I’ve always loved Delphi, but she only ever had eyes for Snake.
I watched her marry my club brother, burying my feelings deep, knowing they had that once-in-a-lifetime kind of love most people only read about.
Until the man she married turned on the MC he swore to protect.
Raven Souls don’t suffer fools lightly, so we took our pound of flesh from the traitor and burned Delphi’s world to ash.
Years pass, but my love for the woman I’m supposed to hate never faded.
When Delphi returns, like an avenging angel, sacrificing herself for one of our own and almost losing her life in the process, I know this is it—my one chance to make things right.
I don’t care that she hates me almost as much as she hates the club or that she’ll fight the attraction that crackles between us every step of the way; nothing will stop me from making Delphi mine.
But as the lies coloring her past slowly fall away, secrets are revealed, secrets so horrific they could tear my club apart.
And the truth will make monsters out of all of us.
IN ANOTHER LIFE IS A SOUL-DEEP, HEART-SHATTERING MC ROMANCE THAT HURTS SO GOOD.
Candice Wright has delivered five outstanding, emotionally gripping dark romances in her Raven Souls MC series, and In Another Life might just be the one that burrows the deepest under your skin. Delphi and Kreuger’s story is not for the faint-hearted—this is raw, painful, and achingly beautiful storytelling at its finest.
Past and present collide like a fiery rope, so tightly wound it’s impossible to cut. You can’t experience one without the other, and that emotional push and pull makes every chapter hit harder. This is a love that’s spanned years, complicated by marriage, loyalty, and choices that aren’t as clear-cut as they first appear. A man who has loved one woman while bound to another… and as the layers peel back, nothing is quite what you expect.
Tissues? Absolutely required. There are moments that are genuinely difficult to read, the kind that make your chest ache and your heart race, but that’s exactly what makes this story so powerful. When the secrets finally come to light, the fallout threatens not just Delphi and Kreuger, but the very foundation of the MC itself.
What makes In Another Life truly unforgettable is the balance—those perfectly placed light-hearted moments that offer brief respite before the next emotional blow. They ground the story, deepen the connection, and make the heartbreak hit even harder.
This is dark MC romance done right—emotional, intense, devastating, and ultimately unforgettable. If you want a story that breaks you before putting you back together, this one demands to be read. 🖤🔥
For the first time I did not enjoy this book in Candice’s MC series. It was just bleh. Had none of the good parts that usually counteract all the cringe and predictable story lines. Meant it was hard to keep focus when it just wouldn’t end and you realised you still had like 40% left (insert eyeroll). I think there was literally 3 sex scenes throughout the whole book that were vanilla as. And don’t get me started on the ridiculous man with the bomb at the end!? Like why!?! Made absolutely ZERO sense. Tough read overall.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Let me preface this by saying that I truly loved this book, we learned some of Delphi’s story in the previous book All That Glitters (another great book in my opinion) so we already knew that she was the kind of woman who was willing to sacrifice herself in order to protect her friend, but in In Another Life we learn so much more about everything that led up to the grenade sacrifice.
It’s hard to know where exactly to start with this book review, logically I should start at the beginning where Delphi experiences one of the worst days of her life but her past and present are all mixed up with each other so much had happened to her in a reasonably short amount of time that the simple fact that she was still standing tall, still protecting the people she loves and still at her core Delphi is a miracle.
I wont go into detail about how much exactly Delphi suffered as I don’t want to give spoilers and its much better to read it organically as she’s telling her story herself. But needless to say she suffered hit after hit after hit, and yet the fact that she was not only surviving but fighting strong truly showed the strength and the depth of her character. Delphi was betrayed first by the man she loved, then by the people she called family so she rebuilt from the ground up, despite her overwhelming pain and loss only for it to be cruelly taken away again. You’d think that would be enough to break her, but no she continued to fight, first for herself, then for Theo, who was also suffering at the hands of the people who should have loved him. She might not have been his biological mother but she was absolutely his mother in heart.
