels intentional, immersive, and rich with atmosphere rather than confusing.

What truly stood out were the Watchers. Their warnings woven throughout the story added such an eerie, prophetic tone that kept me on edge and heightened the sense of dread in the best way. Every perspective added another layer to the world, making the story feel alive and ominous, like something ancient was always watching from the shadows. I kept telling myself one more chapter over and over again until it was 2 AM!

This is the kind of book you don’t just read, you experience it. Dark, poetic, unsettling, and unforgettable. A must-read for fans of gothic horror and paranormal storytelling. 🖤📖

This book was an incredible reading experience. If you love immersive, detail-rich worldbuilding, this story delivers it in abundance. The first half is layered with complex lore, richly developed characters, and a wide array of supernatural creatures, so readers who enjoy strong foundational storytelling will feel right at home. Those who prefer faster-paced openings may find the buildup slower—but the payoff is absolutely worth it.

This is a dark, emotionally charged Dracula retelling that explores a love capable of transcending time, fate, and every boundary set in its path. The emotions run deep and hit hard, weaving heartbreak and devotion seamlessly throughout the narrative.

While there is spice sprinkled into the story, it never overshadows the plot. Instead, it enhances it—creating the perfect balance between passion and substance. This is not a smut-forward book; it’s a story with depth, meaning, and soul.

The ending delivers a semi–happily ever after that left me genuinely emotional. I cried for the beauty of it… and for the heartbreak woven into it. It’s the kind of ending that stays with you long after you turn the final page.

The collaboration between these four authors is seamless. Their voices blend so well that you’d never know where one stopped and another began. It’s a true testament to their talent and teamwork.

This book absolutely deserves a spot on your 2026 TBR—and honestly, it’s one you should pre-order ASAP.

4.5 Stars… I received this book as an ARC and was very excited to get into it. It is a good book, the story line was great, the ending was... ouch, and it left me wanting more.

The world building is solid, although sometimes I felt it took away from the story that was being shared at that moment, but that may be because I wanted to know more about the who/when/where/why behind the characters story. The interwovenness between the FMC and MMC was on point, and I wish there was more.

My only criticism, and it is a small one, was that I wanted more relationship building between some of the characters, I felt there was reasons behind the relationships that were left unexplained. Their relationships were touched on but I wanted to know more, there is so much remaining curiosity. Maybe this was by design? I hope that if further instalments, novellas or side quest stories are in the pipeline that we can see more between the characters, learn more about who they are and why they are that way.

I look forward to more stories from the Four Between the Sheets team in the future.

Truly appreciate the author's for giving me the opportunity to get a chance to experience being part of advanced readers' copy of their upcoming book. I am inspired by not only seniors author's but also new author's on sharing their stories with many book readers.

I enjoyed reading the book. The story plot over all is great. although i must say there were some challenges for me grasped at the beginning of the book, having to reread to understand where the story and the characters and the world building were going. The dynamic of the characters needed a bit more detail. I feel the author's where combining a lot in each chapter to simplify certain things to get to the point. I see where they were going, but I feel like they should have added a more Indebt understanding of what was going on in the chapters / characters.

Overall, as you progress on the book, you, you'll fall in love with the main characters and their love their. 🙌🥰

ps. it's hard not to do spoilers, lol, but yes, do give it a chance! 😊🥰🙌

I want to thank Four Between the Sheets for choosing me to read an early release of this book.

overall, I loved this book. while I started out flying through it, I had to stop myself and go back and take it a bit slower, letting it actually sink in. this story is multiple points of view as well as multiple timelines so it can get rather confusing if you let it. the beginning is a bit choppy, but part of that is due to the world building as well as character introduction and jumping back and forth between timelines. this story contains a curse of over three centuries, vampires, gargoyles, and mages. this is an epic love story and a forbidden love that causes wars. this is a tail that won't be forgotten anytime soon (you will understand once read). This will have your emotions all over the place. one minute, hating a character and the next minute loving them. the passion run hot and fierce. the twist at the end may truly wreck you.

Bloodtithe hooked me fast and kept me invested all the way through. The worldbuilding was intriguing, the stakes were high, and I genuinely cared about what happened to the characters.

That said… The Watchers were assholes. Full stop. Their arrogance and control issues made my blood boil, which I’m pretty sure was intentional, but wow, did I want to reach through the pages and shake them.

The real standout for me was the chemistry between Zrelina and Dacian. It was intense, emotional, and incredibly well done. Every interaction between them crackled with tension and depth, and their connection added so much heart to the story.

While there were a few moments that felt slightly slower than I wanted, the payoff, especially in character dynamics, was worth it. Overall, Bloodtithe delivered a compelling story with strong emotions, unforgettable chemistry, and just enough frustration to keep me turning pages.

Would absolutely recommend, especially if you love morally gray worlds, powerful bonds, and characters who make you feel.

I received this book as a ARC read and this is my honest review.

Bloodtithe is a dark, emotional fantasy that completely pulled me in. The world of vampires, witches, and gargoyles is rich and atmospheric, and the dual timelines with Draco & Amina and Dacian & Zrelina add so much depth and heartbreak. The characters are complex, the tension is constant, and that ending had me in tears. I closed the book emotionally ruined and desperately needing book two. Highly recommend for dark fantasy lovers.

This made me so SAD!! 😭 Star-crossed lovers are so depressing & frustrating bc whyyy 💔?!!!! I immediately felt The Wolf King vibes bc that triangle ? But by the end of the book that lil plot twist threw me for a loop. I kept thinking “ohhhhh, clever how they did that!!” & swoon, Dacian is totally daddy, with his extra appendage 😍.

