Lysander cut his bindings of privilege to seek the ancient power of the dragons in hopes of making a better tomorrow for everyone. He seeks out a likely ally, the beautiful and exotic Astrid. At first wary of his lofty ideals, she becomes not only smitten, but dedicated to his cause. Together, they may very well remake the world.
I really like our MC and FMC in this book, their banter is amazing and you can see the genuine connection they have. The story is very interesting and I'm excited to learn more in the next one. I also love how the MC almost gives evil mad scientist vibes but is a genuinely good person. The spice is great and not overly done and all of the supporting characters are well done as well.
Didn't know what to expect but started anyway. Enjoyed the world, the magic system, the government, and the sex. Recommended for 16 years old and up due to enjoyable sex scenes. Magic spells that require actually learning them and talent, swords, creatures of magic and fairy tales, drama at the courts, with an invasion in the future. Starting the next book now.
Some of this author's best writing to date in my opinion! Fantastic world creation, dynamic characters and an underlying mystery. I can't wait to see what happens next!!!
The characters are interesting and funny. The story is well developed and interesting although slow in the beginning. I hope that the series continues on for a good while! Looking forward to the next book!
DNF. There was a lot to like about the MC, but the way he constantly bragged about sleeping with all these different women rubbed me the wrong way, but was tolerable because the story was good enough to keep me reading. Dropped the book because the book spent a large amount of time building the MC and first LI's connection, with believable real in world concerns for not being more than friends. Then out of nowhere the MC jumps into bed with a side character for meaningless sex. At that point, I couldn't care about any of the relationships because even the MC doesn't care.