Then we have Krueger, the man who has loved Delphi from afar for as long as he has known her, from being the old lady of one of his MC brothers through her perceived betrayal, and still now. Seeing him care for Delphi in the way that she deserves to be cared for and loving her in the way that she deserves to be loved is truly beautiful and watching their connection grow and expand further into an unshakable, unbreakable bond was fantastic after seeing Delphi suffer so much loss. Throw in the banter and side characters (Legs’ one liners were by far my favourites) and you’ve got the makings of a great MC romance book. I will say there are some pretty heavy topics and dark situations in the book and some of the betrayals that have yet to be uncovered will leave you gasping, while some of the heartbreaking realisations for both Krueger and Delphi will likely have you reaching for the tissues. It’s a great book, with a great plot and just a touch of spice to finish it up.
Oh my god did it feel like this book tore me to ribbons before tying me right back up again. I have loved this series and all of Candice’s MC romance books but I think…no I KNOW Delphi and Kruger’s story has now become one of my all time favorite love stories.
I know this is a MC romance but what I loved most about this book was it honestly didn’t focus on them, sure the dynamic of the MC was their but ultimately this was Delphi’s journey. Man I wanted to reach through the book and give this woman a hug! She has been through so much but she has fought so hard to carve out a space that is just hers, she is not just going to forgive and forget what they did to her. She held them accountable and didn’t fall into the “club business” trap again, if it was about her or who she cared about she made it “Delphi’s business”.
Kruger became one of my top book boyfriends only about a couple of chapters in. He recognizes his past mistakes, accepts them and then does something about them. THAT is a man. He has always been in love with Delphi but was never in a position to do something about it so he settled in the background. Years later he is done letting the past control his future and he won’t stop at anything to do and be whatever Delphi needs of him.
This story is about second chances, righting wrongs, staying true to yourself and above all healing. Delphi and Kruger will live rent free in my head for a very long time and I am not mad about it.
With all of that being said if you want to read this book do your research and check the trigger warnings because your mental health matters too babes.
Ratings: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Tropes: second chance, found family, friends to enemies to lovers, redemption arc, he falls first, hurt/comfort
Candice Wright just devastated me, totally ripped me to shreds, then slowly rebuilt me. Just when I thought my heart was healing, another heartbreaking moment came along and crushed me. Big, fat, ugly tears poured down my cheeks, blurring the words on the page. The anguish, heartbreak, and gut-clenching suffering of Delphi drag you into her perspective. All I wanted was to hug her, give her the comfort and support she so dearly needed. In Another Life has to be the most complex story in this series that I've read, but also the most endearing. You fall in love with Delphi's character, wishing her life would turn the corner and give her everything denied to her, pouring sunshine, sweetness, and love into her bleak darkness. Poor Delphi can't seem to catch a break. Her past was horrible, haunting her every waking moment, her daily shames stoked by memories that would break a lesser woman. The strength that carries her through each revelation is enough to sustain ten bikers, yet packaged in one small woman. And the man who would claim her would bear each lash doled out to her to protect her. Kruger has stood by and watched the love of his life shatter time and time again. The line between love and hate is fine, and no better example of this appears than Kruger's realization: to bury the dark past and build a bright future with Delphi once atoning for the betrayal. The blows these two must overcome are heart-wrenching and soul-destroying. Only the strength of their love will stand as the future foundation of a family and a well-deserved peace. Delphi and Kruger's HEA has to be the hardest-won but most deserved in this series, and it will live forever in my heart.