Beautifully written, easy to follow along; loved the world building, the incorporation of all the different creatures— & OMG Gargoyles AND Dracula!!? All my faves in one book. 🖤 The ending kind of dragged after the first 2 conclusions though, but that’s just me. Some ppl love a happily ever after after after after + epilogue . 😉

I was sent a free copy of this book for review consideration but all opinions are my own.

I want to start off by thanking the four authors of this book for providing me with an Advanced Reader Copy of Bloodtithe: A Watcher's Tale! This story is available for pre-order now and will release on February 14, 2026.

I wanted to absolutely love this book, I really did, unfortunately the story fell short for me in many ways.

As has been mentioned by others, I believe the authors were trying to pack quite a lot of information, plot twists, and lore into this storyline. Which would have been okay if this had been a confirmed series, and the information was to be spread between 2-3 books. This story has a lot of potential, so don't get me wrong! I just believe there should have been more time and explanation given for a lot of the character building and world building needed for this book. I started off very confused going into this book, which can be normal. However, there were quite a few plot gaps and a lack of acknowledgement for things throughout the story which did not improve until much later in the book.

I also felt as though the pacing for this book was very off. Somehow the story felt rushed with so much information to digest at once. Yet, the story also felt extremely droned on and repetitive at parts when it came to story progression. There were some chapters which I felt were almost replicas of others, especially in terms of dialogue, with slight details changed but relatively the same.

Unfortunately, I did not see any true character building, character progression, or relationship building where it really mattered. As another reviewer mentioned, there was more relationship building described for friendships as opposed to relationships. This left the characters and the relationships themselves feeling very flat, and I could not connect to any of them. Truthfully, I felt disconnected from this story and the characters almost the entire time. I did not like how the romance aspects felt rushed, and there was no building to get where we were. We were just there and almost instantly in love? It left the entire relationship feeling almost awkward and overly abrupt. There was also another relationship "development" which truly hit me out of left field, and I cannot say that I liked it by any means. It actually left me feeling quite uncomfortable. The dialogue at points between the characters could be deemed "cringy."

I also must mention that if you are going into this story expecting a true "Dracula retelling," like any Dracula movie or "Dracula: A Love Tale," this story is not for you. Maybe it was just me, but I lacked the ability to uncover where the Dracula retelling portion came into this story at all. This was one element that made me very excited to go into reading this book, but it once again fell short for me.

The ending however, that one got me. It was the portion where I cried my little heart out extremely unexpectedly. Overall, this story was alright, not horrible by any means! If you begin to feel frustrated or want to DNF, I do encourage you to stay for the end. You will have some questions answered and have the pleasure of having your heart broken in two for these characters. I was not expecting to cry, but I felt suddenly overwhelmed with emotion for these characters, despite not really connecting with them during the read. I believe with revising and different marketing, this story could easily become a 5-star read.

“Bloodtithe: A Watcher’s Tale” is a story driven by love that refuses to die, even when cursed, broken, and reborn across centuries. At its core is the haunting connection between Drako and Amina, a love steeped in longing and sacrifice. Their bond carries the same tragic weight found in Dracula and sings with the doomed romance of Romeo and Juliet. It is aching, beautiful, and heavy with consequence.

That tragedy echoes forward into a three hundred year curse that shapes the soul of the story. The reincarnation of Zrelina and Dacian is not just fate repeating itself, but fate recognizing itself. Their instant soul bonding feels inevitable rather than rushed, like two halves finally remembering how to exist together. It is emotional, intense, and deeply rooted in the idea that love transcends time.

Equally compelling is the bond between Dacian and Kael. Their relationship reads as more than friendship. It is brotherhood forged through loyalty, trust, and shared survival. That connection grounds the story and gives Dacian emotional depth beyond romance alone.

One of the most striking elements is how the world itself responds to love. The awakening of Dacian’s gargoyle when he and Zrelina come together adds a mythic resonance that reinforces how intertwined magic, destiny, and emotion are in this universe.

I am genuinely shocked that more readers did not recognize how well balanced the world building and character development are. The lore is rich without being overwhelming, and the characters are layered without being confusing. That said, complex reading is not for everyone. Some readers need everything simple and clearly spelled out, and this book trusts its audience to pay attention and feel deeply.

For those who appreciate tragic romance, layered mythology, and emotional storytelling that rewards careful reading, this book delivers something unforgettable.

First I want to say thank you to the authors for giving me the opportunity to be an ARC reader for Bloodtithe: A Watcher’s Tale!

Overall, I pleasantly enjoyed this book. While talking the time to enjoy the story but also analyze it I’ve come to note a few things:

In the beginning, I liked that the authors provided a codex of characters, name pronunciations, a glossary, and realm break down but while reading the first few chapters there really wasn’t any strong world building going on. This made it hard for later chapters to figure out or picture where they are or what the other places consist of. For me I’m a very visual person so it was a little disappointing that the world building wasn’t there.

Another aspect that was confusing was when the authors would more so tell you where the characters are but not show you how they got there making it difficult to go from one chapter to the next. To me there was a little disconnect between scenes, one minute they are in this situation then BAM something else with no explanation.

Also, with the characters I didn’t see any character development as much as I would like. This made it a little difficult to connect with the characters and made it feel like some of the feelings were rushed or not explained just that that’s how it’s supposed to be. But there was some banter and sarcasm that was funny.

I LOVED the spicy scenes! Very well written but I wish we got more of them!!

However, I LOVED the ending! (I actually shed a few tears) It was probably the best part of the book. That’s where the story really redeemed itself. You can feel the love, betrayal, and hurt in these last few pages which I believe we were all looking for. Also, some of our questions were answered but not all! Overall, this book was very enjoyable! The four authors did an amazing job working together to create this story!
