What happens when the dream man of your youth turns out to be a nightmare? 17-year-old Josh Frost glimpses 32-year-old married Douglas Pepper in the showers at his father's country club and that encounter rules Josh's fantasies for years to come. A chance meeting with Douglas a decade later at a wedding sparks a red hot chemistry between the two men who begin a clandestine and dangerous affair made more volatile as Douglas works as a powerhouse talent lawyer for Canyon Rock Pictures, a successful film production company owned by Josh's father, Kyle.
When Josh also begins working for Canyon Rock, his and Douglas's sexual chemistry threatens their careers, family relations and Douglas's marriage to the smart, dynamic Lynne, who suspects her husbands attention is on the handsome young man. Complicating matters, Douglas and Lynne's college-age son, Brandon, comes out to his parents and it's Lynne who accepts and embraces him immediately while Douglas has discomfort with his son's open sexuality.
Now 27, Josh lives as an out gay man accepted by family and friends including his witty gay cousin, Travis, but closeted Douglas is finally able to live out his erotic fantasies. His obsession with Josh leads to perilous behavior and risky decisions that careen into disaster.
Everything climaxes at the end-of-summer glamorous screening party of Canyon Rock's new Robin Williams movie on the Disney studio lot leaving all of them shell-shocked and forever changed.