I love the Underestimated series so much that the events of that evening in Crown of Fools are easily recollected. I remember all of it, but I never knew how much I needed to have the behind the scenes or the aftermath and consequences of the chaos that Snake and Bear had created. And I had no idea how much Delphi’s story needed to be told. I was absolutely enraged by the treatment that she received that night and after. When the truth was finally revealed, I was eviscerated. By the depravity that occurred and it becoming the reason they felt they had to banish her. I cried, felt pain for her and devastation unlike anything else before. The things done to her and all she endured are more than any person would want to survive… but she did. Candice again has written a FMC that is unmatched in her strength to survive and thrive with literally the clothes on her back and a heart broken beyond repair. Krueger finally getting his chance to prove to her that his love and affection is genuine and she deserves all the good things was exactly the pace it needed to be for someone that had groveling to do and for a woman with no faith left in anyone. Watching Delphi let her guard down to try and trust what he is showing her is real and she is not going to left stranded and alone is powerful, because no matter what he does, it is all up to her. All of these things took time and were beautiful to watch. The letters… had me emotionally wrecked in the best way. I cried so much in this story. It was beautiful and devastating. I don’t feel like we’ve been in such a dark place since Heir of Shadows. So much history, and I loved all the cameos we got because of that. Candice, I am always impressed by your stories and I absolutely love this world. Each time you bring us another character to get attached to or reintroduce us to them, you surprise us with a story we never saw coming and I LOVE it.
Oh, Del, how I wanna steal you away and marry you myself! Seriously, Del is just everything. She was betrayed over and over again by people who should have stood by her. By the person she loved most and who she thought loved her. Yet every time she got knocked down, she pushed back up again. Del's story will tear you up. Once you think you know the worst, you'll get hit in the gut again. I don't know how someone who was hurt as much as she was could possibly ever trust people again, but she still gave her heart away to be there for others. I'm not sure there's anyone on this earth good enough for Delphine Anders. Kruger better work hard every day of his life to be worthy of even a morsel of her goodness.
I'm so glad Theo became family. And I loved seeing Sunshine and her fellas. I was so scared I was gonna find out something to make me be livid with Blade that I couldn't come back from, and I definitely wasn't happy with him, but he did it out of a very misplaced sense of doing the right thing.
This book only reminded me how I NEED ANOTHER BOOK WITH SUNSHINE AND HER GUYS, CANDICE. PLEASE. And Del can certainly be in it too because she's right up there at the top of the list of my favorite characters you've written.
I need time to heal from this story, but I'll certainly be reading it again.
All the stars and all the tears. This book was devasting and amazing.
Delphi has become my new favorite FMC by Candice Wright... maybe in my top five of all time. She takes all of the hits and keeps kicking, but that doesn't come without a lot of scars and baggage. She is such a strong and complex character. All of her devasting life events have shaped her into a baddie that is a complete protector.
Kruger, that sweet man. He has always loved Delphi, even when she wasn't his to love, but he made a big mistake when she needed him the most. When she is thrown back into his life, he knows there is no letting her go again. My heart broke for him and his guilt, I didn't want to blame him for anything but at the same time, I felt such a protectiveness for Delphi that I couldn't help it.
This book will BREAK YOU... you will cry and sob multiple times. But it also gives you all the good feelings, swoony moments, and smiles. Words cannot fully explain just how hard this book hit me and how much I loved it.
Please check your triggers, this book gets DARK. Not within the relationship itself, but in the plot itself.
In Another Life by Candice Wright will suck you into a false sense of calm before she strikes. If you’ve read anything by Candice Wright before, you know how she has a way of throat punching you from the get-go and putting back the broken pieces of your heart enough to have it funtion but there are a lot of jagged edges that will never fit properly again. This book, however, without giving too much away, the book is tame compared to her previous works until… she comes out of literally nowhere and not only throat punches you, but drives the knife right into your back. You feel safe reading this and then. BAM!!! She slugs you. Am I here for it? Absolutely!!! Kruger is harboring a secret he’s kept close to the cut for years. Del is trying to rebuild her life that has been destroyed over and over again, and being asked to trust the club that betrayed her is damn near impossible. Beautifully written and executed, Candice wraps it up in a neat little bow, but not before you want to get trigger-happy with all the other members of the MC. Sit back and enjoy the ride, because even though you think it’s smooth sailing, its one helluva bumpy ride. 5 Stars!!!!
This is the fifth book in this phenomenal series, and this is Delphi and Kruger’s story. Kruger has always loved Delphi, but he stood back and watched her marry a club brother, who went on to betray his club. Raven Souls do not take kindly to betrayal, and they burnt Delphi’s world to ashes, chasing her out of town, Years later Delphi is back, stronger, and determined, and she sacrifices herself for the club, in which she nearly loses her life. The MC begins to question themselves when secrets are revealed, and what horrific events that Delphi unknowingly endured. Will Kruger be able to convince Delphi to give him a chance? This is a well written action packed, emotional roller coaster, with found family, friendships, danger, suspense, intrigue, determination, lies, betrayal, secrets, friends / enemies / lovers, vengeance, challenges, forced proximity, redemption, second chances, off the charts chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, tragic, haunting, twisted, and unpredictibale, addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
I knew going into this one that there’s was so much more to Delphi’s story. I also knew it wasn’t going to be good, but man I was not prepared for the devastation that her story brought. This series is one of my all time favorites and the way Candice tells a story will shatter, shock, and rebuild you every time. Delphi went through more than she ever knew, and Krueger loved her since the moment he met her. I smiled, laughed, cried, sobbed, and was very angry while reading this. It wouldn’t be a Candice book if you didn’t visit every emotion. These men spend all their time groveling and the women don’t back down. They could single handedly run the world and we love that energy. This woman blew herself up, killed, protected, forgave, and became a queen for her found family. Never asked for anything in return. Kruger became every thing she deserved in the world and showed her that she can always depend on him no matter what. My favorite line in this book is “I’m your something new.” I can’t wait for everyone to read this book.
Honestly I was lost by the second chapter. It starts off with the FL having a nice loving moment and it’s her biker husband and when he has to leave for a meeting it’s kinda like he’s saying goodbye. Then a little into the drama of what happened and why the club turned on her and the FL just lost walking around cause she couldn’t believe what was happening. Then all of a sudden a big time jump that has me confused throughout the whole thing. I haven’t been with this series from the beginning I have read book 3 The First Cut that one I wasn’t confused at all I loved it but with this one I feel like you have to read book 4 because this isn’t a standalone read like it says. Maybe if I went and stopped reading book 5 and started book 4 but I didn’t I pushed through then I would have liked it like everybody else but since it did say it can be read ass a standalone I gave it a try, especially since boom 3 wasn’t confusing like this one was. That’s why I gave it 3 stars
One day, that’s all it took me to absolutely devour Candice’s latest addition to her Raven’s Soul series. I think this one is going to hit a little different than the others, I mean all our favorite characters are there, but this one (to me), focuses more on Delphi than the Club. For me watching Delphi work through her trauma was heartbreaking, but it also shows her coming out on the other side, and yes Kruger is there throughout it all, but she is the hero in her story. It’s her strength through it all that makes her one of my favorite FMCs of Candice’s.
With all that being said, you are still going to get some suspense, some questions that hopefully will be answered in future books, and all heat you could ask for. I have read ALL of Candice’s books (and there are a lot) and I will keep reading whatever she writes because I know that they are going to be compelling, entertaining and the perfect escape. What more can you ask for?
OMG, Candice is seriously not holding back with this series. Every single book just proves how wrong I am for judging some of her characters too early. I go in with opinions, and then I read their stories and end up feeling so guilty for ever doubting them. 🙈
If I could, I would 100% hug Delphi and apologize in person, because that woman has been through absolute hell and came out stronger on the other side. She’s officially my new favorite FMC in Candice’s world, right up there with Lola. 🙌🏼
And Kruger? He was amazing. Completely all in from the start, and the way he patiently worked to earn Delphi’s trust and love was just… wow!
I won’t spoil anything, but please, please read the trigger warnings 🚨 this book isn’t for everyone. That said, if you do pick it up, you’re going to love it. I already can’t wait to see whose story is next and dive right back into this world.
This is the 5th book in this brilliant series and after the way the last one left off I was sssoooo looking forward to this one and Delphi's story!
Oh my heart broke for Delphi She had been betrayed by the person that supposedly loved her and thrown away by those she considered her chosen family. Her husband may have betrayed his MC, the Ravel Souls but they tarnish he as being just like him and chase her out of town burning her home to the ground. She hit rock bottom and now she has picked the pieces up of her life she is being thrown back into the Raven Souls world and is hoping she survives this time!
Kruger has been in love with Delphi the whole time and after making a colossal mistake when it comes to her, now she's back he is going to do whatever it takes to make her his, to put her first like she should have been! With the MC also trying to make amends and show that they were wrong she just may be able to heal.
As always Candace wrights a brilliant story filled with tension, suspense, darkness, betrayal, found family, loyalty, friendships and so much red hot chemistry making this another must read!
I was gifted a copy of this book by the Author and this is my honest opinion
Oh wow Candice, do you know how to write one emotional rollercoaster of a book. Delphi and Kruger are an amazing couple in every possible way. This book surpassed every expectation I had. Delphi deserved so much more from all of them and has to be one of the strongest women you’ve written. But, Kruger does a fine job of making me swoon.
“I tell you what, I’ll stop touching you when you stop responding to it. When you don’t melt under my fingertips, and your breath doesn’t hitch the second my lips meet yours, I’ll back off. But until then, it’s game on, baby.”
This series just keeps getting better, with all the different characters coming together throughout. I never want them to leave! The women in this series have become some of my favorites! Amity & Neveah are hilarious & should be featured in all of your books, with their shenanigans. 🤣😂
Let me just start with this. Pay attention to the trigger warnings yall.
This book is the epitome of dark chaotic devastation with a side helping of karmic retribution.
I knew Delphi’s story, once revealed, would be the stuff of nightmares, what I wasn’t prepared for was the fact that it would be the stuff that gives your nightmares even worse nightmares.
I’ve never wanted to reach into a book so badly before and want to be a part of the karma bus as I did with this one.
It wouldn’t be a Candice Wright book if she didn’t make you ride the roller coaster of every emotion possible but I actually had to stop reading because my eyes were so swollen from crying. I had to do this in two separate readings.
Delphi is one of my new favourite characters and I cannot wait until the next installment where I get my fix in the world of the Ravens
If you love MC romances and you haven’t read Candice Wright’s books yet, what are you doing?! They totally encapsulate everything I love in an MC romance- hot bikers who are totally OTT for their women, bada$$ FMC’s who are strong enough to put up with them, and lots of drama! Krueger and Delphi are perfect examples of this.
Delphi really takes so many hits in this story that you just want to bawl your eyes out for her but she still comes out swinging and Krueger is there through it all, supporting her, even when she doesn’t want or need it. They also get lots of help from his brothers and I love how they all step up to earn Delphi’s forgiveness once they find out her story.
Things got a bit too busy for me towards the end with the past characters and side characters but otherwise, this was a phenomenal read!
This wound up being a let down. Story started off good and I liked both leads, but by Chapter 20 I'd had enough; it was soooooo OTT with all that happened with Delphi I mean, c'mon now; I get there's drama in these type of books, but this was everything and the kitchen sink! The story became so involved, with so many other people, that I was exhausted from reading this dramatic mess. I had to skip pages toward the end as I just couldn't take anymore DRAMA!!!
Other books in this series that I liked were "The Good Girl" which was a solid 3 stars, and "The First Cut" which was a fabulous 4.5 stars, but this one is lucky it earned the 2 stars.
I was not prepared for the amount of emotions I would feel while reading this book. Wow!! I laughed, I cried, and I got angry. Rest assured, there is hope, healing, and love. Delphi was the star in this book. She was beyond resilient, she was a fighter, and so brave. She grew, was healing, and most importantly found love and a family. I absolutely swooned for Kruger. His unstoppable love and determination made him the man Delphi needed.
Candice never disappoints me. Every time I pick up one of her books I know I'm going to love it! Dephli's story was an emotional roller-coaster, but it was so much more. There was drama, secrets, betrayal, and danger. In the end, it was a new beginning and a brighter future for Delphi, Kruger, and Theo!
I have been waiting for Delphi’s story since we met her in the last book. Krueger is sweet and dedicated and is willing to show Delphi that he loves her and has since before… when he shouldn’t have been in love with her. Delphi has been to H.E. double hockey sticks and back. She is such a force to be reckoned with, who shows her grit and true perseverance. This book is all about overcoming your trials in life and loving your found family. A book hasn’t moved me to tears in a long while and I cried a lot during this one. Candice never disappoints with her twists and turns and inability to guess the ending. Absolutely LOVED this book and can’t wait for the next!
“Lies can be whispered, but actions are always out loud.”
In Another Life is part of the Raven Souls MC series by Candice Wright. This series just keeps getting better and better. This book packed an emotional punch and had unexpected twists that kept me invested right from the start.
I absolutely loved Kruger and Delphi. The chemistry between them is off the charts. I couldn’t get enough of Kruger’s dedication and persistence with Delphi. I was so happy with how Delphi rebuilt her life and came out stronger. I definitely need more of Delphi and Kruger.
If you enjoy MC reads then this is an absolute must read! I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series!
✨ Review ✨ *** In Another Life was so good!! I loved Delphi and Kruger. Their love was so special and amazing. Delphi is my new hero. I absolutely love her so much. Her story was heartbreaking and so hard to read but her strength was amazing. Kruger was perfect for her. He was so sweet and loving. I loved all the characters and their support for Delphi. The writing was so good and so easy to read. The spice was hot, the romance was sweet, and the characters were so loveable. The ending was perfect and I cannot wait for the next book. *** Please double check your triggers with this one!!! *** Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spice: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Romance: 🩷🩷🩷🩷 ***
I really didn’t expect to love this one, especially with how quickly Delphi forgave the club. But the story changed from what I expected, and I was a goner the moment Theo stepped onto the page. Found family is genuinely one of my favorite tropes, and to see how these three healed each other just soothed something in me.
Is this perfect? No. The pacing is off at times, I there’s enough loose threads to make me worry about the entire plot unraveling. But damn if this MC isn’t easy to love (except Havoc - I genuinely cannot stand how content he gets to be after the shit he did to Lola). I’m so ready for the next few books!
Where to begin. To say I felt like I was on an emotional rollercoaster would be an understatement. I have been waiting for Dalphie’s story. I was not disappointed. Delphie is one kick a** fmc. Life has done nothing but knock her down and still she just gets back up and fights back. I can honestly say I had a love hate feeling for the club throughout this read and even in Some of the others. Still, I found myself pulling for them all. What an incredible read yet again! If you’re looking for an emotional read with one strong fmc this is definitely for you.
I received this as an ARC. This is the fifth book in the Raven Souls series by Candice and it was oh, so good. Just like every other book I’ve read from her. She knows how to draw you in and leave you breathless. The twists and turns and the emotion. She will hit you in the feels. This was such an amazing read. I will be thinking of this one for a long time just waiting for the next book in this amazing series.
Oh what a book. This book has my heart. I knew Delphi would gut me and see me back together with her story. Kruger had to sit back and watch the world around Delphi go bottoms up. Finally he gets his chance when a horrible accident happens. Delphi wakes up in the hospital and has no idea who to trust and wants to run. Delphi rises like a phoenix in ashes and Kruger has to figure out how not to get burned.
Another amazing read by an amazing author. This book contains all the things we love to see in a book, and will keep your attention from beginning to end. If you like a book filled with angst, romance, violence, redemption and a happy ending then this book is definitely for you. Not to mention the plot twists that you will never see coming. Definitely hard to put down until you have read every word. I'm excited to see what this amazing author has in store for us in the next book.
Oh god this was heart wrenching, i thought Lolas story was awful but Delphi?? Jesus.. I mean just damn, i harley have words to describe how gut wrenching it was, just how she was able to keep living and just be was just amazing to me. I love Candice books and probably will read EVERY DAMN THING she writes from this universe! I love it! The writing, the story’s, the family and the hurt as well. Thank you for the book, looking forward to the next one!
Candice Wright is the G.O.A.T of romance authors!!!
Just like with her previous books, I literally couldn’t put this one down and stayed up all night reading it from start to finish. The storyline is so well written and all the characters are fully fleshed out. There’s so much humor to her writing that I’m constantly highlighting sections that literally make me laugh out loud. I cannot wait for the next book 📕!!!!
